Jennie,

>>>And to correct you Ive seen everyone complain here all the time Im not the only one.

No, you never saw everyone in here complain all the time. I think the majority of the people in this forum have handled their wait stoically and with grace, including many who have had far longer waits than you.

WELL GUESS WHAT IM NOT EVERYONE ELSE AND YOUR NOT HERE TO JUDGE ME OR ANYONE ELSE! NOR DO I CARE TO LISTEN TO YOU!

**WHATEVER I NEVER SAID THAT I SAW PEOPLE COMPLAIN IN HERE ALL THE TIME.!!!!! GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT BEFORE YOU RUN YOUR MOUTH.
>>>>First of all why would a K1 person complain? All you have to wait is maybe 6 months or more.

I don't know Jennie, you made the claim in your own words
*** K1'S ONLY TAKE 90 DAYS TO APPROVE IF THAT SO IT DONT TAKE THAT LONG! NOT MY OWN WORDS A TRUE FACT READ THE PETITION!
>>>>>All these people complain its been 5-6 months or whatever since you seen your fiance last.

>>>And if your information I didnt chose this stupid visa route the I-130 was approved to fast!

Yes, you chose this route by getting married in Morocco thereby eliminating K1 as an option.
I DID NOT CHOOSE THIS READ! WHOEVER SAID HAVING THE I-130 APPROVED TO FAST HAD ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE DANG K1?? I WAS DOING K3 FOR YOUR BIGGED MOUTH INFORMATION! aND I DIDNT KNOW A K1 EXSISTED~

This process is frustrating for EVERYONE. However, again, we all had our choices. Take Shon for example: Shon has had a very difficult process and is in a very long wait, yet she is still able to put it all in perspective, recognizes the pros and cons of each visa, and is happy with her choice. "Priority" isn't time alone.

My point is look at how long a family member has to wait compared to a boyfriend or girlfriend. All these people complain its been 5-6 months or whatever since you seen your fiance last. If you had to wait as long as some of these married people what would you do?
Jennie,

Everyone made their own choice whether to marry abroad or go for the fiance visa. You ask what these other people would do if they had to wait as long as the married couples, and talk about others complaining about 5 or 6 months, but honestly, I don't remember anyone complaining quite as much as you have. I understand you are frustrated but this was YOUR choice on where and who to marry and what type of visa that would allow you to apply for. Yes, you are waiting longer in this part of the process but your husband will also have advantages that the K1 visa holders don't have. Again, it comes back to choice. We all chose what route to go. I am not complaining because my husband cannot work now. I am happy he is here with me. It was my decision to go this route as it was yours to take the one you chose.

There are more non-immigrant visa appointments because there are more non-immigrant visa applications. These include student, medical, tourist and K1.

Rebecca

Im not complaining I just dont think the processes are fair or the wait times. And to correct you Ive seen everyone complain here all the time Im not the only one. Since everyone seems to disagree with me Ill just leave this be since no one gives unless its about them.

Why are husband more important than a fiance (they are coming here to start a family)?
thats not a fair statement! in support of all of those that DO have husbands.
you do realize they are on alot of our accounts such as my husband is on my medical
and stuff. so that makes him very important - some of these husbands are also daddys of those
that are pregante or had a child. having said that there is alot that the k-1s have to go though such as the AOS and the gruling waits.
I didnt say a fiance wasnt important. But a family member already should have more importantce over them. The processes should be equal in length not twice as long or longer. The wait you guys wait to get your petition approved is how long we wait for just a dang interview date! Atleast you can do AOS and not have to do it all before you come. Its better to have AOS then you dont have to be apart longer. But since you all think im so cruel horrible person go attack this post now to. Come on rebecca your good at it!
so jenn,
did you get the interview date yet? what is the embassy saying?
No they dont give a damn!! All I was told is there is no order or anything dont go by petition date, or case complete date. Just whoever they feel like cause of their computer program!

Middle East and North AfricaInterviews

I did my research first and decided to only get engaged there, not married. Doing a fiancee visa shows a little more caution, and is very short-term. It is to spend time together first to see if you're sure you want to marry. If you spend a few months together, then decide you aren't right for each other, the K1 visa holder goes home and the marriage doesn't happen.

Many who marry overseas spend very little time together in person before marrying. Some are the exception of course, but not many. This raises a red flag of fraud that the embassy is going to be cautious about.

Also, the K1 is very short. Once you get here you either marry and then fill the marriage visa, or you leave. The CR1 is permanent. When you get off that plane you are a green card holder and can work immediately. It is quite easy for a man to convince a woman to marry him and file the marriage visa, then when he gets here he can abandon her pretty quickly. With the CR1, there is an interview after 2 years, but I know my ex had no problem getting his 10 year card even though we were divorced, so even that requirement isn't that difficult to overcome.

With a K1, you have to go through a lot before you get your hands on a green card, including months of sitting and not being able to work while you wait for them to process the application. Even then, you go through the same process as the CR1, you're just with your spouse for it, not apart.

To me, that is basically the difference between the two.

honeyblonde your right i see all your points. Most dont know eachother to well before marrying and K1 you get time for that. I just mean the time for married people or family is so much more then a K1 visa it takes forever to get the littlest t hing done for married people. I just dont think they should be the priority and all visas of this type take the same amount of time. Look at married people we get two whole hours a week for interviews. Do you know how long it takes for them to just find time for us? But nonimmigrant people get every day of the week. They dont give a ####### about married people or anyone just them and making all their damn money off us and who they can deny out of it!

Im saying everyone should be taken care of in a prority level. But a family member needs to be more of a priority then a fiance. Fiance is not your family your just planning to marry. I just dont think its fair that married people have to wait so long and Fiances can be here in 6 months or less usually. If you were married and had to do all of this waiting instead of the short wait for a K1 visa you would see it differently.

Cause they cant tell you no you cant get married but alot of people might just give up and not go back for another run around with them. I read that if you marry in the foreign country the process is suppose to take less time but if you marry in the USA it will actually take longer. I wounder of that is because of AOS?

The funniest thing is family should be more important then your boyfriend, girlfriend, or a travel visa. But instead they have interviews all day every day but for the weekend and Wednesdays. And here people married or any family fight over who will get those two hours a week!!
jenniehNot TellingMorocco2006-03-12 11:03:00

I just looked on Casa's website do you realize that petitions for spouses only get TWO HOURS a week in Morocco?

Petitions for Spouses TH 2 pm to 3 pm

But every day of the week besides Wednesdays they make time for nonimmigrant visas. And remember family is a priority.

If I understand correctly, the OP is the beneficiary, and the USC petitioner is the one they are saying has a police record.

Due to IMBRA regulations, he will definitely need to get this cleared up. I'm sorry I can't suggest how to go about this. Have you posted in the IMBRA or K1 forum?

Yes, i agree with Jenn.

Salaam Mounia,
So sorry to hear about this RFE. Your fiance will have to get an official copy of his police record from his local police department or courthouse (or the police record from the city where the crime was committed). If he didn't commit any crime, and it is a mistake, he still needs to address this. Like, Jenn said, maybe in the IMBRA forum someone can give you more detailed advice... or if you are using an immigration attorney he/she might be able to give you advice.

Don't worry, you will resolve this inchallah.

Good luck! rose.gif rose.gif rose.gif

although my fiance indicated on the I-129F form that he has never been convicted of the crimes outlined on it, a government search of his records came back that he has been.

Salaam all,
Happy Monday.

Can i just bump this to the top again, for any other takers?

Does anyone foresee it being a problem if I buy Habibi a one-way electronic ticket here in the US, and then just send him the confirmation number? Will the people at Casa airport give him an issue with that? He would be coming on a K1 visa, inchallah.

Thanks again! good.gif
hz

i think there is no problem to buy him an electronic ticket as long as it is for his name, u need just to give him the confirmation by email and he will have to print it and bring it with him to the aireport inshallah...that's all !!!
good luck rose.gif

Salaam all,
How is everybody?

Here is my question, and i know we've discussed this before.

Do i have to purchase a return ticket for Habibi for him to enter the States on a K1? Usually the difference in price for the one way and return is so minuscule it doesn't matter, but i just looked on RAM's website and the difference in price is about 4000 dirhams!! That's a lot of centimes especially since our dollars are worth a lot less these days...

So, can i just buy him a one way online, and he won't have any problems with it at the airport or anything? He'd be flying, inchallah, from Casa to JFK...

Thanks everybody! rose.gif rose.gif rose.gif

WHAT ????? 4000 DH ??? THATS TOO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I THINK U D BETTER BUY HIM A ONE WAY TICKET FROM INTERNET FROM CASA( CMN) TO NEW YORK( JFK) USINIG THIS WEBSITE : www.royalairmaroc.com I THINK ITS 6320 DH MAROC ONE WAY !!
GOOD LUCK rose.gif AND HUGS TO U star_smile.gif

Middle East and North AfricaNeed Advice on What to Expect from Casa Consulate
QUOTE (moroccousa @ Apr 25 2008, 06:16 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hi everyone,

I am looking for advice and info from those who have gone through the Casa Consulate. I hear its a killer, but I am keeping my fingers crossed that things will go smoothly for us. So, we are still at the very beginning stages of the process, and luckily I am still living here in Morocco, so we don't have to be apart yet (hamdulilah), but I have been looking at all the estimated wait times (VSC) and anticipate that we will get our NOA2 sometime in late June or the first half of July (in sha allah!!)

I will actually be in Oman all summer (June through August...completely encompassing the expected time of NOA2), and want to make sure that I have everything ready for Simo's interview before I leave for Oman. I have read that there is debate over whether the Affidavit of Support is required for Casa. What are your experiences with that? Because that will be the hardest for me to prepare (complicated finances from living abroad). Also, are their any forms he can start doing now? Any surprises with Casa? I know some he will have to wait for because of the 3 month limit to notarizing.

Also, what sort of timeline should we expect? How long is the wait between the NOA2 and the Consulate interview? I looked at someone else's profile and it seems to be a bit long (3 months or more?)

One more quick question, I have excellent contacts (friends) at the US Embassy (unfortunately not at the Consulate but nonetheless, quite high up) here in Morocco from living here for a year and a half, and was wondering if you think that they could put in a good word to speed up our process once it reaches the Consulate phase. I hear about people contacting their Congressional representatives, and I don't want to do anything of the sort, but we all know how 'knowing people' is quite helpful in this country.

So, I know that we may be impatient, but I am hoping that, assuming everything goes smoothly, he will be able to come in mid-to-late September. Is that reasonable at all?

Any tips/advice on these questions would be great!
Thanks,
Elizabeth

Hi everyone. I just wanted to thank everyone here. I am very thankful for Visa Journey. I haven't posted much, but I've read and searched for answers to our questions a lot. Without the guides and the topics that have been posted, I think we would have been completely lost. My fiance's interview is tomorrow in Casablanca. We are really hoping for a good outcome. Thanks again!!

Hello ,
wish you good luck and happy easy interview today, our prayers support you too:).Good luck.

Middle East and North Africawhat do they ask at Casablanca interview for K3
QUOTE (LSURVIVOR @ May 4 2008, 01:54 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hi me Diana again, does anyone know what questions they ask at Casa interview? what does interview room look like ? is it in a wide open room where everyone stares at you? do you stand or can you sit ? I have heard bad denial stories and good ones , so I am scared for him . My husband has not received his packet yet, it was mailed by NVC on April 16th to Casa, what is usual wait? also does the DS230 come in English to him ? He speaks Arabic , French and of course English very well, also how much is a medical if he already had his shots and xray done by his personal doctor in Meknes, does Casa doctor for the consulate transfer the shot documents and xray and only charge for bloodwork? Any answers will be greatly appreciated thank you thank you twice blink.gif Diana

hi,
first congratulations.. About the questions given at the interview, i think the link mentioned by Tenderheart is useful, what's petitioner name ?, birthday ,, what did you send her at her birhtday?, her address& her phone number?, her sisters and brothers& their names?, her job,,mostly questions about informations given on the G-325A. so he should know everything about you and your family, including your hobbies... h'll be interviewed through a window. must bring his police certificat and court record, translated by a certified translator. Medical tests made before are not accepted, everything must be done at the doctor designed by the consulate. Am not sure about the forms he has to complet, but i think are DS156 and DS156K , He can have a look at them by downloading them from the uscis web site. time for interview depends on the each case, mostly not more than 10 minutes.Good luck

My husband forgot to take off his ring off of his left hand when he interviewed but no questions were asked. I agree with Nagi, have him take it off so there are no questions or you can have him switch hands. Don't give them any reason to question something like this.

hi
thanks much for ur answer, the ring is not a problem caus i can take it off, the problem is that i sent photos of our engagement with the originak package 129f. innocent.gif

Nip it in the bud and don't wear any. Do not even give them one hint.

hi all,
when i sent my 129f, i sent photos of our engagement showing us exchanging rings as proof of having met in persons, and most of our photos are about our engagement ceremony, would that be a serious problem when am at the interview? the petitioner got a sworn paper from the consulate in 2006 declaring she is not married , but that was because we wanted to marry but we didnt because of some missing documents at that time, we still have it, can we show it if they doubt that we are married, caus we didnt use it . any one who has gone through casablanca and sjowed his engagement photos ? thanks much for any advices.
