Hi, hey my husband was outside with you standing in line as well. Too bad I did not know you till now. Anyway, I was standing outside the whole time as well waiting for him. Did you see a beautiful lady with jeans and a hot pink jacket and long black hair and sexy brown eyes? Well that was me. hahah
No really I was outside the whole time till he came out at 12:00 pm and told me he had been approved. He was the tallest man there standing about 6 ft 1 so you may have seen him. Anyway I was to send you my blessings and a big hello from Zaio Morocco. It is great to be approved, Right?
I saw about 60 people or so standing outside and saw as each one of them made there way inside and then back outside as well. I may have seen you as I waited by that Cafe Delissimo for 5 hours straight. Anyway congrats again and hope you and your fiance have a wonderful life. Now my husband and I are making plans to go to the US. wohooooooooo

we just got the hard copy of NOA2 on Jun 10, i want to ask if i've to prepare any dcuments for the medical tests in Casablanca ? i want ask also how can i track my case at NVC, when can i call ?is this the right phone number to call NVC .603 334-0700. ? can i download forms DS 230 ? D- 156 , D-156 k and prepare them ahead ? these forms are not avaiable on the USCIS website.Hope to hear from you, thanks in advance.

You will need to check the Department of State for the forms USCIS is no longer part of the process (well for now wink.gif )
Instead of trying to get an operator at NVC (for K-1) you can not use the automated system, I sent them an e-mail. They replied that my case was on its way to Casa. It should pass through NVC pretty quickly and I wouldn't be suprised if your file was in Casa by the end of next week.

Good Luck!

thanks you for your answers , can you tell me what's the wbe site of Departement of states, so i can have a look at the forms, and where can i find the email address of the NVC ? Thanks much for your explanation and help.

The whole idea of adoption being haram in Islam is not tied to the act of adoption, but that adoption laws can go aganst the God given rights of the child. Just as Islam served to protect the rights of women, it also gave protection of the rights of children. One of these rights is that as a child, you have the right to know your parentage. American adoption laws for years ignored the right of the child over the right of the biological parent.

Well as far as I am concerned, I think the advantages of adoption far outweigh the negatives. Have you seen the swollen orphanages in Morocco and Algeria with kids brimming at the seams and 15 year old girls hooking because they dont have parents? Have you seen the tiny kids with no homes in the streets of casa sniffing glue and running all around un protected? Who is thinking about their rights? They need homes, not a permanent bed in an orphanage. All I know is my h usbands grandma took in all kinds of kids and raised and loved them. Again, I think its easier to wife kids under the rug.I strongly disagree with the prohibition on adoption

me too, I really agree with you on this wahrania.

There was no artificial insemination and ixy and surrogating being done back in the 600's when Islam came about. There are plenty of examples of slave girls bearing kids for barren women. Frankly, I think this whole surrogacy debate with this being haram and that being haram is a bunch of bunk. I think if you give a guy an option to have a baby and he is really in love with you, he will do his best to work things out with you. Babies are one thing. Love is another. Frankly I think some of these guys are coming up with BS excuses cause they want out of the marriage or relationship. If they marry you NOT being able to have kids, then having kids should NOT be an issue. Having kids IS NOT ENOUGH to keep a relationship together if someone wants out EVIDENCED by all the single parent families headed by women alone in MENA where the guy has taken off on his kids with his MENA wife and the women are tossed into poverty. From what I have seen, laws are just NOW being changed so women with a real marriage have some kind of protection.

I just get so aggravated when I see guys throwing up blocks against insemination etc. If he wants a baby and loves his American wife for real, he should do what they have to do to have a baby. I think alot of this resistance is because they dont want to stay with the American woman in the first place and want some stupid excuse to jet. This whole haram ####### in my opinion is bunk. I think religion gets used to justify decisions people wanna make anyway

you totaly right, stupid excuse to get rid of this innocent American woman. that's how ignorant ppl misuse Islam for their own benefits and act like messengers or prophets.

hi Friend,
sorry being late to answer i was not online for some time. As to your question about congressman , we didnt contact any senator or congressman, i dont see there's an urge to do so as long as you know your case is complet and without problems, Howevr you can inform your congressman via email and explain him that you may need his help in the next few days concerning your fiancé visa, but dont get him involved right now directly with the consulate i think it's not good caus the consulate may think ther's something suspicious with your case that you fear.
As to documents you need to provide to your fiancé, he should get a notarized 134 form affidavit of support , even if they dont realy ask for it but just in case.+3 last tax return + a letter from your employer stating your job and your annual income :see guide for that. you'll need also to send him another letter of intend stating that you still support the129F Visa for your fiancé and if possible also letter from your parents or relatives. Copy of NOA1 AND NOA2 , all original documents you submitted with your 129F.like divorce decrees , birth certifcate, proof of meeting in persons. Print some of your exchanged emails and chat logs , if ur fiance has saved them and can print them it's fine.
Good luck , evrything will be fine at the end:) .

hi Ahmed,
Congratulations, am happy u got ur interview date, My fiancee sent me the whole package via FEDEX, it's expensive but so secure and quick, i got it here in Morocco in 3 days , so u better ask your fiancee to send you via FEDEX.
Concerning the questions at interview , i think the post by AlhayatZween is so useful and also the link "Casablanca" he gave you, try to read it it contains useful informations too. about the ring i've questionned that too, and most ppl advised me to not wear it or at least put it on the right finger not the left one. it made me confused too and i hope those who went before through the interview can give more explanation for us. Good luck and let us updated.

dear mate,

i will just have the ring on ,if she would ask i can show her pics of ceremonies and its a common thing ppl do rings during engagements parties here i have some pics to show so i will just go for it ,if u dont wear it u never know what they may think ,,lol like are u hiding ur engagement and wanna be viewed as single it has happened with someone before ..keep in touch freind .

hi Ahmed,
most translators ask for 100 dirhames for each document , i did that before and in Fez it should be less expensive than in Rabat, . about the ring, remember to wear it on the right finger, not the left , right means engaged, left means married. am i wrong ? i live too close to you the next city to the east smile.gif.Good luck.

Middle East and North AfricaMoroccan Divorce
QUOTE (ME~n~HIM @ Jul 29 2008, 06:43 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Angela, it is not *that* difficult to get a divorce in Morocco. It just takes persistence. Your husband (& his wife) must go in front of the judge 3 times asking for a divorce. The first time they will send them away to "work on their marriage", the 2nd time, they will say "Are you sure?" (sort of), the 3 time, the divorce is usually granted. It would be helpful for the parents of each are present to support the decision.
It can be done and I don't believe there's much expense involved unless he still owes her a mahar (dowry). Then that must be paid. If there are children involved, then there must be a settlement for them too. Good luck. PM me if you have further questions.

hi there,
With the New Family Law, there is no need for the parents to be present. Women who have reached the legal age of adulthood are now recognized as free and independent citizens, no longer under submission to the guardianship of a male member of the family;
To get a divorce is easy nowadays, caus the the husband and the wife are equal in evrything,Under the new code both women and men can file for divorce for “irreconcilable differences” (chiqaq), without showing any proof (2). The courts are obliged to grant the divorce within six months, whereas under the old law divorces could drag on for 10-15 years as women struggled to prove they had been mistreated; they often ended up buying a divorce (kholaa), costing them all their funds and a loss of rights. Four years after its introduction, Morocco's family code has received a positive assessment from the justice ministry. At a conference held Monday (February 11th) in Rabat, Minister of Justice Abdelwahed Radi said the family code has brought with it a number of advances, ensuring that both men and women can enjoy their full rights and dignity.

"It maintains balance in the family," Radi said, "and encourages reconciliation rather than divorce."

According to ministry data, the number of marriages increased by 9% in 2007 compared with 2006, reaching 300,000, whilst the number of divorces decreased: 27,900 cases, giving a slight fall of 1.19%. Divorce by mutual consent, one of the new features to be found in the family law, accounted for nearly 30% of cases in 2007. This kind of divorce indicates the willingness to separate on good terms, which is greatly beneficial to families with children.

Changes made under the code have allowed more women to initiate divorce proceedings. As a result, there were 26,547 applications for divorce by women in 2007, compared with 14,181 lodged by men.

According to justice ministry official Ibrahim Lisser, "People have responded well to the introduction of the family law. The measures contained in the text have not been seen as an obstacle. The increased number of marriages proves this."

it is so easy to get a divorce , and in Morocco we do not know what is separation, there is either divorce or mariage, so i dont beleive in what ur man is saying, because if he doesnt fullfil his duty towards his wife she'll ask for her divorce and he'll be in big troubles and i dont see that is his case. a lot of ppl mask themselves under this NEW WORD "separated". He better look after his family, and if he wants you , he'can get his divorce and be with u and for you.Good luck.

The consulate has the right to extend the petition, so I would highly doubt that the NVC would stop processing.

I haven't done this process now for several years, but I have to admit that I am curious as to why the NVC has had the case for 4 months for a K-1. Shouldn't it have been forwarded to the consulate by now? Have you talked to them about it?

hi Morocco4 ,
thanks for ur answer , well it is not the nvc that is responsible for all this delay, it was the CSC because our package was never sent to NVC after the NOA2. but with the help of the congress representative we could make it move and finaly reach the NVC which gave us a new case number. thanks for your explanation and best luck to you too:).greetings.

hi everybody ,
It took us 93 to get our NVC new case number and just via phone, no hard copy yet from NVC. the validity of the NOA2 is 4 months ,we got it on 5th June, so it'll expire in few days right ? does the NVC take that into consideration before issuing a case number ? or i'll have problems again because of their delays. Hope to hear your advices. Thanks much.

They automatically renew your petition. I'm not sure if you can go to the medical appointment without the packet, but if you'd like I can ask my fiance to give me the number of the doctor he went to in Casa and you can call and ask them. Also, I don't think it matters if you type or handwrite, as long as they can read it, but make sure you fill out the correct version of each form, if you are downloading them from the internet.

hi, thank you for your answer, as you said i'll just wait for the packet , Thanks much and congratulations for you .

1- can i go and make the medical tests even before i didnt get the consulate package ?
2- Can i fill al the applications online and take them with me, i think typing is better that handwriting.
3- list of what i've as documents , i've police and court records + celibacy certificate + birth certificate . all translated . is that all they want ?. thanks much for any eplanation.Bel&Rach.

3.) They didn't ask us to see anything except the photographs--it seems like you have more than enough!
4.) I emailed the consulate regarding this issue as well, and they told me that it's correct that the police reports go through Rabat.6.) They did not allow me to go into the interview with him (I waited outside across the street). I have heard on this forum that they do sometimes call the fiance in, though.
That wasn't the case with us.

Good luck!!!

Middle East and North Africainterview experience in casa
hi Mena Members ;
i want post my interview expereince ;here i start ; wake up early i was in front of the consulate ta 7:30; stand in line , peaple who have tourist visa wer called first to enter, then later peaple for immigration like lottery k1&k3 .Once inside the consulate i paid for my visa then i took a seat among peaple after like 30 minutes i was called to take fingers print, the CO was a moroccan he talked to me in arabic then english; he asked me when, where we meet each other; what is my job ;her job; since when , how many times u meet in person, when ; then i was asked to take a seat and wait for the last interview; it took like half hour too, then i was called, the CO is American ; she asked me the same questions; my job her job when and where we meet, which program on net, when in real and when ; was she married before, has she any children ; that was all ; she was realy nice, and i've not noticed or heard any bad experience for all those peaple there who had their interview; then she asked me if i want to keep my passport or leave it at the consulate and of course i just left it there; then she gave me a white paper it saay this:This office regrets to inform you thaat it is unable to issue a visa to you because u have been found ineligible to receive a visa under the following section of the immigration and nationaly act;the information contained in the paragaphs marked with X pertain to your visa application...
then the X paragraph was :your case requires additional administratives processing; we require nothing further from you at this time we will contact you by telephone as soon as we are able to continue with your case.
i dont know what my X paragraph means ; but i've read through this Visajourney forums that it means that my case is without problems and ther is a high percentage to get my visa soon; right or no ? Am wishing the best luck for everybody who'll go through his interbiew soon; Good luck .

This is a great ? and thanks for asking it.

Now that we are preparing for hubby to come we are worried about every little detail.

First I did not pay for the ticket in cash like I usually do cuz thank GOD someone told us RED FLAG

Second we did purchase one way, which was JUST AS EXPENSIVE as roundtrip mad.gif just thinking well he is coming to STAY not leave and also we wouldnt know exactly when we would be going back to Morocco to visit.

ALSO, my husband is coming on CR1..he is going to LIVE here, should I be concerned about a one way ticket??

Everything is so screwed up with the process and even still getting the visa I dont find ANYTHING to be coming easy.

So I think one way is fine for CR1...what is your feeling??
I guess it would have been more practical to buy a roundtrip...then you have a ticket for later BUT those 2-3 hundred extra dollars still arent feasible right now for me....I am lucky he is able to come so soon as it is.

hi i've read this sentence in your post :First I did not pay for the ticket in cash like I usually do cuz thank GOD someone told us RED FLAG , can you explain me please what does it mean ? Thanks.

Middle East and North Africadocuments need for marriage
QUOTE (ginny20 @ Nov 24 2008, 08:10 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I would also get the first few pages of your passport translated. In Los Angeles county at least, you will need a certified translation of any non-English picture ID to get the marriage license and it has been a real pain to get it done here in the US. Much easier/cheaper in Morocco.

Thank you Ginny so much for your advice, so all i need is my birthcertificate and my passport and both translated into english right . thank you again.
