PhilippinesMy House for My wife Sheryl.
Hi Abby,
You are one of the luckiest people living in the world. Where you are so blessed. Money, House, Cars and pretty wife and I know you are grateful to God for what you have now. Thanking HIM for giving you such things. I do have a suggestion to you.....to be grateful to God is to share your blessings to people who are in need. Charity like World Vision. I'm not advertising this here in site. I'm suggesting it to Abby but to those who would like to share their blessings too it is up to you. It's a good feeling when you help someone in your own little way. Just check this video.....
$10-$50 a month can't hurt your pocket for a millionaire like you....do you agree?

PhilippinesXOOM SUCKS!!!
QUOTE (qp24113 @ Aug 22 2009, 05:41 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
i just want to share my experience with XOOM... their commercial is very convincing that the beneficiary will receive the money in minutes with the lowest fee... what happened was, i decided to use XOOM for the very first time... send $200 using my bank account but after I made the transaction it says that the status is still pending and will take about 4 business days to get approval (by the way, my bank account have funds)... then and there i decided to call customer service to cancel and a representative assured me that the transaction will be CANCEL (received a confirmation #) and amount will not be withdrawn from my bank... two days later, i did my random online banking and found out that they have withdrawn the amount and checked XOOM website and found out that they just on the process of canceling the transaction after 2 days from my request... is this what you call GOOD SERVICE??? even their representative are so unreliable. this is not a good business... yes they may claim that they have the lowest fee but they DEFINITELY have the POOREST SERVICE in the money transfer business...

I've been using xoom since last year, send money to Phils. every month. It only takes less than 5 minutes and it's ready for pick up but in the month of June 2009 I encounter like yours where it took 4 days. I called their customer service and argued about it cause it is really unusual and they didn't give me the answer. I used the same bank account since I started using xoom. Well, anyway my family got it after 4 days and really I was not happy at all. July and August I have no problem yet. I hope it won't happen again.

QUOTE (GD21 @ Aug 26 2009, 06:49 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hey man, saw you PMd me too. I think the guy above me summed it up. From what I've gathered here, this used to be packet 3: http://www.google.co...p;q=visajourney

We already have out appts set so we're good. Packet 4 is the list of stuff they used to send out that people are now told to access online. I haven't done the interview yet, so I can't promise anything but Diana has the affidavit of support, all my financials, her Visa app forms, the BC, NBI, CENOMAR, and about 4 pounds of relationship proof so if she gets denied or postponed for some reason I am going to be floored. I think we'll be good. I'm praying we are anyway.

My girl will be lining up at 6 AM on the 2nd. Best of luck my man!!

Hey man, I'm not a guy hehehehehehe....I just use spartan as a my username cuz I called my hubby spartan lol. yeah, disregard "packet". Not anymore.....all can be downloaded online. Good luck to your lady and to also to rockhouse.

Umm, my fiancee is having her interview Sept. 2nd. She has already passed the medical, and she has all her DS forms and evidence ready.
From time to time i hear about "Packet 3". To my knowledge my girl has not received any "Packet 3", or "Packet 1 or 2" for that matter.
What are these packets, and are we missing something that is vital to the interview?
Thanks.

That was before when USEM send "packet" to the beneficiary(list of requirements and instructions) but they stop that already since all the filers can download the forms and instructions online. You didn't miss anything, all she has to do now is wait and prepare for her interview. God bless.

Philippinesmedical exam
QUOTE (baybylove @ May 29 2009, 11:08 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
hi to all people in here at vj.

i have a question about medical exam?
me & my best friend were both waiting for the noa2 and we had talk about medical exam.
my best friend has a problem in her #######. mmm... skin tag she said, and she's worried & shy to go in doctor. my question is...
if she will failed or be deny in her k1 processing because of her skin tag of ####### or what? it is the skin tag is hemorrhoids?
it is require for medical exam too?

thanks...

Hemorrhoid is not a problem at all and it's not contagious. She will be fine. Since she is still waiting for her NOA2, she better see a doctor. She should have courage enough to tell the doctor about it if she wants to be treated. It is not easy to have hemorrhoids, it's painful, itchy, and bleeds during bowel movement. She can have home treatment if it's an external hemorrhoid by adding fiber on her meals, drink lots of water and use topical ointment (over the counter) but if it's internal hemorrhoid, this can be severe and she might needs surgery. My brother had hemorrhoids years ago, he just kept it to himself cause he was shy to tell the family. By the time, that he can't take the pain anymore his hemorrhoid got worst and he ended up having surgery and it had caused us a lot of money. So my advise to your best friend is to act as soon as possible, if she doesn't want to get it worst.

Congrats to you and to all the girls who passed. When I had my interview the consul didn't look at my evidence too. I brought a lot of them and they were so heavy especially all the written letters.

PhilippinesOnce and for all!!!
Hi rockhouse, the best thing to do is to tell your fiancee to call USEM and ask USEM if she can schedule for interview already (USEM will give the schedule if the case is already in their system). USEM will ask the case number (MNL*********) and check in their system if your case is already eligible for setting an interview schedule or not.
If your case is already eligible then they will give your fiancee the date and time for the interview and also they will ask her to choose what date will be her Medical Exam (It should be 5 days or more before her Interview date) once these are already set in their system. USEM will ask your fiancee's email add for them to send the interview schedule through email right there and then (USEM will send the schedule through email while your fiancee and the agent are still talking on phone). And that's the one she'll print and take it with her at St. Luke's Medical Center for her exam. Better to bring complete requirements to St. Luke's. When I had my medical exam the guard asked my appointment letter (interview schedule). I didn't take the chance going to Manila without my appointment letter since I'm also living in Cebu.
P.S. SORRY ABOUT THE FIRST REPLY THERE'S NO CONTENT....I MISTAKENLY HIT THE WRONG BUTTON....OOOOPS

Yes, because I believe its beyond 6 months already since the last time she had her medical at St. Lukes. And she had a different Case number, the only thing that she will not undergo anymore was the shots. But if she had her HPV vaccine before, I guess she can take the next shot for it.

i dont know when was her k1 medical exam but what if it is within 6 month period since she had her k1 med exam? does she still needs another exam?

ps. sorry about the error in my first post "k1 visa was interview was denied". correction "k1 visa interview was denied" hehehe

PhilippinesCFO/PDOS in CEBU
QUOTE (Qiix @ Oct 5 2009, 11:27 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hello everyone,

We were just on the Phone with SMEF-COW in CEBU, The gentleman on the phone told us that it is an all day seminar with registration beginning at 7:30, fill out paperwork at 8:am, seminar at 9:30 to noon, counseling at 1:pm, and then to CFO Office/DFA Building for the sticker. On their website they say it's just 2 hours, seems I have been reading the seminar/counseling only takes a couple of hours in Manila.

Also I read on web that they only allow 15 in the class, first come first serve, if you're #16 you come back next day.

Just looking for advice on preferred city for the seminar. We are tired of Manila.

Also was wondering about my wife's CENOMAR. I have my "legal capacity' papers and we have our Marriage Cert but not a CENOMAR for her.

CR1 here, we're married..to make it clear for K1 readers smile.gif

From what province is your wife? If her flight is from Manila to US, then better have her CFO in Manila the day before her flight. To save time and money. If she's from Cebu, then she better have her seminar in Cebu. Just tell her to be early. I went there at 6 a.m., I was the second one to arrive in the office. The office is opened at 8 am. The staff there will call the applicants one by one and give them forms to fill up. As I've remembered, the questions in the form are:

(Husband's info)
Your job, name of the company, company's address. If self employed then name of your own company/ business. Phone and cell numbers. Your course in college, your home address, birthdate and the rest are basic info about your wife. After filling up the forms, the seminar will start it will only take 2 hours. Then be back in the afternoon for one on one interview. Just simple and basic questions about her and you and your relationship. It will only take 30 minutes. After the one on one interview, they will give her a certificate proving that she attended the seminar already. Then after that she will go to CFO office. 2nd floor at Department of Foreign Affairs DFA. (all taxi drivers know where is DFA in Cebu) Hand them the passport with visa and the certificate then they will put sticker on her passport and she's done. That's it. It's not really one whole day. I was done by 2pm. My advise is that, she should be early.

PS: There's no problem during lunch time because there is a restaurant on the 1st floor of the building.

No need of police clearance for the AOS. I got a Japan police clearance during my K1 too only USEM needs it. So no worries.

PhilippinesIf the Visa Interview is the first week of December?
QUOTE (DaleandPat @ Oct 10 2009, 12:13 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
My fiancee is having the sputum test done now and is to call the SLEC on December 2nd. This will probably be to make a time for the medical report out of the sputum test, which is believed to be negative. Her instructions said she would then have the visa interview within 2 or 3 days, which may be sometime between December 7th thru 11th. Now then another week will be needed on the average to get the visa in hand. By this time half of December will be gone. It may be hard to make reservations for air flight to Iowa by this time.

Any ideas or suggestions would be most appreciated. A Delta Airlines representative recommended to talk to a travel agency to see if they may have blocks of flights that could be adjusted if reservations are made ahead of time.

Dale

Actually, in my situation last year it was easy to book the ticket 1st week of December BUT the price is high. I got my visa Dec. 3 and booked the flight Dec. 8. I would suggest you book January just to make sure for the waiting of her visa. God bless.

PhilippinesQuestion about medical and previous records
QUOTE (Dave and Melanie @ Oct 13 2009, 12:03 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
My fiancee had an operation previously, SLMEC asked her for the records of it. However, she does not have them. She has requested the documents from the previous hospital but they are having a hard time locating them. They still told her to return on day two for immunization even if she does not have the records.

Can this hold up the medical release? We stil have nearly a month before our interview.

I think she'll be fine. I only brought a medical certificate proving that I was admitted to the hospital before. I didn't bring the whole medical records. And during my medical exam at st. luke's the doctor just took my medical certificate and attach to other documents. I think it's not a big deal since it's not a contagious disease. They are only concern about contagious diseases.
Maybe she can just get a medical certificate from her doctor if st. luke's will ask her to get one during her immunization.

I heard from someone about the latter being the right one but I wanted to make sure it was. My interview is this Friday and I don't want to mess up on just a single piece of paper.

Thanks.

Police clearance is only needed if you had stayed out of Philippines for more than 6 months. You should get one in the country (outside PI) where you stayed or worked. But if you never fly outside PI since birth then all you need is NBI clearance.

I STAYED in Singapore for 12 days, Company Training, does it mean I need to get Police clearance there? Sorry guys I'm confused.

Absolutely no. It says at USEM site that it should be "6 months or more"

Tell your friend to stop fooling around I don't want to be rude but in situation like this I don't tolerate it. She knows that what she is doing is BAD. Thanks in advance to your reply.

PhilippinesMedical Question
Yes, you should bring any medical history you have. They will know that you have a surgery cuz obviously in the physical exam the doctor will ask you to undress and put on the gown that they provided for the patients. The doctor will check all parts of your body, so that means they will see your scar surgery on your abdomen and better have it translated in English (minna wa wakaranai dakara hehehehe). I brought my medical certificate cuz I was admitted for gastroenteritis. She will just look at it and attached it to your medical record forms. They are just concern about the contagious diseases like tb and aids. Good luck to you.

Stress and getting paranoid because of the visa processing is part of our journey. I too felt the same way before especially when my visa was administrative review because I was still waiting for my police clearance and the consul never said anything like "visa approve or visa denied". I went out the room from my interview full of doubts, worries and stress. From NVC approval to interview at USEM was full of stress. I even lost weight, I'm skinny but visa processing made me skinnier. Now, that I'm here with my hubby I'm trying to get back all my energy and weight that I lost during my journey.
Medical exam: yes it stressful because you'll never know if you have health problem or not cuz some disease doesn't have symptoms. During my medical exam, I tried to be relaxed but I can't sleep wondering what would be the result. And after I got my result I look funny cuz I worried something that need Not to get worried. In ther interview, I felt exhausted but I trust God. He is soveriegn. The most important thing is that trust in the Lord. Let him work into you. He will help us. He is just waiting for us to call for his help.

Well, we are nearing the end of the VJ and the stress seems to be mounting. What did you do to relieve the stress? I am blessed because I have been able to be with my wife during the process start to finish but as the end of the process approaches (waiting on case complete from NVC) we seem to be more stressed than at any other time during our filing process. Is this normal and how did others get through it without major disagreements. It seems we are being overly critical of each other in areas that never would have been an issue before. I am thinking this is the stress related to the upcoming medical and interview. Any suggestions would help.

I hear that you need the letter to go to the interview. My fiance has a different address. Will they send it to her old one?

Is there a number she can call to change the address after we receive the NOA2? Any other suggestions? Thank you very much.

PhilippinesWhy are some USEM Staff so rude?
hi lucy,

I'm to hear that you got your letter already. This is what I did:

1. Went to USEM around 10:30- 11 AM and got a request letter at window x. No cellphone allowed.
2. Went directly to Japan embassy around 11 AM and filed for police clearance:
Give the following:
Passport and request letter and also bring 2x2 pictures for fingerprint in camp crame.
3. They will give you a form to fill up and then they will hand you a map going to camp crame. I was lucky at that time cuz there was another guy who's from cebu and need a police clearance. We went together to camp crame but we took the MRT going there cuz it is faster that riding the taxi. I'm sorry I can't remember on how to get there through MRT. Better to take a taxi especially if you are alone just tell the driver that you are in hurry. You should be back at Japan embassy before 3pm to pass your fingerprints. They will close at 3pm but if you can't make it just go back at japan embassy the next day and then you're done for that part.

Note:
Set your interview date 7-8 weeks from the day you filed your police clearance para ig time na sa imo interview at least complete ang imo requirements igo2x ra pud na mareceive na nimo imo clearance from japan. Para di ka maunder sa AR (administrative review) ig interview sa consul nimo.

God bless and have a safe trip. Kaya na nimo.....

Hi Ann,

I got the confirmation letter already yesterday. We tried calling again and then finally it was in their system already. I cancelled my original plan of going to Manila today to get that letter and im still thinking when to go. Ann how long will it take to process the Police Clearance application? and 2 pm ra jud mag open ang window X for releasing the letter?
how far is Camp Crame from the Japanese embassy? I was adviced to apply in Manila kay it will take longer daw if diri sa Cebu.

Thank you.

PhilippinesWhy are some USEM Staff so rude?
Hi Lucy, I forgot to tell you that they will not give you the confirmation letter (through email) if your case number is not on their system yet. Sorry about that. Once they have it in their system you can set your interview and medical schedule. USEM call center agents don't know about the real situation on our case cuz they are just waiting and depending on what would pop up on their screen. They are just reading the answers to our questions. Call center agents are not located inside the USEM building premises. They are just like other call centers that are hired by certain companies that need agents to assist the customers/ callers. Only Grace and Lorraine give the right situation in your case and in other cases too but you can't get through their line easily cuz it is always busy. The best thing to do is wait for your case to be put in the system or you can wait for the letter from USEM that will be mailed to you at your doorstep. I had experienced what you are going into right now. It was so stressful but the key is to wait. Don't stress too much with those agents cuz you still have a long way to go this is just the start of your journey, next stress would be interview and medical. Be strong and be patient. Hi all!

I'm sharing this horrible experience today with one of the USEM workers.

My fiance called USEM this morning inquiring about our case, we just want to know if we can make a schedule for my medical and interview early since we know our Manila Case Number already from NVC when he called NVC last Feb. 17. He told the USEM staff too that i will be needing the confirmation email of the schedule for getting a request letter from the USEM which i will be needing too in applying for Police Clearance at Japanese Embassy that will take 2-3 months. The staff told him that they only have our electronic case number but not in their system yet, we have to wait till they receive the hardcopy.

Around 3PM this afternoon, I made a follow up call to USEM, I asked if how long it will take for them to input our case to the system when they receive the hardcopy. A female staff answered me that they do not know, it depends on the workload. I explained to her about the Police Clearance and that I am hoping to set my schedule early so I can have the Confirmation Email early too. She said, the USEM will only release the request letter after the interview. I was shocked! I told her that some of the K1 filers got the request letter when they had the confirmation email. She then said that that's not the case anymore and then I asked her when did that policy started since one of my friends got the letter like just this month only. Her voice was irritated already and I really don't know why coz I was talking to her patiently and calmly innocent.gif even if she sounded mean to me. She did not answered but said that I have to go to USEM but with no guarantee that the guard will let me go inside. I explained to her again that I am from Cebu and I want to make sure that if i will go there, I wont be just wasting my money and time. She snorted that my problem is not her problem anymore and I have to find way to get that letter on my own. Wow! wow.gif I really cant believe she said that. I told her that the reason why im calling it is because they are working there and they know what we need to do. She was not able to reply coz the call was cut...I was saved by the bell..dont have enough phoneload. One thing I'm sure though, I can't take it anymore what ever she will say. That staff surely is not in the good mood and Im hoping she's not like that everyday. Bless her.

Anyway my fiance will call again tomorrow and hoping they will be nice to him.

PEACE TO ALL!!! heart.gif

Philippinesdocument verification fee
No need to pay effective date: Oct. 2008 due to long list of backlogs NSO can no longer handle the document verification thing. That's why they NSO and USEM agreed to cancel document verification.

QUOTE (mrscruz @ Feb 26 2009, 09:52 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hi, Did you pay for this? I read here that it is not needed anymore but on website it still says to pay it.
Just making sure I dont need to pay this. Or should I go ahead and pay to be safe? To those who just recently done with their interview; did you pay the 650 doc verification. Salamat.

PhilippinesDREAMS
Before Jesus time God communicates to his people through visions and dreams with many throughout the Bible and God still can communicate in any way he choses. He used Joseph. It is not Joseph's own knowledge to interpret dreams but it is God who gave him knowledge to interpret it to let them know on what will happen in the future. Like when he interpreted Pharoah's dream about the 7 years of abundance and 7 years of famine because God will give them famine after 7 years of abundance that's why they were aware and save food for the coming famine. That is why Pharoah made Joseph as his right hand and entrusted everything to Joseph because he knows only Joseph has the blessing and guidance from God. That is the story about Joseph the dream interpreter.
In our new generation today, we submit ourselves to Jesus cuz we know He's the only way to God. Of course if you have faith and trust in Jesus. No need for dream interpreter. Dream is only a DREAM and no meaning at all.

PhilippinesWhat is the best time to call Usembassy in manila , for follow up
the best time to call is 8am-9am because it is hard to get through the line after 9am as what i've experienced. it will cost you a lot of money if you keep redialing remember once you call USEM every second counts, every second must be paid. so better be early when you call. God bless.
