I'm so happy that everyone here's being helpful, I don't mind if something is being asked and can be found in the instructions. Still, the I-129F instructions are a little... confusing. This website has actually helped so much along with USCIS.gov and the others. I don't want people to stop posting their questions, even if they seem silly, everyone is going through the same process and we understand that sometimes we're a bit too careful and crazy, but we're not stupid, we just want our process to be close to perfection. :P For our peace of mind, we ask simple questions and there's always someone around that can help us in less that the blink of an eye. I'm pleasantly surprised of how fast people answer your questions here, on VJ, silly or not.

So where is her POE? We were reading online that it is going to be in Dublin, Ireland....how is that possible when it's not even in the US? I thought it was going to be the first airport that you get to inside the United States. I also see that there are a few reviews on it here. I'm just concerned because I don't want them to take her envelope and then she doesn't have the right papers when she gets to NYC and they ask for it and she can't give it to them. It is not only about the evidence you have. I personally think that too much might not be too good either. For example that ring receipt, I wouldnt put.
When I had the interview there was a lady in front of me who had a plastic bag full of evidence, and i'm not kidding. Including all sorts of receipts. They met in person only once. Her English was not that good, and was very nervous. She did really bad. Couldnt understand some of the questions she was asked and just answered what she knew... She had to had the interview in English as her husband was native American. She was told they need more evidence.
They DO ask a lot of questions!!! But if she just stays calm and answers promptly everything will be fine. My husband came to Romania 5 times before my interview, and I was still asked why so rarely. 5 times in 2 years. It did indeed seem rare to us to, but not money wise smile.gif).
Another question I was asked was what interests do we share. To me that Q was VERY stupid. We're in our 20s.. we didnt marry coz we share interests. So i was honest and said we don't. We are in love, but he's a boy i'm a girl. I like fashion he likes cars.

What specific documents are you talking about? If it's the birth certificate and the marriage certificate; the marriage certificate is new so it's in English already (it's trilingual (Romanian, English, French)) and the birth certificate if you have the old one I would suggest to translate and legalize it, if you have the new one, same as the marriage certificate... no need.

We took our valid police certificate to the interview but they requested for us to apply for another one. If you take your big file with you lol, make sure you have it organized so that if you need to get something out of it, you won't be sitting there rambling through it, you can go right to it, meaning you can get out of there quicker which will lead to fewer questions biggrin.gif good luck!

I got that yellow anvelope with the letter from the embasy and the papers for the medical exam.
The letter said that I was scheduled for the interview and for the intervew I have to bring my birth certificate in original and proof of my relationship with my husband.

Hello everybody! First of all, I would like to thank everybody for the useful information posted on this website. I found here the answers for many questions I had regarding the immigration process. I can truly say that you guys helped us a lot more than the lawyer we hired for handling our case.
My story in a few words: my American husband and I got married in November 2008. It was the happiest day of our lives. At that moment we were not aware of the difficulty of the visa process. I am still waiting in Romania for all this come to an end and finally go to USA and start the family life we are dreaming of. Recently we received the approval for I-130. We also filed the I-129F for K-3. We got NOA1 for I-129F on 16 March. At this point we have a dilemma: should we proceed with the CR-1 visa at NVC or wait for the approval of I-129F. from what I have read, the k-3 visa is faster and this is all that we want. We are aware that once arrived in USA, we should apply for AOS, but then we shall have the time for any kind of paperwork.
Actually, the question we have now is the following: if we decide to go on with the CR-1 visa and meanwhile we receive the approval for I-129F, can we go on with the K-3 visa?

Hello everybody!

Our case reached NVC on 04-04-2009 and we paid the fees and sent all the documents required. NVC confirmed receiving the last documents on 20 April 2009. My husband called them yesterday and the NVC operator said that if the documents are complete (please God, no RFE), probably next week our case will be approved. The operator also said that we should wait until the second week of May to find out our interview date which shall probably take place in June. It seems that NVC only assigns interview dates in the second week of each month. Have you heard of this policy before?
Anyway, we hope that in June everything is over and I can go the States to start my life with my dear and loving husband.

Hi! I totally understand you. My husband and I experienced the same frustrating situation with our lawyer. We got married in November, but even though we provided the lawyer with all the documents required very quickly, he only sent the I-130 in December. Moreover, he did not sent all the documents and we got a RFE. The lawyer delayed our case with about two months. Then, he just lied to us that he sent the I-129 in January, but we finally discovered in February that he did not send anything. We took the charge from that moment, we read a lot on the Internet and with the help of this great site we are now waiting for our case to complete at NVC. My advice is to avoid a lawyer as much as possible. Hire a lawyer only if it is a difficult case and you encounter problems! The lawyers do not care if you are alone while your husband/wife is so far away.

Hello all i just got the best news ever. I was Approved!!

I want to share something with you all i called the USCIS to inquire about my case because it had passed the 5 month period so i was going to attempt to recieve a service request but i was told to wait 16 more days. Iwas upset and i started to think. I decided to call the NVC and they told me my case was already sent to the proper country. WOW how did USCIS miss this. To get clarification called USCIS back and asked for a supervisor, he told me i was approved on March 14th. So happy as hell i just asked that a NOA2 be sent back out because i never recieved one.

I suggest everyone who has been waiting pass the 5 month mark to call NVC because USCIS sucks!!!!!
