Bridget, may God bless you for your unwavering faith. I pray your man stays safe & is returned to you quickly.

I must admit - I'm a little jealous that my first meeting with my husband wasn't as romantic as yours. Posted Image My sweetheart got LOST on his way to the airport, so I thought I got stood up as well. I'm also a little country bumpkin - hills of Pennsylvania here (curtsy).

There had just been a large bust of sectarian violence in Belfast a month prior, and I was scared to death. I had no foreign currency, and I couldn't figure out the phone booths. My cell didn't work. I had a nice lady try to help me out, but I had an extra digit in my husband's cell # (because they drop the 0 when they are local).

By the time we found each other at the airport, my eyes were red & puffy from crying, I had upset my gastro system & was practically living in the bathroom (nerves!), and he was furious for not finding the right place. We started out yelling at each other. Posted Image

And here we are, five years later. Posted Image Still loving each other despite our unconventional face-to-face meeting. Not quite what romances are made of, but... Posted Image

awwwww.... i think thats sweet....

Aw thanks your soo sweet.

Thx girl just wanted you to know i am praying for you. Ya know most americans assume all muslim people are bad. Kinda like Alen. They all think because he is from Iraq he is a terrorist. He has problems killing a bug. But while i was with him he introduced me to his muslim friends and there familys. On catholic religious holidays for Alen they brought candy and would visit. On muslim holidays Alen would visit and bring them treats. They were all so kind and loving people. Just because their religion wasnt his or mine didnt mean we couldnt respect each others personal beliefs.I met so many kind people whom had fled the war and sought refuge in sweden.I will never forget my time there or the friends i made. We all, no matter what religion have bones ,teeth, skin a brain we are human beings. Just because there are a few bad apples doesnt mean the whole basket is bad. I wish more than anything for peace in all these war torn countrys.

Do any of you want to tell us your story about how you met your loved one and when you knew they were the one? I'd love to hear it Posted Image

Though I was very lucky in my own processing, I still check this thread every few days and feel so supst for you guys. I would go bananas if it happened to me. I pray each night that you guys get to be with your loved ones soon and I continue to tell all of my family and friends (even strangers on the bus who are curious) about this horrible process and how the consulate officers don't treat people like they are human. This arrogance and power trip that they have has got to go.

awwww Justine you are so sweet. I could write a book on my story, but i did share alil down below. So happy for yall. Thanks for the prayers ,we need all we can get.Posted Image

Thanks, You know no matter how hard this journey is i know god sent me to Alen. From Pineville, Louisiana a lil backwoods country girl boarded a plane for Sweden alone never having flown that far to meet the man she had met online 6 months before. I met and started chatting with him because of a picture he had on his instant mesage box of jesus on the cross. most people put a cute picture of themselves, their kids, their pets, etc. Not many of their god. So i sent him a message asking about it. And so that was the begining of many many hours talking. Finally i took a leap of faith and bought a plane ticket. I was scared to death and soo nervous. But i got off that plane 19 hrs later in a strange country. He was waiting for 3 hours in the airport and had shook my flowers to pieces. i couldnt find him at first and thought i had been stood up. All my family thought i was nuts. And i guess it was alil crazy but i had lived all my life without ever just taking a chance. And so finally we see each other and it was like i had found my soulmate. He is the most amazing man. He is not perfect. No one is...But hes is as close as you can get.So when i say god sent him to me. I mean it. I got to stay 7 amazing months with him. And would have married him the first week but we never were able to get sweden to give us a marriage license.I know there are people whom abuse this system of immigration but for those of us here, we could never go thru all this if we did want above all else to be with the one we love. All this waiting and worrying has somehow brought me closer and closer to god, he has not helped me thru this, He has picked me up dusted me off a few times and CARRIED ME. I will spent the rest of my life thanking him for leading me on this path. I was so angry at first, now i pray for the people at the embassey. So long story short. Be thankful for this journey know matter how long because it is taking you somewhere and you are learning for every step. Each day in this life we must learn to cherish because they do go by fast. As my loves says, we only get one life.

So i think its securety check/name check/ background checks. Is the file still in jerusalem right? so when the checks are done they will call my husband to send in his passport? or will it take long for them to be notified that the checks are done?

i found this site also http://www.fbi.gov/c...rrity071003.htm

so 120 days? 4 months. so im not even half way there and thats if im lucky it will be 4 months Posted Image

Hey girl ,they dont send your file back for checks they send an electronic copy to each agency they want to check you. And as soon as they get all those back they either approve or deny you. Then they call or send a email or letter saying you need to submit your passport. It depends on the embassey which one they use to contact you. Then you should be looking at a visa in say a weeks time sometimes sooner.I have been praying for you alot girl. i know how sad, depressed and angry you have been. We all do.Just know that we are praying for you.Try to hand this to god and trust he will take care of it. i know it is hard,we all have bad days. But since i have been praying about this and given it to god. I have peace. I know that God sent me Alen, and i know he will get him to me in his own time.I may not like it, somedays im impatient because i see his fear since he is back in Iraq. He has been threatened twice and doesnt leave the house anymore unless he has no other option. Soon he has to move out of where he is staying and will have no place to go. All his family is in Sweden. He is alone for the first time in his life. But he is hanging in there and god is gonna take care of everything. This i have to believe or id be crazy. I was crazy the first 3 months. I just wanted to let you know that i am praying for all of you. And i know you all pray for us. My wish for you is that on this night god fills you to the brim with peace. And sends your love to you asap.

similar to the HCMC consulate...

I guess today is our midweek rant ,because we have gotten no good news yet.I called dos yesterday ,i have never been able to get someone who will give me a time -date stamp for our case in 6 months of calling. It sucks...I did download the leadership directory for the whole uscis and have a mountain of numbers and email addresses. Fortytwo pages worth. So i guess i need to start sending out letters. And making calls.Sweden embassey does not take your calls or accept emails from you after your interview. And im not sure i could be civil after they way they treated us.So its probably better if i dont contact them.I am praying for them though.lol....For god to change their hearts and open their eyes.Thought id make ya'll laugh.I find that Ap brings you closer as a couple somedays and further apart others.I get frustrated and cry and whine one day the next im upbeat. And its his turn to be sad the following day.I have spent hundreds of dollars a month on phone bills plus thousands on traveling back and forth to sweden until he was sent back to Iraq. And also thousands on running two households. In all total im up to about 130,000.00 for all and still no fiancee.I have thought about going to lebanon and just getting married but then we just have to start all over again. So we wait ......I know there are those of you who have waited years and i have know idea how you have done it .This is the worst roller coaster i have ever been on and I WANT OFF.....I keep praying and praying this will end soon for all of us.There is nothing so hard as feel as if half of you is missing.I am just glad to have all of you to share my pain. And to help share yours. So if you get to down and just need a shoulder to cry on you can pm me with your number and ill call and try to help you through the day.I am trying to start a new business and it seems to be helping me not be as depressed, but lord knows i still have my days.Tomarrow i plan to fast and pray for the day. So lets hope it works and god answers my prays and someone gets good news...

Best of luck fellow AP-ers!

I am sorry to read about everything that is happening to you and your fiancee. It seems like the embassies are making it worse by not offering any consultation as to how long this process really takes once you are placed in administrative review or process. I believe most couples could bear the length of their journey if they knew a time turntable as to how long it takes once you are place in AP for whatever reason. I have no "good" news to share but an update to my case is I called the US embassy in Riyadh and spoke to someone their and trust me it is exceedingly difficult to get someone to answer their phone at this particular consulate. Anyways the guy who answered the phone is the same one I have been corresponding with via email. He was very nice and apologetic about everything. Whomever they have checking my fiancee's background haven't been able to complete it for whatever reason and he told me they are following up every month but so far it hasn't finished and every time he thinks they should be finished they tell they are not finished and he is working to get them to bring our case to a closure. He is hoping to have everything wrapped up before June but hey .. I can hope this is the case but until then we are praying for an end and for everyone else's as well....

Congratulations to all those who have received their visa and hopefully more of us will come off this list this month!

Dee

Thank you all for your kind words of encouragement.I hope you all hear good news soon.AP sucks for everyone.

Please someone tell me good news.If im not ever gonna get a visa,i at least want to know other people are getting theirs.Im having a hard time today.I really worryed about Alen.He will soon be homeless and hasnt heard another word about the job he thought he had.We are both so stressed. It seems so unfair that they made him return to baghdad in the middle of so much fighting.Hes scared but there is nowhere to run.I feel helpless.Im just so sad today.I feel like its all my fault because my us consulate set him up and had them pick him up at there gates. His resident card was not even expired. How they can get away with that i dont know. But it is just so frustrating.Having a bad day today sorry guys.Praying for all of you.I need to hear some good news even if it is not my own visa i wanna see yall get yours soon.

Here's a USCIS Fact Sheet regarding Iraqi Refugee Processing: http://www.uscis.gov...0004718190aRCRD

Bridget, I can tell your love is strong and true. I know because where ever Pman is, that's where I want to be too, no matter how wacky the locale Posted Image. However, please -- I implore you to stay out of Iraq. I'd much rather explore ways to get Alen out than getting you in there. Here's the travel advisory warning against travel to Iraq at this time: http://travel.state..../tw/tw_921.html

Thanks for the info.No as much as i would love to be with Alen no matter where he is.He told me he would not let me come to Iraq.I thought if we have to ,I could meet him in lebanon or some close country. Not sure on the laws though for marriage.Anyways thx for the info.

Update :-

OK guys i just got an Email from the embassy .They asked me to provide them a new police record .I tried to call them several times to make sure but they did not answer the phone .I sent them an Email back and i asked them if they want me to send a new medical exam with the police record '' I told them its already expired '' .They sent me an Email back and they said '' Please provide us with the police certificate along with the medical examination '' if its already expired ''

So it sound like good news for me .At least i know that they are working on it and its not collecting dust on someone's desk .

But i really don't know if i did wrong by asking them about the medical exam .As a matter of fact i don't want to wait a few weeks till they call me or till they send me an Email when they will find out that i have to redo it .And i really don't want to redo it in USA cause its going to cost a lot of money .

Good luck everyone .

Have a nice blessed day all .

Hey how long is your police report good for .I guess will will have to have a new one too ,when the time comes. because our is already 7 months old.and our file is still in sweden.By the time they finish with it and send it to Iraq our police report will probably have expired. When i know it has made it to Iraq i will order another report.grrrrrr the wheels of our government turn so slow.I feel like im gonna be at this still in 2011.It makes me sad.I wonder if we would be better getting married and refiling in Iraq.I just dont have any idea how i could go to Iraq and get married.I just dont know what to do from one day to the next.

I'm really sorry to hear that :( Can he go to one of the safer cities? I suppose we forget how lucky we really are...wishing you the very best, and hoping that you hear good news very, very soon!! In the past week or so three people have recived their visas: mza001, Zaheer and now Malarie so there's every chance that it's your turn next.

He isnt allowed to apply for refugee because he is in Iraq.He can apply as refugee after he works for the us for 1 year.Or if he flees Iraq he can file.He has nowhere else to go.And where he is staying now the cousins are selling the house he is in.So he must leave there soon also.He has an interview Thursday with a securitys company whom contracts out for our military so hopefully he will get a job.But it is so dangerous because he will now be hunted for working for the us.So he may be killed. But he must do what he can to survive,he has to eat.I am sad our government went over there and started a war then left these people i this situation. So many have fled.Alen did and then was sent back to Iraq from sweden. It is so much money to flee again and then you have to have a way to support yourself. We just dont know what to do.This could take a year or so.He still has to wait for sweden to tranfer our case there after we get out of ap.Then they could require another interview and then mabe even ap again.Im so scare3d for him .And discouraged because i cant even go there and marry him and refile for spouce visa because of the war and i dont even know if we could marry there.Im just having a bad day i guess.Seems like everyone is getting ap these days and only a few are getting out.It sucks that we all must suffer because of terrorist.I pray every night for each and everyone one of you on here.May we all be reunited with our loved ones soon. Please keep us in your prayers as well. :crying:

AP is the hardest part of the journey .It has been over than 13 months for me and still no visa .This is really ridiculous !

I think yeah they should be honest with us and tell us the truth .When i had my interview back in March of 2009 the CO said everything is ok but i need to do some AR .I asked her how long its going to take ? She said 2 weeks :rofl: .Yeah right 2 weeks ! I mean why she did not say 6 months or 9 months or even a year ?!

I hope you will hear good news soon .Next time when he will call Armex they will say yeah your visa is here come and to pick it up .

Hot guy i miss my fiancee more than anything .But i pray you are next even before us.You deserve to be next ,you have waited so long.I will continue to pray for you all.

(5 and a half months) and she was like "Wow.. he has been in AP a long time." and I said "Yeah" and she was looking at his file then said "They have his Passport, right?" and I said "Yes we sent it about a month and a week ago. And she kept looking and said "Yeah.. you know... you should...." then she kept pausing then she said "Why don't you call back by the end of the week..." and I didnt hear her well so i said "Im sorry, when should I call back, I didnt hear u" and she said "Call back by friday, we should hear something by then." And I was like "Ok, are there any notes on his file recently?" and she said "Only a congressional reply on March 31, but you know that, right?" and I said "Yes, I am sure that is when my senator's office replied to me." and she said "Yeah, it's still pending but why dont you call back by friday, hopefully we will know something by then." and I said ok and thanked her and then got off the phone. So, anyhow.. thats all that happened with us. I know it was finished with AP back on the 17th of March, and then put back on it around the 22nd.. so, let's see what happens. I am hoping the "Back on AP" is just because of his passport. Wish me luck. Allah Hafiz.

Waivers (I-601 and I-212) and Administrative Processes (221g)AP TRACKER

so my wife went on Thursday. Reached the embassy at 1:30...was out by 2:30 with the VISA.....oh my God!!! After a year of this crappy process,it is finally over.. Thanks a lot to everyone on VJ. I wouldnt have gotten through this without all the advice and support.
Then we bought her ticket and out of all the airlines, we chose AIR FRANCE....So we all know what happened with the whole Ashes and airport closures. So the utter happiness plummeted pretty fast. Her flight got cancelled but some good persistent hounding of the airport officials and she got put on a direct flight from dubai to Usa. I should be seeing her in the next 12 hrs. I will update you guys with her POE experience.
Thanks again everyone and please, Update me on the spreadsheet :)

Congratulations...Good luck
