Congrats! I'm still waiting I would call but I'm sure I'll just be told 30 business days.

One weird possibly promising thing. I saw that you got your invoice so I logged in to check. When I log in to CEAC site the fee payment spot now has no information under applicant. It used to have my name and birthdate and "Not invoiced" but now it is completely blank. Anyone else had this happen? Should I worry?

attachicon.gifScreen Shot 2014-06-25 at 4.27.50 PM.png

My one was like that from start to the day I got invoiced, certainly nothing to worry about

my AOS fee just changed to an unclickable N/A... is this what you guys saw for a CC?

Call, Call, Call!!!  Good luck, keep us posted

3 to 6 weeks from when?

It's 3 weeks from arrival in the US.  Here's the SS pages with more info.  Just note that it makes reference to the DS-230, however the DS-260 replaces that for the IR1/CR1 process.  There is an option to select towards the end regarding social security cards.

You may also find this interesting, it details what an employer needs to do if you hire someone who hasn't yet received their SS#/Card

When will she receive your SSN?

I think it's 3-6 weeks providing it's requested in advance on the DS-260.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNVC Filers - June 2014

My wife has a job waiting for her with a start date of Sept. 15th.  When I sent in our AOS and DS-260 in early Arpil, I though she would for sure have a green card by Sept. 15th.  That was before they lost my original AOS, then I had to resend AOS on May 22nd and now still waiting for them to upload and review.  Ridonkulus!  Anyway, I have a supervisor review working on it and I've requested expeditious service.  But starting to get worried that my wife will potentially lose her job if she doesn't have green card in time.

I posted something about this into the NVC filers - May 2014 forum, but this might help put your mind at ease (a little), your wife is authorized to work when she lands, her visa is a temporary green card and her employer can file a form a few weeks after her hire date when she receives her SS#

Aos scanned May 22 and Iv scanned june 22.. when should i expect case complete...

Well the NVC would tell you 30 business days, but in reality it's taking 4-5 weeks for them to process, so your AOS should be under review now, if not already reviewed and the IV docs approx 1 month + from june 22

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNVC Filers - June 2014

I called on Friday (which was 30 days) and was told that they were working on May 20th and that I should hear sometime this week. I figured I would give them until Wednesday before I called again.

Remember it's 30 BUSINESS days, which (if there are no holiday's) is 6 weeks.

So all this "working weekends" is BS? I thought this would speed them up not slow them down. They seem to have been on the 18-20th May for document review forever!

As far as I'm aware there was only the 1 Saturday worked on May 31st to make up for the holiday May 26th

The last Saturday that saw any action was the Saturday after Memorial Day. They're not working OT and they're not working Saturdays. I think these phone Agents sometimes tell callers what they want to hear. Although, it's rare lately that someone reports in here that an Agent said NVC is working OT.

They have definitely slowed to a crawl. It took my 53 days to clear NVC and I had no check list.

I remember the forums were inundated that Saturday and Monday with people who had received emails on the Saturday and when people called on the Monday were told they had case complete on the Saturday so I'm pretty sure this was the only weekend worked, as I've not seen anyone else having weekend activity since, but perhaps I've missed this.

Hi NVC waiters, today I called for the 2nd time. The first time I called was June 12th, where they said they received our petition on May 21st (it was approved and sent to NVC on May 7th i think). They told me it would take 30 business days from the 21st. I called again today and now they are saying it will take 30 business days from when they started processing it on June 12th ***the day i called initially! What should we do next? I was told by the representative that when things are ready to be filled out online, that we will get an email instructing us to our next step. Have others gotten the same advice?

I was able to get a case number and IIN today thankfully. My husband lives in Japan and will move back to his home country of France at the end of July. We were hoping that he would get an interview by july so that we could do that in Japan, but it is not looking likely since NVC is moving so slowly.

I did receive an email the day the DS-261 and AOS fee was available.  I also received an email for the IV fee.  I understand you will also get an email for a checklist (real or false).  The only time I call is to find out the date they scanned my package, if there's any updates they can provide me in general, and I'll be checking for Case Complete when the time comes.

Ds-261 unlocks Iv fees not receipt and approval of AOS docs...correct?

Thats correct.  Remember the date you submitted it might not be the date they are showing as receiving it, you would need to call to confirm that detail.

Neither can I like omg soon enough I will be admitted to a mental institution. I have the money and all my documents ready like I am so near to finish everything but yet so far. I will keep you posted. Hows your stuff going?

I'm just waiting for my AOS checklist (and it better be a false one!!!!)  to come through this week, then I can relax until they start processing June 17th s that's when my IV and DS-260 were scanned.

All the calling machines got a CC, NVC needs the next generation to start dialing!

Seriously, as of Friday night, they were on the 22nd. My guesstimate is they'll hit the 23rd tomorrow?

Since they seem to be doing batches of 3-4 days at a time, can we say they will start on 23rd - 28th tomorrow?  That way my AOS from 27th can be reviewed lol.  Sorry, being selfish for once  :clock:

Still no IV fee. Next week the 30 days will be up like come on NVC get it together.

I can't believe you are still waiting!!!  Rumor has it they are working on 19th-22nd so any day now you will get the invoice soon.  Remember that your "scan" date isn't always the date you submitted it, for me it was the next business day, but that would still mean May 22nd so hopefully you'll hear something today.

It seems that on Friday they were working on packages anywhere from the 19-22 June. So, you should be soon... good luck! ??

Do you mean 19-22 May?

I noticed your AOS checklists were scanned May 27th, that's the date they scanned my AOS, so hopefully we'll hear something in the next day or two, assuming they will move onto 23rd today then 24/25 May was the weekend and 26 May was a holiday, so 27th is the next business day.  Fingers crossed!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNVC Filers - June 2014

Thanks :) but how come they haven't received our case until now? It's been 17 days since uscis shipped it :(

Take a look at my timeline, was about 5 weeks for them to receive it.  USCIS send files out in the batches, they will say it's been sent when in fact it's been placed in a box.  It will arrive at the NVC but they won't say it's received until they scan it, it's not that it actually takes that long to send it.  Yours could still be at USCIS, or in transit, or at the NVC waiting on someone to scan it.

I am so sorry for probably a stupid obvious question but i cant seem to figure this out. Some of the forms from nvc have alien registration number and i am really not sure what mine is or if i even have one yet. i have tried searching but i must not be searching for the answer right. If anyone could help i would greaty appreciate it so nervous about making mistakes on these dang paapers and making this nightmare process take even longer.

My A# was on my NOA2, above beneficiary name.

Hi all

It has been 6 day's since i got my daughters case & inn # 's , i try to log on to the ceac site  to start the process with the choice of agent or pay the aos fee but no luck. It is there but greyed out . I cant do anything.

Sayilin's Wiki says that it takes about a week , but i have seen other peoples timeline and most  our 2 ,3 days after the case # has been assigned . If i cant get in tomorrow  , should i start calling nvc ?

It wouldn't hurt to call, but you might just get told to wait 30 business days, so be prepared for that response.  Mine only took a couple of days, but I've heard of people waiting longer.  Fingers crossed you can complete the DS-261 and pay the AOS fee soon!

if anything will change @CEAC then i'm gonna call, if not ... waiting those 30 business days

sad but true, life is so unfair!!!

Yes to everything you write, even if in slightly different form on my end. I find myself wanting to look forward to the making of a home (especially to cheer me up) but it's fairly pointless while we're in purgatory here.

It would be hard to know your home has been kind of repurposed like yours has. I'm sorry about that :( maybe you can think of ways to give it a fresh start (when it's time)--things like a good steam clean on the rug, new paint, and maybe a special set of glasses to commemorate your new home together.

The book is a fabulous idea. I'm positive it would sell. And yes, Saylin should consider this! :)

After painting both bathrooms myself, I'm not picking another pain brush up again lol.  It's fine, husband doesn't know it yet, but he's getting Scottish decor pasted in every room.  tartan galore ROFL

We can relate on the "when". I'm financially maintaining an empty house we bought! And, we have stuff here to seal up, sell, etc. I wish very much to be back for Christmas, but getting flights last minute (e.g. If we ultimately have a Nov approval...it seems to be headed there) is so pricey. It's just small stuff like that that adds up. The hardship to US citizens and their families is nuts.

My husband thinks I should run for office on an immigration reform platform. Lol.

Yes, my husband keeps signing up, paying and booking us into events, concerts, and vacations.  His meaning are so heartfelt, he wants something for us to look forward to when I get back, but I got excited about the first activity, the time came and he went with someone else, so he booked another, and another, and another.  I told him to stop booking things.  I get excited about them, then I have to watch him doing the activity with someone else.  It's not a jealousy thing, if he said to me that he and a friend were doing xyz then I'm so happy for him, it's difficult to get excited about something we are doing together for it not to happen.  In the meantime, we have a family member staying with us longterm (pre-planned when we moved into the new house last year) but I have only been there a month, he moved in 1 week after I left and has been there for the past 6 months so I feel gutted that my husband moved out of his house for me (as I felt his house wasn't "home" for me, I wanted us to choose a place together) so we could set up home together and I told him that I feel the new place isnt' going to feel like home because he and our family member have been living there for so long now.  It's horrendous that spouses should be subjected to such crazy timeframes apart.  All I want to do is visit for a few weeks, but last time I was in the states, I was told a file had been noted against my passport/esta and I can't go back to the states without a visa.

In other news, my husband wants to write a book on this process.  I think it would sell, but feel Saylin and Dwheels should have the first offer of writing the book lol

Anybody approved after May 20th get a case number yet?

Not too sure about case numbers but they are working on docs received from 20th by the looks of things.

I feel for so many of you separated from your spouses. I am not, so my antsiness is more about wanting to leave his country NOW, but for hose of you separated from your spouse, I am sorry for the extra hardship you endure. To go through that and finish with your sanity in tact is no small thing!

Thanks so much, it's lovely to hear how everyone appreciates everybody's different situations.  I feel bad because we took a new house together which I'm not living in (in the states) and in the meantime I'm living with friends.  It's difficult, and as much as I sometimes think "if only we were together it would be great" it wouldn't.  If we were in our house together it would be but not somewhere else.  The biggest part of my stress is not knowing WHEN it will all happen, so for both of you going through that, it must be tough.

USCIS Service CentersInsufferably incompetent

It amazes me how people try to interpret an agency. Not one person out here who isn't on the inside of this organization can make foolish statements on how or why applications get processed. It is pure speculation based on very few samples with a small number of statistics of filiers who have decided to join this forum.

Until you are sitting in the meetings of the people that head this organization you have no idea how the process works and neither do I. As long as I have been in this forum the process, the people, the questions and the order of which applications are processed is relvolving. The same comments made today are the same comments made five years ago.

Everyone thinks they are standing in a line at Disneyland and they get to get on the ride next and everyone wants to be just as important as the next person. I salute you for a great reply JA_Martinez. To label the USCIS "Insufferably incompetent" is only because your patience is thin. the process does and will happen. Then you will never have time to be here whining again

Good Luck!

National Visa Center (Dept of State)Big Problem!USEM!!!!

Gosh I have been following this thread and what an administrative mess --- The center did everything they were supposed to based on your address but made a mess for you guys in the process. One of my clients is an immigration attorney and he said that once the file makes it to the original country you can certainly get it transferred but it's going to take some time. They don't just send it over there they wait until they have a few as a batch and then package them over from what he was telling me.He didn't know about just going ahead and having the interview in Jakarta but didn't think it was a problem as OFW's have interviews at the US Embassy in different countries constantly. As long as your information is correct and you answer the questions correctly he felt you would be fine. Remember - It doesn't matter about the location of the embassy, once you are inside the grounds it is basically like you are on US soil. He suggested that you get together on an Indonesian forum inside of VJ and consult with women who are migrating here from that country. He also advised me that there is no CFO requirement if you are living outside the Philippines already. However; If you return to the Philippines after your interview you will need the stamp. This is the free advise I got -- dancin5hr.gif

National Visa Center (Dept of State)NVC Funny Quote -

While I was speaking to an officer at the NVC he passed on a little joke that makes sense. While I always think that these people are trying to help you whenever they can it's just a government bureaucracy that has slow moving wheels:

"Just remember that we have an unspoken creed here at the NVC - Whenever we reward you that means you get to write us a check in return."

As I think of the process, it's so very true too.

I'm kind of new here, even though my K1 Visa process journey is leading to an end, I'm having some issues that I'll state here.
