K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresScheduled Wedding before receiving K1 Visa

You 'might' make it since they are starting January petitions now but that's not guaranteed and VERY doubtful since they are doing some of Decembers backlog as well. Even IF you were approved tomorrow, then you still have another perhaps two months between the I-129F being approved and you attending the medical and interview and being granted a visa, this is assuming everything goes perfectly

Unless there is military involvement then no, there isn't anything you can do. Even with a military expedite, you're still given a guideline to wait thirty days

Thank you sis!

Depends on when he files it. One more thing I should mention he needs to file a return if, and when, you AOS 'adjust status' as well.

Naka receive na ko ng notice via email from US-Manila embassy na no need na daw ako mag hintay for the letter galing sa knila. I can proceed na daw na makapag schedule ng interview. How long does it take ba para maka pag pa schedule and maka kuha ng interview date? Im still waiting for affidavit of support dapat ba mag pa schedule na ko or hintayin ko muna ang affidavit of support?

TUMIRA KASI AKO SA HONGKONG NG ILANG TAON KAYA KAILANGAN KO NANG HONGKONG POLICE CLEARANCE.. MARAMING AVAILABLA SCHEDULE DATES NGAYON KAYA MG PA APPOINT KNA NG INTERVIEW

ah talaga. hinihintay ko pa yung affidavit of support ko. kaya di pa ako makapag pa schedule. or mas maganda ba na magpa schedule na ko? is there a way na makikita ang schedule dates without having to pay first? mga ilang weeks bago makakuha ng schedule for interview?

You don't need to wait for the Packet 3, they don't normally mail it out. If you get it good but it's not required in USEM. Just call NVC to check if they've forwarded your case to the consulate. It took us 3 weeks before they've forwarded it but some are sooner.

Follow Ryro's instruction as how to proceed since MNL case # is all you need.

Good luck!!

Thank you. nakaka overwhelm lahat ng gagawin ha. Para shempre in the name of Love. GAGAWIN! thank you

Manila Embassy:

waaaaah ang dami nun ha... Eh pare parehas lang ba ang nasa laman ng packet na yan? so matagal mag pa sched ng interview???? pano ang medical nyo?

After NOA2 AND YOU HAVE YOUR MNL #

(don't need to wait for the letter from the embassy )

Once you have your MNL # you can take your passport and required visa fee (in Php) to BPI and pay your visa fee. The embassy website states that within 4 hours of paying at BPI you can schedule your interview appointment but most times it seems to take about 24 hours.

http://www.ustraveld...paymentinfo.asp

When scheduling online with the embassy you need to include the "XX" at the beginning of the passport number, your passport number IS your receipt number (normally).

Priorty Date; this is the date the NOA 1 was accepted.

Make sure to print two copies of the interview confirmation page as you will need one for St. Luke's and the other for the embassy.

Have copies of passport bio page, confirmation page from scheduling interview online at embassy, and of course the 2X2 photos. (copy of annulment is asked for at times)

Preregister at St. Luke's, it saves time when you arrive.

CFO: ALL exiting required to attend. Things have changed with CFO, for sure follow the link and read the website

http://www.cfo.gov.p...atid=140#ThirdA

Required documents & "OTHER DOCUMENTS" they ask for at CFO: copies of; CENOMAR, certified birth certificate, bio page of passport, visa page from passport, pictures together, from USC - bio page of passport, birth certificate, divorce decree (if been married before) are the most common. The "other documents" clause can be ANYTHING with those nit-wits at CFO.

this is what we followed :) Hope this will help you. God bless on your journey :)

Fee Payment Options

Bank Payment Process Change: Review the new instructions for paying at the bank. Starting September 1, 2012, it will be necessary to bring the printed deposit slip to the bank for payment. The bank will not process your visa fee without the correct deposit slip.

Cash at Bank

You can pay your nonimmigrant visa application fee with cash at any Bank of Philippine Islands. Before going to the bank, you must print the applicable U.S. visa application deposit slip available below on this page. Take the printed deposit slip with you to pay your fee.

DO NOT print multiple copies of the same deposit slip. You must have a unique deposit slip for each transaction.

If you print a deposit slip in advance of the day in which you plan to make your payment, please take note of the expiration date on the deposit slip. If the expiration date passes prior to using the slip to make your payment, simply return to this site and re-click the appropriate link below to generate a new deposit slip. Bank agents will NOT accept payments based on expired deposit slips. Upon receiving of your payment, bank will issue you a receipt. Save your receipt. It cannot be replaced if it is lost. You will not be able to schedule an appointment without your receipt number.

Select the deposit slip that matches your visa application fee from the list below. Values are shown in U.S. dollars and native currency. This page has more information about the different visa application fees.

Deposit Slip - $160 MRV Fee
Deposit Slip - $190 MRV Fee
Deposit Slip - $240 MRV Fee
Deposit Slip - $270 MRV Fee

After you have paid the visa application fee, keep the BANK receipt for your records. It cannot be replaced if it is lost. You will not be able to schedule an appointment without your receipt number

waaaaah ang dami nun ha... Eh pare parehas lang ba ang nasa laman ng packet na yan? so matagal mag pa sched ng interview???? pano ang medical nyo?

dont wait for the packet 3, pay your interview fee at BPI then schedule your interview online.. if you will wait for it it will take more than a month.. in our case as soon as we had the case number we immediately paid at BPI and then scheduled the interview after 6 hours and a month after that was the time we got the interview packet or Packet 3. God Bless :)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHealth Issues

In all honesty these issues (ovarian cysts) if your doctor doesn't see a need to have them removed, you don't have to. They aren't generally life threatening or a problem. I have ovarian cysts, they are so common and rarely is it recommended that they need to be removed.

The only reason I had them removed is I had hundreds and some were very large.

If you feel you have to have them removed, do it but if your doctor doesn't feel you need to, I wouldn't.

Either way, having ovarian cysts won't affect your k-1 process.

Hello, we learned that i have ovarian cyst way back 2004, and then after few years the other ovary became polycystic and it also grew a paratubal cyst. The doctor said that if I dont feel any pain then she wouldnt recommend having it removed.

Did they remove both ovaries?

Thank you.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHealth Issues

Do you have medical insurance?

Would an operation that you elect to have that is not recommended as medically necessary be covered by your insurance?

If you don't have medical insurance AND the cysts are not a threat to your health [I did not look up any information about them], could you wait until you get to the US and be covered by your Fiancé's medical insurance?

I dont know if he has a medical insurance. Im thinking since I have HMO medical insurance here covered by my employer I would like to take advantage of that before I leave. Im just kind of skeptical if this would afftect my K1. Thank you

Razel, it should not be an issue with your medical examination at St. Luke's for your K1 Visa. Your medical situation does not appear to be a contagious disease as defined by the CDC. This is so I could give you a short answer and I would not speculate on your other problems.

Yes thats what im thinking too. Just wanna be healthy and health issue free when i get to the US.

Hello,

We applied for K1 Visa. Before this happened My OB GYN found out that I have a cyst in my 2 ovaries and paratubal cyst. The doctor didnt suggest to have it removed just yet. I want this to be removed asap and be healthy. I'll be seeing my OB GYN next week and discuss to her my options. I really want this lil monsters out of my system its kinda scary. Would it be best to get Medical Exam first and then possibly get an operation scheduled or is it best to finish the K1 first. Would this be an issue if i go to the US. Need help please.

Looking forward to your comments and suggestions.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresRFE to show we met in person. HELP!
Hello,

They also asked for RFE, photocopy of his passport and passport stamp that he went here in PH. Now our petition has been approved. Just waiting for the instructions packet. Though we were advised by our agency that we can sched for the interview and do medical.

Hi VJ'ers,

I need advice from the throng on VJ about what I can do to meet the requirement for proving we met in person.

Background: Here is the letter that I included with the I129F for Part B, Question 18: "Has your fiancée met and seen you in within the two-year period immediately preceding the filing of this petition."

To Whom It May Concern:
Michelle and I met in person in Manila. I arrived on May 23 and returned to San Francisco on June 6, 2012. During our time together I stayed at her house in Las Piñas, Manila. Our time was spent in and around Manila. I met Michelle's family, most of whom flew in from Butuan City for the duration of my stay.

Attached is documentation that confirms that I, Jeffrey X. XXXXX, met and saw my fiancée, Michelle X. XXXXX, within the 2-year period preceding the filing of my I-129F petition.

Included herewith:
• Itinerary/Receipt of round-trip flight from SFO to MNL
• Copy of petitioner's US Passport with entry and exit stamps from the immigration officers at the Manila airport (entry: 5/23/12, exit: 6/6/12)
• Copies of boarding passes
• Receipt for Php 550 Passenger Service Charge upon exiting the Philippines
• Copies of toll receipts for taxi rides on Manila Skyway
• Copies of receipts from restaurants and movie theater
• Photographs documenting our time together
[here I included 6 pages of photos of us together, printed in full color at Kinkos, with dates]

Here is the text from the RFE from the CSC:

REQUIREMENT THAT PETITIONER AND BENEFICIARY HAVE MET IN PERSON: It must be established that the petitioner and beneficiary have met in person and/or have been in each other's physical presence at any time during the two years immediately preceding the filing of this petition.

  • Circumstances of Meeting - Submit information regarding the circumstances under which the petitioner and beneficiary met to establish this relationship.

So, my question is, what else can I do to prove that I spent 2 weeks with Michelle? Are they looking for a longer narrative about our love story? More pictures?

Thanks for your help!!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresK1 Visa Expiry

Thanks Dave and Roza,

thats very helpful information.

State ID and DLs are very, very state specific.  Some will allow you to use the I-94 and issue you an ID or DL and others will do nothing until you have the GC (Green Card) in hand.  I would recommend that you get your SSC (Social Security Card) after waiting about 2 weeks after arrival.  You will need that number for all kinds of things here in the US and as a K-1 visa holder you are eligible to receive one while the I-94 is valid (up to two weeks before it expires).  You have until the I-94 expires to get married and after getting married you need to file for AOS (adjustment of status) which costs $1070.  The sooner you file AOS the sooner you can work and travel internationally.  It is recommended that you also file EAD (Employment Authorization Document) and AP (Advance Parole) as they are free when you file for AOS and usually arrive sooner than the GC.

Good luck,

Dave

I believe the visa will expire 6 months after your medical exam. And you have to leave your country before the said date in the visa, which is July 10. Upon arrival in US you're given 90 days to marry your fiancé.
Congratulations! smile.png

May I ask what time are you in the CFO seminar??

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresK1 Visa Expiry

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but ... I am pretty sure you need to ENTER THE USA before July 10.  Upon entering the USA, your K-1 visa is "used up" and no longer applies.  You then have 90 days to marry your fiance (starting from whichever day you enter the USA).

I am puzzled because that seems like a short validity (only 3 months?).  Usually K-1 is valid for 6 months, I thought.  Did you have your medical exam quite a long time ago?  I believe the K-1 is valid for 6 months after the medical, so that may be the reason why yours seems shorter than most?

Yes, i had my medical exam January 2013, I was scheduled for interview same month but there was a delay with the affidavit of support because my bf had it sent through USPS. So he had to request for another batch of documents and had it sent using fedex.  Thank you for the speedy response.  much appreciated

Good day to all. Hope all is good. I got approved last April 3, got my visa 2 weeks ago. The visa says issued April 12, 2013 and expires July 10, 2013. Please help me understand, Do i need to be married before July 10, 2013 or do I leave my home country (Philippines) before Jul 10 2013? I was under the impression that I am given 90 days upon arrival in the US.

Please shed some light.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresK1 FIANCE VISA EVIDENCE

Read the interview experiences of people in the Santo Domingo consulate. As you will see, people are approved on questions and not paper evidence. You should take everything but the kitchen sink in terms of proof, but ultimately the decision will probably be reached just by questioning. Even when people are interviewed in the infamous "window 11" -and the few who are able to still get the visa after the Stokes style interview- the decision was not based on paper evidence, but on critical analysis of the story and how well both versions match up.

Best wishes! (F)

Hi,

My interview is in 2 days and can you please tell me about the window 11 and the Stokes style interview? This is making me really nervous. More advice on the proof of ongoing relationship? Many thanks!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresInterview In 2 Days - Need All Your Advice Please

I just went through an interview with my fiance in Bogota, Colombia. For skype just select all of your messages and copy them and then past them into notepad. It will contain everything including dates and times. There will also be the line that says a web call is coming in or going out. If you are using an IPhone, you can select all of your messages and email them to yourself.

Me and my fiance practiced everyday leading up to her interview. They asked her about what my phone number was, but she told them that she didn't know. That is one question we weren't prepared for. She has only called me through skype or instant messenger and she told them that. I had pieces of emails, skype chats, IM chats, and google calls from each month from the date forward of my application.

Just be patient, relaxed, and honest and everything will turn out fine. They just want to prove that you have a valid relationship and that it isn't fraud. They just scanned all of our pictures and information. The toughest part was the waiting for hours to be called...then waiting more then called again...and then waiting more. We arrived about 6:30 and we didn't leave until about Noon.

Hi,

Thanks you for sharing your story. It helps me cope up with all the worries and nervousness. I'm also worried that having been in a relationship for only a year would also be questioned by the CO. I hope they don't play God because love really do happen and not everyone is fraud or evil. LOL.

Thanks for your response. As per the Psych Eval, definitely not related to drugs or other substance. That would be tragic. Good thing I managed to just live life the best way I can. Do you only show your emails and photos at the interview or do you send them along in your package? I'm filing for a Mexican to come to USA.

Hi,

I would be best to include copies of emails from the time that you met. Make sure you show key information i.e. date/time, both your names and message. It will serve you best to keep in mind while doing your I29-F that you are convincing the US Gov't that your relationship is genuine and that you are not trying to commit fraud. Also remember TO FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS - it will be the key to the success of your application and also avoid an RFE (Request For Evidence) which will delay your application by 2weeks to 1 month depending on the nature of the RFE.

Everything or at least the most important information you need to know are in the website of USCIS.

Follow this link: http://www.uscis.gov...000082ca60aRCRD

I hope this helps. Best regards.

- We got photos. Screenshots of his text email to my email (where his mobile number shows, date and time also shows) there are about 2000 on the message counter of my Hotmail only messages from him. Another (roughly) 1800 of my replies. We don't have phone bills because we mainly use Skype. Got text messages but I can't bring my mobile phone inside the USEm, got cards, gift notes (he buys from Amazon), notarized statements of support and awareness of the relationship from his Grandma, Uncle and Best friend, receipts from his visit. ***AM I MISSING SOMETHING HERE??? ADDITIONAL TIPS?
