Hello Vjers,

 

I saw this topic. My boyfriend had me booked for a Jal flight Manila-Narita-Haneda-Sanfo for June 15, Please help me understand, do i need a transit visa? is this something i need to file here or is it available in narita airport? I am travelling alone so I wanted to make sure my travel would be as smooth and worry free as possible. 

 

Also, on the japan embassy in manila website, why do i need a bank certificate if im just transferring airports?

 

has anyone here had this kind of experience.

Super thanks for all the responses. So i went to Japan airlines yesterday to ask or maybe try to rebook the flight and make it Narita to SFO, the lady said i dont need a transit visa, when i get to Narita I will ask for a shore pass so I can go out of Narita and to Haneda. japan airlines doesnt have any direct flights from Narita to SFO, all flights are being directed to Haneda to SFO.  She said transit visa is only applicable if I will be staying for 24hrs and more. 

 

You don't need a transit visa as long as you are on a confirmed ticket and not a standby ticket. The airline takes care of everything. If for some reason the flight is cancelled and they would need to put you up in a hotel, tbey would arrange for your visa. This is an agreement between Japan and major airlines. Best to call the airline so you get the answer yourself if you're worried about it.

If your flying standby, meaning you have a buddy pass or a cheap standby ticket from an employee at the airline, you absolutely need a transit visa..

 

 

I just wish I wont have any problems when I get there.

Hope everyone is having a good day. I have a question and hope I can get right answers here. My fiance booked me a flight thru Japan airlines for June 15, its says Manila to Narita and then a 4-hr lay over and then Haneda- SFO. Since I will be transferring airports, do I need to file a transit visa? Is this something I need to file now while Im here in PH or will that be available in Narita.

 

Did anyone here had that kind of experience. Please share and help me. Im kinda nervous because I will travelling alone.

Honestly, with the appearance of the scar (being linear and all), it will be hard to convince the Panel Physician that it was due to an accident. They know better (or most do anyways) since they are trained to be observant with this types of "behaviors" (since it is part of the examination and evaluation). And in case you will say and insist that it was just an accident and not due to suicide attempts and they still refer you for a Psych evaluation, what would you say to the Psych? They will know that you are lying and would just probably will get you into more trouble? Because you're hiding something? Because you are still possibly "unstable" and such behavior could still "recur"? That you maybe a threat to your self and to others? If this is the kinds of observation and evaluation that the Psych will have on you, then there's more of a possibility that they can give you a "Category A" remarks and maybe be ineligible for clearance and a possible visa denial? I'm sorry if I'm beeing too straight-forward. I am not saying this "will" happen but it "can" happen. And whatever the consequence of your action and whatever you decide to say on your medical exam, you will have to live with it.

Have an early medical, so if they refer you for a Psych evaluation you will still have time for that before your interview. If ever you will be referred to one-> tell them that you know now that you were wrong and you regret what you have done. No problem or mistake can be corrected by doing another mistake. That with that experience and going through all those emotional problems (even without conseling), you had come to accept that what you did was wrong and that LIFE and being alive is more important. That you regret it and will not do it again because you value LIFE now and that there's more you can do and with your fiance who you love and loves you, you know you will have a beautiful LIFE TOGETHER and would not waste that chance. But you have to be convincing enough so the Psych will know that you do REGRET WHAT YOU'VE DONE AND YOU HAD MOVE ON and is looking forward for a wonderful and meaningful life with your fiance. The Psych should be convinced that such physical harmful behavior is not likely to recur. The Psych will dig in to your inner thoughts and problems to know what had caused it? What caused you to do such things? If you have other Psychiatric/mental problems and behaviors? If you can be cleared?

Just my opinion and advise. It will still up to you to decide if you will tell them or not about your suicide attempts. God Bless!

psych evaluation requires a whole perspective of studying your behavior, the way you answer to the question and the way your body responds to every words/questions they are throwing at you. when you say 'yes' but your body tells otherwise then you're screwed... i know honesty sometimes can lead you to more complications, but most likely it will help you go through to this process... what we've done in the past only reflect us to who we are now, whether to change us for the better or for the worse. but by coming out and telling the truth and becoming more responsible to our actions, only tells/shows maturity... and im sure st. lukes will give you credit for that... thanks so much guys for all your help..u have cleared all my doubts regarding this matter...i was scared to tell the truth about it on medical cos i have read that some tends to be very honest yet they get denied..but my case is different from the one who got denied..i will be ready for it...its gonna be tough but its the only way out...

During the evaluation the doctor offered me a chance to restate the real reason as he was not buying my alibi. I apologized several times and said I did not mean to insult or offend anyone and that I was only afraid that my past will be a hindrance to my future. I began telling the doctor that it was way back in High School and inflicted that on my self because I was lonely and wanted a better attention from my mom. I told him that when my mom saw my wounds 2-3 days later we talked about it and the relationship improved slowly. The doctor asked if I repeated it and I said no...and I really didn't :) On the information sheet, it was clear that I am a functioning member of the society and worked in few of the top BPO companies in the Philippines and had been a manager.

I know I'm not insane (lol) but I am concerned about the initial denial. Also, after my statement of the truth, I cried as I repeated my apology to the doctor for denying the facts and that I was just really afraid of how this could affect my dream, future and being with the man I love.

Will this affect my interview? Please all your responses will be highly appreciated. My interview is only in a few days.

Here's my opinion...just my opinion.

He gave you a second chance to tell the truth and you accepted the offer. I think he understood why you weren't forthcoming the first time. When people give a second chance like that...it's just that..a second chance. I would be extremely surprised to hear that this affects your interview in any way. I think everything is going to be fine.

Len...I hope you don't stress too much because I believe you will pass the medical and you will get your visa approval. I have read about cases like yours here on VJ, and they were successful. I have never seen anyone fail the medical with the same case as your case.

You just have to be honest with the doctors and with the consular officer, and you have to jump through all the hoops that they put in your way. It may take a little extra time and expense, but please keep your eyes on the prize...your sweetheart who you will spend the rest of your life with. No matter what difficulties you face now, it will all be worth it in the end.

I know how it feels like, believe me, I had my medical a month before my interview just to make sure because I have been reading about people having scars on the wrist and how they are delayed for days, sometimes weeks. During the physical exam, I did deny the cause of my scars, saying it was caused by some other stuff, but the doctor did not buy it, she still gave me referral to a psychiatrist. So I was thinking about the results of my medical for a month, especially, I kinda got a glimpse of that 'annotation' medical condition class B due to life problems. and also, the 'psychiatrist' made a sarcastic question 'what if my visa ends up being denied because of my past, how will I deal with it?'. I was worried sick for almost a month. But during the interview, everything went well. The 'medical condition' did not come up during the interview with the pre-screener nor the actual interview with the consular officer. The pre-screener asked me 5 questions, actually there were only 3, coz the first two, he asked for my name and date of birth:(did I apply for a US visa before?; did I go out of the country before?: where I met my husband?) Consul asked me two questions: (when I met my husband and how long ago was the wedding), 2 questions directed to my husband (What is his profession? and why did he stay for almost 2 years in the PI?) Nothing about the medical. :yes:

TO the OP, I am on the same boat about a month ago. We underwent the same thing - psych evaluation. But I don't think you need to worry about this one because, in reality, if the psych eval was actually a "real" one (i was a nurse and i know for a fact that for assessment to be valid and precise, evaluation should take more than an hour or more than one session), it should be thorough, prolly will last at least an hour and he will ask you more questions regarding the incident, what are the factors behind the incident and all that. In my experience, I was only interviewed for a good 5 minutes, and most of that time was spent asking information already written in the forms that we previously filled out. So please do not be worried. Waiting for the interview day is stressful enough. Smile, I'll pray for you and I know everyone in VJ will pray that you pass the medical with flying colors!

Got my immunization yesterday. Got my CD and vaccination documentation too. No other referrals given to me. However, I'm still worried - although it's pretty normal to feel nervous and worried since this whole process really feels like being the with the one you love most is in the hands of someone else. Do you think other concerns MIGHT arise during the interview?

Thanks for your response. And yes, I wasn't forthcoming in my initial statement however I decided to come clean with it and the my honest reasons for not being forthcoming. The doctor said it's ok and even said "don't you just feel better now?" And honestly, I did. I just hope his write up is not as bad as I'm worried about. I acknowledged my mistake and I hope I get a chance to continue my journey to just be with the man I love. If it fails, then he said he's coming here to marry me. There's no room to giving up - just learning from the past and do our best to be better everyday.

If you come across similar story as mine - please share it/them with me. I'm really worried. LOL. I can't help it.

yes u cant have the result of the psych eval bcoz it is confidential.. but the worst u can have is do the psych test.. w/c is depend on the psych dr. who did the psych eval. to u in slec.. but dont worry u will be alright.. told u it is just their procedure.. and after all that process in ur med. u can have ur interview ok...

if they tell u to do the psych test then u will gonna have the result of that after 2-3 wks. and its a one day battery of test...

Get a copy of the report (if you can), what you're looking for is a finding stating either you are or are not a danger to yourself & others.

From your post in the other thread you incident was some time ago and not repeated. You even indicated that the recover process resulted in a stronger better you which if conveyed to the Psych professional is a very good indicator that the incident is behind you and no longer is a problem.

By the way, I only did the Psych Evaluation. Then I was told to call 2-3 days for the results. What are the indications that the Psych Eval is failed? What's the worst that could happen and what are the reasons/grounds for such?

My cousin having physc exam too when she have her medical cos she have a lot of scars in her wrist.She told to the physc the truth that she always attempt to cut her wrist in time they argue with her husband.But after that she passed her medical and now shes in the states.

I have 5 big packs of "MAGIC SARAP" (It's a seasoning granules) 3 big packs of "CRISPY FRY" (chicken breading) and 6 Packs of Dried Mangoes and everything was fine :) 

Its ok to bring magic sarap but make sure its a new unopened bag (very sealed) good.gif

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reportsfinally VISA APPROVED!!!!!!!!!
My interview date was yesterday (thursday)April 18,2013.
I woke up very early (3:30am lol im so excited)
My appointment time is 7:30am..I'm from Paranaque City not too far from Manila Philippines Embassy of the United State of America (20-30 minutes away from my house)
i got there almost 6 am and the line was NOT too long for K1 visa (given same priority as Immigrant Visa.
At the pre-entrance,1 lady and 1 guy in blue polo shirt will look for your appointment letter,passport,2 copies of form ds-156,2 copies of form ds-156k and 1 copy of form ds-157..and if it is complete then they are going to put barcode sticker at the back of your passport then proceed to entrance and security check where your bag will be checked and body scan so MAKE SURE DON'T BRING ANY ELECTRONICS or else you are NOT ALLOWED TO ENTER :no: after security check proceed to the counter which gives the priority number (mine is 6144)
the lady will get the ds forms and appointment letter then check your passport and will return it with a plastic with ziplock.Proceed at the back of that counter and i was surprised :huh: (LOTS OF PEOPLE)sitting and waiting for their numbers to be called by the lady wearing blue polo shirt so I looked for available chair.
My bad i was sitting with tourist applicants I didn't know that K visas applicant are in last row and watching something :bonk: :bonk: :bonk: i didn't saw any signage (duh!! :oops: there's a signage but its very very small for you too see)FUNNY?yes its funny!i didn't know if my number flashed or what!
so i went there ..I was watching queuing board number for almost 1 hour!then i saw my number (6144 window 43)..Proceed to door number 2 (that's for immigrant and K visas applicants)inside you will have the second security check where your bag will be checked again and you will go through body scan again.
When i was inside i went to window 43 (first window inside of the building ) i smiled and said "good morning" to american guy.He asked for my name and birthdate and instructed me for digital finger scan then he told me to take a seat and wait for my number to be flashed again..after 20 minutes I saw my number again (1644 window 53)The nice Filipino lady just asked for my birth Certificate,BPI receipt for visa fee,CENOMAR(Certificate of No Marriage),NBI Clearance but because my birth certificate was late registered she asked for my original Baptismal Certificate followed by my fiance's 2012 ITR,W2 and Affidavit of Support Form 134 and last but not the least my passport inside of the plastic with ziplock :yes: then she made her preliminary interview and these were her questions:

1. Name of my fiance
2. How did we meet and when was this
3. What is my age and What is my fiance's age

Then she told me to take a seat again and wait for my number on the monitor and after 15-20 minutes I saw it again (6144 window 67)

It was window 67 and she was a middle aged nice american with a curly hair ^_^
She first made me swear that i was telling the truth then "Good morning"
and she started his interview and her questions were..

1. Name of my fiance
2. How did we meet and When was this
3.How many sisters and brothers
4.Who is my fiance's best friend

followed by "ok CONGRATULATIONS AND APPROVED please take your sit and wait for your name to be called " :dance: :dance: :dance: :dancing: :dancing: :dancing:
i want to shout but i just smiled and said "THANK YOU MAM" and she answered me "YOU'RE WELCOME"

Filipino guy in window 73 said "CONGRATS" all you have to do is wait for your visa so i smiled and said ''thank you''

May I ask if it's okay, after you received the packet that the US Embassy sent you did you pay for the K1 Visa and schedule your interview then went to your medical exam. Does it take longer to schedule your interview.

I just want to know the current process right now so that I can give my Fiancee a heads up.

Hello guys! My fiancee mailed the K1 packet to California Service center last September 2, 2008. And until now he dont get any confirmation or NOA1 yet. How long normally it takes before my fiancee can get the NOA1?

It would be nice if we can get to know each other's members here with the same timeline.

Will appreciate anyone who can enlighten our worries. Thanks in advance...

Thanks guys for the quick replies. But he said its noy yet cleared from his bank. Only he received the confirmation slip from the Postal office that its already received. But it took so long. My fiancee mailed the K1 Packet last sept. 2 and receive the Postal confirmation notice last Sept. 20.

Anyway i hope we can get the NOA1 soon. cant really wait.

Hi guys!!!

This is related to my previous post about the NOA1. My fiancee mailed the K1 packet from Oregon to California service center last September 2, 2008. He registered the mail. Im juz wondrin if it will really take long to get the NOA1 if its registered. Then my fiancee received the RETURN SLIP from the Postal Office that the packet already received. So my fiancee only got the confirmation from the postal office now and he dont get any notice yet from the service center.

Any one here can advice me? I told my fiancee to verify and ask. But he juz told me to relax and he will receive the NOA1 soon. But its uncertain for me bcoz i read some post here that u can get NOA1 normally after 2 to 7 days. Its already 3 weeks now and we dont get any update yet.

Is there anyone here same with our case that send their packet by registry mail? Please i need some replies to enlighten me. I will appreciate also advices...

Hi guys, just wanna share how happy i am knowing i will be with my fiancee very soon.. It's my friday the 13th happy day today. I received my K1 visa today at around 11am. Just 4 days after my interview.
