Then you will get papers on how much you will receive, I think it is called an award letter, then every January you will get a paper stating your yearly amount, kind of like a tax form. They probably already got your request and feel there is no need to respond, but I'm just guessing. Example, it was held up at NVC, USCIS took it's sweet time approving it, or some legitimate reason that was out of your control. Do keep a copy of the e mail you send. Second, your petition will likely go to California Service Centre, so on average, you could be approved in about 3 months give or take. But that is just getting your foot in the door. You will be dealing with the consulate in your fiance's country. There are lots of members here who are petitioning fiance's through the Philippines.You may want to seek them out . Select a few along with some written letters / cards with envelopes showing the post mark. That is what we did, and got no RFE. Cover your behind and stay a step ahead of USCIS. That is my advice. If you do not have have that, you will need a co- sponsor.
