National Visa Center (Dept of State)	NVC has idiots working	Its Not a dig at the immigrants..Its just a state ment so people UNDERSTAN when you have a certified copy..its what it IS..and the supervisor could NOT seem to understand what a certified stamp seal is...Im just fed up with this..I cannot believe this is so HARD to get thru NVC..I have another certified copy of it IN MY HANDS...I guess Ill just send away to the courthouse for them to stamp EVERY page and have the Commisioner write a letterhead paper on TOP to say...THIS IS A TRUE XCOPY.... I know someone for Lagos after case# emailed embassy and got interview date  for June starigt away. Yes you schedule dear.   I believe their website is updated with info now. There are steps to take like your packet 3.   Have you emailed the Embassy yet? Do you have your case# from NVC? You could have been assigned months ago. I would get on that now. Oh wow!!! Is this valid? lol I mean im sure it is but im so glad i caught this info!!! I have been under the impression that you wait for your interview date in lagos!! Im happy this has changed! when did this change? I have read recent reviews that they waited for the embassy to contact them with a date.. yet other countries schedule their own which makes more sense!! So as soon as we have a case # from NVC we can get an interview date? and is it by email or can you call to schedule? US Embassy and Consulate Discussion	Denied - what to do next	Hello! I just spent a good amount of time reading your post and everyones responses. My heart goes out to you and the problems your having with the denial on your petition. While I can't offer much advice moving forward (I'm awaiting my NOA2) I would just like to say that I wouldn't be too hard on people who are looking out for 'you'. While none of us know your fiancee or you we do understand the process your going through, at least all the waiting, etc. I know from personal experience that there are many scammers and dishonest people out there so someone making comments to that extent aren't trying to say that your fiancee is one its just that they are looking out for you! At least that's all I really got out of it. Just be smart and always look out for yourself!! Good luck! He has a partner he is looking out for also! Not just himself he is in love. He also asked for people to stop Making comments such as yours, they are both hurting.. Please respect his wishes. Its not the job of every VJ member to look out for him. US Embassy and Consulate Discussion	Denied - what to do next	Hi folks,  thanks in advance for any advice.  Here's the situation.  I'm going to try to stay factual 'cos we're both so upset but i'm just trying to figure out what's next so we can move forwards and still have something to look forward to.   My fiancee got back from the interview a few hours ago with bad news,  we are denied.  We had been so fortunate in the rest of the process to get to this stage quickly so at least we did not wait for so many extra months like i know many of you have,  so at least we found this out now and not after waiting even longer.  Silver linings...     Okay, i'm paraphrasing here and trying to make sense of what happened 'cos i was not at the interview myself,  and that would not have helped the situation as i understand it,  so if i leave any ambiguities forgive me but communication is tough until she returns home and the news is so fresh.   At the interview they did not even look at the relationship evidence,  they said all our paperwork was in order but there is another problem. 7 years ago she saw another guy and they broke it off - he was going to file fiancee visa but then they broke it off.  Since then he met another filipina and brought her to the USA,  and now they have no contact.  So she thought the visa was either not applied for,  or was invalid/withdrawn due to him being able to bring a different fiancee over.   At the embassy they informed her that the previous K1 for her is in their system and is not withdrawn, and it's not allowed to have multiple petitions for the same beneficiary.  She asked before leaving and they said we are Denied. But on the State Dept site the case is updated to show "Your case is under administrative processing. Please see the letter you received at your interview for more information." There is no letter from the interview.       So, i have a few questions - i feel totally unprepared for this 'cos i had really anticipated an approval,  and i'm still in shock about it but trying to be practical on how to go forward,  so please be kind and polite with advice - i know almost everyone here is,  so thank you.   These are some questions that i'm wondering about... 1. Will/should we receive a letter from the embassy? 2. How can we withdraw her previous petition - do we need to contact USCIS,  NVC or the Embassy to do that?  We don't even have a case number, A# or anything - just his and her names is all. 3. I assume of course that an appeal is a bad option - correct? 4. Will the denial cause problems for our next petition? 5. If we get the previous application withdrawn,  from the previous fiancee,  is it possible to get the current one withdrawn too and then simply refile with updated info? 6. Or is it better for us to get married and apply for spousal visa instead?   7. If we do go for spousal visa do we still need to get the previous applications withdrawn?     Any advice is appreciated,  as i said i'm just so unprepared for this and trying to get what information i can to help us move forward.   Thanks,  David and Celesty This brought tears to my eyes..... US Embassy and Consulate Discussion	Failed Medical I really need your help	Well I cant tell u the answer u need pertaining to the visa but Im very sorry to hear of this... Its sad may God bless u and ur daughter.. Im sure u need eachother... Im sorry also but if she "got over" her drinking problem she would not have been drinking in the past few days.. Recovering alcoholics do not drink at all.. Its called falling off the wagon if even a sip is consumed. I was married to one for years.. If they drink they are not getting better. And as for the drugs, altho I am an advicate for legalizing marijuana, it does purpose she has an addiction problem considering she knew of the upcoming medical exam but had no desire to stop smoking for it. Its so sad bcuz ur daughter should b with family u her mother, to help her thru this trial in life... I pray she can stop with her substance abuse. It hurts everyone u love & that loves u wen drugs & alcohol consume ones life... Im so sorry this is happening to u. A good resource is a drug & alcohol counselor maybe an advocate of sum type in her area and a sponsor for alcoholism. The root is why the doc sees an issue with passing her. It will b a win win if she can get her visa & also kick her addictions. Hopefully this will b her motivation. God will provide to all who seeks his love.. Use your knees & pray... i hope the time of filing is more relavant to her petition rather then age in which she would b finished with the process. US Citizenship General Discussion	A real mess for citizenship, married before divorce not final	Is it possible the Uscis is wrong at this stage? An error in looking at the divorce date? Ive seen it happen time n time again here in Michigan!!! When a divorce is legally final on a hearing date but then neither party files the signed judgment with the clerk due to the fees for filing, and boom! Wen finally filed, the date represents day of filing even tho the actual divorce took place earlier on.. Culd this b the case? Wat state is Marie from? All states procedures vary but i would ck into the USCIS making an error wen determining the divorce date if she was certain her man was free to marry back then... Our Government makes ALOT of mistakes... Its worth checking out... Maybe even goin to the court where her man was divorced the first time an getting the divorce decree from his first marriage... Use a F.O.I.A form its public record no matter wat state... Also have her check the States divorce laws, if its possible if the ^ above scenario happened? I would explore all avenues right now and doin this foot work (pro-per) will save her $ if she does end up getting an attorney any ways.... Lagos now is allowing u to schedule your own interviews. If u have your case number u can email the embassy and they will direct u in how to pick your date for interview, please see topic under our Country Portal i cant remember the topic name but its from just a few days ago.. The OP asks y Lagos is taking so long to schedule interview & some very informative posters commented with instructions on how to set it yourself which is how most countries schedule interviews. Lagos changed this back in January.. I will post the info to find this convo. Ok the post is titled... " To much time before interview is scheduled" its on page 7 currently.. See the comments, this will certainly help u to set your own interview date! good luck! Wish i wasnt such a newbie n could tell u directly how to go about this.. But i was just informed a few days ago of this change for Lagos. Your husband could SEW him harshly and get you the visa and get him self a big compensation and even screw the consular career. Slander is only illegal in certain States.. This would not qualify for a lawsuit also the rewards or winnings would not b the visa OP is seeking OP is the husband..... I viewed last years processing times and they were adjudicating March petitions at this time, Im praying they are playing catch up. There are only 17 K1 i129f petitions filed with CSC in March that i could find doin the countless hours of research inserting WAC  receipts. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NOA2 approved...best way to handle flight preperations early?	We were approved on 05/10! Woohoo!   I know it's next to impossible to plan buying a airplane ticket so early, because it's not wise to order the tickets without knowing the flight date...yet I could order ahead of time to try to anticipate it, but I certainly don't want to jump the gun too fast...or end up ordering it way ahead when I could have gotten an earlier flight, etc...   Anyone have any plan of attack for getting airfare ordered for a decent/price (and still having a solid chance of it being avail) when the rest of the process happens?  At what point in the remaining process should I look ahead at the calender and pick a specific date/week *(I'm confident she will ace the interview and the medical) - Am I being too optimistic? :-P   The only wild card in our process as far as I can see is that my lady used to live and work in Signapore for a number of years (as a Nurse) and she has to get a police clearance...I have NO IDEA how long that will take, and hope it's fast, but could take forever for all I know...any tips for that appreciated too!!   - Brett It is actually much cheaper to buy a ticket 2 weeks in advance as opposed to 2 months or further out... Police clearance is obtained same day at the rate of N3500 $21, same day . Medical is done same day and result given days or at most a week after. So not until you have case# should you start gathering police reports.   And no need to get medical so soon because once you get it the clock ticks and you have 6 months to immigrate to US once you have medical. And for Lagos they want interview letter. Even though I seen one get one recently without letter.   Its best to wait for case# from NVC and start gathering documents to be safe. Or do we need the NVC case number first? I heard that the police clearance is good for 1 year, is this correct? I do understand the medical is not valid for as long and should and can b done alot closer to interview date. Maybe it paid off to miss the letter of intent and getting RFE for it.
