Harsh, I think most of us are there with you, addicted to VJ, hoping for NOA2 so we can get on with the process.

As for me, a touch yesterday, and a touch today, but no approval....hopefully that means an approval Monday and not a RFE.

Im in the same boat, wih you , had touches on the 15 and 16, still no communication,

Me too...aren't you dying??? This wondering is making me absolutely crazy!! I almost want to go somewhere where there is no internet for a few days just so I can chill my nerves... wacko.gif I'm so glad to have the VJ family! Can you imagine going through this all alone? No one in the "outside world" understands what we go through. Love you guys!!! biggrin.gif

Yeah, no one else really gets it. I get asked all the time "isn't your fiance going to be here soon?", or my favorite "don't you know anything yet" Nice to have some other people who get it and know what's up.

It looks like things will be pretty easy after the NOA2, at the Kenyan embassy I can pretty much call and set up my interview date when I want it. So as long as the interview goes alright I think I can have my babe home before March...that would be awesome!

I just keep praying mine shows up in the mail. It is very common for CSC to have no touches or e-mail and it just shows up. That means I could have been approved last week and just didn't know it. It does make me a tad worried that all the Aug. approvals were mid Aug. and I am beginning Aug. I think it means I am at the back of the box of the guy who still hasn't approved the July people. :-)

Happy- I live inbetween Tates creek and Alumni. Kind of a run down nieghborhood, but it means cheep rent. I am trying to save money because USCIS is taking to much of it :-)

I am just happy my car still works, I really didn't think it was going to. I kind of think it must have just been some punk kid who didn't know what he was doing- otherwise I would have woken up to no car.

I moved here for work, and I don't know anyone in Kentucky yet except for the 2 guys that work in the office. We should have a Kentucky VJ meet-up :-)
I can't wait to have my man here to explore Kentucky with. The time went by easier when I was with my friends and family but now that I am here alone it is a lot harder.
On a sad note, someone tried to steal my car last night. Luckly they were bad car thiefs and I still have my car, after spending 20 min struggeling to get the screw drive that they broke off in the ignition out.

Wow we must have been quiet yesterday, we dropped to page two. I think it must be the quiet before the storm. I really think there is a possibility that an Aug. filer could be approved in the next week. Lots of mid-late July filers are being approved. Maybe it is still wishful thinking, but hoping for a xmas noa2.
Really 4 months have gone by pretty fast looking back on them, but I am ready to see my man again!!!!

So I have lurked around this thread for a while, have posted in the CSC Aug thread but it seems to be pretty dead now. I am at 78 on Igors!!! Have had huge jumps in the last couple weeks and it has me excited. Our time is coming soon, I can feel it. I am still hoping for the old time-line estimate as apposed to the new one which says I won't be approved until late Jan-Feb. Still have my fingers crossed for a Christmas present from USCIS.

yeah there are several Dec approvals that got AP....at this point I wouldn't even mind AP if they just knew where my stinking petition was! Not sure what happened in December, they were cranking out approvals so maybe they were just making more mistakes. I keep praying and I am really hoping my petition will show up this week.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsAnyone get NOA2 from California in december?
I spent a better part of yesterday on the phone with people trying to find my case. I first called NVC to see if by chance it should up, it has not. I called CSC, talked to one lady who was obviously reading her que cards. She told me to call then NVC, I said I had, she then said I could try the consulate, I said I had. She then transferred my call to a hire-up who, who was rude and soooo unhelpful. She said there is no way to track the case because once it is approved they just assume that they have forwarded it to the NVC! That is what she said, they assume, and I said well what if there was a human error and it was put on the wrong pallet, she said that is very rare. She then told be it could take 160 days to show up!!!!! I said but then my approval notice will be expired ans she said well you should hope that is shows up before then!!!! I wanted to scream and cry when I hung up.

I think our petition was bundled togeather, same approval day and both lost, who knows what the heck they did with it!!

I think my petition must have been sent with yours. I was approved Dec. 19th and NVC says it doesn't have my petition either. It is really frustrating I thought it would be at the consulate by now.

So 2 days after I sent my I 129F my boss offered me a HUGE raise. The catch? I have to move to Kentucky (I am in WA). So as of September first I will be living in Kentucky. I will now need to change my address. I can have stuff send to the address I used in WA, I have used it as my permanent address for many years. My question is when in the process should I file my change of address? Will it be easier if I do it at any certain stage in the process?

I agree with hyacent she is a working citizen who does not have enough income. She is trying her best . I think you all BASH people to quick You all are a bunch of BASHERS. Stoop the bashing on here and get a life

I don't see anybody bashing the OP in the least. Sometimes the best way to help somebody is to get them on the track of helping themselves.

We have very little information about the OP or her situation, so lacking information, we know only that she has too little income to sponsor a fiance. Until recent posts, we had no idea there were children involved (evidently at least two but actual number unknown) so could only assume the income was under the quite low threshold for a household of two. When left to form impressions based on limited information, people will often come to the wrong conclusions.

We are not going to be able to help her find a co-sponsor but with enough information, we may be able to help her figure out how to qualify. For that to happen, the OP will need to focus on providing facts instead of lashing out at people trying to help.

All that said, we're still talking about two adults here who need to figure out the financial aspects of immigration and marriage. We can help, but the problems and solutions belong to the two of them.

Maybe it's my overactive sense of empathy, but I do feel a lack of sympathy, not necessarily anger, and it seems like a lot of the posts responding are just: "You're s*** out of luck, deal with it" style comments. I'll offer my opinion and a little background and hope it will help.

First, I am actually a Department Director at a facility and we employ over a dozen CNA's; they work incredibly hard and are often short-staffed, and the instability of income comes from the patient census, itself; if the Admissions Department isn't generating enough patient admits, everybody's hours, nurses, CNA's, even other Directors get their hours cut to meet budgetary guidelines - that's a corporate decision of which the actual facility, unless independent, has little to no control over; most facilities are required by corporate to meet and NOT exceed the MINIMUM guidelines for staffing; in my state, the guidelines mandate only one CNA per every 8 patients, and if those patients are all high acuity and require a lot of attention, that's a full day on your feet with no breaks tending to the 70 call lights that come on at any given time. It honestly seems like she's doing the best she can right now and I would never tell someone that money should be a prohibitive factor to two lovers being together; I know that you, specifically, aren't saying that, but it seems like some of the others are at least implying if not directly saying it.

It really doesn't seem like any one was trying to bash the OP, just give facts. The fact is money shouldn't be a prohibitive factor in two people in love being together, but the fact is it is a prohibitive factor when you are trying to bring that lover to America.

The people giver her advise to find a way to make more money were correct, they didn’t know the situation because of lack of details, but money is a factor in a K1 visa. So she really has 2 options (maybe more that I don’t know about) find a co-sponsor, or find a way to up her income. It’s not met to be heartless, it is sadly just the facts in filling a petition.

Maybe, this post sounds heartless too, I really don't mean it that way, but I don't think it was right to say people who were giving her advice, or stating facts were bashing her.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresswitching service Centers??
so I have a question, I am seeing all these Aug and September VSC being approved already. I filed my I129F in aug at CSC and a week later my boss asked me to move to KY. Well now I live where I could apply at VSC. I am tempted to resubmitt my I129F to VSC, and cancel my CSC one. Other then losing the $455 what do you think the negative repercussions of this would be?
Thanks!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresletters describing relationship
That is not true, to submit the i129F petition the letter does not have to be an original, your fiance will just have to present the original at her interview.

Also I am wondering when she interviews they will know that she does not speak English so won't it look funny that she signed a statement that she obviously couldn't write or even read? I don't know if this will be a problem, I just think it will look funny.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCriminal Record
I think the question on the form states have you EVER been convicted of crime (I think it even says, even if the record was sealed). Be as honest as possible, give the details, crime you were convicted of, year at least if you don't remember the date, this probably isn't considered a crime of moral turpitude, but you might want to do some research on it just in case. Say the record was closed and that's why you don't have facts and it doesn't show up on a police report. Also the fact that you had no jail time plays in your favor.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresk-1 help
you also need to understand that there a A LOT of expenses with filling a petition, to file the petition it is 455, (this not include all the money spend photo copying, gather evidence (copy of birth cer., pictures, ext), then there is the interview fee 131.00, plus medical (hopefully if he really is rich he will be paying for this, but most of us with African fiancés have had to help at least a little with this). Then airfare (a one way ticket from Africa is almost as expensive as a round trip) and finally adjustment of status which is over 1,000.00. If you are struggling for money now, you really need to be aware of how expensive this all gets. I am struggling to make it, and I work full time and have no kids.

Unfortunately this immigration process is not made easy or cheep, so if you are poor it is really hard to do.

You also should look in the regional sub Sahara form, the people there are pretty honest, and you will hear the successful stories of those marrying an African and also the stories of fraud.

Also, the Lagos embassy is one of the hardest to go through; it is a very long process for most.

One more thing is even if your fiancé is has a lot of money there, his economic status might change in the US. Most schooling or job experience will pretty much count for nothing here, and will probably have to take a job he would consider to be menial in Nigeria. He will probably not be making the same competitively, especially when things are so expensive here.

PS. Don't take my word on any of the price quotes, they could be more now, ready the guides, do the research, so you know what you will be getting yourself into.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresWife is Canadian; But resident of S.Korea. Where is interview?
Hi everyone... my first post here! Glad to see so much activity in these forums. We had been living in Calgary, Canada for the past 8 years. Then I got a job in the US. I have dual citizenship. So during our time of separation (I hate every minute of it), my wife and children are residing in S.Korea, where my wife can get support from her immediate family. So now as we progress through the IV steps, I'm wondering where the interviews will be for my wife. We really want them to be here in South Korea. Anybody know where might the interviews be for our situation? Thanks!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresCanadian police certificate: Is this the main bottleneck??
My wife needs a Canadian police certificate. She is residing in S.Korea so she can't get it in person (which is easy and fast). So she has to get fingerprinted here in S.Korea and have the prints sent to the RCMP and then it is processed in up to 120 days. That's really bad news. Anyone have experience with this? Is this true? How long did it take in your case and is there any alternative? Your input will be much appreciated.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresCanadian Police Certificate
I ran into a similar problem of getting a police certificate from outside the country. I had a friend of a friend who was an RCMP officer. He got it for us, thankfully. Your information is very valuable to others who might be in the same boat. I wasn't sure what else I would have done at the time (full-fingerprint requests take 3-4 months!). We were even considering my wife returning to Canada just for getting the police record.

QUOTE (kzumel @ Jul 10 2009, 07:18 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
This is an update for people who were interested in getting a Canadian police certificate from outside the country. I am not saying this will work for everyone. My husband lived in Canada for 2 years. He is now in Brazil, immigrating to the US. We went through COmmissionaires to get a name-based certificate. we submitted this and were initially told it was not acceptable. I sent letters to NVC indicating that this was a name-based certificate based on CPIC search by RCMP and was identical to that we would would get if we were "present" in Canada. I also contacted a state congressperson who inquired for us as well. While her office did not get any additional information, 2 weeks later we have received notification that Gustavo is scheduled for an interview. The letter that was sent from NVC says the police certificate was accepted. What ever the reason, I am grateful and can't wait for this process to be over so our life together can begin.
