I just received the notification hard copy, my case was transferred to California Service Center, not to a local office as it says on the website.

Waiting is still frustrating. Was hoping to go on a Caribbean cruise before the holidays (we are retired), but I'm reluctant to travel with expired greencard. I know the NAO1 will get you back into the USA, but airlines and other country's immigration depatments are confused about the NOA1 letter serving as an extension.

Hoping for quick resolution. Think I may try the Congressman's office again. Good luck to all!

FYI my daughter travelled to France with her expired GC + NOA1, no issues whatsoever!! Enjoy your cruise and who knows you will have a nice surprise in your mail box when you come back home ;)

Good evening everybody,

Do you know if for travel purposes we need to have the original NOA or if a notarized copy is enough?

Thanks in advance smile.png

Finally! Thank you to all my VJ friends who were supportive of me during this difficult wait, Channah, Michele, Dumb/Dumber, Charlize, Tacia, and so, so, many more of you who expressed your kind words of support and your prayers for us during these past ten months.

Now, hopefully the rest of the process goes smoothly and QUICKLY!

Hey I thought I was the one to whom it took longer
I really hope it will go quickly from now on.

Girl your panic is contagious :D I finally read all the messages, and I agree with Penguin. You got nothing to worry about, just bring yourself, your passport and the PDF. You are ready for your Visa, I guess you've been ready from the very begining, and now that you are reaching the end of the visa journey, you're kinda looking for a missing something, and that's normal, it's called panic. Relax, you're there. Just think about the upcoming great reunion day

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresPLEASE, PLEASE soebody help! interview on Friday, no documents!

I am really not understanding any of this.

We sent what they asked for. Which was ORIGINALS and COPIES. They asked for an original and a copy. So bar the passport, which I needed, we did just that. An original and a photocopy of everything.

Is it really the case that nobody else sent them what they asked for?

On the interview reviews I see swarthes of people saying they asked for passport, birth cert etc.

I only have, for example, my original short form birth certificate.

I SENT them the long form, whch was an official record from the records office. Is it honestly the case that some people do not send them this, even though they ask for it, even though you can get extra certified copies?

I mean some people are saying they asked for the police cert. I don't understand why you would not send this at NVC stage. I did. We sent everything at NVC stage, unfortunately my husband did not get copies to keep for ourselves and I really honestly thought we would not need this.

Why do I need to get back the originals that we sent on to NVC? Why delay the interview?

I'm really confused because we really did do EXACTLY what they asked, though I'm not happy about what he says he sent in for the proof of income.

Hi there,

You don't need to bring the originals as they already have them, but you need to bring a copy of the packets your husband sent to NVC, ask him to email you whatever he has. As per the medical exam, I advice you to contact a doctor and tell him it is an emergency, your interview is Friday, they are used to this kind of emergency.

Good luck

Hey guys

OK.....I have a question that maybe no one really knows but I'll throw it out there.....Gary just called Knights bridge and they said that he PASSED his medical and they are forwarding it to consulate. Gary then called consulate and they told him once they receive the medical he will , " be taken out ofadministrative processing and contacted again". At his interview his officer said he realized the urgency of his case and would reunite him with his family as soon as possible. Am I grasping at straws here or do you think he is done? Why will they be contacting him again? What does it mean when they say they are going to take you out of administrative processing? From what I've read that is a good thing? UGGH..... I"m certain I have irritable bowel syndrome from all this.....Posted ImagePosted Image

Hey Guys.....thank you for the very kind posts. Gary had his medical today and is now on the bus back to his moms. He had to have another shot and x-ray and the nurses at Knightsbridge said from THEIR point of view...all LOOKS FINE!!! Posted Image X-ray looked just fine according to the Tech. Gary called consulate and they said if he does NOT hear anything by Friday, that means the medical was fine and we should be on our way....VERY scared to get hopes up but...I AM GETTING EXCITED. I am going to throw the biggest party when this is over and invite every single one of our Visa Journey friends....I swear it feels like we are all war buddies. PEACE AND LOVE EVERYONE!!! NVC has completed the review of this case. However, our review of the

and supporting documents that you have submitted indicates that there is
still some missing documentation.

Haha, sorry for leaving you in Canada :P I'm doing good! It's nice to finally be back in the USA! Got my green card last week, just waiting on my SSN now which I had to apply for in person on Friday.

And the email you got means CC! Most people get the SIF first. Are you checking on the right site? https://ceac.state.g...ice/signon.aspx If you don't get SIF, it's not a big deal. The CC email is what counts ;) Plus, the AVR should update to reflect a CC as well.

Either in a few days or a few weeks, you'll find out your interview date. Good luck!

Saylin, sorry I didn't reply to your msg, I called NVC but too much waiting time to have an operator, it costs a lot to call with my French cell, Hubby is busy today, he should be home soon, we will then call NVC

I just want this to be over with. October (the month I plan to move) is so far away, yet I know it will come fast with all the things I have to do take care of before leaving, including our son's American Consular Report of Birth Abroad papers, that we still have yet to do (long story as to why it hasn't been done yet).

I wish everyone the best, it has definitely been a journey!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresCalifornia to Texas & Texas to California - Part 2

Hey all......

We are still here and alive. The continued separation from Gary is unbearable but I believe we should be almost done. I do have a question if anyone knows. What is holding us up it seems is the medical. Gary had a shadow on his lung because when he went for his first medical he had a terrible chest cold. he had his interview, consulate officer was EXTREMELY nice, asked him a few questions, noticed we had been expedited from USCIS stage and offered sympathy when he heard we were in the California Texas mess. Here is my question and I am guessing everything is OK. The officer told Gary that he understands the urgency to get his family reunited but Gary has to take another medical. it's scheduled for June 8th? Gary asked the officer if this means he is approved and the officer said...with a smile...we will reunite you and your family as soon as possible and they kept Gary's passport. Gary called consulate call center and in their records it shows they are waiting on approved medical and then they are processing to completion, any opinions on this situation?it seems pretty straight forward but after Texas we are very gun shy and scared. ok..PLEASE pray , I am so tired emotionally and so is Gary....I"ve been reading here but not posting because I've been feeling so down at times. CONGRATS to EVERYONE who has been reunited with their loved ones. Never take for granted on SECOND you get to spend with your spouse , when you can just reach out to them and give them a hug, or just sit with them in person, sleep with them and the beauty of waking up with them by your side. Peace and love to all of you!!!

Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image
I was convinced you guys were done with this mess Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image

I hope Gary will have the medical clearance complete this week.

I'm right now in NYC for a few days with my hubby, I'll be back in Paris Thur. We are still waiting for CC. I see exactly what you mean by "after Texas we are very gun shy and scared"
There's no day that I'm not scared of their review feedback...We got to a point where we almost regret not having continued on the K1...we really thought it would be much easier with a spouse visa... Celldoc says " C'est la vie" I say " C'est NVC"...

Good luck Val, all my prayers are for us the leftoversPosted Image

I don't post much, but been following all of your SIFs, CCs, interviews,POEs, stupid REFs....

I am so excited, nervous, anxious...., you name it, am feeling it !!

Congrats Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image

It's so true, this thread belong to us, the TSC refugees. By watching other threads, I can easily realize that only us TSC and CSC knew what was going on. And now it's like nothing happen...they only stole 1 year out of our lives.

A few of us are still in the NVC limbo, but now we are reaching the end of this USC spouse visa procedure (so glad my hubby is USC and not PR, I wonder how worse the procedures are).

Good luck to all the upcoming interviews Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image

Wife and son finally made it home Thursday evening. Flight landed at 8:30 PM but she did not clear Immigration until midnight. The first two agent she dealt with in immigration were a$holes, she was pi$ed at them. Both were Filipino and they were talking ####### about her in Tagalog, they had no idea that she understands Tagalog, she learned quite a bit when she stayed with me in the Philippines when I worked there.

Long story short, she approached another Immigration Officer and he was very accommodating. When she was leaving the immigration office at LAX, she made a comment to the two Filipino Immigration Officers in Tagalog, they were horrified she could speak Tagalog. Wished I could have seen their faces!! My wife don't take sh!t from anyone, makes me proud!!

Good luck to rest of you!!

We should receive her 10 year Green card soon as well as her Social Security card.

Can anyone please tell me after I scan all my documents how do I make them into 1 file? I don't have adobe so I don't know how to do this? Or even though I opted for electronic processing can I express mail my packages instead?

If you select all the docs from the source file, then you print them into a pdf format, you can have them in a single file.

Good luck

Thank for the prompt reply. Yes, I was one of the 36,000.

My wife's file has been completed at NVC and interview has been scheduled on 06/28/2011 at Bombay office. My wife's file was completed on 04/07/2011 but the interview date is after more than two months.

Does anyone know how to expedite at the local consulate?

Thanks,

There is someone who got his interview rescheduled by calling the Embassy, and if I'm not wrong it was Mumbay.
