Question 7 asks for employer name and address. I am currently unemployed and a full time student. Do I simply put N/A? For my annual income, I do not work, but I get financial aid...do I list this amount and attach a copy of my financial aid award letter?

Question 10 asks "I have submitted a visa petition(s) to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) on behalf of the following person(s). If none, state none." Does that mean this fiance petition, or is it asking about any previous petitions? I'm assuming it means previous, but I want to make sure I'm correct.
wacko.gif
And what is Q11 asking? The way I'm reading it, is that they want to know if there's a set in stone option that the sponsor is willing to support. If my fiance moves in with me and lives here in my household like a normal couple do, do I need to fill in room and board for x amount of years? Is that assumed already? Which box is correct? Also, when my co-sponsor fills this question out, which option do they check? She's willing to help with whatever expenses come up that we can't manage, but there's no, "I will pay such and such each month for living expenses, or give such and such in allowance every month," etc. This one is confusing me!

Thanks!

Always read carefully and interpret literally. Your annual income is quite applicable, so do not answer N/A. If zero, so state. You can indicate your college name and student as occupation instead of "unemployed".
"Have filed" is past tense in this question. If you're filling out an I-134 it's because you already filed a petition. Write your fiance's name there. On 11, K visa sponsors can simply check no but your fiancee will probably like it better if your write, "N/A, K1 fiance visa"

You'll find the guides and example forms quite helpful.

Ditto Pushbrk. Pushbrk's advice helped me with our interview and he is exactly correct. when I answered the "have you filed a petition" question, I put my fiancee's name and "K-1 visa filed with this affadavit" Perhaps redundant.

I have huge worries about Q11 from the affidavit of support. My fiance answered with "no/I don not intened caz he understood this is not applicable for us.But after I've seen this forum..N/A is the most common answer at this q11.
What can we do in this case?I am afraid he can't fill in another form because he's living in New Orleans and because of the storm over there all the public notary may be closed for another 2 weeks..and my interview is on 18,September.He's planning to come with me...He's supposed to be here on 16 if there're not any problems with the airport. Can he notorize the affidavit here in Romania? Is it the same thing?Or it is better to take with us at the interview the other one(with the answer:I don\t intend, but notorized in the States)

thanks a lot in advance!

I thought the answer to #11 was self evident since this is part of an application for K1 (Marriage) visa. I answered it saying " I intend to marry Yulia and to fully support her till death do us part."

You can get it notorized in Romania or go to the US embassy and get an officer to certify the signiture.

Oh well Thanks!

So you think that we go in the same date with the interview to the embasy and get an officer to certify the signiture. He's coming here on 16,September and the interview is on 18,September.

To you think that I can call to the embasy and ask about that?I already sent them an e-mail.Do you think that I have chances to receive an answer my e-mail.

I don't know what to say anymore. The embasy answered me and told me very clear that I-134 doesn't need to be notorized....

hello everyone!

I am new here.I have my K1-interview at the romanian US embasy on 18,september.My fiance is coming with me.
We are worried about few things.I'm gonna sumarize some of them:
-first we are worried if $ 55,000-annual wage is enough to sponsor me.Do we need a co-sponsor?
-what else does he need besides:Affidavit of support,w-2(2007),statements from the bank, letter from the employer?
-I am worried because by mistake I signed DS-156(one of them, they were 2) and I called to the embasy. They said it's oke but I am still worried.
-i didn't write down my address from Bucharest (I was student here and now I am workin here, but I didn't change my address ever..I lived "illigaly")
in one of the forms that I filled in first(that was sent to USCIS) ,but now in DS-s that I sent to the embasy I put my address from Bucharest

Thanks a lot in advance!

The affidavit of support will also require a copy of his federal income tax return for 2007. As to the address matter, as long as they have all of your recent addresses, they can "check you out" through Interpol if they wish.

Hello again!

That was fast:)

Well it's just me and him.No other dependents.
W-2 (2007)is the income tax return form that he has.We have a copy of that.
Now I just realised that he answered with No at the q11 from the affidavit. He didn't know what do they mean.He will try to fill in another one and type:N/A as I've seen on this forum. But because of the storm that is coming over there(New Orleans) all the places where he can notorize it are closed. And if they don't open in 2 weeks can we notorize it in Romania? Is it the same place?
What do you think? Is it possible for him to be asked at the embasy about this??

Thanks! blink.gif

So guys..
What do you think about his "No"answer at the question 11 in the affidavit?I am very worried and we really dont't have how to change it in time. Can he notorize it here in Romania? Is it the same thing?I am really worried about the storm over there that can dammage the airport and that might be bad. He's supposed to be here on 16 and the interview is on 18.

He doesn't have to bring anything but it's a good idea to have a copy of everything on hand and to have sent you one months ago for your reference.

Visa interview questions can be about almost anything.

What do you mean "have sent to me one month ago"???To send me what? The copies of what he sent to USCIS?And why a month ago?

QUOTE (Old Dominion @ Feb 16 2009, 11:00 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
You could also have two or three such letters (affidavits) ready in the event you are interviewed for your AOS. They can't hurt. Sometimes the AOS is delayed until the applicant provides such additional evidence after the interview. Anyone, co-workers, neighbors, friends of in-laws, etc. can do these letters. They do not need to be notarized, just witnessed. USCIS will never go ask the letter-writers if they are truthful, so there is nothing for them to worry about.

Oke I got you all!

Thank you..u've always been helpful.

Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussionletters for removing conditions
Hello everybody

I just received my notice of action for biometrics.
I just read about removing conditions after two years.I know is very early to be worried about that but I was wondering if the two letters have to be necessarly from friends? Can they be from my husband's parents?
Because it's a shame but we don't really rely on any of his friends..mine are in Romania...and I think it will be a big deal to ask them to write letters for us and even more to notorize them.
What do you think?
Can my in-law-s friends write them?Even if they are my in-laws age?Or soma relatives that know us but they live far away in other states...in USA

Thank you!

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionIncome Requirement.. Question

Eh, even if it had been the requirement, you could have made that up easily with a few hundred bucks in the bank.

I know its a few weeks late and you have probably already resolved th problem but to be more specific I actually asked the embassy here in Buchurest because I'm a Peace Corps Volunteer so my income definitely wont cover it. Anyhow what they look for is if you dont meet the 125% minimum poverty level is that you have 3 times whatever amount it is that lack. For instance if you are missing the level by 10k U will need to have 30k in the bank.

In your case you will need to have 300 USD in the bank.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionNeed interview help...
Ok, so...

On August 4th I'm going to Romania to see my fiance and have an informal wedding. We have Noa1, and are in the process of waiting for Noa2. She was trying to figure out what papers she will need to have from me for the interview so I can just take them with me and after she gets her package she will already have them and won't have to wait for me to mail them to her taking even longer.

So does anybody know what kind of papers she will need from me at her interview? She said somebody told her that I need a letter from my employer, bank, and tax returns from the last 3 years. Is this true? Is it the same for everyone? I thought they would have already known all of this from when they are investigating before they give us Noa2. Should we just wait until she gets the package because it's different for every case?

Thanks in advance for any information.

If the house is mostly paid by his parents, then I find it normal for it to be in his name. In case of a divorce, why should someone who has not contributed much to a very large purchase walk away with half of it?

No ,i m in the same situation here and my parents are giving me some money for a house ,but i will never buy a house in my name when you are married everything should be in both names,She loved him to bring him here, get him a new life is time for him to give back.I m sorry but some ppl are still thinking old fashion ...And is a hugeeeee red flag.

Hmm, I dunno about moving people. Cause you originally filed with VSC. Plus, not everyone was moved to CSC, some were just to local offices. It's gonna get real confusing with two service centers and a bunch of local offices listed. Just my opinion though. But hey, if that's what everyone wants, I can do that. But I'll need to know where people were transferred to...

Hey go my transfer letter today ,we got move to csc ...hope we ll get a faster approval .
