PhilippinesFiling for a passport in the Philippines
Your fiancee should file it at DFA in person. Bislig is located in Mindanao, right? Tell her to go to city hall and ask where to file for a passport cuz I think there is no DFA in Mindanao. DFA is only located in Cebu and Manila. Correct me if I'm wrong. If there's no DFA in Mindanao she should go to Cebu and file it there.

Hello all,

My fiancee lives in Bislig in the Philippines, she needs to apply for her passport. I thought I read that they have to apply for the passport in person at the DFA (The Department of Foreign Affairs). does anyone know if that is where she needs to apply? If so, where is the nearest DFA to Bislig?

Thanks so much

Steve

PhilippinesUSEM and mailing confirm letter to beneficiary
Yes, I did but this was last year. I'm not sure if they are still using DHL cuz visa delivery now is through Air21 and not Delbros anymore. It could be better you call USEM and ask if your case number is in their system already. Once your case is in their system, you can set your interview schedule without the letter through mail. They will send you an email of the confirmation of interview date. All you have to do is print it after you receive their email.

Hi, i just had a quick question to ask. Once the USEM has received our case from NVC, what mailing method does USEM send the confirmation letter to the beneficiary? in other words, via regular mail, priority mail or registered mail? thanks in advance for any input.

Oh you did? do you mind me asking how long ago was that? if it is thru dhl, then someone would have to be at address that my fiance had given, right? no one is at home during the day so that is why i ask about method of delivery with USEM. i don't want something getting lost or any mess up etc.

Philippinesfurther review/ administrative processing
You'll never know when will your visa be released by USEM once your case is under administrative review. I called USEM but call center didn't help it is just a waist of time and money. Getting in touch with Grace and Lorraine is hard too cuz the line is always busy but you'll be lucky if you can contact them cuz they willl tell you your case status unlike other call center agents. During your interview the consul will tell you if you need another interview but in your case you are just put in administrative review so no more interview unless they will send you a notice and schedule for another interview. But just be positive. Everything will be ok. If you mind, I would like to ask what is the age gap of your fiance and you? cuz my friend had an administrative review last year and it took for 4 months because of their age gap.

CENOMAR? i gave it on the time of inteview.. after the interview the only thing i have is the 221g form which is the white paper that you mention, saying "wait until you hear from us; yor case requires further review" no documents asked..

you said its like your case, how did you know that AR is completed? did they e-mail you or contact you and how did you get the visa? how long it takes since your interview? did they ask for another interview?..

Philippinesfurther review/ administrative processing
When did you submit your CENOMAR? Is it on the day you had your interview? or the next day you had your interview? Cuz once you lack requirements during your interview you will surely receive that note (It's a white paper that contains list of requirements that need to be passed and then it shows on the bottom " wait until you hear from us; your case requires further review" ). If you have that kind of paper together with the pink slip you are under administrative review because you lack requirements during the interview just like my experience. If you will call USEM and ask about your visa they will just say the review will take 6 weeks to 2 months and don't ever believe them because mine took only for 2 weeks since I passed my lacking requirements. They never know what's happening with our papers in USEM cuz they are only basing their answer on their systems. When I called them they said it is still under review but the truth is, visa was printed already and ready to be released. So don't waste your money calling them. Better checked DELBROS online with your tracking number always. Good luck.

Philippinespolice clearance
You need to get Police Clearance cuz the embassy will ask if you have lived outside Philippines. And it will also show that in your Bio forms. You have to go Taiwan Consulate in Manila and file for police clearance.

41F, Tower 1, RCBC Plaza,
6819 Ayala Avenue, Makati City 1200,
Metro Manila, Philippines
Phone: (02-63-2) 8876688

P.S. call Taiwan Consulate first and asked the requirements in filing for your police clearance cuz they may need request letter from the US embassy.

God bless

For I was hungry and you gave me me something to eat. I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in. I needed clothes and you clothed me. Then the righteous will answer him, "Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you. or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?
"The King will reply, I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for ME."

I'm not looking for the wrong signs of a Christian led life.
Jesus did not teach that good deeds form the basis of our salvation. The Bible shows clearly that eternal life results from what God does, not what we do. We are saved by God's grace, not by our works. Still, God intends that those who receive his grace will also do good works. True Faith is more than just claiming to have faith. Genuine love for God will be expressed through SERVICE TO OTHERS-- not to earn salvation, but because a heart that truly loves God will be filled with compassion for people. Jesus wanted his followers to set the pace by helping those who were hurting.

That may be true, but IMO, you are looking for the wrong signs of a Christian led life. Where do you find Jesus? In the face of a homeless person, or a lonely prisoner in jail.

Thanks Charles :) I hope everybody knows HIM especially in a secular generation that we live in. When I got here in US, I was shocked when I knew people who doesn't believe in Jesus. They don't know where their lives came from and who made them? Instead they believe in Darwinian theory where all people came from apes or just say "people evolve just from nowhere" Why do they make things complicated? Why do they won't believe in Jesus? Isn't that frustrating guys?
People doesn't appreciate simple things from the moment we wake up, we should be thankful that we still breathe and we are healthy. People just take this for granted. I brought up this topic here just to know if there still people out here who believe in Jesus. Anyone?

ONE SOLITARY LIFE

He was born in an obscure village, the child of a peasant. He grew up in another village, where he worked in a carpenter shop until he was 30. Then, for three years, he was an itinerant preacher.
He never wrote a book. He never held an office. He never had a family or owned a home. He didn't go to college. He never lived in a big city. He never traveled 200 miles from the place where he was born. He did none of the things that usually accompany greatness. He had no credentials but himself.
He was only 33 when the tide of public opinion turned against him. His friends ran away. One of them denied him. He was turned over to his enemies and went through the mockery of a trial. He was nailed to a cross between two thieves. While he was dying, his executioners gambled for his garments, the only property he had on earth. When he was dead, he was laid in a borrowed grave, through the pity of a friend.
Twenty centuries have come and gone, and today he is the central figure of the human race. I am well within the mark when I say that all the armies that ever marched, all the navies that ever sailed, all the parliaments that ever sat, all the kings that ever reigned--put together--have not affected the life of man on this earth as much as that ONE, solitary life.

Philippinesconfuse about PDOS and CFO
Filipino emigrants or those leaving the country to settle permanently abroad are required to register with the CFO. Part of its registration requirements is attendance in the Pre-Departure Orientation Seminar (PDOS) to prepare them for settlement overseas. Those who are 12 years old and below are exempt from attending the PDOS.They must, however, be registered, even if by proxy. Children of emigrants, aged 13 to 19, are required to attend the Peer Counseling Program to help facilitate their adjustment to a new environment.

The nuns of St. Mary Euphrasia Foundation will be the one to do the counseling of the emigrants here in Cebu but I don't know in Manila but I think they are still the one handling it. They will discuss about the life we will be having in the country that we are going. What to do and where to ask help if you are in trouble in the country you will be staying. The do's and dont's of the an emigrant.

You will need to attend the seminar because it is a pre-requisite of each applicant. You can't travel abroad if you can't attend the seminar. The CFO will give a certificate and stamp it once you have the visa, proof that you attend the counseling and it will be attached on your passport.

Senorita Teresita asked about your home town. Why don't you tell us about your neighborhood or the place where you live?

We live in Forestville, a small unincorporated town in Sonoma County located in northern California, a good 70 miles from the Golden Gate bridge. If Napa California claims that it is the wine capital of the world, Sonoma makes the best wines in the world. In fact, Kendall-Jackson Wine Estates, (Fulton Road, CA) sent two cases of the winery's chardonnay to President-elect Barack Obama as a congratulatory gesture in Nov. 6. A recent story in People magazine profiling the family life of then-candidate, now President-elect Barack Obama mentioned that a bottle of Kendall-Jackson chardonnay sat on the Obamas’ kitchen countertop. It seemed only fitting that the California winemaker send a few congratulatory cases of the brand to the incoming President for his new wine cellar on Pennsylvania Avenue.

My favorite are the giant Sequoia (Redwood) trees and they can be found in Sonoma County. These gigantic trees are breathtaking and not to mention the Russian River which extends from Sonoma County to Mendocino County. Come to Sonoma and experience free wine tours and wine tasting.

Hi, I went to St. Lukes yesterday to have my Day 1 medical done. I am with my daughter with a K2 category. minors dont do lab test so I had my xrays and all the lab stuffs. She had a skin test and I didn't had mines. I have a question, how do you know if the skin test will be positive? Remember the doctor encircled around the skin test shot? How is that ba? if the red mark goes outside the encircled portion, is that the indication that she is positive of TB? Hers is like red just within the circle, it didn't go over that. But if it does, is that positive of TB and what will happen? She can't travel with me anymore?

Thank you.

They will measure the size of the red spot (the bump) if it is more than 10 mm it implies that you have a positive skin test and it doesn't mean that you have TB. A lot of people are just exposed to TB especially those who are working in medical field. You can determine TB through x_ray. I had my skin test too here in US before I filed for AOS. I had a positive skin test result and they had me an x-ray it is just a waste of money cuz I know I don't have TB. I already had an x-ray at st. lukes but because of my bump that measured 15mm I had a FALSE POSITIVE SKIN TEST. Don't worry usually it is only FALSE POSITIVE.

I wrote MichEAl, I just realized that I wrote it wrong when I was inside the embassy waiting for my number to be called. I don't have any white ink to correct it so I was just hoping the CO will not notice it. Luckily, she didn't notice it and it was a great relieve for me.

PhilippinesSkype Recorder
QUOTE (enigmatic1 @ Apr 2 2009, 05:38 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hello,

I don't really post much on this site (mostly read), but I came across this program today and thought it would be good to share, if none of you have already stumbled upon it. If you have and use Skype to talk to your loved ones, this program will allow you to record the conversation: Skype Recorder. I haven't used it myself yet so I can't say how well it works, but, right away, I thought this would be a good way of having more evidence or proof of a relationship.

Good luck to those in waiting and God bless.

-Mark

My hubby and I used Skype when I was still in the Philippines (everyday), I just printed the call history and make them as part of my evidence.

hello everyone... just wanna ask if my fiance is approved or not. he had an interview today. after the questioning part, the consul told him to wait outside and wait to be called. he got a pink slip, and he paid the delivery fee. does it mean he's approved?? just wanna make sure. i called the embassy after the interview and they checked our case. it says still pending..

My POE is LAX, if our plane will stop over in Japan. Do i need to apply for a japanese visa?

No, but you are not allowed to go outside the airport. When you arrive at Narita Airport Japan, you will go directly to your connecting flight. All you need is your passport and plane ticket. Bon Voyage!

Thanks in-advance for the replies..

You must have the Vaccination Record is it VERY important once you'll file for AOS.
