Asia: East and Pacific	LAND DOWNUNDER	StellaR Im not sure if it still applys but as far as i know you must have a letter from your doctor for any prescription drugs that you bring into america. The chances of you being searched on arrival are slim to none but just in case get that letter otherwise they will take your medication. When i came over for my first visit it was my doctor that told me about the letter. so she did it on doctors letter head and stated the name of medication and that it was required, my name etc..... angela	aussie angel	Female	Australia	2006-06-22 08:21:00

So from the time we lodged the k1 untill my aos was approved was about 11 months i never thought it would be so quick so now a break for a while from immigration. Asia: East and Pacific	LAND DOWNUNDER	Lorelle. If you do happen to be able to take someone with you to your interview they have to wait in the foyer. Nobody is allowed inside the embassy except those that are named on the interview letter that you got. When i had my interview i got to the first stage of security andlots of people had family, friends with them but they all got sent back down stairs. But when you go inside up on the hmm forgotten what floor but if you go towards the window it is a spectacular view gives you something to look at while you wait. hang in there not long now angela	aussie angel	Female	Australia	2006-05-31 18:24:00

If you interview happens to be on a Friday you cant pick it up untill Monday afternoon so instead of paying to stay the extra nights ( unless you have somewhere to stay ) they will post it if you provide the right envelope.... Kath how you going mate im glad the shoulder is coming along quickly no i havent got a job yet havent really look properly yet either lol you must be geting excited now How long till your interview? Asia: East and Pacific	LAND DOWNUNDER	Just a note i have just read in another thread where an aussie got a fine in the mail to her address in aust because she didnt vote in an election i never even thought about removing my name from the electrol roll, I aslo reead i think from matt that if you do your tax retrun and say it is your last one they hit you for extra tax well i went on line and put in my gross for last year and it came up with x amount of tax then i did it again cheching the box saying last tax retrun and the tax was nearly twice the amount so i dont think i will let on it is my last one. i will do my tax on line like always and get the check sent to my old address in tassie then get my daughter to send me the check here, then i will remove my name from the electroll roll just in case they have some way of checking if you are on it just thought id let you all know in case you hadent thought about it angela	aussie angel	Female	Australia	2006-05-24 17:07:00

When i hung up from them i went into a panic, 5 days ######, but it all worked out good luck with it all and on a different note I GOT MY EAD APPROVED ON THE 19 JUNE I GOT AN EMAIL TELLING ME YESTERDAY IM SO EXCITED NOW I CAN GET A JOB AND FEEL HUMAN AGAIN ANGELA	aussie angel	Female	Australia	2006-05-20 12:24:00

When i had my medical done it was easy. he asked all the questions that are on the form you say yes or no to took my blood pressure which was like yours up slightly wasnt a problem. listened to my heart, measured my height, weight, i got on the bed and thought here comes the yucky part but all he did was feel my tummy said your fine. some more questions general chit chat.... one thing he did say was a big help as far as immunisations goes was that i went to my doctor and got a blood test done for chicken pox measeals mumps and tetnus and i took copies of these with me for him to see the results. when my gp gave me the tetnus injection i got this all in writing as well signed dated etc. one of the forms that the doctor signes is your immunisation one i asked him if i could have a copy of it incase the original got lost so i also have that with me now. After i had finished with the doctor he took me out to the nures for my blood test for hiv and cyphillas ( not sure if i spelt that right) the nures had to see my passport then sighn the paper to say yes i am who i say i am she took my blood. Then off to have my xray same thing had to see my passport sighn the paper to say yes it was me. About a week later the doctor posted my all the paper work i needed for my interview including the xray which had been put on to a disk so no big envelope to carry.. Asia: East and Pacific	LAND DOWNUNDER	LORELLE I have just checked on my police certificate i got in September last year and it only has my old married name on it and my birth date I had no problems with it when i had my interview in December. I do remember there being problems with how they are worded and i think from memory it has to state something aboutu fingerprints this is exactly what mine said Does not appear on the disclosable police history or fingerprint record of any Australian State or Territory police service I can remember last year someone having problems with how it was worded im not sure if it was aussie@princess or becky but it is in the archives Angela	aussie angel	Female	Australia	2006-05-03 10:49:00

Asia: East and Pacific	LAND DOWNUNDER	kath im not sure if your process works the same as k1 did but i had to have my blood test done for both of those by the doctor doing the visa medical. there is a form that has to been signed by the person taking the blood to say that they have seen your passport and you are who you say you are. When i went for my medical the doctor did the medical stuff then he took me out to the nurse who took the blood and she had to sign the form as well. After that they sent me for my xray and the same had to be done there. the blood test had to be sent back to the visa doctor so he could fill in the paper work. Asia: East and Pacific	LAND DOWNUNDER	hey Kath well yep it has been bloody freezing here specially of a morning it gets done to like -5 and -6 but the days get up to mid 20 (thats aussie temp) still having trouble converting. I think we have everything ready to send in our aos next week been checking and double checking it all. Got my ssn in my married name. waiting to get my licence but still driving on my aussie one and every so often rudy has to say you planning on driving from that side of the car because i get in the wrong side with the keys lol old habbits hard to brake. but everything is wonderful angela	aussie angel	Female	Australia	2006-02-24 17:20:00
Asia: East and Pacific	LAND DOWNUNDER	StellaR i came through lax in december on a k1 visa and it was a breeze no problems at all i was totaly through and out of the airport with in 1 half hours from the time we landed. also in regards to your vaccinaitions i went to my own gp and got a blood test done to see what i needed and what i didnt i took a print out of the required ones from the ausis site here the only one i need was tetnus so it was done by my gp and all bulk billed i then got the doctor to print out a vaccanition record and a copy of my blood tests and i took them to my medical the doctor at the medical accepted them as proof and filled out the proper from and he also gave me a copy of it as well i got this done well before my medical so i had it all to take hope this helps Karo112 do you have a receipe for pastry for meat pies? or someone lol it just dont seem to work like it does in aus Kath&Rob hows it all going for you i love the pic of the big heart i need to set up that site and put my pics on it to	aussie angel	Female	Australia	2006-02-24 17:06:00
