WOW CONGRATS!!!! THAT IS SOOOO GREAT!!! I knew we would hear good news from you today!! That is so awsome!!

Hey I have one more question, The documents you gave to the lady for the interview do they give you them back?

Okay time for more questions. :-)

1. How long has it been taking for Dr. Asagos office to get results back?
2. When does the interview fee need to be paid.
3. I am confused about the fees and I just want to make sure I have this right. The 131.00 for the interview is paid to BOA and NOT the consulate? But the medical is paid directly to the Dr. office correct.

I am trying to figure out a time line so Allan only has to go to Nairobi once. I was thinking if he left on a Tuesday, we could schedule the medical for Wednesday. Do you think the results would be done so we can schedule the interview for the very next Monday. Then hopefully by Tuesday or Wednesday he could have visa and hand and be headed back to Uganda? Does this sound plausible? I am worried about all the expenses of a hotel for that long or 2 trips back and forth by bus from Kampala.

Shefeel if you are still around I may have to hire you to be Allan's tour guide :-) lol. He says he will be fine but I am worried about him as he has never been out of Uganda.

I did ready the post by numan and a couple others, I think there are 4 of us going through the same thing, it is interesting because we were all approved on Dec. 19th or 20th. Numans was sent to the national records storage center instead of to the NVC, from the letter I got back from my congressman it sounds like where mine went too. Makes me wonder if there was a new guy doing approvals and he just kept the i129f in the file that goes the the records storage instead of pulling it and sending it to the NVC. I am so glad I wrote my congressman instead of waiting the 90 days like CSC and NVC were telling me to do. I am praying that I will know something by next week, I sure am ready to have my Allan here!

So I go the letter back from my congressman. It is basically the response he got from the CSC, it basically said, they will pull the I129F from their warehouse and will see where it was sent and that it could take up to four weeks to get the file from their warehouse. Well atleast finding something out in four weeks is better then having to wait 90 days. Hopefully good news will come soon.

Yes, we must always give praise and thanks to the Lord Jesus Christ!!!!

My fiance has his medical scheduled for Feb. 10.....the same day as SheFell's interview, so I will be saying a double prayer that day!!!

I also ask in Jesus' name for Soon~tobe's file to be found and processed in an expeditious manner!!!!

Thanks for the prayers, we have been praying so much this week. I wrote my congressman yesterday, I haven't heard back but hopefully I will. I wrote my one from WA (the address on my petition, and state of Residance). My pastor yesterday offered for write the KY (the state a I am living in for 1 year for work) for me as he is a close friend of his. So maybe between the two of them something will get done.

I did call this morning and still not there, I am going to try to not call again till next Monday. My fiance did go pick up his police record today and got MMR immunization. I have all the documents I need to send him together and will sending it FedEx tomorrow, that way we should be ready as soon as the petition is in Nairobi. We are still really hopeful for an April 25th wedding, we want to get married on that day for a lot of sentimental reasons...but will see, I will be more hopeful when the petition shows up. I know lots of people are praying and now it is in God's hands

I am still here, finding it harder to check here, it is just easier to be numb right now. My packet is still missing. CSC says they sent it and NVC says they don't have it, we are now past 6 weeks of it missing. I am sending a letter to my congressman tomorrow. I don't think they can do anything before 90days, but I want to include my NOA2 which says I can start calling the NVC after four weeks, and now it is well past four weeks. I a have a twinge of hope that maybe if my congress man looks into it they will at least track it and see where they really sent it.
I am praying lots and hoping it shows up.

I am fiance is going to get his MMR shot in Uganda and take the immunization record with him, hopefully that will save us a little bit of money on the med exam. I am also going to try to call the consulate tomorrow and beg them to give us our medical paper work now, so he can go over next week to do the medical that way when the petition finally shows up we can schedule the interview as soon as a date is available.

Shefell, keep us update on if those financial papers are enough, I don't have my tax records but I do have several old pay stubs, notarized affidavit of support and employer letter, so I think it should be okay. It is about the same evidence you have.

I was planning on going to the interview with my SO and I really really wanted to, my heart missed Africa so much, but i just don't think I can afford it. Everyone's reports lately seem positive so I think I will just let him go alone.

Good luck everyone!!!

SheFell....Congratulations on your case making it to the embassy without great delay!!!! Keep us posted!!!!

Soon~tobe.....have you tried posting a question out to the general forum to see what may be the reason that NVC can't find your case? Have you actually talked to people there? or are you just plugging in the number to the automated system? because the K1 visas don't show up in the NVC automated system. I hope you get good news soon.

Congrats shefell! I am glad they have your NOA2. Good luck getting everything scheduled.

NVC is still claiming it doesn't have my case....grrr makes me so sad, I really didn't think I would have to worry about the NVC part of the journey. If I have to wait 90 days before they will do anything I sure won't get my April wedding. sad.gif

Thanks luvhas!!

I have a question does the NVC show that they have recived your package and just not processed it?They say they don't even have mine.

It is so nice to have this group where we can help eachother. i do feel blessed we are going through kenya as apposed to some other african cunsulates. Kenya seems to be fairly easy to get through.

I was hoping to have my SO here by the end of Feb, but now I will probablly move that back to March. We are still in the home strech though!!

That's crazy that all three of us are in the same boat! There was 3 packets sent to Kenya in late DEC. in one way I wonder if they are ours and some how NVC screwed up.

Every time I have talked to the NVC, they said it cold take up to 90 days, which I think is kind of like the 6 month rule at CSC and VSC, meaning they won't do anything till then. We will be 4 weeks from approval on Friday.

Let us know what you find out when you call the embassy, because then I will send Allan a copy of the approval and send him to Kenya. That would be good and at least I would feel like we were making some progress again.

Hey Mad, I have a question. When you went to pick up your medical papers from the Embassy did you have to schedule a time or just show up and when you showed up what did you tell them? My case seems to be stuck and NVC but I was hoping to maybe get a head start by sending Allan to get his medical done. Does anyone think it is possible to get the medical done before the embassy has my packet?

My babe and I were talking today about wether or not I should go to the interview. I really want to but I think money is going to be an issue. But, then I keep thinking if I don't go and we are denied and me being there could have been beneficial some way, then I would have not cared charging the ticket and going.

Also looks like my petition is MIA somewhere between CSC and NVS, I really thought it would be in Kenya this week. Sadly NVS says they haven't seen it.

It feels like I kind of hit a wall in the last week or two. Allan got really sick with malaria, I wish I could have been there with him. The phone connection has been terrible lately I feel like we haven't really talked in like a month. I just can't wait any longer.

I know EXACTLY what you are feeling. My wall was a few months ago. I totally broke down when we got cut off for the third time in a row. It is really difficult to maintain good communication over the phone from such a long distance. But the good thing is that there is an end in sight. And once you get your NOA2 it goes SO much faster! I just want you to know that you are in my thoughts and you have a friend here! I will be in Uganda until the first or second week of February so if you are going to be there during that time--let me know!

Good luck everyone!

As long as my NOA2 comes sometime soon I am hoping to schedual the interview the first or second week of Feb. I am not spending another holiday (even if it is just valantines) alone.
So if I am there we should grab coffee at Rwenzori cafe, or better yet dinner at Mamba point!!

Also my other fav. indulgence in Ugandan is a massage at the golden lilly 40,000 sh/ for an hour and 1/2 and it is like a western massage parlor. 3 hour pedicures and Sparkles are great too....Sorry just missing luxaries Ugandan style

Shefell- are are planning on going to Kenya for the interview? I am planning to. Maybe we will be there around the same time our timelines are very close.

Madwoman- I saw the vermont Aug approvals, hoping CSC kicks out something soon. It seems like with the ability to set our own interview date and medical everything should be able to go pretty quick from there on out. I can't wait to see my Allan. It feels like I kind of hit a wall in the last week or two. Allan got really sick with malaria, I wish I could have been there with him. The phone connection has been terrible lately I feel like we haven't really talked in like a month. I just can't wait any longer.

I am hoping to have Allan go to the medical a couple days before I come, then I fly in on a weekend and we have our interview the following monday or tue. Hopefully can be approved and get the visa and then spend a week togeather in Uganda before flying home together. We are hoping to have some sort of pre-wedding reception there, but it will probably thrown together last min.

Nimo, hope you hear about it soon!!!

Hey all, I didn't want our thread to dissapear. Also I have a question, I know some consulates are mainly concerned with what the sponsor currently makes and if that will hold up in the future, and some want to show the 125 % of poverty line for the last 3 years. For those that have already gone through Nairobi, what has been your experience? This year i will make above the amount needed, but last year, when I was in Africa I didn't file taxes because I had no income, as I was volunteering in Uganda. I am planing on having my parents co-sponsor if necessary but I am wondering how necessary it is. I am going to the interview with my man, so I thought about him handing over my sponsorship papers and in the co says anything having my parents ready to hand him. What do you all think?

I am so glad you started this thread Madwoman, it was a good idea.

For those of you that had already been through Nairobi, I would love to know some (or all, but trying to not be too greedy) of the questions the interviewer asked you. I did read on someone's profile that they were asked SO father's middle name and the city the SO was born in....my SO and I had not talked about either of those things. So it would be nice to know if there is anything else I am overlooking.

I am planning on going to the interview with my CO, praying it is soon, cus I can’t wait to see him again.
We really want to get married the last week of April so I hope we can actually make that happen. I haven’t reserved anything yet; just because I know we can’t be assured he will be here by then. But, all this new info about not waiting for packet ¾ and just going to the embassy to pick it up gives me LOTS of hope!!
I have bought my dress, and have my table decorations, and my invitations, all just waiting around so I can throw together a wedding as quick as I can.
I haven’t seen really anyone on here from Kenya on AP, but I did have a Rwandese friend, who went through Kenya be put on AP. I think they have to do extra security checks with Rwandese because of 1994. Hopefully none of us will be place on AP though.
Okay sorry for the super long post, I am board at work today ;-)

National Visa Center (Dept of State)Lost 129F CSC to NVC
Hi All,

So my I129F was approved on Dec. 19th 2008. Today would be the 6 week mark. I have called NVC at least twice again since the 3rd week. I have talked to a live person (just covering all the questions people will ask) and every time I am I told, my petition is not in the system and that means they haven't received it. They say it normally takes 2-4 weeks but could take up to 90. My NOA2 says if you haven't received notice from the NVC after 4 weeks to start calling. Can I use that to send to my Senator or Congressman to get them to start looking for my petition, or do I have to wait the full 90 days?
Both CSC and NVC say they don't have my case, I am afraid it is lost somewhere and I don't want to wait 90 days to find this out. I already have a church reserved for April 25th (yes, I know stupid, I can change it but there are sentimental reasons we wanted to get married on this date). If I wait the full 90 days to find out they lost it, then I really doubt we will get to get married on this date.

Has anyone contacted a senator before the 90 days, what has been the result? Any other advice would be appreciated.

I would say if the embassy says they have your case then it is probably fine, both NVC and the service centers, have been known to not send out letters by mistake from time to time.

National Visa Center (Dept of State)NVC HELP!!!
QUOTE (Mark Tatyana @ Feb 9 2009, 05:31 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I thought I was the only one in this predicament.
I was approved Dec. 22nd at CSC.
So far it has been about 50 days and NVC has absolutely no information about my case.
I did receive a touch on Jan. 29th and again on Feb. 9th. I don't know what that means other than it is still at CSC if it is getting touched.

So far, CSC has let me file a service request. The service request is dated 30 day's from the date that I filed it which was Jan. 23rd. meaning, I should not expect any information for about 30 day's as far as them trying to locate my file. But at least I have a reference number from them so it seems somewhat official.

As I call CSC about every other day they also told me about filing a "WTC" not sure what a WTC is but I thought what can it hurt. The request is for there EDMS which is their Electronic Document Management System. I received a 10 digit reference number and was told they will look to see what Batch Number my file was placed with. Once they locate the Batch number they will have a better idea of where my file is. With this request, they took my home phone and cell phone and told me to expect a call by Tuesday or Wednesday of this week. I can only hope...............

I will let you know if any of this helps.

Also, please let me know if they find yours as well.

Thanks,
Mark.

I haven't heard back from my congressman yet, but i woulg suggest writting yours too. My guys would be your touches are from you calling and checking on the petition. Let me know how this works for you and maybe I will try the same thing.

Thereare now at least 3 of us (maybe four) that were approved dec. 19th at CSc and got lost on the way to NVC. Seems like they miss placed a whole box. I have called both centers, neither will give me any information other than to say wait 90 days! I keep telling them, well the approval notice exprires before then, one rude supervisor even said "well you better hope it shows up before then". i contracted my congressman this week, I don't think it will do much good, but I had to atleast try.

Hopefully because there are a couple of us (and probablly more who are not on VJ) maybe when one is found they will find all of them, because i really think they were together, all aprroved the same day and all going the same place.

good luck!
