My appointment took so long than we expected. I already paid all the visa fees for me and my son (k2). And the availability of the appointment is on April 21, 2014. I don't know if we can still have an earlier appointment since we are planning to spend our son's birthday on Jan. 14, 2014 at Disneyland that we promised to. sad.png

 

unfortunately you are stuck with this plan - you are not the first to do this. I have seen many non-refundable flights get cancelled. Don't forget ... It takes 4 more weeks to get the K2 Visa (yours is delivered in a matter of days).

It took 30 minutes finally get a human being. They asked me my case number, then asked if I had received my notice of approval. I said no, I got this other email instead. And she said that we were apporved 08/12/08 and that our case was at the NVC. (YAAYYYYY!!!!!!)

She then explained that there had been a computer glitch in which the approval notices had neither been mailed nor emailed.

So I do not know what to tell you all. Hopefully you are approved, and just do not know yet. I pray this is the case for you.

I also know that the system seems to be majorly jacked right now.

Dude, it's over 4 moths for us. Have never even been touched since NOA1 date. We've dated in the US for a year, when I stayed there as an Au Pair, so we have plenty of evidence. Now, do you think WE should get worried?

We got approved on Nov 13th.
NVC mailed the file to Kiev on Nov 19th (less than a week!)
Embassy received on the 21st (according to DHL tracking thing). I called them on Dec 1st, they were ready to schedule the interview and offered... Dec 8th(!) That was way to close. We were thinking early Jan. But they didn't have a schedule for Jan yet.
Called again today and made an appointment for Jan 12th. Almost my B-Day (the 14th smile.gif )
Oh yeah, passed the medical on Dec 4th.

Its going good! Everything seems to be moving forward now. I just called the NVC and were through that stage and shipped off to Sydney as of yesterday.

I've finished my papers (affidavit of support) mailed those off Monday, we ordered the police certificate, now we are just waiting on packet three. I sent off a provisional file request (at some consulates you can fax this request off so they send the paperwork out before they receive the paperwork from the NVC), so hopefully he will get those sooner then normal.

Were trying to hurry things along because we were planning to have me attend the interview as well. I'm really hoping we can time this around Christmas so that we can spend the holidays together as well as have the interview. So it means we are basically looking at trying to time the interview around 4 weeks between dec 15 - jan 9. I really hope it works out!

Most cases seem to be touched twice:
1. once when they are approved
2. the next day when then send the app off to NVC

How does one find out what field office in California the case is at?


I might have brought in some confusion here by mentioning Laguna Niguel. What I meant was that thats where the CSC is located, the address where you mail the petition.
As for the local office - no idea!
