Hi Mina,

Love both your ideas. The one about the spa (I hear Hershey Hotel has a very nice one), and also the one about meeting up in Turkey. I think this would be great if we were able to pull it off. Keep those good ideas coming!!! Oh, and I am so happy for you that you only have 5 more days before your love is back in your arms!!

Deb,

Good luck tomorrow. I will keep you in my prayers. A very good friend of mine had the surgery over a year ago. She has lost a lot of weight.

awaterlily,

Thank you so much for making this thread back on the first page.

Hope everyone had a great weekend.

Take Care,

Hi awaterlily and Everyone!! Yilmaz and I are still waiting on our I-601 waiver. It has only been 1 month, so I am sure we have much longer before any news.

Since I work for a school district in the transportation department, things have picked up with the start of school. Having beautiful weather in PA. Today was very hot, but there was a breeze that was nice if you were standing or laying in the shade.

I now summer is winding down, but is anyone planning any trips? Anyone going to Turkey in the near future?

Hi Everyone,

I haven't written in awhile. Going through some stuff. But anyway, I just want to thank everyone again for all their good wishes and support.

As you can see by my signature, the outcome of the interview was not a good one. We now have to go through the waiver process. I know this is going to be a long road and much more separation time!!!

Thanks again and I hope all is well with everyone and their loved ones. Take Care.

Thank you Debbie. I quickly checked the sites out ( I am at work). I can' t wait to throughly read through them. Hope everyone is enjoying their summer so far.

I am getting a little nervous as Yilmaz's interview is Monday. He seems to be calm (God Bless him). I guess I am nervous enough for the both of us. I have to remember what he said to me, "Think only good thoughts." (and a lot of prayers)

Take Care everyone.

Oh Mina, you are so funny. Tell Coskun to pamper you once in awhile. We (us women/wives) deserve a little TLC every now and then.

I do know what you mean about the massages too. Yilmaz loves his back rubbed. But after I rub his back for awhile, I tell him it is my turn (funny how it seems to never last as long as his does). Oh well, I guess I have my "training" cut out for me. (ha, ha)

Talk to you later,

Thank you Katie, Kaan, and Deb and Resul,

I was laughing out loud when I read your posts also. I have experienced the same things. I do, however, find these "idiosyncrasies" endearing!! (As I am sure you do too, Katie and Deb).

I know what you mean about the tea. It is a good thing I love tea!! At least I don't put the amount of sugar in mine as Yilmaz does. (and for such a little glass).

I tend to get very hot, and if I don't wear a jacket or bundle up, Yilmaz is always telling me I am going to catch a cold.

Ah, our Turkish counterparts, they make life worth living!!!!

Have a good day everyone!!

Hi NY_Izmir,

Funny you should say that. I didn't think I was getting the right information from Yilmaz. The interview is actually July 16 and not June 16. I thought he meant this month when he orginally told me. So when I was talking to him a little while ago, I said "Your interview is on a Saturday", and he said "No, a Monday". Then he said it is July 16, not June 16.

Thanks for the good wishes. Hope all is well with you. How is your wife adjusting to life here in the U.S. or has she been here before?

I am so glad that Coskun finally got the job he wanted. I know they say patience is a virtue (which I tend to lack a lot of at times).

Thank you for your prayers and good wishes for a successful interview. I hope that one day we will all be able to meet somewhere and share our experiences in person.

Merhaba Debra and Mina,

Tesekkurler for writing!!

Debra, Happy Anniversary! Tebrikler!!!!

I know all about the bread thing. I was so happy when I first went to Turkey and saw that they love bread and eat it with every meal. I was in Heaven as I love bread!! However, I know what you mean, Yilmaz can eat a whole loaf at one meal and not gain weight, me on the other hand.....

Oh, by the way, we got our interview date. June 16 at 9:45 am in Ankara. God Willing, everything will turn out okay!!

Mina, I will let you know what kind of job seeking experience Yilmaz has when he arrives in the U.S. I know he is hoping for something in the construction business, as that is what he did in Turkey. He did do this sort of work when he was in the U.S. several years back. Hopefully, he will still have some of his contacts.

Best Wishes to All!!!

National Visa Center (Dept of State)NVC answered, no busy signal
If anyone has been tying to get ahold of NVC, and has been only getting the busy signal. Try calling tonight. I got ahold of them with very little wait twice. The first time I called to see if my KI package has been sent to the embassy, and was so thrilled to hear that it has been sent out.... that I forgot to ask for the new case number. hahaha. Anyway I called back a second time... and didnt wait at all. So give it a try, good luck. Maybe there not busy tonight.

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresApproved "Request to Expedite" I-129F (Spouse)

DC Sparrow,

Your post is a bit confusing. You ask about expediting I-129f approval, but your I-129f is already approved.

You need to specify the consultant you are using if you want to find out what to expect from them.

Yodrak

Hello All -
Has anyone out there gotten their I-129F approved through a Request to Expedite? We have received approval just this Monday, January 15, 2007, and are wondering what to expect from NVC / Consultant in Delhi with the expediting process. Thank you for your kind responses. - D.D. & Vinod

Yodrak - Thanks for pointing out the confusion. I'm asking if others have gone through the Expedite processing and how that is handled once approved. I'm not asking about how to obtain Expediting, we've already sent the request two weeks ago and are seeing the results of the expediting this week. We just wonder how the expediting affects the rest of the processing through NVC and the Consulate.

I hope this helps clarify. Our K-3 visa request will be going through a Consulate Office in India.

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresEAD from Local USCIS Office during AOS Interview?
We found out this morning my husband's name check is still Pending at INS and our AOS Interview is in only two weeks (9/20) at Phila. Does anyone know if for whatever reason the I-485 is approved pending the Name Check clearance, if we can request an EAD to be issued that day in light of the Name Check delay? We did not apply for an EAD initially because we saw a trend that the AOS approvals were so close in dates to EADs being issued, we felt an EAD was not necessary. Any insight is much appreciated. Thanks. - ClbnVk

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresCover letter for I-29f
QUOTE (lincoln81 @ Sep 10 2007, 11:01 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
How important is a signed and dated cover letter for the I-29f. My husband sent me a package with all the requirements needed for this and all I needed to do was sign my forms. He forgot the cover letter though and it would be another two weeks to wait for him to send that to me. Just want to know if the cover letter is completely necessary that I should wait for one or if I can send the package otherwise. Thanks.

I guess that question can best be answered by asking youself if you'd rather have your package put aside in a pile of applications that DON'T have a cover letter and has a greater chance of being misplaced or mixed up with other packages............or if you'd rather take the time to write a one-page cover letter outlining the items in your package which makes it easier / faster for USCIS to process? Also, I don't understand why it takes two weeks to get you a cover letter with today's technology. Write the cover letter (which takes maybe 20 minutes?) and then ask your husband to scan it and email it to you (which takes a few minutes). Save yourself the time/cost of snail mail. Good luck.

I have to ask where I can see the touch or last updated date on the website?
It seems almost everyone has at least one touch date but the website
only tells me what the NOA1 told me as well as the cs number with the recording.
I sent I-129 on Aug 8, they signed Aug 9 and I received the 797 with Aug 14 date
and that is all the website tells me. Doe that me it has not been looked at yet?

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & Procedurespremium processing
Hello All;

I agree that premium processing should be the word of the day and should equate to working the job they are given, and 15 days should be more than enough time to review a file and make a decision, but I can see than most of you have a date that you can say the file was "touched" by USCIS, and I understand this is a VJ term and not one used by USCIS but I sent my I-130 in July and my I129f in August but still the website tells me only what the first NOA told me. Where would the date show to indicate it has even begun the processing journey? From what I can tell, they have received it and done nothing.
Starting to worry

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & Proceduresgovernment and money
What is it that everyone seems to be getting together that Vermont does not seem to even have in sight?
It cannot be money thats for sure. With any luck, the fact that K-3's seem to be taking longer than most others,
will mean that my wife's I-130 will go through about the same time as her K-3 and she will not have to adjust
status and of course, we will not have to pay the hefty fee for AOS. Waiting could turn out to be worth it.

I have been following the processing timelines shown for Vermont
as they have changed from May to April and then to March. Are they really
working? My petition date is August and I am wondering if I should be planning
another trip to visit my wife or if Vermont is actually going to do something
to process the petitions they receive, or if we need to ask if USCIS will
consider transferring the massive workload these people suffer, to
California who seems to be either performing or they have a light
workload. Any ideas?

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & Procedurestalking to someone live
With the new recording at the customer service number, it seems to be increasingly difficult to reach a live person
at USCIS. I am not outside the window yet, but I would like to verify that my documents have not been lost as I have
heard of before. My dates have not been updated since August on the K-3 petition, and the I-130 for my stepdaughter has not been touched since July even though the I-130 for my wife was touched on 10-5, a Sunday. I was not aware they were working Sundays. Still, Vermont seems to be desperately behind, and of course they do not feel the need to be courteous enough to at least give us some idea to believe that they will get any better any time soon. With the state of the economy and rising unemployment, should they be hiring or should the government be outsourcing? Seems like people on the west coast know how to get things done. In the good old days, especially in the private sector, when very busy, people were expected to buck up and handle the additional workload in the same time frame, but that was before we had recordings that explained away our shortcomings by saying, "we are soooooooooooooo busy". This leaves us as the people waiting in the doctors office while the doctor steps out the back door to go to lunch. I only need to wait long enough and he will be back.............................won't he?
Now that I have vented a bit, has anyone spoken to someone live and will share the secret with us?
Thanks for your patience

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresJuly and August Vermont filiers, anyone approved?
Apparently it is much easier for the powers that be, to approve of someone who has not made the promises inmarriage, but states only that they have the intention to me married when they arrive here. I guess it is not a money play, or they would not appove them together giving us the chance to forego AOS and of course the hefty fee, and making adustment to life here easier at the same time because work authorization is available right away. If we wait that long, what is a little more to make it easier and less expensive. I will plan on not hearing anything until at least February and go to vist her in January. This way I have only a few months to wait after we see each other again. I hope to be sent to CSC but of course, the proud people in Vermont probably cannot admit that they have more than they can handle. I wish we could all have some contact names to shake things up a bit. If not for us, for the ones who follow. I used to think that government was inept. Now I try not to think about it.

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresJuly and August Vermont filiers, anyone approved?
Thanks for your reply, and that is what I see in some places, others tell me 120 days, others 6 months
so I figured the only way to truly know is to ask who has been approved and when they filed. The graphs and charts
change almost daily up and down, and with Vermont months behind California, it would make sense for then to share the load, but I guess that is why that has not happened. Doing our best. Thanks.

Just want to see if we are even close. All the information seems to be mixed and most times conflicting.
Most times when you pay for something, it is not unreasonable to expect a certain level of service, like maybe
a date or a reason why other than "We are soooooooooo busy", but I guess this does not apply here. Thanks

Africa: Sub-SaharanAlittle Confused
Hello everyone, it's been awhile since i've posted. Things have been very tough to say the least.

We've finally recieved our interview date (all praise and thanks to God) and today our packet 4. I'm alittle confused as to what part of this packet my husband will take to get his medicals done, or if he has to take any part of it at all. I was hoping someone could chime in and help us with this, we're grateful for your help as always. I've read through this packet and nowhere that i could see does it say he will need to take anything to have the medical examination except his passport and passport size photos. Maybe he has to go to the embassy for a form or something? i'm not really sure.

We gladly appreciate your advice!

Thank you.
