Hello to all of my dear vj family,

2. I am about to attend my seminar at PRISM on Monday. One of the requirement is Immigrant Data Summary. Where can I find this document? I thought, this is included in the packet together with my visa?

God bless star_smile.gif

I called up SMEF-COW(same with PRISM, they give seminars as well) about the Immigrant data Summary, it does not apply for K1 visa holders. It's not included in the packet.

Btw, I read from some forums they have a terrible time attending seminars at PRISM.

PhilippinesWE PASSED THE MEDICAL and so will you!
Magandang araw!

I am a mother of a 6 year old boy who just passed our medical exam last february 9-10.
At first I was really worried about it, fearing they will instantly tell us to finish or extend the treatment even before our medical examintaion starts.

My son was diagnosed with primary complex last august 2008 and undergone treatment early of september, he will be finished tkaing Kidz kit 2 by march 10, 2009.

During the immunization interview the kind doctor asked me about his immunization records and so I presented to her the immunization certificate I secured from my pediatrician. It does not need to be notarized, just made sure the doctor's phone number and the hospital where he holds his clinic was in the certificate in case they double check it.

She told me he will undergo a Tuberculin Skin test, I told her he won't need it anymore because he already has been diagnosed, I showed her the x-ray result and medical certificate that I secured from my pediatric endocrinologist (yes, my son is diabetic also since he was 3 1/2 years old). She counted the months my son has undergone medication and told me he will have undergo xray instead. (The medical certificate had the list of the medicines he was taking, including insulin injections, dosage and duration.)

After we had our physical exam and chest xray, we went home.

February 10, 2009

We came around 11:30 at SLEC, the guard entered my number in the computer and told me I am for immunization, and we had to wait for my son's name to becalled for the next step. I had my immunization done and we waited for quite sometime, after 2 hours, his name was called and we were told he is for immunization (I was amazed by God's intervention). I guess his xray result turned out fine and the medication he was taking everyday (yes, everyday without lapses) worked. We were released and sent home, they said they'll be the one to send our passports and results to the embassy.

CONCLUSION: TO GOD BE ALL THE GLORY! I was doubtful at first about our situation because my son was sick and haven't finished his medication and yet I was humbled by God's sovereignity and power over ALL things. He is ABLE and can do things beyond our control. By the way, at the interview (feb.17) , the pre-screener asked additional evidences, BUT his remarks were disregarded by the consul and the kind old consul considered my evidences and said our visas are approve, no need for additional evidences for him, and he just asked me 3 questions, and it's not even about my son's diabetes or primary complex.

I wanted to share our experience with you guys, to encourage you, when everything seems to lose hope, stay FAITHFUL to God, obey him and submit to him.
Even if you are tempted to lie and do everything in your way, DON'T! For God loves those who obey Him and trust Him, He gives to those who ask and answers to those who call.

A friend of mine suggested for me to lie and tell them my son was not sick, but I refused to lie and told her if it is God's will for us to pass, He will give it to us no matter what our situation is now, I want to be honest because I trust His plans and I believe He is my loving father who only wants the best for me and my son.

Kapatid, God bless you and everything will come to pass.. God holds the time.. He is our a LOVING FATHER.

It does depend why he snores. We got my husband a mouth guard and that has made a world of difference.

Hello Tracy!

Do you need a prescription for the mouth guard?
How much would it cost and where can I find it?
Is your husband comfortable wearing it?

Thank you in advance for your reply. I am very much interested.
God bless smile.gif

I used Breathe Right nasal strip, my husband told me it's working. Guys I'm the one who snore bad not my husband. Before using breathe right my husband used ear plug too. Every morning I asked him if I snore bad so I know how bad it is, but so far after using breathe right every night he didnt use ear plug anymore. It's a flexible spring-like bands gently lift nasal passages open to airflow. His worried this might be a sign of sleep apnea.

Hello! I am very interested where to get these Breathe Right nasal strips, and how much would it cost?
Do you sleep comfortable with it?

PhilippinesMy husband is snoring me to death!!!
Just wanted to share with you guys my experience smile.gif

We have been married for less than a year now..
But I can't get used to my loving husband's snoring..

Sometimes I just want to hit him with the pillow or sleep in the living room away from the eerie sound
I wake him up and tell him to sleep on his side, but sometimes I feel bad about it coz I don't like to disturb his beauty sleep, especially when he had a long day at work. Though he wakes up and he tells me his sorry, and sleeps on his side..

I tried going to bed early too, and wearing ear plugs..
I hope in the future I will get used to it and it will come to a point that I won't be able to go to sleep without hearing his cow-mooing sound like snore lullabye tongue.gif

any tips on this on how u dealt with this kind of situation..

Thank you and God bless to all

Philippineswhy do Pinays
I am married to a Filipino USC but I know one reason from my bestfriend's point of view..She is married to a white guy.

She was a frustrated child star, when we were young she would always attend auditions but always end up in failure.
It's always the mestizo/meztisa who has the edge in reaching stardom, and none for dark skinned kids like her.

Growing up, she wanted to be married to a white guy, as long as he had brown, blue, green or gray eyes so she would have beautiful children.
Her plan is to put her children in auditions to make them models or child actors, to fulfill her longtime dream.

Now she has a 2 year old son from a handsome white guy and we joke about her plans of bringing her son to a modeling agency :P
But her priorities have change a lot, now it's about building a relationship with God, enjoying her husband and kid :)

PhilippinesWhy there are pinays out there who feels so conceited about theirselves once they arrived here in the States?
I've met a lot of filipina women from church. And they share with me some of their experiences. First, the husband himself request her wife to speak english all the time so she will be able to practice more and speak well in the long run, regardless who she was talking too, practice practice practice. Second, the husband does not request but require, because the husband does not want to offend the people around them and with them who can't understand and speak tagalog. Third, the husband feels insecure when her wife speaks tagalog, regardless who they are with, especially when her wife is talking on the phone. I understand how these women go through and why they act this way. Only a secured relationship with God can remove our insecurity.
Without the confidence placed on God, we can never find contentment with our family nor our wordly belongings, for all things and people will pass away.

Some women find their value on the material stuff that they have, not because they want you to feel bad about it, but because they feel good telling it to others. Just like the OP said, a compliment is always appreciated :)
Let's be a little patient with our kababayans who act this way, they may have a deeper problem within them and only through making themselves look good externally alleviate their insecurities. We can't control them but we can certainly control our reactions towards them. God bless us all!

PhilippinesMarried Filipinos who send money to family back in Philippines
QUOTE (jsnearline @ Nov 18 2009, 02:58 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Does the issue of sending money home (or how much you send) cause tension between you and your spouse? If so, how have you tried to resolve it?

What rules do you and your spouse follow regarding remittances (e.g. money only comes from Filipino spouse's pay)?

How do you determine the amount of money you send back to family in Philippines?

How do you distinguish legitimate needs vs. "nice to have"s?

How do you handle emergencies (real and imagined) that come up?

Have you ever cut any family members off financially? If so, why and for how long?

Money will only cause tension for me and my husband if we give and spend beyond our means.

We are honest with my relatives, if we have extra money I send money to them, even if they don't ask us.
I tell them to keep it and buy what is necessary.
But when we don't have extra I tell them also we can't send.

The money to send is determined by the extra money we have, let's say 50 dollars this month.
Then 75 dollars next month.

We have emergency money we keep for ourselves but we can always spare them some, like 100 dollars
and that's it. No more no less.

Yes, cutting of a family member is also advised, especially if the terms of suppport has already been met. (example: helping a sister go to school, when she is finished in her studies, she is on her own, And limit only to 4 years, we will not expect for her to stay in college for 6 or 7 years if she is only taking a 4-year course.)

i don't work yet, and I submit to my husband's decisions when it comes to money matters. he always tell me "if we have extra money, they don't need to ask twice.. and when you're already working the money that you want to send to your family will be all up to you.. for now the priority of what I earn is for this family of ours"

My husband is awesome in many ways.. I respect him for that smile.gif

I have no immediate answers or flippant responses, but....

1. cut the soap bars into 1/8 size back in the workshop, only keep 1 soap cutting in the bathroom.
2. replace all of your dishes with 5 inch tea saucers. Really - ALL OF THEM.

Good Luck !

i definitely agree!

Take Over/ Control the source because you will not be able to beat the habit smile.gif

God bless!
