Finally approved..while visiting my wife...initially they responded to my request saying I had to wait 60 more days..but yesterday they sent the notice that case was approved one day short of a year...still is better than keep waiting..so on to next step...FINALLY

Good morning...here I am still waiting for the approval. ..Pd.April 15th...and transferred to TSC on November 27th...it's been such a difficult ride..with no light at the end of the tunnel...it's just a matter of keep waiting...hopefully will end soon..I am happy for all those April's filers that recently got approved...I will edit and send and letter just like all those people did and hope for the best...in the meantime...good luck to everyone

Yes we applied as a group so maybe takes time. Hope I receive something today.

On DOB error will try to correct during interview but I think that will delay the citizenship as FBI name check is done in conjunction with DOB. Lets hope for the best.

By the way my field station is Atlanta GA.

When you receive NOA, it will have your personal information, such as name, address, and birth date. And it says that if any information is incorrect, contact them at one of the 800 numbers.

USCIS screwed up again. Just received a letter with right street address and city but wrong state and zip code. Still no green card.

And these people will be controlling health care. Can they do anything right? I know I have nothing to worry about but I won't believe it till I see my green card. In Florida I received driving license for 6 years with conditional green card without any problems without conditional status mentioned on the driving license.

Never received NOA letter. I received biometrics appointment letter one day before appointment with date of receipt (NOA).

You need two separate forms and pay two separate fees since you're filing for two people but you only need to send form G-325A for your wife.

Yes, there is a CR1 thread somewhere in this forum in Spanish, you just need to do an Advanced Search on it. You can also ask your own questions in the Colombia Club thread so they stay in one place and don't get lost with the rest of the topics being opened every day in this forum.

starting new cr1 process

I know about this site, and know there are people who are very knowlegdeable about many situations, so here is my question....I just got married in Colombia last month and want to start the cr1 process, but I don't know how to file for my wife and her childern, do i send one big package with all their information and required payment, or do I send their forms separately?, I'm the petitioner.....thanks for all the help and advice that you can provide, also, is there a spanish thread so my wife can learn about it too?

Colombia Club Part IV

I-130 for your wife and each individual child, only had one child, I had to fill out that G-325a and that I-864. Also an I-485 for each person, I-693, G-325a, and did that optional I-765 employment and school authorization, plus all the required evidence and one big fat check. Sent the entire package to the USCIS.

One major problem we had was getting that permission from that really didn't care about his own kid biological parent to bring his daughter her. Tried to blackmail us.
Another costly item was that I-693 for each person, my health insurance wouldn't cover that and can only be done by a USCIS approved doctor. But with the USCIS, the I-693 was fee free.

I think this was it.

Hi everyone, I'm new here and about to start a cr1 process, just got married a month ago, mY wife is in Colombia and im here in Usa, florida, I got a response from Diana about the paper work, she explained that I have to fill ( which I did during my trip) form G325, for only my wife, not for her sons, she also told me that I have to send separate payments for her and her children, I know I have to fill form 130 for all of them, but I dont know if I have to send all the paperwork in one package or send them separate...please explain that to me since i'll be sending the package next week.

Your frustration is warranted, but I think one thing you do have going, is that you are working on it and it's moving. Altho it is slow, it is in the pipeline. The fiscal year is not the end of the year. Their fiscal year is at the end of September, not the end of December. It does puzzle me however as to why they would send a file to the NBC instead of the local office when supposedly they are not going to start the process till the end of the fiscal year. That makes no sense whatsoever. There are other offices that are working on these right now and processing them. Pray for patience, and know in the end it will be all worth it and you are looking forward to the happiest day in your life, as we all are.

Omg, now the us global visa issuance system has crashed

We received our issued status on the 22nd, and still are waiting for our visa. I know they are still issuing visas, but it is very slow. It is so frustrating, but if you have the issued status, just try to be as patient as you can. It is hard, but take solace that you have been issued, and just waiting. Instead of receiving it in four days, it will take ten. Not too bad after all that you have been thru to be with the person you love for the rest of your life. I hate the situation, it sucks, but knowing why the delay is happening, is better than knowing nothing or getting the run around company line. You first think it is just you and there is a problem, but it is not. SO soon, it will be over, then all of this will be a very happy moment to think about, how hard you worked together to be together.

CEAC says Issued - Book Flight and Quit Job?

With the current visa issuance problems they are having, I would not buy anything. I would wait till I have it in my hand, or at least at the delivery office. Then you know it has been printed and out of the system and on the way to you. You do not know how long the DOS will take to get it out to you.

I thought it was funny that was the first thing she pointed out. In a way, she was already calling us fake. But I went on with the meeting since I was paying for her consulation.

but it is definitely good to include photos with relatives and friends around. We did and I heard from other people that it helps.

For each visit, I added 1 photo of my fiancee and me another photo with her family and friends and another photo with her children. Only thing that was missing was the kissing photo. LOL.

2 year relationship? No. I believe the requirement states to have met in person within the last 2 years....honestly you can do all this on your own....this website is very resourceful and these forms are all meant to be completed by individuals other than attorney's. Think about it!

Yeah. I had the same response when she said maintain two-year relationship up to the time of the application. The question on the application was pretty clear to me but it had me question is route we planned to take; which was applying for the fianee visa. It would suck to wait for 8-12 months just to get denied.

My fiancee decided the best was to get married there and then file the petition for her and the children.

I wanted to share our experience with meeting an immigration attorney in Dominican Republic. We discussed the K-1 visa process and the option of marrying in the Dominican Republic.

First, the attorney charged a reasonable fee of $50 for the consulation and we met at her home because it was on a Sunday and her house was closer than her office. It was a very relaxed and comfortable setting. It was a typical business meeting we got to know each other and talked about our familes before talking about business.

I prepared a K-1 package for her to review and the first thing she pointed out was that she didn't like our photos because it didn't include a photo of us "kissing". She also mentioned that it's a requirement that my fiancee and I must maintain two-year relationship prior to the K-1 application and went over a few ways to prove this if it wasn't true. This was my forst red flag. She explained that many times the application is denied because there's not enough time in the relationship. I told her that I interpreted the question as have I seen my fiancee with-in two years from the time the application was submitted. So we started talking about the process if we got married in the Dominican Republic and filed the I-130.

Below are the documents required to get married in the Dominican Republic:

DR CItizens:

certified birth certificate of the couple
copy of identification card of the couple
copy of identification card of the godfathers in case family members are put witnesses

Alien Citizens:

original birth certificate apostilled by the consulate of his/her country
copy of passport
a sworn declaration made ??by a lawyer solteria notary and legalized in procuraduria
all records submitted by the alien must be translated by a legal translator

Additional Documents:

if one of the groom is a widower bringing death certificate of the deceased

I told the attorney that my birth certificate was already translated. She said that it wasn't valid because the service that I used wasn't recognized by the Civil registry and she was able to translate it. she also said that she can provide to sworn affidavit that my fiancee and me were never married.

Finally, she can submit all the paperwork for the I-130 application for 3 payments of $500 = $1500 US.

Any thoughts?

we got NVC letter where was the kev number. and so far for the medical you DO ask to show kev number, they dont care as for if it's official paper from NVC or not, I showed scanned letter from NVC on medical in Kyiv, but some girls were showing print screens from tracking page with NVC number. so just print it out and thats it, they ask for it not cos they want official paper, but cos they do not want to make errors in papers during medical. it's all less stressed than it seems! good luck!

Simple question....I called the NVC to get our KEV# but have not received the actual documentation from the NVC with that same number. My fiancee has scheduled her medical exam in a week and a half. Does she only need the KEV# or is some sort of document with the actual number printed on it required? Thank you!

Hello everyone! Well, my fiancee has her medical scheduled for next week and then we plan to have her interview in Kyiv next month. I'm getting a little paranoid as I am currently unemployed and am looking for a position in my field (which is tough right now). Questions:

1. I read on the U.S. State Dept under fiancee visas that the I-134 income requirements are 100% of the federal poverty guideline. I have savings in the bank of about 70k with no other income...Is this enough?

2. I plan to have my brother co-sponsor. He is single with no dependents and makes well above the poverty guideline. He just fills out another I-134 with the accompanying documentation, correct?

3. Has anyone heard or experienced anyone in Kiev being denied the K1 visa with the petitioner being unemployed? If anyone can give me some insight, I would appreciate it!
