K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures45 days delay, because of wrong spelling?

Diana...

Am sure it's ok...I think that 45 Days thing is a standard response and doesn't take that long in reality.

I changed my address (I know, not the same thing) between NOAs and the automated response was "Up To 45 days" as well - in actuality it didn't take anywhere near that long and may even have been right away...

I know you're probably tired of people saying "It'll be OK" but stay positive.. a lot of people are pulling for you guys... (F)

Well said Otto! I hope Diana and John will feel better after all these!

I'm so sorry Diana for this new problem. :( :( :( I don't know what to say but reading Jodee's reply, she seemed can truly relate to what you're going through so maybe you should listen to what she said. I can't believe setbacks could come one after another... I can understand how upset and pissed you are from all these. Just keep your faith sister... I know you and John can pull it off...

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCSC appears to be working this week

Way cool news in that we got famous CRIS e-mail saying we got our NOA2 today. Total time was 82 days, no RFE and 3 touches on 01/04, 3/19, & 3/20.

We're CSC via Nebraska.

Best of luck to all,
PPFKL

Congratulations to you! It's been long time coming and it's good to see some actions here in CSC for VJers. Now on to NVC then to the last leg of this K1 journey!

Best of luck to you too!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresQuestion about dates and NOA's

I have noticed my dates seemed off, so tonight I double checked everything, when it was sent, received and so on.

The notice date on my I-797NOA for the I-129F is March 6. So I assume that is actually my NOA date. I had been saying 3-12 which is the date on the internet on my account. Does this mean my file was looked at once after March 6th? Like on the 12th? So maybe this is a touch, and I could be getting a NOA2 or an RFE?

Hmmmmm feeling touched? Call the touched Support line. 1-800-tou-chme.

Ok so it was a touch..well thats still good news. Maybe they put it in a new file cabinet or on Mary Janes Desk. Thats good, I am so suprised I haven't found any jokes on here about Good Touch vs Bad Touch (am i the only 40+ year old in here who had a kid in the public school system where we spoke to the kids...,now good touch is...now bad touch is...lol...Ok...)

I can feel you... I've been there and I can truly understand what you're going through. My advice is try to relax because you still have a long way to go. Try to find some new hobbies

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresdo u need ur fiancee's BC?

im just wondering if its ok! to FAX my fiancee birth certificate? thnks guys

If you are doing a K-1 Visa, (which I assume you are), it is not required with the I-129 apllicaction.

reach449

If you have it, send it. I've seen others received RFE and asked to send a copy of beneficiary's BC. Take John&Diana's case for an instance... It's not going to hurt if you will overkill your packet. Just make sure that all the documents you will include are in English language, otherwise, have it translated.

As for your question betsutabol, maybe you should ask your fiancee to send you an original copy of it, just to be safe...

Good luck!

Sometimes I wonder if checking a site like this makes it worst. You first hand see people getting approvals and passing you by but if you didn't see the other approvals it would be easier to deal. Sort of a double edge sword. I don't believe that they are intentionally trying to mess with anyone or ruin their lives.. You just have to keep the faith. It will come. (F)

   I think it helped us too that we anticipated a later date for approval. That's why it was the biggest surprise when we got it too quickly and early... Aloha kakou,

Joan and I are about 35 day past receiving out NOA1. Can a RFE happen at any time, or is there a point that after so long you can feel safe??

Mahalo,
Bill

You will need to be more patient because you are in for a 90-day wait (more or less) at CSC. It's too early to think about RFE and NOA2. If you think you missed something (which is vital) in your packet, RFE is probable (but still will take some time), otherwise, sit back and relax!

If you have it, include it. It won't hurt your packet. Just make sure that aside from the original birth certificate, you have a translated copy (if the BC is not in English language) as well. I've seen others received RFE for that and RFE will be the last thing you want to get.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-129F Package Layout
This is our cover letter on our I-129F packet so all the documents were arranged accordingly the way we listed it.
  • Payment of filing fee in the amount of $170. Check number _____ dated ___.
  • Form I-129F
  • I-129F Supplements: Part A: Question 9: Names of Prior Spouses / Date(s) Marriage(s) Ended; Part B: Question 18: Has your Fiancé(e) met and seen you within the two-year period immediately preceding the filing of this petition?; Part B, Question 19: Did you meet your Fiancé(e) or spouse through the services of an international marriage broker?
  • Forms G-325a (filled up and signed) and photographs of the Petitioner and Beneficiary.
  • G-325a Supplement: Former Husbands or Wives
  • Divorce Decrees / Death Certificate
  • Proof of Citizenship
  • Beneficiary’s Birth Certificate and Certificate of No Marriage (in English language already)
  • Photocopy of receipts for travel, itinerary from May 16, 2006 to May 28, 2006 (1st trip), itinerary from October 29, 2006 to November 20, 2006 (2nd trip) and Immigration stamped passport pages.
  • Photocopy of hotel reservations and hotel receipts (1st trip and 2nd trip).
  • Relationship photos taken in my fiancée’s province and in places where we stayed together (1st trip and 2nd trip).
  • Copy of our letters of intent to marry.
  • Copy of our signed proposal of marriage and her acceptance.
  • Photocopy of money transfer receipts, mail correspondence, phone bills, used phone cards
We punched holes on top, bound it with ACCO fastener in a plastic (thicker) folder and then used a divider sheet with tabs at the bottom for proper identification if each document...

Note: Beneficiary's BC was not listed amongst the documents for I-129F but others received RFE for it... As for the money trasnfer, mail correspondence, phone bills and phone cards, we thought it's not going to hurt if we include it. We didn't receive RFE and we got approved in 82 days

Good luck with yours!

I mail my I-129F last March 15, 2007, I went track it and it was delivered March 17, 2007 but until now I haven’t receive the return receipt that they suppose to sign. What does these mean? Also until now no snail mail from them.

Thanks for the reply.

I think it took at least a week for us to receive the return receipt and 2 weeks for the NOA1 in the mail. You can check with your bank if the check is cashed and at the back of it would be your case number that you can use to check status online... Be patient... Hang in there!

Bingo! I couldn't have said it better myself!
No need for apologies. Maybe this guy will see what you've written and it will give him inspiration to do the same

You guys take this forum thing way too serious  Maybe some day i'll be helping out a new Vj member who is worried about his/her K1 and answering some "dumb" questions but it will never annoy me in such way like some people. This site is for a specific purpose: to help others, just like it says under VisaJoruney.com "YOUR FAMILY IMMIGRATION COMMUNITY" i cant imagine when a family member asks you for help, lol!

There, there... don't take as seriously as well. I was just saying that when I was a first timer here, old timers snapped at me because I posted a "dumb" question without reading the GUIDES. Come on guys... don't be too harsh... If you're annoyed that the OP didn't take time to read the GUIDES and preferred posting queries, you need not to reply and let others do it...

I've been snapped at too here at VJ when I was a newbie and it felt bad...

I wasn't trying to be harsh. Actually, trying to help him realize and understand what he's doing. I personally can see he's bouncing all over the place and not paying much attention and taking shortcuts just by what I am reading what he's written in all the threads he's started. In a thread he started yesterday, he said he hasn't submitted his 129F yet, but he's asking questions and what to write on the form 134? If the GUIDES were read and followed, he wouldn't be asking about what to write on a form 134 at this point. It's not needed until much, much later. Provided if he can get his 129F approved. :D
I guess I shouldn't care. It's his visa. If he wants to take shortcuts and screw it up for himself, only to go back and recorrect all the mistakes or missed requirements, we should all just sit idly by and let him do it. This is why I had said he's doing a great inservice to himself and his fiancee.

Well said then  and my apology. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNebraska CS to California...How bad is it?

im a week old member, (or just about) im still learning the tools that is out there for us to read and find out. I know it may seem stupid for some who already know how it works, but didnt you feel lost when you first started? Im learning, just not as fast like you. But thanks for the links and info, now i can track where you found it and use it more often than before.

It's not a problem. On each page of this site, there are HUGE tabs that say "GUIDES","Visa FAQ", etc. When I first got here back in January, I took the time to look this site over. I made a big decision to marry a foreign fiancee. I wanted to know all that was involved. I mean, I'm going to be creating a whole new life not only for me. But for my fiancee also. That's what we're all doing here. So I took the time and read the GUIDES, etc, and everything that applied to my visa application. I sat back and watched the posts in the forum. After reading the GUIDES, etc., I understood what everyone was basically talking about. Because devoting a little time to reading things, I saved myself about $1500 if I would have paid an attorney to do the same thing.
I am just trying to save you from some people that become pretty hostile towards someone who is fairly new here that asks an easy question like, "Do I have to sign all these documents?". It is obvious if someone has read the information on this site or not. Or at least, has made the attempt. Arm yourself with the knowledge and you will be doing a great service for you and your fiancee. ;)

@Cecile

I've said this many times and I'll say it again. If you have the copy of beneficiary's BC, include it. Just make sure it is in English, if not have it translated. You can include a copy of the passport as well since it will show vital informations about the beneficiary's i.e. citizenship, names used, birthday, etc, etc. There are documents which are not listed in K1 as a requirement but if you think it will strengthen your case, include it. Good luck with your life's journey!

I'm just curious..

I assume you have copies of everything. Since you've been waiting so long, have you started refilling out the forms, and getting everything ready, just in case?

It shouldn't take a long time to fill out the forms again, since you already have all the information gathered. I would be getting a replacement packet put together, so IF, they say it is lost, I could send a new one out the same day.

Say he/she decided to refile, but all of a sudden CSC "found" the original packet that has been "missing" and finally cashed the check. I assume they will return the second packet and the check uncashed???

I just do hope that the OP will finally hear something from CSC... one month has been wasted waiting for the notification if the case was recieved...

I just recieved my first letter since sending out my I129f, its called I-797, Notice of Action.

Is this considered NOA1 or 1NOA or is this just a letter stating they recieved my petiition? I also see a "receipt number" is this the WAC tracking number?

I feel better that i got a response because i no  w see its coming from the service center in CA where it was foward it.

Congratulations on your first Notice of Action... With that WAC (case number), you can check online status at USCIS website for progress on your case. It usually takes 3 months to get approved or the so called NOA2, but in our case it took 82 days.

Good luck! Now, the real wait begins... Sit back and relax because you are in for quite a wait...

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresmet in person and ongoing relationship

on the i-129f form do i need to place this seperate on the cover sheet or can i just place proof of having met in the past two years and ongoing relationship, because for both things i see is pretting much asking for the same things phots and etc, so instead of me placing

- proof of having met in the last 2 years
- proof of ongoing relationship

cant i just place it like this

- proof of having met in the last 2 years , proof of ongoing relationship

since ispretty much the same thing

I think combining the two is ok...

Since my fiancee visited me twice, what we did is to use a separator "1st Trip" and "2nd Trip" for all the proofs of meeting and relationship.
