He has spoken to Michael on the phone but hasn't met him. He doesn't even know we are married. My son was going through so many issues with school and smellin himself that he would have just used the marriage as an excuse for his behavior so I haven't told him.....but I have to tell him when he returns because my daughter can't hold water---even with a bucket!!! And she loves to announce to everyone that she has TWO daddy's!!

Isn’t that just ridiculous?? My son told me the same thing he doesn’t want me to date anyone he just wants it to be the two of us. Umm excuse me honey but you will be dating in about three years and then two more years after that off to college and you think I’m supposed to sit here an be lonely all that time?? I told him I think that is very selfish of you. He told me not to worry once he graduates he‘s buying a big house so we can live in it together. I told him buy the big house but make no plans of me moving in it unless I’m sick. As soon as all my kids are old enuff to fend for themselves mommas on the first thing smoking.

Hi all:

I started visiting the website a couple of years ago (2007 sometime). My story may be a little different from most of yours. I came on a student visa from Jamaica back in 2000. Met my husband in 2003 and got married in 2006 and did AOS in 2007. I am now filing for my citizenship which should be completed Feb/March 2010.

I seem to always come by when a new set of ladies are posting. I got in trouble with some of the earlier ladies because I chose to defend my Jamaican brothers from some derogatory comments made by a spurned SO. Long story short, I decided not to come back if that was all that was being posted. I am glad I did take a quick peek a couple of weeks ago because the stories are much more pleasant and happy.

By the way, good morning PhillyFashionista! Hope I got that right.

Hello...

I hope you do decide to pop in a little more and chat with us and we just call her Philly her name is too dang long!!!

Hey ladies

Congrats to all that got approved, has their men here in the US going to get approved soon, and for the strong Jamaican relationships we all have or we all have had.

Just wanted to leave this with you.

Women are great financial planners

Dan was a single guy living at home with his father and working in the family business.
When he found out he was going to inherit a fortune when his sickly father died,
he decided he needed a wife with which to share his fortune. One evening at an
investment meeting he spotted the most beautiful woman he had ever seen.
Her natural beauty took his breath away. "I may look like just an ordinary man,"
he said to her, but in just a few years, my father will die, and I'll inherit $200 million."
Impressed, the woman obtained his business card and three days later,
she became his stepmother.

Women are so much better at financial planning than men.

my ex demanded our kids called their aunts and uncles by that name "aunt shay" or whatever.. i however didn't mind them calling them by their name (remember we had our oldest at 18 so our siblings were teenagers)
that kind of stuff..

Ooh Nooo I agree with the X on this I don’t care if the aunt is only a year or two older then them. They have to call them aunt or uncle in front of their name. My one cousin has started calling our aunts and uncles by their first names. I looked at her as if she lost her mind. She tried calling my dad buy his name and he turned around and told her call me by my first name again and watch what happens. She laughed but you could tell my dad was dead serious. She never called him by his first name again.

Why are they not being held to the same standards as I was. I am just mad at everyone right now blink.gif

Exactly!!!! The things my son say and do my mom nor dad would neva allow. My son complains about cleaning the kitchen. He tells me its too much. Cha!!! At your age I was damn near cleaning the whole house including washing the windows and blinds and you complain about doing the kitchen and you have a dishwasher to help you? At your age I was the freaking dishwasher!!!! And my mom asks me do I do the dishes sometimes to try and help him out? Hell no. Me buying the dish washing liquid is helping him out. He made me so mad I have band him from using the dishwasher since it’s so hard with it lets see how it is without.

My kids are good kids. How we got here was a struggle sometimes. I didn't want little robots (although they are surprisingly like me in many ways!). I wanted them to have interests and minds and whatever else all their own. I just wanted them respectful, hard working, and loving children. I wanted them safe and secure. I say I have done a fine job.

Last night we were watching Forensic Files on TruTV. There was a case where this man sexually abused his son, and when his wife tried to take their son & daughter away, he killed her. But he didn't just shoot her and walk away. He shot her in the head, then went through great pains to remove her jaw & cut her teeth out, as well as cut her into pieces, & bury her body parts in different places. That way, he felt they'd never determine who the dead person was. He also pushed her car into a lake & claimed that she deserted her family.

My question was, what is WRONG with people who can do this? And I feel most sorry for those parents. How, as a parent, would you feel if your child did this type of stuff!!!???!!? I wonder if there is some common denominator with all the parenting styles of cold-blooded murderers. Not saying there is or not; I just wonder.

aftanoon massive!

when ppl have 2 different ideas about raising children, im not sure what can be done besides trying to find some middleground..

i had this problem even w/ my kids biological dad, he stayed on them, sometimes unnecessarily in my eyes, and my idea was that "they are good kids overall, you don't have to be so strict"

we fought sometimes about it, but not enough to cause a major rift.. well not that issue anyway lol

roger believes i should punish my youngest more than i do, he has mentioned it a few times, "steph needs a whooping" . and in those instances he was right, i don't notice until she is out w/ others.. becuz she is such a smart and mature child, i try to give her the benefit of the doubt, but in the end she is still a child and i can't let her act so dyam grown.. i may not put my hands on her as much as roger would on his kids (HE SAYS) but i am gnna start laying the smack down more often..

good luck finding ur middle ground irie

right! but dont u see he has a different view on how a child should behave? stress is no good for anyone..does Tierra say any after he speaks to her or are u the one feeling the "hurt" for her? so ur reacting on his words many children are resilient and until they develop the understanding they will let things "roll" of their shoulders..I see it with Kimora..and she is the only child..and so is Shems daughter

She is an only child but I extremely strict rules in my house...always have and always will. Damien has told plenty of people that I don't play. You cannot have the same rules for a 4 year-old as a 17 year-old..children do grow up.

I have a feeling someone is gonna get cussed out before the end of the day! mad.gif

Philly I have the same problem. My oldest calls my mom every time we get into it and then my parents call me and want me to explain. Thy shall respect thy mother and thy father but I’m telling you I have had it with the questioning from my parents. I could see if I was beating the kids like I really want to well I did kind of take off my earrings and fought my oldest like he was a chic in the street but still besides that one time its not like I’m beating him to death. I had to finally stand up to my parents (shaking legs and all ) and tell them that he is MY son and I will punish him way I see fit. Then I turned to my son and told him he can call my parents the Pope and even the president. If you live in my house you will follow my rules!!!!

He is really challenging me lately. He turned 13 and now thinks he has a mortgage with a job.

Funny, I can ONLY do drums. I usually end up concentrating so hard my mouth is hanginf open! LOL

I'm bobbing my head and rocking out the guitar! I'm really not good at it though.

I am best at the singing. My friends always kid me. Even though I refuse to sing karoke (unless you want your bar cleared out!).....I know the words to pretty much every damn song I ever hear. I ROCK on the singing part on this game.

Has anyone heard from Finesse? I'm a little worried about her. She's been gone a few days.

Finesse WHERE ARE YOU? Are you okay?

I hear so much about this game I have to try it....

OMG....I want to see that movie so bad. When we went to see Julie & Julia, we saw the preview. My daughter and I were bawling the whole time. Please tell me how that is.

For any Sandra Bullock fans out there she gets two thumbs up from me on this film. It was SO VERY GOOD!!!! I am so glad we went to see this movie. Some tear jerking moments of course but Sandra delivers it. She had the southern accent down pat and she had a no non sense attitude that I loved. Definitely a must see!!!

Dada when someone takes you to a fancy place and is paying for it take the chance to get something that you never have had before. You and always go to a drive through afterwards if you are still hungry.

Yes mam!!!! LOL

Im going to read some of the other vj post, gonna bounce in from time to time. I am so bored. Now that school is after today, I don't know what to do with myself lol...actually i still need to study for my state math exam.

Im sorry I never posted a picture of the quilt I made. My cooperating teacher was out sick and I just left it with her. Never took the pics. sad.gif

I was just doing that myself. I snooped into the profiles of some of our newest members that haven't come over to say hi yet...

We are leaving at 1:00 today. One of my immediate supervisors is taking us to lunch at the Cheescake Factory and then the movies afterwards. I think we're going to see Blindside with Sandra Bullock. Hey it works for me.

Then on Friday its our dept Xmas party and then next week another immediate supervisor of mines is taking us to some fancy restaurant called Eleven. I just hope its not too fancy where I don’t care for or can pronounce what is on the menu. At the end of the day I’m just a meant and potatoes type of gyal. Times like this I love supporting so many people.

Hey does anyone watch Harlem Height or Nights on BET? I hear its pretty good.

what's up mstee Im freezing in my office took the train today and think I'll go back to driving even though I miss reading in the morning
oh well............

I can't say I blame you. You are a little more in control when you drive...

Yes. But, I would give anything to be able to take the train. Wish we had something even remotely decent here that could get me to and from work. I HATE driving with all the insane people and the ever changing weather.

I need to move to Chicago.

Chicago?? Brr I shiver just thinking about it....

Elite Upscale Weddings. Is the name I ant to use. But I am still waiting on the approval from Kingston. Which I had known they have to approve my name before ordering and paying for cards, sign, ect lmao

Another Jamaican Lesson Learned

Speaking of, Steven and I were at the Hi-Lo downtown (formerly Value Master or something like that) last week and he pointed out this sign to me. He seemed to know that it was yours!
