I miss being able to put my head on his chest and hear his heart beating, i miss his arms around me while he sings along softly to Alafasy's anachid, the smell of his skin, i miss talking and laughing ourselves to sleep, i miss cous cous (skso) on fridays together with him and his family, our long walks together, making him laugh when i ask for Maruja chocolate, making meals together (he's such a good cook), and i miss the peace i felt in my heart knowing that if i am just fortunate enough to open my eyes again in the morning - i will find him there, right beside me.

Inchaallah we will all be reunited with our loved ones soon! crying.gif

I know there is also something that my husband uses for upset stomachs - it looks like a black seed...but I can't figure it out....Nigella seeds maybe..let me do some research.

ETA: Fenugreek Seeds

Yeah, there's a lady at my mosque who swears that these black seeds she has will cure me of anything... haven't tried it yet blush.gif

i am going to have to google that one.. have no idea where to find such a thing lol

just for future knowlege to all, fenugreek from what i understand can give you a miscarriage. just since we are recommending them if this is true want everyone to know about it! i know fenugreek is a main ingredient in indian food and i think they say you can eat indian food bc the amt of fenugreek is so small but if you are talking about eating seeds or brewing them i would say be careful when pregnant.

my FIL is moroccan and he likes tea with something called "sheeba" which is like a fuzzy green leaf and "luisa" which is lemon verbena. sheeba might be the hebrew term but i think luisa is the arabic and hebrew term

In arabic the word for wormwood herb is called sheHa (She7a - ????? ) sooo maybe thats what you were thinking of by the word "sheeba" ? good.gif

Middle East and North AfricaMENA what is the name of that tea???
Oooo I think i think i think i just may know what it was! There was a tea that my husband made for me when i was there and had an upset stomach... it is made with a slightly bitter tasting herb, a type of wormwood. It definitly did the trick for my tummy! I also was given cumin mixed in some water once for the same kind of upset stomach but didnt quite work like the wormwood tea did.

I actually meant to bring some home with me but then - i didnt even think, especially in my last few weeks there, about anything other than spending time with my hubby! tongue.gif

I dont know about its availability here in the states, but its probably available somewhere online at least, maybe check on some natural foods websites or whatnot!
Good luck! good.gif

Everything is right in the world!!! I called and was informed that NO TRANSLATIONS are needed IF the documents are already in ARABIC *and* the interview is in MOROCCO kicking.gif

She also said all originals will be returned to the beneficiary at the time of the interview.

It takes appx 2-4 weeks to review the documents then they are sent to consulate (as long as nothing is missing)....
Then the interviews are scheduled, MAY is already booked up so soonest it would be scheduled if they get stuff now is JUNE .... STILL..... its getting CLOSEEEEEEEE!!!! kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif

do I need to send a photocopies of the translations or the original translations or both? thanks?

I called NVC already a few weeks ago to ask about the translations for documents not in ENGLISH (which for us is basically ALL of the documents required to send for our case except for the form DS-230 itself)

They told me quite assuredly that the documents did not even need to be translated if they were in the language of my hubby's country/place of interview - MOROCCO.

unsure.gif unsure.gif But even so... I just got that old sinking feeling in my stomach and now i'm reeeeeeeealy hoping i didn't mess up by not sending any translations?? I think i'll be calling NVC again tomorrow and hope i get the same info as before....

Anyone have any thoughts or experience with that? wacko.gif

Please let me know what happened after you call NVC. thanks

InshaAllah i will write the results of that tomorrow!! Hoping for the best !! blink.gif

Hi all,

I just came across this alarming thread in the US Embassy and Consulate forum:

http://www.visajourn...howtopic=191515

Has everyone else who's interviewed recently in Casa been asked to supply English translations from Morocco for these documents? I just don't get it. Why would U.S. certified and notarized translations be unacceptable to a U.S. consulate? The translator I used for the NVC specifically translates documents for U.S. government departments. My husband will probably be interviewing in June and we'll get this done if necessary. whistling.gif

_________

smile.gif Hello all...

RE TRANSLATIONS:

I called NVC and asked specifically about whether ENGLISH translations of documents in ARABIC are required and they told me that NO TRANSLATIONS are needed if the documents are in ARABIC because that is the official language of Morocco?

Or maybe that thread talking about ARABIC translations of documents that are in ENGLISH? unsure.gif

________

offtopic45vn.gif Also i'm thinking of asking this question in another thread but does anyone know what QUESTION 23 - "Professional Associations to which you belong" means in the DS-230? Would you think this could also mean some professional volunteer associations or is that question referring to something else completely? headbonk.gif

I have a question, do you know if I can send the paper they want from France ? I'm sure that it is cuz' of my divorce... So I will get the document ready, wait for Jamie to open the mail with the RFE and send the paper to the US from here.
Do you know what is the most secure and fast way to do it ? UPS ?

I'm so sad !!!

sad.gif I'm sorry Juliette. I don't know if you can send it from France directly to CSC. For RFE's I think you have to send the RFE and the additional information back to CSC together. My fiance sends me stuff in the regular french mail and it arrives to me in about a week. I'm sure that you'd know better than me. Sorry though.

I just called my man and he told me that with FEDEX it is very fast, expensive but fast...

I know you want it there ASAP, but I've had bad experiences with FEDEX. I paid a lot for next day shipping when we mailed the I-129F and it took 4 days to get there. I would have just sent it through the US postage and saved myself $65 if I'd known!

Everyone's rings are BEAUTIFUL! Shannon & Nick, we're thinking of getting ours engraved at some point. I'm getting a diamond band but a cheap Walmart one or something to wear to work everyday. I can't bear the thought of ruining the diamond one! So we might get those engraved. Hmmm, aside from pics of red dresses and engagement rings, how else can we distract ourselves?

I'm all up for ideas! smile.gif

The first August filer was approved. I'm happy for them, but it's frustrating to see people who filed after us approved before us. I'm soooooooooooo anxious to see that NOA2 already! Had a bit of a quarrel with Sebastian earlier, so I'm not in the best of moods, and we're just ready to put all of this bureaucracy behind us. Tomorrow is another day though!

I've been meaning to buy mine this week, but I've been so busy with exams. I've picked it out though! And Sebastian bought his when we bought my engagement ring. He's been wearing it on his right hand, as his engagement ring, until the wedding.

Any idea what kind of stuff makes people go into AP? I'm probably worrying about nothing (as usual) but although Sebastian is British, his dad is Iranian and with our relations with them being a bit strained right now I'm wondering if that would raise any eyebrows. Sebastian doesn't have any kind of dual citizenship with Iran, and has never even visited for that matter since his dad moved to the UK when he was a teenager, but who knows.

We also attached a letter explaining that Sebastian has a SSN from living in the States when he was a kid (his dad worked in California). I'm now wondering if we should've even bothered or if it will just hold things up.

Just venting a bit! First, of course, we need the NOA2. Someone sprinkle some luck dust our way smile.gif.

hi all, I am looking for opinions here... We are getting married on Feb. 21st , I want to wear a red short dress, not a gown.. I also want to wear boots with it.. Now my reason for this is , red signifies something special to me.. The song , lady in red is the song that my father chose to leave to me when he passed away. I still cry 20 years later when I hear that song but its ok , so I feel this is my special time and the red dress would be great plus its in febuary and close to valentines day. Also I have lost alot of weight over the last couple of years and I think I am ready LOL to show off some leg plus keith likes that idea hehe. AS for the boots, Keith loves women in boots. I have never worn them because I always had problems walking in heels with my extra weight . anyways.. I was telling some friends my idea and they responded with ... that is stupid, its your wedding and you will look strange dressed in a red dress with boots getting married sad.gif . Keith would love it and as I said before the red dress means something to me soo what do you guys think. I consider you all my family as you all understand what we are going through. Would you wear the red dress and boots? I wont go hooker look lol , just a pretty red dress ... Please give me your opinions.. Thanks
CHelle

Oh, don't listen to them at ALL! I highly suggest joining the Offbeat Bride Tribe. It's an online forum for women (and some men!) who want to break away from traditional weddings. There's an entire group dedicated to red dress brides and some of them are absolutely breathtaking! Go, join, get some inspiration, and wear your gorgeous red dress!

PS

here is the letter she prepared...what do you all think???

Dear Sir or Madam:

This letter is to confirm that Merilee E. Hartell is employed with us since May 15, 2008 on full time basis as Laundry Attendant/Housekeeping. Her annual salary is Approx. 16,892/year. With overtime it can be more and be between 17,750 to 18,400. Merilee E. Hartell does work overtime when we ask her and we are willing to give her more if she needs it to make over the 17,500.

I just do not want them to go well SO what you do not get the visa because of lack of work for 10 years...
PLUS I was married to some moron who would NOT work and he was an abusive control freak...SIGH I JUST WANT TO BE HAPPYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

Well, I'm a bit of a stickler when it comes to professional writing (nursing/English double major right here!), so I'll show you how I would word it. Feel free to ignore my advice if you think it would offend whoever wrote the letter, this is just the part of my university writing center mentor coming through smile.gif. First of all, "is employed" should be "has been employed" since they're talking about the month of May. Also, "approximately" does not need to be capitalized. Saying "annual" and "/year" is redundant, so I'd choose one or the other. They're missing a few dollar signs. And the rest of it could just use a little tweaking to sound a bit more professional.

"Dear Sir or Madam:
This letter is to confirm that Merilee E. Hartell has been employed with us since May 15, 2008. Her Laundry Attendant/Housekeeping position is full-time and her annual salary is approximately $16,892. However, Ms. Hartell often works overtime, which may increase her annual salary to between $17,750 and $18,400. We are more than willing to accommodate Ms. Hartell in her requests for overtime so that she may reach the set federal financial requirements for her foreign fiance to join her in the United States."

I hope that was helpful! And know that we're all wishing loads of good luck your way smile.gif.

A bit off topic, but have any of you received private messages from the newly registered member godwill? I got a slightly creepy message asking for me to email him/her pictures and it said something like, "Remember, love knows no color". I got a little freaked out and sent the administrator a PM. I hope they ban people like that. Ugh.
