Just called NVC and operator told me she does not have access to the invoice id number. I will receive a letter from NVC which is supposed to be sent this week and the number will be on there. Does this sound right? Or just a bunch of #######?

Daughters I-130 approved but no A number applied. Wifes approval and K-3 has this number. Anyone have any explanation? USCIS doesn't. Called c/s line and they told me to wait for two weeks and call back?????????

Here is something a little strange..........

Daughter approved Feb 11, wife Feb 13, called today and have wife's NVC number, but nothing for the daughter. When I arrived home, I found the NOA2 for the wife and I compared to the daughter's.
My wife has an A number and my daughter does not.

I called USCIS and the agent told me the number has not been generated yet because they are so busy, and I should call back in two weeks. Maybe then it will be available. This does not sound right to me. Knowing USCIS, they would not have sent the I-797 without the A number if she is supposed to have one. She is 6 years old.

Anyone run into this before???????

Dazed and confused

Hello Everyone;;

The reason I was excited about the I-130 was because the adjustment of status is not needed later and she should have her EAD and SSN very quiickly. If I do elect to go with the K-3, can someone fill me in on the timeline for her to be able to work?
This is something important for her and I thnk being able to interact with othe people will help her adjust as well. I am at the crossroads and must decide soon.

Thanks much

MMW;

When I applied, I sent a petition for my wife and our child. Now today I am approved for her K-3.
My wife is a litle freaked about sending me originals because they are all she has, ie birth certificates etc.
She is thinking the K-3 would be better because we take the originals to the embassy, and of course I would be there, but I understand th I-130 would be better for her when she arrives.
I have tried to explain that the difficulty must be either now or later, and that the I-130 would be better for her when she arrives, but of course she is thinking about quickly being together.

Now that the K-3 is approved (actually dated late friday) what should I do with one petition.
She got a little shook about the possibillity of different interview dates.

I did not anticipate this mess

I just thought about this after reading the shortcut through NVC
Since my wife and our daughter were approved on different dates, and the
NVC schedules the interview date, can they be scheduled together?
With the K-3 I can schedule the date and of course we would be together,
but I would like to be there and two different dates would make it nearly impossible.
Anyone have this problem before?

Hello All;

Our I-130s for wife and daughter approved 2/11 and 2/13 but still no K-3 approval. I was so counting on the K-3 approval
because I have been lead to believe that was the fastest way, so I have no idea what to do next. I do not have the number for NVC to see if the files are there and get numbers. I need some help with this from my friends here at VJ.
This site and the people here have been there for me when I needed someone who was understanding. After we are a family, I will return to help those who need it. I know how I felt when I knew nothing. I now know more than my contact at my congressman's
office, so I have been told. It has been by learning the hard way, but for good cause.
Thanks to all here and for everyone, a speedy trip through NVC and embassy

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Proceduresphysical abuse

So she was here on a student visa, married and filed to adjust her status? If so, they'll go to an interview together prior to any green card. If she needs to leave, there's not likely to be a green card. She needs competent legal assistance in this matter.

Thank you !!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Proceduresphysical abuse
My wife has know her for almost her whole life. This girl has made bad chooses in boyfriends before. One reason for not wanting to go home to her country is that she grew up in an abusive house. The aunts(who live in the U.S. too) suspects abuse, she denies it. I just want to find out if she can stay after she would leave him, so she has one less reason to stay with him. I think she married for love (or for what she thinks is love). She just makes bad chooses. She has low self-esteem stem.

She's being living in the U.S. for years going to school.

My wife and I have a friend who got married 8 or 9 months ago. She filed for her green card and going thought the waiting period now. Her family thinks the guy my be physically abusing her. Marks have been seen on her body. The guy also has a very controlling personality. Obviously she needs to leave the guy no matter what. But knowing her she's probably afraid to. What he my do.. failed marriage... And being made to leave the U.S.. I know if marriage is ended she won't get card. but when I was doing the paper work for my wife I think I remember reading something about an exception for abuse. Do I remember correctly? It's been a while since I did my wife papers.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresOMG I130 Approved VSC is working!!
Hi everyone! I was searching on VJ about this topic because I have been considering writing my congressman as well... i have one version of a letter but its mostly this long-winded whining story about how much i miss my husband and how married couples should not have to wait a year just to be able to live together as man and wife so please help me etc etc!! crying.gif

So after reading this thread i was just wondering what (generally) did those of you who wrote a letter write? I am definitly going to send a letter but just i wasnt sure if my emotional ranting would be appropriate or not... i basically poured my heart heart.gif out onto the page, but then after re-reading it i didnt know whether perhaps i should hold back on that a bit and keep my composure better instead?

Any thoughts/suggestions on this anyone??

Hello everyone... I'm totally over analyzing right now but I'm just wondering how others have responded or intend to respond to this question 22 where it asks "In what occupation do you intend to work in the United States". We are planning to just see what opportunities are out there for my hubby when he gets here and go from there. He had been a chauffeur in the past, but i'm not sure that's what he'll be intending to be here.... on the example DS-230 it says just to "name it if known" in the space after this question. What do we do if it's UNKNOWN? idea9dv.gif Or did i just answer my own question? hahaha should i put UNKNOWN? blink.gif

I-485 is for when the immigrant is living in the US and they are adjusting status.

If you are living in Egypt the only way for you now to immigrate here to be with your wife is a I-130. It taking about 5 months to get approved at USCIS than you have NVC to get through. Unfortunately for you and your embassy the wait from case Complete at NVC until getting a interview is about 185 days . I have people on my list still waiting since October for interview. Sorry.

Sooner you file sooner you will be here.

Have your wife read the guides about IR1/CR1 (I-130 Petition)..

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresRFE Still Hasn't Arrived
Hello,

So I applied in middle of October for my i-130. Feb 1st i got an update on the USCIS website that an RFE was sent in the mail. 2 weeks went by and nothing so i called and requested them to resend the RFE. I still hadn't received anything by early marched, called again, and they told me to call back first of February.

What is going on? How hard is it for them to mail me something? Should i call my congressman? Should i get annoyed and start asking them to seriously look into this because i've almost wasted 2 months waiting for this RFE and i didnt pay the $400 ish for them not to give me anything.

Thanks,
Ergo

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresThe Stupid RFE Thread

I got an RFE today to submit a properly completed and signed Form G-325A.

I have to resubmit the same form as the one I submitted was correct but I am not sure why they have issued an RFE for the one I properly filled, red 15times by 3 different people. Local offices are trying to set up a NEW NORMAL timeline of 6 to 7 months.

I had the same problem except they said they mailed out the RFE Feb 1st, and after 10 weeks of calling them weekly it finally arrived in the mail mid april. Now i'm just waiting for their next response. UGH.

Also i noticed what i sent in was a G-325A and what they wanted me to fill out for the RFE was a G-325 so I dont know why they didnt just mention that in the first place.

Hi! I've been reading posts here, but it's my first time to post. Visa Journey has helped me all throughout my application.

I had my AOS interview today and thank God, I was approved. The interview lasted for 30 minutes. Me and my husband were both interviewed. The interviewer asks us about how we met, the wedding and some facts from the application form that we had submitted. It's easy, just be prepared with all the documentations. I hope everyone will also have their approval soon! Thank you Visa Journey ... smile.gif

Your dad doesn't have to explain anything to his employer. He should go to HR and ask for a salary verification letter. They can give his hourly salary if he's paid that way or his annual pay if he's salaried. He can then attatch paystubs if he likes. No one needs to know a reason.

Also, the salary verification pay stubs are only really needed if you made less money on your previous tax return than you do currently. For me, because I worked a partial year my income wasn't enough for 2007 but my current income was well over the required guidelines. I used the salary verification letter and paystubs to prove that i currently made enough to sponsor him.

When my husband's visa was issued in 2009 they didn't ask for 2008 tax transcripts even though it had been about a year since his interview where 2007 transcripts were used. Algeria is a pretty easygoing helpful embassy IMO.

Thanks Mom of 1
My dads income is salaried, but most of his income comes from comission. He exceeds the required income, for sponsoring (co-sponsoring) So, if I guess it will be acceptable for him to send just the transcripts. I only had a few months of work history on this years tax's. So I think to be safe, I should send in my employer verifcation letter, and pay stubs. :). I know everyone here on Vj hopes for this... but i just hope to get everything right the first time around, to try to escape delays. This whole process can cause some anxiety. As im sure you know. SOOOO Im so thankful for all the wonderful support, and information, and feeling of community that we get here at VJ. Thanks again, for the info.

I didn't work for most of the years I was married, but since my husband worked with an EAD in the US I was able to use his income. I sent two tax transcripts from the year 2005 and 2006 but since I worked a partial year in 2007 I sent extra information which included: 2007 tax transrcips, salary verification letter, and 3 current paystubs. Might be overkill or uncessesary, but I didn't want any trouble. I didn't have a co-sponsor so I can't say for sure, but I think it's safe to assume you bot need the same evidence of income.

Mom of 1
Thanks for sharing, what you sent. Its always a good idea I think, to go overkill, with this :) Im going to try to send as much as I can. I just wanted to be sure, and have a clear Idea from the embassy. Also I think it will good to be able to attach this Email to my Affidavit. Im going to send paystubs, and a letter from my employer as well. My dad who is my cosponser, is uncofortable asking his employer for a statement... Hes very accepting and happy for my Engagement... but I think he dosnt want to have to explain the situation to his employer. idk. So hopefully his Tax transcripts, and pay stubs will be enough.

Hey guys, I have been trying ot get ready for after we get our NOA2. I have read alot on VJ about whats needed for the I-134 affidavit of support. Theres alot of information floating around out there, and everything seems to differ. Alot of posts said that the evidence you need to have, to go along with this form, is different for every embassy. So I decided to go straight to the source. Here is what the email I sent :

Hi,

My name is Danielle Walton, I am the USC petioner for a K1 fiance visa. This application is still at the Vermont service center, but I am trying to prepare for when it reaches the embassy there in Algeria. To help in making this a more smooth, and fast process. I have a couple questions, I hopt that you can find the time to reply. I realize your very busy there, so I hope this isnt too much of an imposition.
My question is regarding the I-134 affidavit of support. What evidence do you require to support the affidavit ? I will have a co-sponser as well, do they require the same evidence ? I have Tax transcripts, for the last three years, and also pay stubs. Is there more that you require, or would be beneficial to send along ?

Thank you for your time, and response :)

Danni

And this is the response I got :

Dear Sir,

Be informed that your last individual income tax 1040, W2 or tax transcript will be enough.

I think that I will print this email, and send it along with the I-134, incase they say that they need more then this, once they recieve it. Im also sending the paystubs, just for a lil extra cushion.
