K-3 Spouse Visa Process & Procedureslast addressed you lived together?

hi everyone! :)

im about to file for my husband's I-130. im in the part where it says, "address of last place you lived together". please help me on this. here's our story:

- we've been together since 2001, lived together at my family's house (Makati City, Philippines) around november of the same year
- i migrated to the US in 2003
- got married in the Philippines last Dec 23, 2006. i stayed with him in his Quezon City house for two months before flying back to the US.

ive gone home every year since i left. i always stay with him at his QC house. so in the form, do i just state the last two months we lived together, is this going to be acceptable? or is putting the two years (2001-2003) going to be better?

i dont know if i made sense. =)

thanks you all.

izy

on our case my husband (petition) put their address here in qc wer i am currently residing and we've been together here for just a month after our wedding.
as of now we don't have any problems about that
so better state the last address u live together

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionCFO SEMINAR

I would NOT wait until the 12th if shes leaving on the 13th...Thats zero margin for error in the Philippines....I don't like the odds.

Alan and everyone else, thanks for your comments, I will have her take the seminar Friday the 9th, can someone post the link to the CFO seminar site and just to confirm, I understand that there is a 650 pesos fee. If anyone is interested in a cheap hotel in the Manila area, check out the

Does anyone know the procedure for attending the cfo seminar, can you attend anytime, my fiancee is leaving on the 13th of this month and I wanted to know if she went there on the 12th if that would be sifficient time

if she got her visa already,
i guess it's sufficient if she'll able to attend the 10am seminar,
that will give her enough time to to get the sticker for her passport,

another option also, she can have the seminar ealier even without a visa yet, then just come back for the sticker if she got her visa

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionNVC to Consulate located on the same continent

---and stress ---and worry

I had read that earlier today the member ELW had been finally gotten to the bottom of their Pkt 3 question and it is from there that my question comes. It took 8 days from actual NVC sent date to the consulate in INDIA receiving ELW's petition.

My fiancé received the notice that NVC received our petition on Feb4/07 and, like ELW noted, told him via a notice that the petition would be sent out within the week. Don't know if this actually happened at this point. One week from Feb4 is Feb11. 4 weeks was Mar4---a Sunday---so, say Mar5 instead.

Why would it take more than 4 weeks to go from the NVC to the Consulate in Vancouver, Canada?

Has anyone experienced such an elongated wait for Pkt 3 recently?

Looking for guidance and comfort.
THX
---nearly entirely sleepless---

this is what i have read here...
NVC forwards the docs to the Consulate when there's an interview date already....
so I guess yours is on the process of scheduling for an interview

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionCFO requirement in PI
your fiancee can't leave the Philippines without the CFO sticker.

Here my question:
In Philippines, it is required for fiancee to attend CFO seminar and get certificate in passport before going to airport to fly?

No where is this a US visa requirement but some say is PI requirement.

If we didnt do seminar, what would happen? Wat would be the issues?

Thanks a million!

thanks dims1 and Michael and Milahjean. we were worried coz many of the uploaded examples here are colored while we received b/w. wish i could've just emailed rather than send it. could've saved $50 but it's not worth taking risk that will delay this process even more. my wife got her package at the time FedEx promised, 2 hours earlier than scheduled. so st. lukes on monday for her.

:help: my husband will apply an ITIN for me... my question is:

is it required that a copy of passport be notarized when applying for ITIN?
do i have to go to US embassy to have it notarized or the public notary will do?

thanks! :help:

I have been dealing with this issue recently myself. The latest I've been able to read is that the officers at the US Embassy are not authorized to notarize a Philippine passport. What is reccomended is to go to the nearest DFA office where the passports are issued, and get a certified copy of your passport. You will receive a copy of the biographic page which has been certified by the DFA. Submit this along with a xerox of the pages of the passport with information or stamps, along with your tax return and the W7 form.

my wife went to the DFA. lines are terribly long. we were gonna pay someone to "hook it up" but he wanted about 1,500php compared to i think 150php. we opt to do it ourselves since we had time to do it. the process took roughly 10 business days to get the DFA documents. she sent it to me and now i'm gonna be filing my taxes on sunday. i will also make a copy of the W7 to bring with us to the interview.

thanks!

pls. keep me updated about ur filing for taxes

is that the only requirement - the colored copy of passport and DFA doc? for ITIN

thanks again!

My asawa went to the DFA Regional Office in her province and they generated a certification letter with signature and seal that I included with our W7 attached to my 2006 tax return. I sent a color photocopy of the biographic info page from her passport with the letter.

Thanks!

i guess i have to go to DFA to get a certification letter

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionManila Embassy Interview

Hi,

No, the embassy will not notarize anything for you. Any notary in the PI will do, IRS isnt that picky. I just had my wife make a color copy of bio page of passport and her PI DL (they need two forms of picture id) and had it notarized, then for my step daugher her bio page and school id. Thats all you need...and original signature on w-7 and 1040.

ok thanks! :help:

so a notarized colored copy of my passport and driver's license will do...
together with the w-7 and 1040..

another question on the w-7, i have to signed it? or my huband who will be my delagate?
and on the delegate relationship to applicant should i checked power of attorney?
also i have to fill-up the 1040?

thanks a lot!

it says here on this website http://manila.usemba...v/wwwha005.html that

W-7 Application

The Embassy Consular officers can authenticate originally signed birth certificates and marriage contracts issued by the Philippine National Statistics Office (NSO) (Obtaining Public Documents) in Quezon City, Philippines in support of applications for US taxpayer ID numbers, ITIN (W-7) application (Tax Assistance). Other documents required by the ITIN (W-7) may be certified by the issuing agency or official custodian of the original record.

Fee: $30(or its peso equivalent per transaction

if i understand it right, i have to get a certified copy of my passport at DFA and then have it notarized at the US embassy? before i have to send it to my husband who will file for my ITIN in the States.

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & Procedurestravel to US with tourist visa but w pending K3
Hi everyone. We have a pending K3 application, still waiting for our NOA2. My husband is still here in manila and managed to be here for the last few months, we're both lucky that he can work away from home. I have a US tourist visa, I already visited him last year (but we were not married yet at that time and i was using my old passport with my maiden name, now i have to renew it with my new surname), and were thinking of the possibility of me going with him next month to look for a house and try to settle things. I have every intention of coming back here, it is just going to be a month or so vacation. I was just wondering if any of you have tried that before.... Thank you again. Good luck to everyone.

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & Procedureswill pregnancy affect household size
We received our case number from NVC a week ago and also found out that I am 5 weeks pregnant. My husband will be receiving the Affidavit of Support soon (my mother-in-law will be a co-sponsor) and we are wondering if the unborn baby changes the household size from 2 to 3 persons? Will appreciate any feedback from someone who knows something about it.. thank u very much.

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & Proceduresneed advice for CR1 n K3 situation
thank u for your responses. i understand that CR1 route is way much better than the K3 for the reason that no AOS, etc needs to be done anymore. but just in case K3 package is already in Manila, does that mean that i will get an interview date (granted that i do all the requirements right away) sooner than doing the CR1? Our real concern right now is which one is the faster way to be together already. Thank u again.

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & Proceduresneed advice for CR1 n K3 situation
Hi everyone. My husband received a letter from NVC two weeks ago saying that they have received our documents from the 1-129F and that it will be forwarded to the Manila US Embassy. There was also a case number given. Two days after that, he got another mail from NVC with another case number and Invoice ID number. He paid the Affidavit of Support bill already using these. Maybe because of excitement, we didnt notice that there were two different case numbers given. We are in the process of sending in the I-864 and tax returns to NVC but he called NVC and found out that the first number given to us was for the K3 visa and the second for CR1. What do u advice should we do? Should i call Manila US Embassy to ask if they have our documents already? We just want to be together as soon as possible. Thank you in advance for your help. This forum has been a huge help.
