Hi Ngant17: My name is Melvin I'm hispanic and my fiancee Patricia is from Colombia, what we did ever since we decided to get engaged and start this whole process was that she enrolled in school for english back in Colombia, it was not easy for her at first (she is 37) but in just about 8 months she learned a lot, I realize that this might not help you now, but you can try to have your fiancee enroll in esl classes for adults once she's here in the US, watch tv in english most of the time I know this helps because that is how I got started years ago, also you could try buying for both of you the "ingles sin barreras" (english without barriers) system, it is a little expensive but it is good.

Hi, I posted also in the Africa: Sub-Saharan forum and haven't gotten any answers and just wondering if anyone here can help us, My husband and i kindly thank you in advance.
We've finally recieved our interview date (all praise and thanks to God) and today our packet 4. I'm alittle confused as to what part of this packet my husband will take to get his medicals done, or if he has to take any part of it at all. I was hoping someone could chime in and help us with this, we're grateful for your help as always. I've read through this packet and nowhere that i could see does it say he will need to take anything to have the medical examination except his passport and passport size photos. Maybe he has to go to the embassy for a form or something? i'm not really sure.

Question about Moroccan Consulate CR-1 Interview

Hi everyone!

I have read many times that it is best for our loved ones to speak in English at the Moroccan Consluate Interview for IR-1/CR-1 visa.

My question is - what exactly is the reason this seems to be so important?

I was just wondering because my husband and i speak to one another mostly in french with some english, arabic and berber mixed in there as well so i was just questioning whether all of the talk about speaking ENGLISH during the interview is just because they might think less of the validity of the relationship if the spouse chooses to speak arabic?

Or

is there some other reason for it?

The actual interview is most probably a ways off for us at this point -- but its just something i kept reading about so i wanted to see what all of you knew or thought about this?

I know i've seen this subject addressed before but i thought i'd ask again -- hoping maybe someone has the link for the old post or can write it anew?

I'm starting to get anxious just waiiiiiiiiiiiiting

and i'm sure there are some things i can possibly be preparing in advance so that when the I-130 is approved (pleaseeee God make it happen sooon!

) I will have most of everything required already completed and ready to send it off for the 2nd length of time WAITING!

....................I'm really trying to stay hopeful and positive here

as i see that the date for VERMONT filers of I-130 is no longer JULY 30, 2007 and is now SEPTEMBER 3, 2007!

Thank you for the response! I know there are so many of us in this situation and i think it just becomes that much more unnerving to be so close to what appears the end of the long long process -- then to have a road block like this that is based more on what someone at the consulate "believes" is enough money and not based on the actual US governement requirements! I think that's the thing that *really* gets me frustrated is that we have done everything they asked, paid all the fees, sent all the forms, make enough money, blah blah blah sooooo why do they have the federal poverty guidelines if they will still delay the process even when you absolutely meet the requirements? This does not seem right to me! I don't even know anyone that currently makes 40k a year and we are all doing alright for ourselves even so you know? Hamdulah!
We live a simple life and we don't need or want a lot -- just to live it in the same country together in the same home incha ALLAH!!
I wish you luck as well with the search for a sponsor! Patience is key... i have definitely learned better how to be patient, just sometimes it gets overwhelming as i'm sure you know too

Hello everyone,
Well after 1 1/2 years of waiting my Husband finally had his interview at the Consulate in Casablanca MOROCCO.
Everything went surprisingly great! The interview was short and sweet and they returned all our original documents, There was just one problem --- they are saying (FALSELY) that i do not make enough to be his sponsor! I make above 125%of poverty guidelines for 2009. I just got this job and included a written statement from my employer with my sallary and several earnings receipts from my pay checks.

They say the problem is that i did not make this much in previous years (Ummm helloooo, i was a student! As i already had written to them!) and i dont have taxes that show my sallary --- i just got the job January of this year and each check has taxes taken out so like, isnt this proof enough??
Is this LEGAL for them to say i do not earn enough!? Is this right!?

WELL.... anyhow! I didnt understand why that happened but since they required a joint-sponsor my dad (who is retired) filled out the forms and my husband brought them back to the consulate. My dad makes well above the amount required but pays taxes only on a portion because some is from social security, etc. His taxes list his total amount earned as well as the total amount he pays taxes on.
Thought the problem would be over.... When he returned the papers they told my husband they would get back to him in 48 hours.... WELL over 100 hours or so later they finally call and tell him that even my dad doesnt make enough!?????????????????????????

WHAT IS GOING ON!???

Has anyone else been in a situation like this!? Do i seriously need to find a 3rd sponsor when i make more than enough and my dad who is happy to be joint sponsor ALSO makes more than enough!??

I am so frustrated! And hoping someone else has some advice?

Hi Everyone..my name is April and my fiance Raymond is from Holland..I will be filing our form next week. I was wondering if it would be safe to visit him after I receive the NOA2 in the mail..will they be sending me any other information, to my understanding the rest will mostly be on his end after I send him the the I-134 and the other documents to him...I just don't want any delays and I'm nervous about leaving the USA incase they need additional information...but I would like to visit him because this may take several months. Letter of Intent to Marry

Received Packet 3....7 days after Approval

Hi everyone...I could not believe when my fiance called today and told me he received packet 3...it's only been 7 days since we were approved online...I received the actual NOA2 in the mail on the 27th...approved online the 22nd...I tracked our package and it left NVC on the 17th and arrived at the Embassy on the 20th..I am not complaining, extremely happy, just don't understand where they come up with these dates...I will be leaving next Sunday for Europe to be with him for the next two months...Good Luck to everyone...April

Fiance Visa and possible H-1 Travel

Hello. I have a question and would very much appreciate some advice on this topic from those who may have had experience.

My fiance is a citizen of India. We've applied for a fiance visa, and are waiting.. and waiting..

I an a U.S. citizen.

She may be getting sent to Canada to work on an H-1 visa there. I am not sure of the duration yet. I am really looking for our options.

I'm concerned of her being in Canada possibly next year when the Fiance Visa interview is requested back in Mumbai India. Would this cause any issues? Would she need to return to India for that?

I really want to wait for the fiance visa to process, but what if while she is in Canada we decide that we very much want to tie the knot.. say out of impatience or family pressures and such. what then? Are there any complications that we may face with her working in Canada and coming across to the U.S. after that time?

Thanks for any advice. I'm partially aware of law around this, but not fully.. so it would be great to be set straight with what can and cannot happen.

I've listened!! Some of us do.. I was actually enthused to read that there was a timeline.. my mistake for missing or forgetting that this was out there. So.. posting here to make sure my timeline shows up on the side and I don't have to enable anything in my account.

YESTERDAY I received two things.. my notification of approval from the VSC for my I-129F.. as well as a notification from the NVC that they have my petition and will send it to Mumbai in 1 week! I'm so happy.. In looking at the processing times for I-129F for Vermont it seemed that I wouldn't be even looked at until later in the year.. YES!!!

Thanks to all unsung heros out there who unknowingly helped me fill out the documents by finding answers in these forums! Mine went through without 1 RFE thank goodness!!!!!!!!
