Yeah being prepared is one of the most important things. Just think going through all the work to get to the point of a interview and having to reschedule just cause your not prepared.

Middle East and North AfricaAny body know the stats?
rhouni You mean they caused a problem cause she didnt meet the 125% proverty level? Or she had used the assistance? Its all consfusing to me as long as your not on assistance should be the important part not how much you make. Just cause your of lower income dont mean your on assistance.

Middle East and North AfricaPossible Reason for Petition Return for Review
Kiya Dont give up just fight them you know their decision was wrong. You can always go there and marry apply for a K3 or CR-1 visa. Or maybe even a K1 again the spousal visas I would think they would have a harder time denying anyone on. Dont give up I hope your together soon and this mess is over with!

Middle East and North AfricaPossible Reason for Petition Return for Review
I dont know but maybe they have the impression your paying him to marry you. I dont know but its amazing how they can think of reasons to deny. Sorry hope you get this reversed and soon!

They are probably talking about a travel visa that you can apply for.

Congratulations on your interview!! But it cant take 45 days. Some others had a review and came back in a week later and it was done.
jenniehNot TellingMorocco2006-02-09 17:26:00
Middle East and North AfricaAR another question
You mentioned a lady did the interview? Which one was it so far there has only been a mention of the mean women and the nice american man. Would you mind telling us more about the interview please? Id like to hear about it besides your doing the same visa as me not many do CR-1 in Morocco anymore. I wouldnt worry to much AR seems to be a routine in Morocco mostly anymore.

Middle East and North Africainterview k1 visa
What the 221G is for adminstrative review right?? Im confused with that one and when they actually deny you. So if you are on adminstrative review they actually stamp that in your passport? Why? whats the point?

Middle East and North AfricaK1, K3, CR1???
Kiya Im glad to see your not giving up!! Just incase you cant get the Fiance visa dont mean you cant be together or there isnt other ways. I contacted two senators from where I live one didnt do much just called the National Visa Center and they told the same line I already knew. But the one right now is really trying to help they are now dealing with Morocco to find out what the hold up is. I wish you luck!! But dont let them get you down for some reason they seem to think Islams are the only people who would do harm on a visa so they have to be harder on them. It dont make sense we go through more at the interviews just cause of where they are from!
jenniehNot TellingMorocco2006-02-16 16:29:00
Middle East and North Africatranslation to english
Probably not since they have translators people can use at the interview. Id assume if they can speak French at the interviews they can also read it.

Middle East and North AfricaLife in the ME/NA for women
My husband is the only one out of his whole family who ever completed all their schooling. Only one of his sisters was allowed to go to school. She finished elementary school but the government denied her to contiune on. My husband feels since he was allowed to go all the way through school that now its his job to take care of everyone in his family. He is from a village in Morocco and it seems there atleast village people dont always marry for love his one sister was married to someone she barely knew. Only met a few times so that way it wasnt so hard for her family to take care of her. She only met with him a few times then they married it was like an exchange. My husbands own family suggested to him that he marry his cousin so that way he could take care of her. So most of his family doesnt really understand why he married me. But his family is nice they just dont seem to understand things about us. Its like marriages arent done out of love but cause you need someone to take care of you cook, clean, earn money and then after time they will learn to love eachother. My husband has told me if he doesnt wear traditional clothing when he goes to the village he is from or others dont your judged or discriminated against on it, and same thing if you dont go to the Mosque on Fridays.

mawelvan Make sure about going to Spain for the rentry time. Cause we were planning on doing this for me so I could stay over three months. But found out my husband wasnt allowed to go to Spain. To get married in Morocco we didnt have to go to Rabat but were told me did so we went there and wasted 10 hours on a buss. You dont have to go there but the consular tells you too. If you have any questions about getting married in Morocco let me know.

Well this is a bit of update, they didn't give Ali a 221g all they did was stamp refused on the back of his passport. Our lawyer is in the process of contacting people to find out why he was refused.
Just stamped refused? Hmmmm....I haven't heard that one before, so I am lost. Anyone else have that one? If it was refused, aren't they suppose to tell you why? That lady is really heartless! I am so sorry....I hope the best for you! You know, Morocco is beautiful, and my husband and I do plan on returning to live there after awhile. i want to tell you that what i found out about morocco is that it takes 6 months to establish residency there, also, i heard from another girl that after her moving there, she had to leave after 3 months, and they told her at the province, that she needed to contact the moroccan embassy here in the usa to ask for residency before she went there to live. just a thought, jean
I am so very sorry to read of your news. It is very hard to find words to express how I feel reading your news. I do hope you find out answers quickly and can resolve the problem before you move so YOU can decide where you want to live and to get on with your life. My prayers are with you.

Thats probably so about the residency I was in Morocco two days short of three months. And when I got back in JFK I was really hassled drilled in questions and had my luggage all searched by three people. I was originally planning to go from May until middle of September (out of college for that long) and they said I would need a visa so I didnt apply I think you need a good reason to be there for so long and have to pay for the visa.

I was woundering about this cause for CR-1 the NVC schedules interviews. So who will mail the inteview letter NVC or the consular? It would be nice to have a name for the cruel women interviewer there.

Middle East and North Africaaffidavit of support
I had the same problem I was in college and married in Morocco without knowning anything at all about the visa processes. I wasnt able to find a sponor who met the requirements so I waited until I graduated and started the process and met the guidelines on my own. But then I found out current job meeting the guidelines wont be enough to make Morocco happy so I did find a sponor finally. Your sponor can be anyone at all just have to be a US citizen or a permant resident that meets the guidelines. Since you just filed your petition it will be awhile before they actually ask for it. Dont worry about your family they will come around I still have this problem since only one of my family members has actually met my husband. Good luck with everything seems like your off to a good start so far and your asking questions!

Middle East and North Africashould my fiance be working in Morocco while we wait?
I believe it would only help him there personally. So maybe he can get some work experience to help with getting a job here. I kindf of worried about this with my husband he has work experience as a teacher for over ten years but he has never did anything else. And Im not sure he can get a job as a teacher here he has only went to school for it for two years. But this is his only job so how you make a resume out of one job? But the consular I dont think will care about his work history usually only the petitioner. I know work for me helps to stop thinking nonstop about the visa process.

Middle East and North AfricaNeed help from people from Morocco or the Middle East
I have an idea if you want not sure about it. Supporting Moroccan love is mostly all Moroccans involved or they married or dating them. Some have came here before if you have joined this you might find more there since this forum has some Moroccan people. Your chances might be higher my husband I would ask him! But he isnt here yet and hasnt been so I dont think he can help but to tell him about learning English will really help him alot for when he gets here.

Middle East and North AfricaCongressmen, Senators ...
Sometimes contacting them helps. One that I contacted Im suprised how helpful they are and how far they are going. I thought I would just hear from them once but they are calling the NVC many times a week and Morocco until they get help and answers. Im just suprised they actually care so much to help. It does help to call more then one cause I called others and they didnt even call back or do more then make a phone call that gave me the same information I already had.

Middle East and North AfricaCongressmen, Senators ...
I called two of them and one of them they are actually trying to help now they just havent been able to do much. They really seem to care and we keep contact daily but they just arent getting answers that were looking for but some guy named Matthew McKeever Consular Section Chief in Morocco replied to them very eager to help which kind of suprised me. I just want a interview and want to know why the case is still sitting there. I hope this just reminds them to do something and in the near future. It can really help your case but to think that it cant would be wrong I would think. They seem to get more information then we do all I get at the NVC is the operators that dont know anything. The have great service with great hours its just their operators dont know anything by the sounds of it!

I contacted a senators well two of them one did nothing really. And one is trying but not getting much they did contact Morocco and got some guy named Matthew a director I assume like a main manager. He was pretty nice to them but he couldnt tell them more cause the National Visa Center does the CR-1 scheduling. I guess contacting them makes them wake up and realize your case needs to be worked on.

I have been to Morocco twice but we never really went many places besides Rabat, Casabalanca, and Agadir. Mostly cause everytime I went my husband was still working. I wish I could go back and see him but I dont see how he can get time off and I cant get time off and I cant get the money to go. But Id SO love to go and be able to see my husband again. Middle East and North AfricaAnyone consider moving to Morocco
I have considered moving to Morocco. But I just graduated college and may so I just started making my student loan paysments back. So one of the main reasons for not moving there is this it would be impossible to ever pay off in Morocco even considering my husbands job is good there. I dont think I can handle not working and not being able to speak to anyone there. I do really want to learn to speak Arabic thats kind of my goal.

Middle East and North AfricaGood Luck to Mary and Atif

I agree with you jenn..
I dont understand it either honey. :(
that form that mary got was already pre- typed :(

Mary. i posted this on your 221 g page I will add this here..

mary i am sorry.
let me tell you this. hopefully, the USICS will interview YOU. I tell the ladies whos petitions get returned to save all proof of valid relationship. keep communicating with your spouse. I got interviewed by USICS so maybe you can look at my signature and see what kind of questions they asked me. although, my petition got kicked before it went to the embassy, the reasons in the minds of the embassy could be the same reasons why they kicked mine early on. so chin up. you will over come this. stay focus and save ,,save ,,save,,

Exactly the same with us...when my SO returned to the consulate with our engagement photos, that 221g stating our file was returned to the United States was ready and waiting for him...pre-typed and was already in the computer system when I called the State Department just 2 hours later. I don't understand what is going on in Casa. I pray Mary can get some real answers as to why...not just the canned response many of us received.

Kiya they had returned it with your engagement photos? What is it they have with your engagement that gets them?

All the best things shall turn out good

Apparently you are not very familiar with the consulate in Morocco. Doesn't matter lately how the best things are presented...not much turns out good. I really wish your statement was true with them, but reality is they do not care about real relationships no matter the proof presented...either they need extensive training or to be replaced altogether.

(F) ~Kiya~ (F)

I'm sorry...I am just very angry with what is going on at the consulate in Morocco. SOmeone needs to make them see what they are doing is wrong.

(F) ~Kiya~ (F)

What gets me is how they can deny a actual husband and wife for no reason at all and just return the petion. When all of the evidience is there? I know others get denied and im not saying that is right but when a family member is involved it deserves more attention to the matter. Id like to certainly know why all these denails are popping out of Morocco lately for no reason at all to people of all types of Visas they more then qualify? Whats wrong with these people? Were US citizens and we pay for them to do this to us! I think it says a bunch of something for our own government to do this to us!

And NOW i have to try to sleep seeing as I didn't sleep last night!

:crying: This is TERRIBLE. What is WRONG with these people?????? I am SO sorry Mary, I wish I could do something. Those people are lucky I'm not in Morocco right now because I would go over there and kick some butt

Oh...believe me, I am thinking the very same thing. They are playing with people's lives here with no regard to the guidelines let along the rights of the USC. I think someone posted that it is a "privalege" to immigrate our spouses/fiances to this country to be with us...WRONG, DEAD WRONG! It is our "legal right" to immigrate them...just getting past this consulate leaves MUCH to be desired in regards to the current system.

Sma'liyah, I am on fire all over again!

After reading about all of these denials in Morocco anymore. Im not sure Im that I need to be so worried about a interview date anymore. It seems like they deny close to everyone there applying lately even if you qualify. Its like do you even have a chance? Are they just looking to deny people?

I dont think you need the envelopes its probably up to you. Like us my husband and I were friends for over 3 yrs before we began to like eachother as more. When I went there I found out he has kept everything my family and I have all sent him so far, and they arent all date but he has the envelopes so its good cause our relations as friends and more date back in letters to 2000. It probably depends mostly on your visa type that you get that you need this for. Id assume K1 since they want you to meet and have proof of it.

Id say find your phone records somehow. I only have my cellular phone so I just call him that way before we mostly talked online couldnt afford to call so much. But now I call him once or twice a week. And I sent the phone bills that I have so when he does get the interview date finally he will have them.
