Please be advised that the administrative processing on this case has now been completed.  The consular office will review that case and we will contact the applicant once the officer reaches a decision. Please be informed that the case has not been cancelled.  You saw the wrong status because the system updates the case automatically and generates the status.  We have fixed the problem to indicate that the case is still opened until we reach a decision. You were advised of this requirement over 1 year ago, but we have not received a response from you since then. As a result, your application for a visa has been canceled and any petition approved on your behalf has also been canceled. Your application may be reinstated and any petition revalidated if, within one year, you can establish that your failure to pursue your immigrant visa application was due to circumstances beyond your control. Received yellow letter in the mail on January 8th 2013 with instructions on what to bring at interview. Since then I haven't heard back from them. Called the USCIS office . They told me that My field office is currently processing the July 2013 files. This is very frustrating. any advice? Anybody in similar boat? will infos pass appointment make any difference? US Citizenship General Discussion	N-400 November 2013 Filers	No, the Yellow Letter does not stand for anything..  your status can be checked online at the USCIS website and it will tell you if you are "In Line" for interview and you can also sign up for email/text updates for your case.  The USCIS website status will say if you have been placed In Line for the interview que.     Not sure about that.The USCIS website status sometimes does not update anything,it depends by each field office.For my green card they did not update anything(fingerprints notice) till after my interview was done.The yellow letter should mean that all the background checks have been completed (spoke to USCIS officer on the phone about it) and in my opinion that is the date should be as you called 'in line".Anyway,i have received my yellow letter dated january 10th so I will let you know when i will get my interview letter and if my status online will change or not.	vares66	Male	Italy	2014-01-29 10:02:00

US Citizenship General Discussion	N-400 November 2013 Filers	It does speed up the process based on the office. My friend got the appointment letter on 9/15 for 10/08 biometric . He went on 9/16 and got it done. He got his interview letter on 10/03. Now that def. did speed it up else he would have waited another 20 days for his interview letter.   The eligibility date is what it matters at the end as we can't have the oath before it.Mine for example is February 7th, so even if i did an early walk in ( and you are not 100% sure they allow you ) i could have probably  received my interview letter a week before of the one that i will get now, So? K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	The first Gay K-1 Fiance Visa Progress with DOMA repeal on the Horizon (Tim & Keno)	WOW.  Its 3:00 am in the morning and I just got text from my finance.  He finished his interview and was approved.  We are so happy with the experience with the US Consulate in Jakarta.  They treated my fiance so fantastic.  We were the first gay couple to be granted K1 at the Consulate.  They expressed their full support of DOMA and the right of all couples to be happy in marriage.  They made him feel so comfortable and asked very good questions about our relationship. Of course they ask about how we met and communicate.  Questions about me, my job and house. And my finance indicate the interviewer genuinely was happy to see our pictures and mentioned we looked so happy together. He wished us the best of luck and was happy to approve our visa.     By the way our timeline indicate 85 days to interview and approval.  We couldn't have done it without the great tools on VJ.  We did get some weird advice from some members who didn't understand DOMA but maybe they will get educated.  But in terms of process of visa everything was very beneficial.
