IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	My husband is still an an LPR Immigrant for 20 years help!	So,  he doesn't have to apply for naturalization citizenship and petition me to united states? even though he is only LPR? and he is only a collage student though...   Yup. For spouse of permanent residents, there is a wait for the visa number to become current. The wait is very short now. File soon before it gets longer.     If he doesn't have enough current income, yes, he will need to find a joint sponsor.     Not sure about this. I doubt it; he's not the one immigrating.     Absolutely false. If you're a citizen, you can leave the U.S. for however long you want and come back at any time.   But you're still a long way away from being a citizen. As a permanent resident, you need to maintain residency in the U.S. There starts to be questions if you leave the U.S. for more than 6 months; and you need to have a re-entry permit if you want to leave for more than a year.     It's up to you. If you wait until you're married for 2 years, or almost married for 2 years (so that by the time it gets approved, you'll have been married for 2 years), then you will skip the whole Removal of Conditions thing. I have several questions:   Can my Husband (Filipino Born) a LPR for 20 years Immigrant ( not yet a citizen) can petition me his wife to the U.S. even though he is still in college studying? Does Joint Affidavit of Support from his sister or mother can help?   He got a criminal record for attempted robbery when he was 18 years old (now hes 32) he was imprisoned for 2 days; will that affect our visa approval rate?   Is it true that when you are a newly citizen of america, you can't stay to other countries for vacation more than 4 weeks?   Or is it just better for us to wait for our 2nd Year Wedding Anniversary to start our Visa Journey?   please help i really don't know who can help us... i will really appreciate it! thank you	chibiyen	Not Telling	Philippines	2013-10-08 12:13:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	RFE	Well, unfortunately, my fiance received a RFE notice through text on march 2, 2012. Up until now, he haven't received it on the mail yet. How is that possible? I asked my fiance to call CSC on the 2nd week, but the guy he talked to on the phone told him to wait until the 15th day, so, we waited. A few days has passed, he goes home from work to check his mail, still no sign of RFE letter. It's frustrating. He called again Monday, the 19th, they told him they'll mail it again. But where is it? Almost a month delay. Is it normal? I feel so numb. It's not like i am not willing to wait if that is all it takes, but I just want to be with my baby already. Philippines	Is her Philippine degree worthless in the U.S???	Whoever said that education in the Philippines is meaningless doesn't know what they are talking about. I finished Highschool when I was 14. Finished college when I was 18. I started working a few months after graduation. I finished even earlier than the average age of 20. Was age ever a problem for me? Never. Like Steph, I honestly believe the education I received in the Philippines is a lot more extensive than what I see kids getting here. Like for example, some are so clueless about history or geography. I feel like I know more about the US and the world! A few days after I got my EAD, I started looking for jobs similar to what I had in the Phils. I submitted applications to several companies, all requiring Bachelors Degree related to IT. I never had any problems with them not accepting my application or being interested in me. In fact, I'll be signing a contract at the end of the month for one of the Fortune 500 companies here in the US. The rest is no difference. No Pinay needs a support group if they have a loving and supporting relationship with their husband. There isn't any time for that nonsense. There are a couple groups here but they are mostly Mindanao girls. In order to have unity, we need to have a common language understood by all. Just like with me responding to you in Tagalog, would you like that? No, because you don't know the language.    No Pinay needs a support group? The group is more than just that. I have a happy life and a wonderful husband but there are things I'd rather ask other women for some things, specially those that have gone through the same process and will understand the situation better. It's unfortunate, but fully understandable to the average American citizen after hearing about some of the things discussed and allowed on some of these groups, why during the CFO they have to instruct those coming to America on how to be respectable and how to represent the Philippines with pride, dignity, and some morals for God's sake. But hold on, I'm certainly not grouping the whole bunch together. I know scores, maybe even hundreds, of ladies from the Philippines that are very respectable and dignified. But as the old saying goes, "One bad apple can spoil the whole bunch". Even though we have to be careful not to allow ourselves to be this judgmental and do this type of stereotyping. And no wonder, when ladies want to post on a forum such as PL and some of the others that have spun off, talking about their hubby's dong, whether they spit or swallow, what positions they like...and on, and on, and on! I'm not saying you can't have some fun teasing each other about this and that...but to get so graphic and descriptive in a forum that is supposed to be for immigration help...GOD! Notice I said for "Immigration Help" which was the original intent of PL. If you want to get graphic about your sex life, then start a group for that purpose. Don't start, and allow it, in a group with over 500 members, when most of those that joined did so for the purpose of seeking help, or wanting to help others, on immigrating and adjusting to life here in the USA. Philippines	Link of Pretty Ladies in FB?	I am sorry I have to air this out, better to say my piece than make myself go nuts with anger. So I received a message from the admin of the PRETTY LADIES group. Apparently I said something foul to one of the members and that they have blocked me from the group for doing so. (accdg to their guidelines per se) So I replied and copy pasted the wall posts of that said member. I showed the admin how vulgar and tactless this member’s words are. Not everyone wants to know her sexual escapades because some people have morals and values that she clearly is lacking. All I did is rephrase her words and make her realize how foul her mouth is. She prides herself from being an English teacher and a professional but her words and actions make her seem no less than a bar girl. Countless times I have seen her pipe in in conversations and brag about her man’s goodies. Not only does she have a dirty mind, but she clearly is lacking from common sense. She saw this post in VJ and could not believe that people will speak out about what is really happening. She just thinks someone is out to ruin the group. So she called the people who reprimanded her for being moralists and being self-righteous. And guess what the admin did? She blocked me from the group. Why? ‘Cause that girl said I was being foul. What is funny is all the words I used, that she thinks is foul, came from the girl herself. It is ridiculous! She got mad because the truth hurts. No matter what explanation I give and evidence to show that all I did is say “no one wants to know that your man is blah blah blah..” I got the boot. Well, it is clear; it’s either they don’t have any common sense or no good grasp of the English language. They only see what they want to see, hear what they want to hear. They twist your words so it ends up wrong and take it way out of context. I showed her the evidences but it fell on deaf ears and blind eyes. I don’t care that I am no longer in that group. I was gonna leave anyway. I don’t care for all their drama. I just find it REALLY funny that I was there right from the start and this is what I get. We were even the ones who suggested creating a group! All that from a status message here in VJ when someone was out looking for friends. We made it grow, made it fun, made it helpful. It wasn’t a one person team. It was a GROUP effort. The creator of the group wasn’t even there most of the time. Now that it has grown so large, the idea of additional moderators doesn’t seem to be grasped by the group owner. People who dare speak out get booted. Kiss their bum and you are saved. So let the walls be filled with filthy mouths and flaming posts and trolls since simpletons thrive in that environment. And what conviction do the “moral and self-righteous people” get? Guilty. Judged without trial and removed from the group that they themselves created. It doesn’t matter that you were once friends and that you once helped her. Oh well, just another day. Unfortunately, we don't have a budget for it right now so we'll just have a civil wedding and plan something grand in a year or two. Being together as soon as possible is more important than a fancy ceremony so we both agreed to do it this way. We're both fairly young and will be starting over once I get there so I imagine it may take a while to get that dream wedding. However, it doesn't have to cost a fortune! I am doing mine in my home country. Im lucky enough to be part of a photography org and have tons of friends willing to cover my wedding for no to minimal fee! Maybe you can ask friends or family too if they can help Also, there are tons of sites in the internet to help you work with your budget and make it a dream wedding for less! I find http://www.stylemepretty.com/ really helpful. They have tons of wedding ideas, DIY projects and guides to help you plan your wedding. Etsy.com is also a good place to look for stuff you can use for the wedding. http://www.marthastewartweddings.com is also a great resource for ideas. Is your fiancee into arts and crafts? I am planning to do my own save the dates, invitations, souvenirs, bridesmaids jewelries, decor,etc.. even photography (if i can. jk hehe) when the time comes.
