URGENT...PLEASE HELP!!!	hi there, my husband who is a USC(got the citizenship through naturalization, he was born in Taiwan) lost his birth certificate too like yours:) do u need the naturalization number for your partner's interview?or somethikng else?   Hello Jack&Maria:   If your fiance (back to the time you filed K-1) does not have his birth certificate as requirement for interview. What documents are can and able to substitute for that?   We're all need birth certificate (for both USC and Beneficiary)  for interview because it's one of requirementss documents. Try the people's committee office in the town in which you were born...they should be able to obtain a certified copy for you.  I assume you were born in Vietnam, correct?   JRF, you're correct. I were born in Vietnam. Back to years ago when my parents filed paper work for me to came to US and I had my birth certificate to provide as a requirement. Do you think DOS or any US Office keep a copy of it? If so, can I obtain a certified copy?   Another question for all cases in Vietnam who already have experience due to lost certificate and can not provide as requirement. If USC lost birth certificate what other documents can and able to substitute for that?   I'm appreciate for all your answers. Where were you born?   I were born in Vietnam. Vietnam	Names: Airplane Ticket vs. Passport/Visa. Please help ASAP.	I did forget to mention the bookings are filed by name. If the name is different than the government ID the ticket agent might have a hard time finding the booking. Make sure you bring a copy of the itinerary to the airport with the confirmation code. My fiancé and i have traveled a lot in ASEAN.  I always put her Surname (Nguyen) in the same place as I would my own.  Then I put the rest of her names in the First and Middle name sections (Last name in Vietnamese goes in first name section, others in middle, same as for my western kids).    Hi saigonwait,   For US passport(s) I understand but for Vietnam passport(s) I still confuse with. For Vietnam passport(s) for example, (Ho va Ten / Full Name: Luu Huu Trinh) and if we're all Vietnamese then we're all know that the written order would be: Last/Family Name will be (Luu), Middle Name will be (Huu), First/Given Name will be (Trinh) but for a lot of non-Vietnamese they will think differently (I'm assuming they assume that, Luu Huu Trinh, the First/Given Name will be (Luu), Middle Name will (Huu), Last/Family Name will be(Trinh)), especial for international traveling.   My fiance will travels soon to US and will use his Vietnam passport (with K-1 visa) and I think it will be a problem if the Traveler names are NOT match with government-issued photo ID exactly.   For previous K-1 visa holders, please help me to straight this out. Here is the situation:   We're searching online for cheapest airplane ticket for my fiance (SGN-IAD) but how to type in the name to be "Traveler names must match your government-issued photo ID exactly" ? Assuming and/or we all know that we will use our passport to check in at airport for all international flights. My fiance VNM (Vietnam) passport : Last/Family  Middle  First/Given (Luu Huu Trinh), however, after booked flight, it appeared to be : First/Given  Middle  Last/Family (Trinh Huu Luu). Is this will be an issue at airport while he check-in? Vietnamese names are always swap with American names. If there any one had problems or experiences with these please share/give advices. What are steps I/we need to do to avoid any problems at the check-in time at airport? Vietnam	K1 Interview Roll Fall 2013	yes 4 months, would be a year since I seen her last, that is too long, we should both be beaten for waiting and believing in this horrid visa process.   We did not see each other since Nov. 16, 2012. Wow, taking 60% as long as it took to get approval of visa on US side.   Your submission for interview date is only days different from ours, 8/24. Vietnam	Ho Chi Minh consulate. How long until interview is schedule	My fiancée mailed in the packet 3 for K1 visa on August 26 and they received the packet on August 30. I have been calling the Department of State for the past 3-4 weeks asking if an interview date has been schedule yet. It has been a month and a half and an interview date has not been schedule yet? Also my fiancée sister knows someone who is applying for a spouse visa and they mailed in packet 3 after my fiancée and they already received an interview date.    Does anyone know how long does it take for Ho Chi Minh to schedule an interview and mailed packet 4 after they received packet 3?     Our almost three months since P3 sent out but still NO interview date scheduled. If the Fiance has lived in VN the entire life then the VN police cert is the only one required. no visa can be issued without a police cert. Thanks ScottThuy. I just called nvc after two weeks of approval and i was told they don't have my application yet...they also said i it takes up to seven weeks to receive it....is this true? I have tried calling several time since last week ad i kept getting a busy tone. I was able to get then once last week though. This week so far i called today 3 time s and got the busy signal.
