how to get a receipt no.. or something for the paid 380 dollar immigrant visa fees

is the proof needed to keep with us ?

when u did file for the i-130 that time there was the requirement for marriage certificate

now the new guidelines have changed but it wont matter the proof of certificate for your marrige

u may contact senator n see what the actual matter is

If you don't have time to change the name on your passport, you can take your marriage certificate to show why you have the new married name on your petition.

mon i know u r right here but the biggest proble is my court marriage certificate also has my married sirname along with my dads name i mean its like

wife : mala "efghi"
daughter of: sunil "abcde"

efghi is my married sirname

so in my marriage certi also the sirname is married one

Mala,
You should contact the embassy/consulate and ask them. My passport is also still in my maiden name and my consulate (Amsterdam) told me that as long as the passport is valid for 8 months it's no problem.

i will contact the embassy tommorrw n make the new one if it can be issued soon

the urgent one takes 4-6 weeks n non- urgent ones takes months

NOA-1 (I-797C): Acknowledgement notice from USCIS that they receive the petition.

NOA-2 (I-797): Approval notice of the petition from USCIS.

One gets an approval email, if he/she signs up with USCIS website. Plus USCIS sends the approval notice my post, regardless one signs up with USCIS website or not.

They are not needed for the interview. You can keep them with you for your own peace of mind, but the embassy/consulate will never ask you, if you bring them with you.

Waiting forever

I have been waiting for 10 months for a answer to my petition. after writing congressmen and senators and them writning CSC on my behalf... still no answer from CSC. They say I'm under review. There is nothing to hide. No requests from the CSC for information.... simply no answers. It will soon be 1 year without an answer... Should I just take no news as good news? any suggestions?

these security checks are done at every level at uscis stage level , nvc level then again at local consulate level
mostly the south asian countries suffer the most

How long NVC takes to send DS-3032

My I-130 petition was approved on May 1st, 2007 and NVC case created on May 22, 2007. It's been 23 days now. DS-3032 and AOS fee bill have not been generated by NVC. When I called, the rep said it takes 6 to 8 weeks. Does NVC take so long? Reading other's timelines on this forum indicates otherwise.

Any advice/information would be greatly appreciated.

Case Complete..what next?

Hi everyone, I just had a few questions about what to expect in the next couple months before my interview for a CR1 visa.
Our case was completed June 18th, and first of all I'd like to know: Do they usually send you some kind of notification in the mail after your case is complete? Also, how far in advance do they send you your interview letter before your actual interview? As for the medical, do I schedule it for myself, or do they schedule it for me?
I pretty much have everything else in order, I even went out and bought an accordian folder today to put all my documents in for the interview (which is still about 3-4 months away..haha)
but if anyone can answer the above questions it would be very helpful

and give u a lot of time before interview
montreal embassy takes approx 2 - 4 months for interview approx.
u cannot schedule interview yourself
the local embassy will send u the interview letter with the documents you need for your case also with the covering letter which includes your date n time f interview .

I-130, G325-A: ??Hostel Address OR PERMANENT ADDRESS

G-325 a form is no longer taken as seriously as it was taken previously ,

you should be consistent with rest of the forms if u mention hostel address in i-130 then do so in i-129f too.

i was in my medical school hostel when we filed for g-325 a form

thereafter when i finished my schooling n was back to my home i mentioned my permanent home address in rest of forms n i was consistent and it was perfectly fine as of now .

I think we will mention the permanent address on the I-130 AND the I-129F. (they both ask for your relative's address, NOT specifying the permanent address or the current living address).
On the G325A, they specifically ask for the current living address, ('and the addresses you have lived at for the last 5 years....') and so we will write her current hostel address. (Yodrak, I know your point about the 'current' address....)
If the G325A is NOT a big deal, I think it should be fine for the address to be different on the I-130 vs the G325A; IF they ask, I will tell them: one is her current temporary address, and the other is her permanent address....
It should be OKAY to have a different address on the G325A vs the I130/I-129F, right?

HI.
I'm the applicant in my case and I just recieved a letter from the NVC called checklist.they said : they are still waiting for the immigrant visa fee.please submit the fee to the NVC.
well the problem is I already sent the fee bill and I checked the case status and it shows that they recieved it.but I think this letter was sent before they got the fee payment.
now I'm wondering what should I do.shoul I just ignore this letter since they got the payment or what ?

call the nvc with the case number and ask if they received the payment .

change of address

My husbands case was denied in may but i have a question i'm not sure about i have a family matter i have to deal with and i may have to move out of the state i'm living in to go help with the family problem would that hurt my husband visa and how could i go about changeing the address for the noir? if anyone has any experence with this please let me know

for how much time do u need to go to resolve the family problem ?

Maiden Name or Married name: Already has passport??

Find out if changing the name in the passport is all it takes for a legal name change in India. If so, find out how long it takes. If you can get it done before you have to provide a passport or passport number, go for it. You can file with the name you are certain will be in her passport when the time comes, and show her maiden name as a maiden name.

If not, well you don't.

Amen, that is exactly what I am trying to find out: how painless or painful (quick or SLOOOOOOOOOOOW) it will be to get her name changed on her passport in India..... Based on that, shall decide...
Quickie though: Anyone know, if there are ANY other requirements for a woman to get her last name changed in India AFTER marriage, apart from the marriage certificate??
(It is the norm for Indian women to use their husband's last name after marriage: and I do NOT see newspapers full of legal notices of last name changes of women....)

why u want to take on unnecessary troubles
when she will get her visa in her maiden name
all that will again require to show firm proofs of her stay in dehli
like voters card , drivers license from delhi , ration card , pan card , bank accounts from the place where she needs her passport to be issued in your case delhi
again the passport clearance certifi will take time for the new passport despite of the new passport getting issued in the married name in 7 -14 days ,
it is just not known the time needded for her to get the new passport clearance for the new issued passport .

(eg suppose her maiden name was richa khanna and her married name is richa vallejo)
she can mention in her application as

u can always mention the applicant name in your wifes case as

richa vallejo nee khanna

people do this way who have there passport in maiden name and they dont have any problems ,
