How do I answer this question? leave it blank? or just guess a date?

Naly,

We didn't put dates but "as soon as I got the visa". You will need to handwrite that one though...

QUOTE (adobocrazy @ Feb 26 2008, 09:31 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hi VJ Friends,

I am new to this forum and I just received the NOA1 for my fiance in the Philippines. I know there is a long way to go in the process
but when would be the best time to visit her. Since the visa might be issued some time after her interview, is it better to wait until after the interview or
maybe just go sometime in the middle so the wait will not seem so long? Just curious as to what most people are planning to do. BTW this site is awesome. helpsmilie.gif

You can always go back to the Philippines as long as you want. More than one visit to see your fiancee is always an advantage as it proves strong and bona fide relationship. If you got the money, go fly while waiting for your approval to make the wait much enjoyable and then come back again and be with your fiancee during her interview.

When using the !-129F and G-325A forms can I abbreviate some of the words like JAN for January or the country in order for it to fit in the allotted space. Otherwise I always run out of space. Thank you.

I don't see any problems with abbreviating the months but if you will do that on country, do you think whoever will handle your case at USCIS will understand the abbreviation? How about instead of trying to fit everything in the form itself, why not use a supplemental page? If you will check here: http://www.visajourn...Form-G-325A.pdf you'll see how a supplement can be done. Just make sure that each and every supplemental page you'll have is signed and dated at the bottom.

Good luck!

So, everything will be fine if I keep the k1 Visa and write I-129F petition under it. I am stressing so much over this entire thing

QUOTE (MarkandNi @ Mar 27 2008, 08:36 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
This is my first post so I am sorry if this question has been posted before, but I was unable to find much information in the forums. Is there a way to track your K1 visa package after you have received the NOA2? We received our NOA2 last Sunday via email (Easter Sunday of all things), and I will like to see if I can track it as it goes to the NVC and then to the Guangzhou consulate. Thank you for any information.

You can also email NVC and ask if they got your case already or if it has been sent to the consulate. If it's been forwarded to Guangzhou and they told you when, you can try tracking it at DHL. There's a trick in doing that and you may get lucky and see if the package is on its way or have been delivered.

Hello,

I am in the process of filling out my DS-156, DS-156K and DS-130 forms and you have to put on both forms where I intend to stay once arriving in America. Unfortunately, I do not have an address yet as my fiance is still looking for an apt. Does anyone know if I can put 'address not yet known' for this question or will that result in my form being rejected?

Many thanks!

Is he staying somewhere at the moment, like his parents or an apartment? You can use them for the meantime.

Congratulations in getting your GC! Yeah, it is indeed a relief to finally be off from doing immigration paperwork (at least for awhile). You will see the date when your GC will expire (it's in front of the card). You should file for removing conditions at least 90 days before the expiration.

Will he be staying in Kuwait for good? Not going to come back to US at all? I may be wrong on this but if he's keeping his home and other properties here in US, you may be able to continue pursuing the K1 visa. May is not that far anyway... Once you got the visa, maybe you can fly to US and then you two get married and then fly to Kuwait together? What I'm not sure about is if you can file your AOS if you are not in US.

I really don't know what to say. I guess I'm not the right person to give you advice. Sorry.

If it's really necessary that he goes back to the Philippines after you got married, then he can do that. And you're right about this:

QUOTE
I got the impression that if a married person who came thru K1 visa leaves the USA without AP, then the spouse should apply for spouse visa in order for that person to enter the US.

You wouldn't have any problem doing that (petitioning him thru spousal visa) since he entered legally as K1 and got married within 90 days and didn't violate any laws. Although it's going to be another waiting time for the two of you. But it looks like you have really thought about it and have embraced all the facts. I'm proud of you for not making him choose between you and his job. good.gif

Good day to all!

I regret that I just noticed today that on my 2nd daughter's birth certificate, my name as her mother was written as MA.Evelyna instead of a complete MARIA. We have submitted the I-129F and just got the NOA1. This makes me worry that the reviewer might notice it causing for us to get an RFE or if not during the interview necessitating to show the b. cert. as proofs.

Can please anyone share any idea on what to do about this? I would like to settle things as early as possible not to cause further delays.

Thank you so much.

There's nothing you can do right now but pray that they won't give a big deal out of it and send you RFE. If ever they will send you one (God-forbid), I think you can use a notarized affidavit of discrepancy to show as proof that the names MA. and MARIA are one person (you).

Good luck!

I can't fit the whole address in the space allowed on G-325A form and I-129F form. Especially my Fiancée’s address, it is very long when translated from Chinese into English and there is no way it will fit in the space allowed on the form.

Questions:

1. Can the address be filled out in Chinese on G-325A and I-129F?

2. What is the format if I am to attach a separate sheet for the address? How do I indicated the attached sheet on G-325A and I-129F form? Also, for G-325A, I will need to attach 4 extra sheets, one for each copy of the G-325A form, correct?

Sorry, for all my questions. I am just eager to file the petition and I want to make sure I do everything correctly.

Thank you all for your help.

Make a table... the fields on the extra sheet will give you enough space to write the information. You won't need 4 supplements for 4 pages of G-325A... one is enough for all of them, just put the extra sheet after the 4 pages of G-325a.

I met her in Dec 2006 and filed a petition in March of 2007, that was perfectly the right timing. I thought I have to meet the person in 2 yrs that is mainly the reason why I lied. I know that I am a badddd liar.

This thing is very highly sensitive but as a first time petitioner, I am so clueless and didn't understand the procedures. I didn't read much on this board before going doing the steps. Now, it is a baddd mistake. What is the correction to this prob? Will I need to refile and forget the old one?

Thanks.

I almost got this mixed up too. I thought my then fiance and I should at least knew each other for 2 years before he can petition me. Being here in VJ really helped a lot. I heard US consulate in Vietnam is really strict when it comes to proving a bona fide relationship. Maybe an immigration lawyer can help you?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPrevious Marriage Discussion
QUOTE (HarryandAlena @ May 19 2008, 02:00 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
The time is drawing near for Alena's interview. We have delayed because she is finishing her degree at the university. After five hard years of her hard work I can wait for her for another month. My situation is this. I was married to a Russian woman once before. I brought her into the USA back in 1999 and we were married for almost 5 years. The subject has never came up with Alena and I did not volunteer the information. One time I tried to start a conversation regarding previous relationships and she wanted nothing to do with it so I have left it alone. I was planning on telling her all about it in April when we had a trip planned for the Dominican Republic but at the last minute I had to cancel because of work problems. I just feel like it is not a subject you bring up on the telephone.

My question is this. Is this going to come up in her interview and will it be a problem if she does not know anything about it?

Thanks in advance for the advice

Harry

How can you keep it when you had to disclose all your previous marriages in filling out those application forms? You may want to tell her the truth before her interview because there's a possibility that it will come up as part of the interview. When I had my interview last year, the consular officer asked me if I was aware of all my then fiance's previous marriages and he even followed it up with how sure I was that I will be the last wife.

The truth shall set you free. Even if it won't be brought up on her interview and she passed and got the visa, you wouldn't want to live with the fact that you kept a secret for such a long time. I know it's not all your fault since you tried to open it up but maybe it's about time to correct things up. Good luck!

I also saw a post there recently where someone posted their interview experience and had seen some people get rejected after long interviews, and one of the reasons given was the age difference was too great... I assume the official reason wasn't that, and it might have even been the persons best guess and not what any officer told them, it's second hand knowledge, the actual age difference wasn't specified, I think it takes a pretty big age gap to be an issue there (or of course, possibly an older female). Can't know for sure until you get there.
