And what Ukrainian/Russian woman in their right mind would move to Uzbekistan for a man? And I say that as an American who moved to Russia and not even for a dude. And shouldn't you, er, know her backstory and what country exactly she is from before you go and book plane tickets to Tashkent?

i havent booked any tickets for anything just getting advance advice.

Uzbeks are not Russians, they are not slaviks, they are turkmen. Different culture/language. I cannot say a lot about them in terms of women or having them for wives. They are generally considered of inferior stock, not to be racist, just sayin' it like it is. Kazaks, Uzbeks, Tajiks. A lot of them are illegals in Ukraine and Russia, particularly in Moscow. Moscow residents have made a pretty good business of fake marriages to them so they can live in Moscow (in Russia you need special permission to live in Moscow, St Petersburg and some other cities) Alla has translated several marriage/divorce certificates which were obviously marriages of convenience. Pretty well accepted practice. We had a lot of them, and Moldovans, for laborers in Ukraine. The tradesmen...plumbers, welders, steel workers, electricians, carpenters, were all Ukrainians or Russians. Usually the engineers were Russian, or foreign, some Ukrainians as engineers, never an Uzbek as an engineer. The laborers moved piles of stone by hand, with shovels. Backfilled foundations with shovels. Just brutal work, and they worked long and hard for little money and volunteered to work extra, late into the night, moving materials and things, all by hand.

They are pretty openly racist there, it is NOT the USA.

On the other hand there ARE ethnic Russians and Ukrainians living there also. What is her background?

She is good in english, fluent in russian, basic in french and german. I havent found out all details yet but it seems like she is Russian or Ukrainian. she went there for a husband and it did not work out. she has an 11 yr old son and 17 yr old son.

Hello everyone, I am planning a trip to tashkent in july or august. I am looking for info on Electric over there as I am an electrician. I know we use 60 hertz in U.S. and some countries use 50 Hertz. I dont want to fry my laptop. Anybody know about external modems for dial-up as newer laptops are not compatable wioth dial-up just hi-speed.Any info on Tashkent Consulate, as on V.J. there is only older info not recent. How are they on ir-1 / cr-1 visa processing and how long do they want to see a relationship b-4 marriage ? Any travel advisories about food / water over there. ? I've read about some people getting bad diareha over there. She is Ukrainian but had to live wioth her grandparents who moved there during war. Also I read something about tourists have to stay in hotels not private residences / apartments. is this true. ? also what does the consulate require for affidavit of support.? I know last years tax return and/or letter from employer, but do they also want past 3 or more months pay-stubs, as my employer pays me cash and I report everything at tax time.. Thanks everyone. !!!!!!

QUOTE (BaWa @ Aug 1 2009, 08:27 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hey all,

I don't know if there are still Belgian/US or Dutch/US couples reading these forums, but for those still out there, what were your experiences with international moving companies?
Companies that stick out for excellent service?

Thanks for all the tips.

--BaWa

Hi!

I have used and will again be using UPakWeShip/EuroUSA to ship to and from the Netherlands. I used them in the past to ship my things from Pennsylvania to the Netherlands and will again be using them in the near future to ship my things from the Netherlands back to PA.

On my way to the Netherlands I shipped about 100 cubic feet of household goods. Things got a little dirty and dusty and the boxes were a bit beat-up but all in all I had two wine glasses that were broken and that was it (and I packed them so I think I was a fault, bad packing job).

The customer service at the company is great, I talked to my agent many times on the phone with all sorts of questions.

Prices are comparative to other companies, looking at around $1000-2000 USD (to east coast US)depending on how much you do or don't want done (ie they pack for you, pick-up or drop off at the port, etc).

Hope this helps.

Europe & Eurasia (except the UK and Russia)Amsterdam Consulate Police Certificate
Hello all,

A question for any Dutch citizens that also lived outside the Netherlands.

I am aware that the A'dam Consulate obtains the Dutch police certificate for all K-1 visa interview participants.

Within the past 5 years my fiance (a Dutch citizen currently living in the Netherlands) has lived in St. Maarten and Suriname. Both of those were or are under the auspices of the Dutch government.

Has anyone had a similar situation and if so what was the protocol for the Dutch police certificate? Does the consulate get police clearance from the other countries/territories or must my fiance obtain them from each country directly?

As a tidbit of information, my fiance called the A'dam consulate and was told that the consulate will get the info from Suriname and St. Maarten. But I don't always trust calling places and asking things like that, you just never know who you are talking to and if you are getting the right information.

So any first-hand experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Dank u wel,
Jessica

Dada no mek mi start pon yu hwid di dark skin light skin kids :bonk:

I know I know its so hard to relay things in words but my point is a lot of people I be around have a light complexion so in my opinion they think light is all that. For instance my son I have no idea where he got it from but he thinks because he is light he is the finest thing walking. Umm no offense son your handsome but your not all that. Its like I try not to bruise his ego but at the same time I want him to know your skin color doesn’t make you attractive its your attitude and he always has something to say it irks the hell out of me. Now me I tend to like darker men especially lately but anyway I'm just saying some closed minded people might think cuz my baby is not light like the others she may not be as attractive but her features are so pretty she is as pretty as the next. Does that sound better?

And that's why the cycle of having problems in your relationship contunies, you have to accept your man/woman the way they are UNTIL they are ready to change. No pressure is the best way.

No re-read what I said. I said in my last relationship I thought I could change him but I found out the hard way it doesn’t work. So going forward I know either I can deal with it or I can’t but I cant go into it thinking I’m wonder woman. I think the more you want someone to change the more the rebel. I’m having no problems in my current relationship shoot I’m problem free because I have no relationship at the present time.

Oh and just a secret ALL my kids yuh hear me ALL my kids are beautiful but its something about my dark skinned child that is amazing. She is truly and I mean truly beautiful it’s a stunning beauty. She makes me so proud because she shows that dark skinned kids/woman are just as beautiful as light.

Girl folks get gone when its time to assist, but I know you will get 'er done. What's for you will be...look out NC here comes Dada... :D

Dat’s what people keep telling me stop acting like I cant move a box. They tell me to pull up my big girls panties (which I already have on regardless) push back my sleeves and do it. I’m just not used to it the only thing my EX was good for was moving me. I asked him to help me but he told me to ask mi Jamaican man ta help. I told him he will as soon as he’s here. Kissteet Such a loser!!! You shouldn’t be helping me for me but for your kids you ahole. Lord knows you barely do anything for them anyways.

You can't restrict a man or woman from talking to the opposite sex because you're scared of what he or she might do. My hubby is no angel and I am prepared to find out he's upto bullish but I knew this before I marry him and if he doesn't see yet that he needs to change I have to live it but I won't tryy to change him. I hope your hubby tries to change on his own. Also, it's very hard to change something that you've beemn doing all your life and sometimes a lie in JA takes a long way than the truth.

I learned the hard way you can’t change a man he has to want to change. I tried so hard to change my ex and look where it got me no where so now I know going forward either I can deal with it or not but don’t expect them to change their ways. Of course if they do nice but don’t expect it….

It is weird my ex husband and I are both brown skinned but three of my children are light complexion and then my baby girl is chocolate. It’s the weirdest thing.

LOL, This sounds like my experience with my stepson, when I visited last month he stayed with his father and I for a few days. This little boy was SOOO unruly and rude that I was glad to come back to the USA! We where cooking dinner and he wanted to eat snacks so I said that he should wait a few mins until I could prepare him a plate. He was not having it. He went to the freezer and got out the ice cream bar and his father told him to but it back. So my hubby went to the store and the little terror let me have it.. He began to scream and shout for all of 20 mins. then I packed him up the stairs to the bedroom and did the stone cold fool :o he started to spit in the bed and took ALL of the linens off the bed when he saw that I wasn't having it he started in on me, he tried to hit me, kick me, bite me and the all time worst spit on me. #######??? His father arrived back but the boy could not see him so I told my hubby to walk up and look at what he was doing this 4yr old was throwing my clothes out of my bag. That was It!!! I was time for one of us to get a break, So after dinner we took him back to his mother. On the car ride home he ask "Do mi have to go down by mi mothers yard? I replied, YES SIR You do!!! My hubby said that when he goes to visit him on Friday the boy always ask is he coming back to Runaway Bay by my yard... He doesn't know that his father leased the place together but I am in the States THANK GOD...

Wait that monster spit on you and he lived to talk about it?? Wow… So did your hubby spank him??
