Africa: Sub-Saharan	Adjustment phase	Your very right, idocare! I agree that it takes two people to make a marriage work and if both are not working at it.....downhill it goes. It's a union, a oneness and bond between two people that takes alot of work. And for those of us that have our spouses in another country, it's overtime work, double duty! I somehow still think that the most challenging part will come once all the fresh excitement is over from the immigration process and homecoming is done. We are just so ready to be together like a normal husband and wife should be, this distance is a bad boy! Once my husband gets to come home, we know there will be things along the way that will require more understanding, more patience, more working on, and we are very focused and ready. It wasn't always easy and still isn't by no means......but, our love, commitment to God and eachother, trust, much understanding (wow! it takes alot), and good communication has proven to be a good foundation in our marriage and in preparing us for whats ahead. Onwa, i'm in a similar boat as you, where i live there is no African stores or restaurants. The closest city is about 45 minutes to 1 hour away, so i'm sure hubby and i will be travelling there to get some of the food he likes sometimes. I don't know how to cook African food, (yet) but i like some of the local dishes.......i'm just a picky eater, so it's going to be an adventure! Any problems with face to face communicating, food, major differences, job issues etc...... God willing soon my husband will be coming home and we get along so wonderfully, communication is good, and everything is so right, we have no complaints. But it would be nice to hear from those who actually have their spouses here to share some of what the adjustment has honestly been like. K-3 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	I-129F for my spouse	Thanks for the info/advise so far... i keep going back and forth with whether to pursue the I-129F or just let things go along with the I-130... I just dont want to wait any longer than is absolutely necessary, but i'm kind of getting the idea that a lot of people haven't really had that much faster processing with the I-129F when it comes down to it? K-3 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	I-129F for my spouse	ok...so I sent in the I-130 Petition for Alien Relative for my husband on May 14, 2008. They recieved the packet and i got the NOA1 (I-797 C) On May 23, 2008. I'm now thinking of filing the I-129F for my husband so that maybe he could be able to be here with meeeee sooner!! I just want to make sure i'm doing everything all right and so i had some (probably redundant) questions i thought i'd post: 1.) Do i have to pay again? I'm pretty sure from what i've seen that i dont... but again, i want to make sure so there are no delays! (I payed already the $355 required with the I-130.) 2.) Will going this I-129F route make things more complicated later on, with adjusting his status from non-immigrant to immigrant, etc? Though i suppose - whether complicated or not i'm still gonna try it if it means he can be here sooner cause i need my hubby!!!!! ....but i guess i'd just like to prepare myself for anything that would be different... 3.) In the instructions for the I-129F it says that for a SPOUSE you only need to submit the "documents required in Items 1, 2, and 4 of the instructions, but may omit the documents required in Item 3." HOWEVER i dont see exactly where it says "ITEM" in the instructions, though it does say "STEP" and assuming that is what they mean i guess that "ITEM 3" (STEP 3) is just the proof of my US Citizenship, so ummm is that what they are saying i can omit? Which leads me to my final question of the moment: 4.) Do i need to send all of the supporting evidence that i did with the I-130? (such as emails, photos, affidavits from friends and family) I dont think it says that is required on the instructions, but i think i saw somewhere that it is suggested to send the exact same packet i sent for the I-130 and then just including the NOA1 and Form I-129F this time.... anyone who has already done this - what have you sent in? National Visa Center (Dept of State)	Choice of Agent Emailing...	It depends on whether or not you case has been invoiced. Did you receive the email with DS3032 and AoS invoice? I received 2 responses. The first was telling me they received it, then later I got the email saying it was accepted and this included the IV invoice yesterday. See my sig for my experience. Yeas i already paid for the AOS fee just waiting to hear back via Email its been about 8 days. I also called the NVC and they said it was ok to send in the DS-2030 Ahead of time before paying only thing im waiting for is email reply about the choice of agent i emailed them and to pay my last fee then im done with them. Now i have a couple of questions and some clarity. Please help..........   1) Should i wait for Lagos embassy to contact me and how long? or Do i email them immediately with our case number?   2) As for the documents that my Fiance (Petitioner) has to send to me (i.e Affidavit, tax etc), should they be sealed or open envelopes for interview.   3) Please i would reaaly appreciate a comprehensive list of documents to be sent by Fiance ( Petitioner)   4) Does anyone have a sample of the DS-160 form for k1 visa application   5) How and where to get the right police report in Lagos   Thanks all in advance!!!
