Hemorrhoids are not a big deal. Not a disease. Don't worry about it - it will have no negative effect on your visa. You can take care of it with a cream from the doctor.

Hello all

I have decided at the last minute to go see my baby and be with her for her interview. I will be arriving in Manila on Tuesday morning. I will get to an internet cafe at some point to let everyone know our interview results on April 11.

Pray for us....

Talk to you all when I get to Manila.....

I need your help everyone..or someone that can convince us that everything will be ok. My baby had her medical recently and all went well until they asked her if she has ever had an abortion. She told them yes and now she has to go to a Psychiatrist, she couldn't lie to the Doctor.

I told her that it was ok and that I still loved her no matter what happened, she had to do what she had to do at the time. As she was not prepared to have a baby. I am just in tears and I hope this doesn't keep her from getting a VISA. Some of you may think that it was completley wrong, but under circumstances at the time she felt it was the best to not bring the baby into the world. I am so sick that the USCIS may judge her wrongly and it makes me so sad for her. I was very understanding with her. I talked to her about it and she seems to have dealt with it mentally and I hope the psychiatrist feels the same way.

I am so sad today and I pray to God that she can still come to meand be my wife. I love her so much.

I need you all.....VJ is my only outlet with this situation....I am a regular here but want to remain anonymous...

Any advice would help me so much :crying:

I am sorry to hear that. I hope that everything works out for you. My Fiancee has a very close friend that is going through the same thing. If you find anything out let us know....God Bless

This is a vent post.. just so you know of a bad experience with Delbros today.
x x x I hope you don't experience this kind of inconvenience. I have a big headache now.

Up to the last moment, you are kept in suspense ano? Just like in the movies ~ adventure, comedy, thriller, horror, suspense talaga itong visa process. But in the end, the fairy tale comes true. Kanta nga ni Snowhite, “someday my prince (ehe my visa) will come, lalalalalala.

Seriously speaking, what's going on with Delbros nowadays? There's a lot of complaints lately. Maybe it's time to collate data to document the complaints and then we can write the embassy about it.

Well, the delivery guy managed to find my address after all. He delivered our visas at 9:00p.m. last night--even if their website says they only deliver up to 5:00p.m.. I did talk to the supervisor yesterday. And yup, I am so very tempted to write Mr. Delgado (Delbros CEO) and the embassy about this. A collective documentation of complaints would even be better.

Now you make me feel like singing... I'm leaving on a jetplane... :star:
Nah.. believe me it's more like poetry reading when i sing...

And so! Visas delivered: 28 March/6 days/Cainta, Rizal.

Thanks again and congratulations guys. Everyone who goes through this process deserves a big one... the visa process is certainly not for the weak of heart.

oh yes, i'm dancing now   ,

Congrats Gen, that's great!!!

Congrats!

by the way, is there any chance that the consul will call the petitioner in the US during the interview?

My baby says she has no records of her vaccinations. Does this mean she will have to have them at her medical?

Dave, she does not HAVE to get them but she will need them eventually so I would highly recommend she have them. The cost is included in the exam fee. I don't remember which one but there is at least one vaccination she will not be able to get there and she will have to get it here in the states.

Thank you for the reply, that puts us at ease...I appreciate it.

I asked my baby if there was anything in her packet about a CFO seminar and she said "no". Does she have to go? I want to make sure she gets it done if she has too. She is doing a K-1.

I answered my own question. I see that she does.

Can she register and attend the CFO Seminar the same day?

I think she better get the CFO done before the Medical Exam cause they'd be taking her passport at St. Luke's, i wished i did it that way now i have to do it after i get my visa i hope i have enough time, since they are going to stamp the passport and anyway i would need to go back too for the stamp on the visa ( thats as far as I know, if im wrong correct me pls but thats after i made numerous inquiries  ) it is a requirement to have the CFO seminar, its even a requirement now if you're going to apply for a new passport according to a friend, so its for all Filipinos going overseas, whether to work or to marry a foreign citizen.

Oh yea I forgot they keep the Passport at St Luke's. She wants to do her medical on monday, maybe she should do her CFO on Monday then go to St Lukes after that. It may be too much for her to do in one day. Is the CFO just a first come first serve??

QUESTION ABOUT THE "INTERVIEW APPOINTMENT LETTER".....

Hi,
Today I received my wifes interview appointment letter. It says she must have this letter to get into their office on the appointment date for her interview.

Problem is I can't get it to my wife before her appointment date (March 19) through first class mail.

Does anyone know if I can just scan it and send it in an email to my wife so she can print it out.
Its pretty much a generic letter on Manila Embassy letter head paper.

I really don't want to spend some $30.00 getting the priginal to here with some quick shiping.

Thanks, Mike

Hey Mike.

How are you? I got the same letter. Read the black typing just under the date. This letter is a copy that was sent to your cleint/relative etc.........

Let me know if this helps you out.

Dave

Hi DAVE!
Thanks.....
Actually this letter doesn't have anything under the date as you suggested. Maybe because mine is CR-1 and yours is K-1. Who knows?

But what you said it said..... made me think. I got out the copy of the packet 4 that I have already sent Lorna, and there IS a letter in there very similar that also says she must bring that letter to the interview.

So all is good. I think the guard needs to see something with date and time and her name.

So as far as I'm concerned she already has the letter. Thanks for the help. Gets rid of a little of the stress. Getting close now!
Good luck with your journey, Mike

Super Mike, I am glad that you have things all lined up. I wish you both the best of luck.

I have mentioned that we all really need to keep in touch. A lof of people here have made friendships through this process. We have relied on each other for information that has led to being patient and impatient. I wish I came to VJ much earlier in this process, but I was a member of another forum that kinda fell off the internet. I am so thankful for VJ, and all the people that make up this fine forum. I am not sure who started VJ but I want to thank you dearly for this. This process is a true test of your love for somebody. Those of you that are inpatient, such as myself, slow down and take a deep breathe and you will reap the benefits of this whole lengthy process that is in the hands of the government. Our process for a K-1 is 11 months.

It's hard to wait my friends, it is really hard. Sorting through all the feelings day and night of good ones and scared ones. It is a HUGE change for anyone to come to America from a different country. Each time I have felt scared I have told my baby and I am not one to open my feelings, but I have learned to do that with her. SO AMAZING....It helps so much, by the end of the conversation we feel great about our new life ahead. Do not be afraid to share your feelings good or bad to your loved one. If she or he really loves you she or he will understand totally.

1.) Be patient with your loved one, my uncles wife is Filippina and he told me the number one thing is an extreme amount of patience with your lovey.
2.) Be patient with this process. Everyday is a day closer to being together with your loved one. You will feel massive adrenaline when the interview gets closer. Just think of the day she/he gets there Visa in hand and you get the wonderful news. Pull the car off the road gently.....LOL
3.) Ask questions here at VJ, Someone will respond very fast. I want to continue to be a part of VJ even when my wife gets here. I want to help others as they helped me. It will be great for my wife to be here on VJ as well to help the ladies coming here to America.
4.) The feeling you have after all the ups and downs is amazing. My babys interview is next month April 11, 2007, its the feeling of one more month until she gets here. My heart pounds and I feel a surge of extreme happiness that I have never felt before. How could something so wonderful happen so fast anyway, waiting is worth it, building up for the moment that you meet your baby at the airport and you see your beautiful bride or handsome groom running towards you. I am just charged up tonight and maybe spilled my thoughts to you all, on a reply to Mikey LOL!!!!!!!!!!!

Most of all I thank you all for being here and we are here for each other, everyone is welcome. Do not be a stranger here. This is like a family.

If you need help for anything ask right here. Anything means anything....Even when things aren't going so smooth for a huge change for you spouse. I have seen people come on here and have relationship saving reccomendations of what to do for our homesick babys.

I gotta quit typing here you all I am really going on a roll,

I love you all like brothers and sisters,

LETS ALWAYS KEEP IN TOUCH!!!!!!

May God Bless you and your Spouse and your new life ahead.......
And I pray that everyone here in VJ reaps a wonderful experience to remember forever....

To All Having Interviewed This Month:
As several questions have arisen in several other topic areas about the Phil's.
I have a very good question. With the delays of the last year, and with all the problems having arisen due to all the changes that have created delays, has anyone been asked for this years (2006) tax returns thus far? Lorelle (Aussie) and a few others have made it known that it has happened before, and at this point in saving many a trip to the embassy to be saddened in arriving without knowing it, do we need to bring New transcripts with our loved ones to the Interview, will this be a problem?
Just was wondering, and hope it really isnt a problem at all, and just me being a worry wart.
Thanks, and I am sure others are wondering as well in reading posts thru out the forums.
Seems Manila has too many issues , and this is just another to worry about.
Thanks...

I'm really not sure, but would think they would not start asking for it till at least sometime in May since the deadline for filing a return isn't till April17th. you can always send copies of your W2 to show your income for 2006.

I would too, anything that is possible to get, I would get. I am sending the following with the I-134

I-134 Notarized
Tax Transcripts 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005
Tax Return for 2006 (copy of return)
Letter from Bank (Notorized) stating total deposits for 2006 and date account opened and current balance on accounts.
W-2's for 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006

Again, if you can get it, send it :)

Does anyone know when Manila gives out new interview dates?

i believe mid month or toward end of each month, if u got the "MNL" # there is website link in sheriff ulings signature, i believe you can type in the # and see if interview date is scheduled

Yes, I have seen that and have tried it several times. No interview or medical yet, just was wondering when they schedule for the next month. Thanks

Once the case reaches Manila it currently takes 120 days for medical and interview. We were notified February 15 of an April interview. So, lots of patience will be needed, keep yourself busy and it will go by fast.

Quick question, I have heard some conflicting situation about the I-134,

my letter from my employer states my hourly wage....Is that ok?

They will look at your W-2 and/or most recent tax return to determine income from what I understand. Do they state that you are full time or 40 hours a week?

The letter says that;

I work for BNSF and have worked there since 8/12/2002, and I currently hold a permenant position as a Truck Driver and my current hourly wage is $19.00 per hour.

The letter is on BNSF letterhead..... :)

Then I have w-2's for the last 4 years and tax transcripts for the last 4 years and 2006 tax return too...

I was wounding if anyone has tryied to schedule a k1 visa appointment useing "Visa Point". You have to pay like $10 to join the system but after that you can make a visa appointment. Im sure its too good to be true but it doesnt hurt to ask to see if not why??

https://www.us-visas...curedefault.htm

Thanks

Chad and Mides

Dont waste your money, you will have to wait your turn like everyone else. We ALL miss our sweethearts. I would suggest putting that ten bucks with $1990 more and go see her.

K-1 and K-2 VISA's are described as non-immigrant VISA's but are processed by the Immigrant Visa unit and therefore cannot be scheduled through VISA Point. It is taking currently 120 days from the day your case is received in Manila to get an interview and medical exam date. We were notified about 45 days in advanced of our medical/interview date. This is how our case went....Check out my timeline below as an example. Your case may go faster or slower.

What is the number of NVC? Is it the National Visa Center?

We got approved in Feb 13, 2007 but we have not been instructed on where is our case now.

Need your advice.

It can take up to 90 days for the case to get to the NVC from your service center. We had to wait nearly 60 days. Some are sooner than others. I learned that you cannot compare cases. Every case is different. Once your case is sent to the NVC then it goes to Manila within a week or two. Then your looking at 120 days for an interview. Also, between the Service Center and NVC they have no way of tracking your case. The service center will tell you they have sent it to the NVC and NVC will tell you they do not have your case yet. I think it sits on a pallet with 1000's of others waiting to be shipped. I hope this helps you. I know its hard waiting, but patience is a huge factor through this process.

Hello Everyone, I find myself here with nobody to talk to about this and hope that some of you possibly will be able to shed some insight into this serious issue for me. My wife has been here now in the USA for 18 days. I have tried to be the best husband that I can possibly be. I take her places, out to dinner and even cook gourmet dinners for us. I am an independent broker and my office is in my home. My day's are somewhat busy and sometimes hectic from 8:00am to about 7:00pm Monday through Friday. Since my wife arrived here, I have made a point to take a few hours away from my work. My wife seemed to be sad and unhappy over the last few days. She is not the type of person to say what is bothering her or complain. I finally got her to tell me what is bothering her. It seems that she is feeling lonely and scared. She has made numerous comments that our neighborhood is very quiet and she rarely sees anyone outside. She relies on me for transportation, as she has not taken her driving exam yet. I live in a community next to the ocean, so its about a two or 3 mile drive for shopping, dining, etc. The biggest problem she describes to me is she is scared here. She isn't sleeping at night. She says it is because she is scared, as she hears noises above the master bedroom of which is upstairs. She thinks it is a spirit or a ghost walking around up there! I am serious, she thinks this. I hear things also and I have explained to her that it is the rustling of the very tall Palm trees outside our house. It is always windy or breezy here, as our house is a stones throw from the Atlantic Ocean. My wife is a smart person and well educated, so that isn't an issue. I respect her culture and beliefs and know that this fear is real to her.

This is serious and to the point that she wants to return to the Philippines. She is lonely and scared and I just don't know what to do. All of you have become like an Internet family to me, so I am hoping that possibly some of you can share experiences or shed some insight into this issue for me. I am very frustrated, as I don't know what else to say or do. You can send me a private message if you prefer. Thanks, Glenn

Hi Glenn,

I think that it happens to everyone to more or less a degree. Did you both talk about how your daily lives would be together? During the period apart, how much time did you spend on the phone or chatting online? My fiancee will be here this coming Friday and I'm currently waiting tables at night (3 days a week) in addition to my full time job - so I'm concerned about how the transition will be for her, but we talk about it all the time. Keep in mind, she's left EVERYTHING behind her, she's not only in a strange neighborhood but a strange country as well. If she can't drive right away, show her the public transportation system so that she has a way to get out of that house that will quickly feel like a prison to her if it doesn't already.

Expectations are so important. I would sit down and have a heart to heart talk. Make some immediate goals that will help her to feel comfortable (introducing her to some of the neighbors, introduce her to your friends, get involved with your church, find a network of Filipino Americans nearby that she can communicate with). Then I'd talk about long term goals (getting her driver's license, signing up for classes at a local college, etc.). Whatever the main plan was that you both had imagined, in terms of your lives together - that has to be ironed out where both of you have a good idea of what to expect.

Just try to put yourself in her place and imagine what you would need to do to keep your sanity. Going back home is NOT the solution and both of you need to believe that. The transition is going to be painful and there's no way to get around it, but tell yourselves that it is temporary. Eventually you will both form a life together that feels comfortable.

Don't despair. Best wishes! :star:

We have been married since December 2005. I visited her twice for 6 weeks prior to our marriage and I met her in Manila 3 times for 2 to 4 weeks during 2006. We chatted or talked on the phone everyday since the first time we met. I let her know before we married that my business life was not only a busy one, but very hectic most of the time. I think she is somewhat surprised at the way I do business, as there is a lot of emotion at times. But, that is just the nature of my business.

I wish desperately that I knew Filipinos here. I know there are many here, but haven't a clue on how she can meet them? I appreciate your concern and feedback.

Hi Glenn,

Hang in there buddy. I hope somehow you can find some way for her to meet some of the filipinas in your area. I'm lucky that my mom has a friend who knows some filipinas here. One of them advised me to call her basically as soon as Sheryl steps off the plane. They have a monthly get together with a bunch of filipinas in the area and their husbands. I'm really hoping this will make a big difference in how Sheryl gets along her first few months here and beyond. God bless.

Dean

Today is much different for Rosemarie and myself. I know that God is shining upon us. Last night we went to dinner at a local restaurant. I saw my wife's eyes light up as a couple was seated behind us. The woman was a Filipina. After we finished our dinner I made introductions and we saat down and talked with them for two hours. The Filipina has been here 28 years. She is going to introduce my wife to other Filipinas here and take her shopping. I also took some advice from some of you on VJ. On Wednesday they are installing " Filipino dish network" and we will get 6 Filipino channels! My cable company didn't offer these. we are going to the Filipino market in Jacksonville also to get some of the foods she misses. Its a good start I think. After we talked with the couple last night I determined that "homesickness" is the major issue for her. I truly want her to be happy, as she is so precious to me. Thanks to all of you here on VJ!

I am so happy to hear the great news, we all need to stick together even when our sweeties get here...:) I am so glad for you Glen....

I didn't actually read the I-864 as requiring three years of tax returns, to quote I-864 page 8:

"You must provide either an IRS transcript or a photocopyfrom your own records of your Federal individual income taxreturn for the most recent tax year. If you believe additionalreturns may help you to establish your ability to maintainsufficient income, you may submit transcripts or photocopiesof your Federal individual income tax returns for the threemost recent years."
