US Citizenship General Discussion	N-400 April 2014 Filers	Good Afternoon To all .. I went to a lawyers office this morning and look over all the COE & COD I got good news and bad news but my new lawyer had told me to give her a week to investigate everything. OK first thing she will look into if I m already a us citizen by birth since my mother was a us citizen when coming to the usa we came here as IR2 category.after she will dig more information about the past crime . She said chances are I'm already a citizen. If I'm a citizen we will withdraw the n400. If I'm not a citizen we will go to my second interview and she will accommodate me and show that I have good moral character. I have 5 character letters from people I've help including church that I attend. Other the. That I just have to wait 1 weeks to have all the questions that I been waiting for. I hope for the best . US Citizenship General Discussion	N-400 April 2014 Filers	Hi guys.... Just had my interview this morning at the San Francisco office. First of all, IO was so harsh and rude...she had questions that weren't asked in the application...it was so bad...i wanted to press a reset button and start all over again...but she was just straight up tough and raising her voice. She asked for my marriage certificate from last december...i said it wasn't stated in the application. Only the divorce documents were needed from previous marriage. And then i added that if it was needed why didnt i get a letter in the mail that i need to bring it. Another question was. WHERE DID YOU GET MARRIED LAST DECEMBER? so I answered manila,philippines. She repeated the question and raised her voice...i gave her the same answer. Then she said," what I meant is, was it in a church, club or park?. I said church. But in my head, are you freaking kidding me??!?! I passed the test...she only asked me 6 questions. I could only recall the number of senators, the sea by the east coast, what borders Canada , age for selective service and the first 10 amendments.then the read and write. She checked 2 boxes on my N652 1. I passed the test of english and us history. 2. USCIS will send you a written decision about your application Wow! Sorry about your bad experience. US Citizenship General Discussion	N-400 April 2014 Filers	hey new yorkers so i wasn't expecting anything in the mail since no sms or emails today. but i received yellow letter clearly stating 'this is not an interview notice' and requesting below  marriage certificate  all passports  driver's license   hmm is this normal or they just put my file in line for interview, i was supposed to be in line since 6/27. omg they haven't done anything since or actually omg i might receive interview soon??? Normal procedure. They just giving you information. I got my yellow letter a long time ago and still no interview notice. It's day 92 and I was told that my file is still in Nebraska. US Citizenship General Discussion	N-400 April 2014 Filers	@gteatk still nothing yet on my side, just 9 days less 90 days so I'm hoping to see some movements soon. @Kcoyclay let's hear the good news. Congrats to all who had their interview and good luck to all of us still waiting. No good news. Call them today and was told that my records is still at Nebraska. 90 days was yesterday. Got a case number and was told it could take them up to 30 days to respond. Customer service rep said the 90 days is just a guideline that tells the approximate time and that many persons are filing for different reasons. Told him that I personally know of someone in NY who has the same in line for scheduling date as I have and has gotten an interview date. He said the case he created will prompt them to search for my file and work on it if there's nothing holding it back like FBI investigation. Told him I'm clean as a whistle and inform him that the last time I got a reference number for my teenage son's case, it took 5 months for him to get approval while others were bring approved in 90 days. I guess they get pissed when we question why they haven't met the deadline. I hope I won't be pulled and stuffed to the back of the line or labeled December 2014 filer. Lol. Let's see if this week will yield good news. Will let you know as soon as something happens. As I said before, you may get a date before I do. US Citizenship General Discussion	N-400 April 2014 Filers	Hi everyone! I wanted to share my interview today that went really well. Got there 20 minutes earlier but they called me 20 minutes late for the time scheduled for my interview. Parking was terrible and my husband have to find quarters because we didn't expect the parking was on the side of the road. Applicants are waiting for people to pull out the road before they  can park. So I have to bring my little girl during my interview while my husband was away. Good thing she was sleeping The Immigration Officer was kinda serious and asked my passports (old and new), driver's license and greencard. On top of her table were all my bulk files and the N400 form which she went through all the details and questions one by one while checking it on her red pen. Good thing I reviewed my copy of the N400 form the night before my interview When she was all done she handed me the two forms to sign for it. For the civic test, she asked me only 6 questions since I answered all of them correctly. Next, she asked me to write and then read "Washington is on the dollar bill" Then she put back my all files in the bulk folder and gave me the Letter for the result of my interview and said "Congratulations you passed! You will need to go back here again though at the 1st Floor for the Oath Ceremony". She said they will mail me a notice for the schedule of the Oath Taking. Funny that as soon as I was done my little girl was up and the officer walked me out the door. The interview lasted for 20 minutes. US Citizenship General Discussion	N-400 April 2014 Filers	Guys,    I received a yellow letter in the mail from USCIS saying that I need to bring my state issued ID along with all my passports ( including the expired ones).This letter said that it was not an interview notice. my status online still says in line for interview!!! Atlanta office is super slow...Why did I get this yellow letter telling me to bring in my id and passport and I dont even know my interview date yet??? I got one too (a month ago). Now I'm 11 days away from my 90 day waiting period since being in line for interview and waiting to be scheduled. Look at the letter and you will see that it states that it is a pre-interview letter. It is in lieu of an RFE. US Citizenship General Discussion	N-400 April 2014 Filers	yea i hear you but you never know, people don't really receive letters in the order they sent their applications.      1-2 months 1-3 months oh god i don't want that to happen hope this won't happen. come on uscis you can not do it don't send anything till the end of this month I don't think that they would send out your appointment letter while you are away with an interview date within that same two weeks of being told that you are scheduled. Also, the letters are based on the local office and the priority date. Persons being interviewed at a local office in another state may have less processing time-frame but they never normally interview someone that is at a particular local office who has a later priority date before another who has an earlier priority date. US Citizenship General Discussion	N-400 April 2014 Filers	Hey peeps So I am praying (or should I) to not receive any interview dates any times soon coz I believe if I do it will be for around the end of August or early September when I will be out of country, vacation that is. When they reschedule do they give the next week or 2 months after, this is what I am afraid of No I can't change my dates of travel, I bought tickets almost 7 months ago and vacation dates are set with my office. Any experiences with rescheduling? New York is very slow. I sent my application in before you did and I'm still waiting on the interview letter. I think that you will be safe. US Citizenship General Discussion	N-400 April 2014 Filers	Updated krishna12 info and mine. Sharing-- Just took my oath taking at d court this morning which is very special to me. Checked-in at 9am and after the security and document checks (surrendered my GC & oath letter) the formal ceremony started at 9:45. There were 71 new citizens from 36 countries with our love ones at the back sitting by the audience. We recited Oath of allegiance together after the judge and followed by Pledge of allegiance. This point the judge declared we are now officially US Citizens! This highlighted the ceremony. Then it was followed by the congratulatory, welcoming speech from 10-11 spokespersons. This concluded the formal ceremony and we then called by the judge one by one in front to accept our certificate of naturalization, letter from our local politicians and US flag at the end (This is the chance to take photos). Got out and handed the social security form that we filled out before the ceremony to  the people on the booth outside the court room and filled out the voting registration.  Overall, it took me an hour and 45 minutes from the time I checked-in to the time I got out. I'm glad I'm done with the USCIS and its all over with Goodluck and congrats in advance to all April Filers.    P.S. US Citizenship General Discussion	N-400 April 2014 Filers	Hello everyone, i hope everyone its having a great end of weekend, let me start by saying that my interview was today at 10:00, it was a loooonnnnnngggg waiting time, i got to the USCIS office at 9:00am i didn't start my interview until 11:00. anyways everything was smooth and easy, the question were really easy and nothing crazy, i started by the civic test and the writing which i passed. then the officer starting asking all the question in the Application. after the interview was conducted, he congratulate me and gave me a paper that i passed the civic and writing test he asked me to step out and wait outside, after waiting 20 minutes another officer called my name hand me a form N-445 Notice of Naturalization Ceremony, they schedule my interview tomorrow July 25th. what a great Birthday Present Thank You USCIS, my birthday its tomorrow by the way.   Congratulations! You will receive a notice with a time and place for your interview. This must be such an emotional roller-coaster for you. One minute you feel great that everything is moving along and then another minute they are telling you you are not scheduled     . What a mess! I think you are scheduled. On July 16, 2014, your N400, APPLICATION FOR NATURALIZATION was scheduled for interview.   You will receive a notice with a time and place for your interview.  If you have not received the notice within 30 days of the date the notice is mailed, please call customer service at 1-800-375-5283 for further assistance. On July 21, 2014, your N400, APPLICATION FOR NATURALIZATION was placed in line for interview scheduling. When scheduling is complete, you will receive a notice with a time and place for your interview. It seems as if the system made a mistake and placed you in line. I see in another thread that you called and was told that they did not see an interview scheduled for you. US Citizenship General Discussion	N-400 April 2014 Filers	Time frame n400 Check Cashed date: 4/2/2014 NOA date: 4/7/2014 Fingerprints date: 5/30/2014 Interview Letter date: 6/4/2014 Interview date: 7/8/2014 decision can not be Made went to us congress office on 7/14/2014 to get help to speed up the process . And was told to wait couple of weeks Oath date: ??? Still no updated getting very anxious and flustered. I'm crossing my fingers to get an approval from the uscis . What's taking the supervisor so long to review my case? Any advice ? I personally know of someone who did not get an immediate response after taking the interview because the IO had to check on laws that were dated over a decade before the interview in order to make a decision. the individually finally got approved and did oath ceremony 6 months later. You had your interview on July 8th and went to congress six days later; just wait a while. If they are checking additional background information it may take a while. Hope you get your letter soon.  BTW did you post your interview experience? If not, can you please share? Have a great evening. Just an update for everyone - because we all fret over things and love information....   Applied for my US passport on Friday 6/27 (day after my oath ceremony).  I paid for the expedited service and it arrived Tuesday 7/15.  Naturalization certificate will come in a later mailing, but I have my passport.  Very excited.   Off to Social Security office today or tomorrow, then the DMV.     Congrats!!!     Hi,   I got my interview letter in the mail. US Citizenship General Discussion	N-400 April 2014 Filers	Good news kcoyclay1, hope you get the interview letter soon. I read on the USCIS website that the pre-interview letter replaces the RFE and allow the applicant to take the further evidence that's required to the interview in lieu of the case being held until the documents are requested through an RFE. Now based on my filing, there was no indication whatsoever on the document checklist that I needed to submit a copy of my drivers license/ state ID and my passports. In the five years that I've been a PR, I have only traveled out of the USA for 2 weeks. The USCIS website stated in the Document Checklist that those who spend 6 months and over since becoming a PR should send IRS document showing that they filed taxes in the US and rent/mortgage payment stubs.I do not fall into that category. US Citizenship General Discussion	Interview Passed!!	Went to Tampa Interview today. Got there early...waited. Called my number away I went. Reviewed my N400 - asked to read English...write a sentence (The Flag is red, white and blue) and my questions...   What year was the constitution written (I froze) What ocean is on the east coast of the US Name a state that borders Canada What started the Civil War What is freedom of religion When must all men register for the selective service What is the Capital of the United States   I Passed! So glad this is behind me and looking forward to what's ahead!!   Congrats! I passed mine today as well. Hope we get oath update soon.     I passed my interview today.Yay!   Interview experience:   My interview was scheduled at 26 Federal Plaza for 1:40pm. I got there about 12:40pm and waited until 1:00pm before going through the checkpoint and checking in. There were about 10 persons including 2 lawyers waiting for their interview. At 1:40pm a very pleasant ISO called my number and took me to her office for the interview. She asked me to raise my right hand and she swore me in. Afterward she gave me a piece of paper with three questions and asked me to read the first one - Who Can Vote? I read it and then she told me to write Citizens can vote. She then asked me the six questions below:   (1) What is the highest court in the United States? (2) How many amendments does the Constitution have?  (3) What is the name of the Vice President of the Untied States? (4) Why did the colonist fight the British? (5) Who makes federal laws? (6) What group of people were taken to America and sold as slaves?   After the questions she told me that I passed and asked if I wanted to change my name then went on to asked questions from my application and check off my answers and then she had me sign it. She noted that I was in college and as she put my application in order she asked me about my major which is same as hers was. She proceeded to talk about college and careers and she encouraged me to try for a job with immigration right after my oath ceremony. She was so pleasant. We had a great talk about counseling, degrees, our children and paying for college for about 50 minutes, inclusive of the interview, and then she gave me the paper that stated that I had passed and told me that I should get my oath letter soon; however, in the event of any delays it could take up to two months (protocol) but she was sure that everything would be fine as delays are out of the norm and she is just putting my file in order and then submit the approval.   So, I am just waiting for my oath ceremony update and hope that there will be no delays  .  Edited by kcoyclay1, 24 September 2014 - 03:14 PM.	kcoyclay1	Female	Jamaica	2014-09-24 15:14:00
