The next step would be somewhat frustrating, nerve-wrecking and a test of patience but it feels good to know that you are not alone. Good luck with the rest of your journey!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures1st touch...

Woohoo...think this means anything but we had our first touch since our I-129 was received... :)

NOA2, my best guess? Keep your fingers crossed! And I'm sure you will be restless in the coming days till you got the approval...

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures129F Error in package...

You are really not able to send corrections after you have submitted the orginal petition unless an you get an RFE. If you get an RFE, you ussualy also get a return envelope to route the documents to the correct place.

Its possible, what you have sent may delay your processing, but you have to wait until you get an RFE to make corrections. Or you may get lucky and your petition gets approved anyway.

That is correct... Just keep on praying that they'll approve it and oversee whatever mistakes you made in your packet!

Good luck!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresReceipt Number

It's impossible. I've tried every number I can, and the only one that works is obviously not my case. So I guess I'll just wait.

We also waited for our NOA1 hardcopy so it's not going to be that bad... It usually arrives 2 weeks after sending your package... Good luck!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresReceipt Number

I can see on my online banking that my check cleared today, though I haven't received my NOA1. I was just wondering which number on the back of the check do I use to log onto the USCIS site? There are a gazillion stamps that are kind of hard to read and none of them seem to start with letters and I'm confused.

The one that starts with WAC...

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNOA2

Hello everyone!

Someone else in another thread suggested to me that I call the 800 # and inquire about my case. They had a simialr situation where their case had been touch, but no real updates. So, at her suggestion I called. Boy was I glad I did. My petition was approved last week on Friday. YEAH!!!

Congratulations!!! Wow! That's awesome! Maybe you can suggest the same thing with Tracy so she'd know what happened to her case?

Good luck on the next phase and again, congratulations! I am so happy for you!

Thanks Mae, and how do i submit a waiver?

You won't need that now... just when your new fiancee filed a petition for you. I'm not really good with this one but I think this link will help you...

http://www.visajourn...p?showforum=126

You can find tons of information with similar cases as yours...

Good luck again!

You should contact USE Manila and tell them what really happened with you and your ex-fiancee. And yes, this approved K1 will reflect in their file so if your fiancee now will petition you, you will need to submit a waiver (due to IMBRA thing). Better act now because visa matter is not a simple one... I thing it would be best too if your ex will contact embassy and the two of withdraw from that approved K1...

Good luck to you!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-129F final checklist

Finally, I'm about ready to file my I-129F. Here is what I have, please let me know if I've missed anything.

-I-129F
-G-325A - 4 signed copies of each from me and my fiancee
-2" x 2" passport photos attached to the G-325A
-My birthcertificate
-Letters certifying intent to marry
-Letter signed by translator certifying the accuracy of the included Japanese documents
-additional attachment to question 18B - proof of having met in person in the last 2 years.
-Primary evidence: Passport stamps, boarding passes, ID and bills showing that we share an apartment
-Photos

OK, now I have a couple questions. I'm paying by Money Order and there is an area for an address. I filled in the Pay to: Department of Homeland Security and left the address blank. Should I write in the address fot the NSC where I'm sending the packet or leave it blank? Also, when copying our passports to show exit/entry stamps, I didn't copy every page. My fiancees passport has 32 blank pages and it semed ridiculous to copy them. Do you think that will cause a problem.

I would appreciate any last minute tips if you have any.

Ryan

I see you got everything ready... I would like to suggest that you add the beneficiary's birth certificate since in some cases they received RFE for it but if you don't have it and you're so ready to mail the package, maybe it's ok without it. I'm not sure about the money order though since we used personal check but maybe you can write NSC's address in that missing field? I'm sure others can give you more details about this one...

Good luck with your journey!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresMy Case

my fiance recieved a letter and receipt of his application of the K1 visa... i registerd at UNCIS to be able to check the status and it says it was recieved on the 21st feb... and the last "touch" was on the 23rd feb..

now its the 8th march (my time zone) is this normal to have had no "touches" since then and now?

...

i live in australia and my fiance lives in california....

Welcome to VJ! If your case is at California, then you're in for a "tough" wait... Lucky ones are those who filed at Vermont because they get the approvals in 2-3 weeks time after NOA1. As for the "touches" we didn't get touch during the time of waiting... Just hang in there...

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAnother February Filer

Oh, Ok. When you see, "February Filer", I assumed that if it was confirmed received in February, that you were filed in February. But for VJ timeline purposes, it is the NAO1 receipt? I am all new to this, but I am learning..

Thanks,

No, I am a "February Filer". See my timeline. The packet was received and signed for on 02/28/06. Might as well be March though.

Take Care,

Randy

Duh...! Not 02/28/06, but 02/28/07.

Randy

Just to make it clear... you filed February but your NOA1 receipt date would be dated March and that technically makes you "March Filer"

Anyway, good luck with the rest of your journey! Sit tight and try to relax

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAnother February Filer

Hello Everyone,

I have not made many postings here, but I thought this one might be important. :)

I finally sent my package to the Texas Service Center on February 26th. I sent it Expess Mail and it didn't get signed for the day it arrived. But the following day, on the 28th, it was officially signed for and received!

Now I join the many wonderful people here at VJ following the U.S. goverment handle the most important paperwork I have ever done in my entire life. I am prepared for the ups and downs, the highs and lows, and the painful waiting to see my love finally here with me.

Take Care Everyone,

Randy

Congratulations in getting your packet mailed! That's one step down, more to go :P . Though you mailed it Feb, technically, it makes you a March filer (I think the first one). Your case will be transferred to California since TSC and NSC don't process I129F anymore...

Well, good luck with your journey. Sit tight because it's going to be a long wait for you if you'll get impatient.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCould this be true?
Wow... that seems fishy, you know. You even break the record of those who filed and got approved at VSC. NOA2 in 7 days? That alone can make me freak out... Let's just hope they did not make a mistake... I would hate it...
David-and-MaeFemalePhilippines2007-03-03 02:43:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCould this be true?

Ok... so I just received my hard copy NOA1 today and decided to register my case on-line and see what the status was. When I entered the receipt number this came up:

Application Type: I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)

Current Status: Approval notice sent.

On February 28, 2007, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E). Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service.

That is great right... but I am leary being that I am a Nebraska filer and my timeline says that it will not be adjucated until June. Granted all that could change and could be sooner, but I thought those timelines were pretty close on. Don't get me wrong, this is amazing news... just don't want to get my hopes us too soon. Is it possible they entered the wrong information or gave me someone else's receipt numer? Not trying to be all down about this, but it is hard enough waiting and do not want to celebrate when I were to actually have a few months left to wait. Guess all I can do is wait to receive the notice in the mail or call the service center on Monday to see if this is true. What does anyone else think? Thanks in advance.

That seems really strange... Are you sure you filed at Nebraska? I won't be surprised if your case was filed to Vermont because they approve cases so quickly.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresKind of complicated story.. ideas appreciated~

I wont get cover contraversial part of this, Im sure you will get enough of that from the other people here.

Work experience and education are not considered in family imigration visa such as the K-1. They are considered for other types of visas.

You need to be considered legally able to marry. Even though 16 is the legal age in some places for marriage, you might run into issues with that. Waiting another two years until your 18 before starting this process might be a good idea. There may come questions about the legitamcy of the relationship since you are still not considered an adult. It wont be very fun to wait 6 months or more for the interview and pay all the fees only to get denied because of your age.

You need to have met each other within the two years prior to filing the I-129F form. You will need to provide proof of the meeting. Anything from photos, to reciepts to boarding passes will help.

Your fiance (or willing co-sponsor) will need to be also prove that he/she makes 125% of the poverty guidlines. Or has enough assets to meet that level for 3-5 years.

Fees total about $1000+ over the whole process, but not all of it has to be paid at once. It is proposed that the fees will increase in 2008. Inital filing is $170. Visa interview and medical could cost $200+ depending if vaccinations are needed. AOS after you get stateside is $500-$800 depending if you decide to file for AP and EAD as well. later on, you will have to pay a fee for removal of condtions, but thats two years after the AOS.

Was talking on phone to fiancee and decided to check our case online. Wow! I was touched today and hopefully the Approval is at home. I have a 21 Dec date at CSC so I hope the rest of December will be approved swiftly.

Well...my fiance and I are at this point, where we wouldn't mind a RFE.....that would at least show us, that they are working on our case though. Right now we know nothing and it's just disappointing to go without a touch at all!!

*hugs*

Don't worry too much Diana... I know it's easy for me to say this but you'll just get yourself upset if you keep on worrying. I checked your timeline and you're still within the time frame... I know it sucks big time to see others getting approved and leaving you behind but just remember that nobody can tell what's USCIS system in approving cases... Keep your faith sister! K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWhat does it take to be touched around here!?!!?

Your time is almost here :) I didn't get any touches before my NOA2 today, it was out of the blue... A lot of people seem not to get touched :)

My first round of touches was possibly to do with check cashing and other administrative stuff :)

December filers seem to be flying right now. Maybe next week? :)

My NOA-1 was on Dec. 20. Last touch Dec. 25.

No touches, no emails, no NOA-2 since!!!! :crying:

Just called USCIS and talked to a real person: “We are processing applications from August. Please wait 3-4 months”. Yeaaa, tell that to people from Vermont.

Is it to late to move to Vermont?

Sorry for waste of bandwidth.

Congratulation to all NOA-2 recipients. Good luck to the rest of us.

Back to refreshing my screen.

We didn't get touched either during the whole processing... I think the only time we get touched was when they opened the packet and when they sent it to NVC after the approval...

Hang in there... your time is really close... And don't listen to "wait for 3-4 months" ####### because that's not really what's going on here based from others timelines...

Good luck!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresOkay, is THIS my NOA1?

Here' what I get at the USCIS website that I'm registered at;

On February 15, 2007, we received this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E), and mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. Please follow any instructions on this notice. We will notify you by mail when we make a decision or if we need something from you. If you move while this case is pending, call customer service. We process cases in the order we receive them. Is THIS my NOA1? And I haven't got a letter nor an email from them yet. What "instructions" are they supposed to send to me?

The site says my case was last updated 2-23-07. Is that a TOUCH?

Yup, that's the NOA1... As for the "instructions" that's if they will ask for something from you - RFE in short or if they already approved your petition. Hope for the latter

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHow soon do you check

Do VJ'ers check to see if your petition has been received and NVC or left NVC? Do you wait for the letter or wait 4 weeks to call?

Looks like we both received NOA2 at the same time... I've tried calling NVC a lot of times but it is so frustrating to be put on hold. Today, I was able to get a hold of a live person but he didn't want to give out informations because I'm the beneficiary. He said it will take 2-4 weeks for them to process our paperwork and have my petitioner call them after that certain time. I guess we'll just wait till NVC sends my fiancee a letter regarding our petition... And oh, I do email them everyday but nothing since the last one they told me that they already got our case...

I guess it will need a lot of patience again...   Unfortunately, I've already consumed most of my patience during USCIS stage, nothing's left   .

Well, base from my own experience, your body will tremble, you'd be so shocked, you'll be shouting and jumping like a wacko (so make sure no one's around you) and if you will break the good news to your honey, he will have a hard time understanding what you're saying because you'll be too excited and would say things in between "oh my god, oh my god". I think my fiancee asked me to calm down and take deep breaths but it didn't help
