I agree...we had a similar issue with my husband's work history, we put 'see attached' and included a separate page with the answer.  on top of the page we added petitioner name, beneficiary name, my A#  make sure to put info on the separate sheet that ties to your application just in case the sheet gets lost they can add it back to where it belongs

Thank you for your reply. actually they will go to Philippines this coming October 2013,(Fall) to attend college. I did not file citizenship for them because i thought once become a US Citizen, they can only stay a certain amount of days in Philippines. My mom is a US Citizen and she's told to stay only in Philippines for 27 days, she has to come back here in US after that. I am so confused. Anyway, can i still file for a citizenship for my sons even if their Re entry visa is on the way now?  Or if they will stay in PHil. for 10 months, can they still apply for US Citizen as soon as they come back here in US?

Hello everyone!  My sons ages 21 and 19  are already permanent residents for 5 years here in US. They will go back to Philippines this year to finish their college education there, they have Re entry visa.  My question is,  can they still apply for a US Citizenship after they finish their college  in Philippines? They expect to be finished in 2018 hopefully. Is there any cause of delay for them to apply US Citizenship if they get out of the US Country? Please if anyone had experiences the same as our case, kindly share. I greatly appreciate it.

The children can apply for citizenship 90 days prior to their five years as an LPR. There are residency requirements for them to meet prior to filing for Citizenship. You really need to look into those as you are planning on them moving to the Philippines for the next four or five years.

Can they still apply in 2015 even if they went back to philippines for 5 months stay there? but they are back now here in US.

My sons obtained their  US residency  in 2010. My husband who is a US citizen was the one who petitioned them from Philippines. They are now 22 and 20 yrs old.  They live here in US for 3 yrs and 6 months straight, then went home in Philippines for 5 months and now theyr back in US. My question is,  " When can they file for US Citizenship?" How long they have to stay as permanent resident before they can file for citizenship? Please share if u have the same experience.

This is for our friend's case. He is a US Citizen who plans to go to Philippines to meet his girlfriend. They been talking online for almost 2 yrs now. He will go to Phil. this August 2014, my question is  can he file for a fiancee visa before he meets his gf?  He wanted to bring his gf here asap and he's wondering if he can file it now or not yet till he meet her in person.

When I got the email I thought it was a mistake as well, you can read the post I created a few days ago. The same day I called the Embassy around this time at 23414603400 and the guy said yes the process has recently changed that k1s no longer bring payment to the interview but pay at the bank and schedule their own interviews like all other non-immigrant visas since the k1 is technically a non-immigrant. Hope this helps




i can now make payment at the bank but does anybody have an idea the max time to be interviewed and the types of questns askd during an interview.

Rily nided to be sure that the info as contained in the packet sent from the embassy wasn't a mistake. Well, I got a call from GTB and the "so nice" lady said she's gona get back to be on Monday morn. Did u actually confirm that the process has changed??? Rily nid to be sure abt this. Hmmm that is a problem. You should probably call the embassy early tomorrow morning and see what they say because thats just ridiculous. Maybe one should take the email and show it to the bank. I dont know. Here are the numbers I got from the embassy info page.(234)-1-261-5697 or (234)-1-261-5699

In case no one picks up any of the first set of numbers, try:
(234)-1-261-0050/0078/0139/0195/1414/6477 THE ABOVE NUMBERS ARE INVALID (IN MY EXPERIENCE) HOWEVER I WAS SUCCESSFUL WITH: (234) 1 460 3400

I just copied the above from the embassy info page on here.

My fiancee and i did call the embassy and we were told to email which we did before we even called. we got an automated reply to the email with frequently asked questions which none was relevant to ours.We will try these numbers again tomorrow.Will keep you posted on our finding.Thanks a lot

Hey Tisheff,

ITs not a mistake as I recieved the same email and I actually called them to make sure if the process has changed for k1 and it did. You have to pay at the bank now and use your receipt # and passport information when logging into the website. You can also call them just to make sure. I have not done mine yet for a different reason but will soon.

Did you go to the bank? if so, What did the bank tell you?

I think there is conflicting information because just weeks ago or last month the old process for k1 was to bring the money to the interview so I guess they havent updated their docs from the packet as the one I got is dated may 2012

If the directive to pay @ the bank to make a schedule is a mistake and I have to pay @ the day of my interview is the right process then ow do I knw or schedule for an interview???

My fiancee and I alrdy got our letter from NVC and the embassy has sent necessary packet for medical and others but I'm so confused as I cannot get to pay the processing fees at the bank directed to make the payment to be able to schedule for an interview. The big question is how do I schedule for my interview if I can't make the payment at the designated bank. Secondly,the consular directed the payment to be made on the day of interview which I think is conflicting already. What's the way out of here as I'm getting weary alrdy.

None of your trips look to long or back to back so you should be fine even without n470.
What I want to suggest is that you cannot apply on May 7th. You can apply 3/5 years -90 days, not 3 months. You can calculate your earliest filing date here:

Hello everyone,

I am in a situation where I need some help and clarification on when can I apply for my citizenship.

I got my GC through my spouse on Aug 7, 2010. I am in Saudia Arabia for work (Engineering) and since today, I have made the following trips:

Trip 1:
10/22/2011 - exited US at 12:00pm
10/25/2011 - entered US at 7:05pm 3 Days out of US.

Trip 2:
03/05/2012 - exited US at 11:00pm
03/23/2012 - entered US at 4:00pm 18 Days our of US.

Trip 3:
09/12/2012
09/14/2012 - Out for 2 Days

Trip 4:
09/26/2012 - Working for a U.S. Company in Saudia
02/04/2013 - Returned to U.S. --- Out for 131

I applied for N-470 on 11/15/12 and it is still pending..

This is what I am planning for future:

Trip 5
02/23/2013 - Working for a U.S. Company in Saudia
04/23/2013 - Enter U.S. --- Out for 41 Days

Apply for citizenship on May 7th, 2013. Do the fingerprints etc.

Last Trip:
06/15/2013 - Leave U.S.
07/15/2013 - Enter U.S.

Stay in the country till I get interview.

All this time I will be working for U.S. Employer, paying taxes in the U.S. Maintaining, house mortgage, car, insurance, cell phone, etc. in the U.S. My spouse and kid is here as well.
These are my questions:
1) Can I apply for U.S. Citizenship on May 7th, 2013?
2) Will there be an issue in applying citizenship?
3) My N-470 is pending. I had an infopass and i was told it is transferred to Service Center, not sure what is going on with it.
3) Any other suggestions?

I would really appreciate your help in this matter.

Im not sure what california filers did, but i think i saw somewhere post that they started contacting uscis or sending letters to their senators, and on igors list i can see that CSC is approving more people, althought there is many filers from ealier not approved or maybe some of them didnt update their timelines.
But still i think we should do that!!!

"I am so tired of how slow vermont is working,
I was thinking that maybe all the people who are still waiting for approval should write letters to their senators to do something about Vermont Service Center. I think if we all start sending the letters then maybe something will change.
