Man I know what you mean. My cousin is just so hyper. He is 10 and he gets away with murder. That just drives me crazy. I tell him no then he asks my mom or my Aunt and of course he gets whatever it was that he was asking for. Girl the first time I went I was mad. First of all it took forever for the move to start. We had to see the previews and music videos and then we had to stand for the Jamaican anthem. Then the Jamaicans talk and bumba and blood claut threw the movie and then there was intermission. I was floored but I must say I loved the experience but I still laugh when I think about it.

Last year I was so miserable wishing he was here and counting down the days till the next day I was able to see him now he is here Praise GOD!

My thanksgiving was WONDERFUL!! I went over my brothers house and I think I’m finally getting the point of how important family is. It was so nice being all together. Both my mom and father came and they were cordial. I didn’t even notice anything but my brother the baby he is noticed some things but it was fine to me. We ate and ate and ate and then we played our famous card game Screw Your Neighbor but when the kids play we call it Steal From Your Neighbor. I was excited and then let down that my bros BF messed up the Festival. They weren’t sweet at all and they were hard but hey he tried for me right? He said it’s been so long since he made them he guesses he messed up on dem. My brothers mother in law was there and she still speaks patwa. She only speaks English when needed and I enjoyed hearing her talk I felt even better I could understand most of the stuff she was saying. My mother and dad were looking at her like blink.gif and most of the time they just said oookkk but you could tell dey didn’t know what she was saying. They made me miss the island even more crying.gif .

I’m glad you let Steve pick the towels. Ladies word to the wise let your husbands have some say so on the way you decorate your house .I was on the phone with my dad for more than an hour this morning and the main thing he talked about was how my mom never let him have no say so. He is actually glad that he’ll now be able to decorate the house the way he sees fit. I instantly thought of you ladies because he told me how my mom was real quick to have him pay for the stuff but never let him pick the stuff so yes ladies let them have a voice .

Now of course if they want to paint the living room a god awful purple and buy poka dot furniture to match well then buy all means speak up but if its something else just smile and say sure honey (and then make faces behind his back…lol)

I'm driving about 3 and a half hours from Atlanta to Bainbridge, Georgia to spend time with my family and my best friend and her family...she has a total of 10 kids at her house between her 5 and her 5 step-kids...damn real life Brady bunch. I hear you some think I’m crazy for leaving my husband but I wasn’t happy and now I’m moving on. I really agreed with what Lady C sent out the other day. My hubby was a season he was not made to be permanent. I thought of staying for the kids but kids today aren’t dumb they can tell when someone is miserable and I have first hand knowledge of it. My parents were married for 36 years but they were miserable!! I never wanted to get married because of them and I had to get out of my marriage to avoid my kids from growing up the same way. I don’t want my kids to have the same outlook. I want them to see marriage as a good thing not hell no I don’t want to get married I might end up like my momma. Life is too short to be miserable. I am a firm believer in that.

Ladies I hope that starting with our generation we get back on the right foot. Marriage is not valued the way is used to be. I personally think the main thing missing from marriages is communication and compromise. In a marriage you have to remember to be a team. Sometimes you have to bend to make your mate happy but it shouldn’t be one person bending you both have to bend especially in the bedroom. Wait that’s not what I was getting at that must be the cob webs talking but anyway just try your best to compromise and work things out together.

In my next marriage I’m hoping my husband and I practice not going to bed mad. I think if you can work out your problems before going to bed it makes it better. Of course sometimes there will be a need to go to bed mad. Sometimes its best to say nothing and calm down before you say something hurtful but I hope that is not practiced too often.

Besides that which only may affect the vets I feel VJ is very informative, I was clueless when the thought first crossed my mind now I can give others advice. for the newbies that are only concerned with the visa process you can’t blame them we all was that way once. It’s only because I been on here a while that I would want to know when the next stella is coming out or if dada took care of those cobb webs lol or if regal got approved or if sus went to amnesia on her ja trip or if philly is still chasing cats ect… lol lol


Oh its on Newly.(As I grease up my face) I’m trying not to show the newbies the real Dada but yuh pulling her out. Whoo you have me ROOOLLLLLIIIINNNNNNN!!! And yes the cob webs are still there. Put it like this Den back in the day there was a smiley popcorn and mainly all the time someone was posting it because reading VJ was like a soap opera you had to grab some popcorn and a drink, sit back tell the kids not to bother you while you were reading or even tell your boss hold that thought because you were in the middle of a project that had to be completed by a certain deadline and here your rass was reading VJ.

Whoo girl I’m an admin and I would really have an attitude if someone would ask me to do something while I was reading VJ. So what I was on here 6 out of the 8 hours I was at work I’m busy people come back later actually tomorrow was best . I’m serious Den in 10 minutes no lie we would go through like 3-4 pages. If you ever get any spare time sometimes you can go look at our old threads. We shared break ups, heartaches, fights, how we planned on killing our mother in laws and our husband’s babies momma’s. Oops let me not say that before popo be at my door but for real. Me, Honey and Philly was always about to get childlined by CYS because we talked of how we gave our kids beat downs last night. We helped MsTee not to kill hers and we asked JG not to kill the ducks that she went out to hunt but little did we know she was missing the target anyways but don’t tell her I told you that. Tre and Quana was battling babies daddy drama and Tre is always cooking for a large function and brings things to lunch that make you do this. Nat was planning a surprise birthday party for Steven down JA and got kicked out of the hotel because she invited too many people. Ells was about to go down JA and knock someone out because they weren’t paying her man. English was wrongly let go from her job but thank god she got it back but in the mean time she shared her pictures with us that are fabulous by the way, we cried with Jawi when she was in so much pain she could barely hold her head up but we haven’t heard form her in a while so hopefully she is o.k. oh and she started a mini series called Stella that had you trying all new kinds of positions with your mate. I’m still upset with her on that one she never finished the story so I’m boycotting reading her other stories but I hear they are all that. Marlita started a blog about her relationship and talks about when she had a bus accident down JA with her man and she got married right before a hurricane hit but now he is here and she is having twins. Quana is the peacemaker of the group but she always talks about her boot leg cable and she is the researcher of the group if you need to know it she can find it oh yeah Sus too is the master on research. Every time someone ask a question she normally comes back with a picture. Newly is my side kick we always have to talk that girl out of buying 500 dollar shoes but she never seems to listen so I think we all have gave up on telling her no. As you can tell Shemmy is celebrating 5 years of not killing her hubby so she gets a reward. Oh ladies memba when Philly told us the story of her ex boyfriend hiding behind a bush and he was bigger than the bush. Whoo that was funny I think she told us that when Lovesponge was going through some drama right?? Ha memba I teased Kimmy because her hubby was in an accident but yet she was on VJ and I think she replied well he’s o.k….

Because we were all opinionated many times we got into arguments you know on a public forum your always guaranteed to offend someone but in the end we normally kiss and make up. Oh and we picked on Finese because she always talks about having a sexy party and the girls don’t understand how she is sexing so much and still has energy.

Probably my hormones speaking but if I posted something negative...everyone would have responded. Not that we need a standing ovation but lasting 5 years is great in my opinion. These marriges could be very challenging.

It seems newbies are only worried about the visa not what happens after. They don't want advise from the vets. Getting the visa is the easy part. Back in the day, we would share the good, bad and the ugly. We fought, made up and kept it moving. Now people are afraid to share because of other people feelings. We all supported each other. It seems newbies only support other newbies. I have not been on here much lately but I try to support everyone.

I’m glad you shared finally we have a topic to discuss….

I definitely know where you are coming from and I haven’t been on VJ that long. Back in the day our conversations did seem to be more like conversations and now its like all we do is talk about the Visa process. I mean granted that is what VJ is for to discuss the VJ process but back in the day it seemed like we talked about more life to life things and VJ less. I think because the vets have left and there are only newbies around that is what has turned the board more in an opposite direction. The new ladies are not comfortable yet so they tend to not share as much. Memba when you left VJ for a hour you had 5-6 pages to catch up on and now you can be gone for a few days and you can catch up in minutes.

I don’t have a love interest in JA no more but I too tend to stick around d just because I have formed a bond with some of you ladies. I do secretly hope it picks back up to the way it used to be but.. well.. it may not.

JQ you thought me and Sus was the worse huh? Girl you missed some good ones then. That was tamed compared to what I have seen in the past. Sus and I don’t speak I think we both said some things that offended the other so we avoid each other and I’m sure the whole board can tell but its cool to keep the peace for sake of others

Shemmy I do commend you on five years of marriage. Now a days that is a milestone and a great accomplishment. Especially if you are happy. Some couples can make it to five even ten years but are you happy is what matters the most. If you can say yes well then girl in my eyes you and him deserve a standing ovation. I wasn’t around in the beginning so I’m not sure what challenges you had to overcome but I’m sure there were some. It can’t be easy adjusting from visiting to living together in a whole new country too. Whoo I’m giving myself a headache just thinking about it….

Welcome Dan-Dan!!! U are in Houston that is where Nat is from. Be very careful VJ can become very addictive. Sometimes you’ll sign on to VJ before loggin on to your own work site. There used to be a time when I was gone from the computer to long I would text Quana like what’s going on…lol Oh are how about talking about Vj to one of your friends or man and they look at you like this blink.gif ….

I’m still not talking to Mrs. Palmer but can someone tell her hat I really enjoyed her adjustment story. See that is how life is there are some good with the bad. I really commend these men. You figure they work their rasses off in JA to take care of their families and you would think that when they get here they would enjoy some relaxation. Shoot I would but they don’t. They want to get right back to work and get upset when they can’t work right away… It amazes me but that is what makes them men. So even though you feel bad you should also feel good knowing your hubby and anent no slouch he just wants to take care of his wife.

It sounds like you are handling it just fine and yes I know you need some me time when you first walk in the house. It’s like you just need a minute to relax. You need time to go from your work attitude to your home attitude. Even thought it may have hurt his feelings I like that you were honest. Communication is key. I always tell people whether it will hurt me or not just tell me.

Jut think when he starts working he’ll understand more because he’ll need the same thing too.
