I hope so! CSC received my RFE on Feb. 14th. Hopefully they don't delay the decision for too long!

I'm waiting on our RFE letter so we can see what evidence we need to submit.  Do you mind if I ask what evidence you were required to submit?

While we are waiting we have pulled together a file with pretty much everything we can think of so we have no delay in responding to the RFE.

Calling an american number rom the UK is free ?

I have a skype subscription, you can take them on a rolling month by month contract.  With this I receive free UK landline/fixed line calls, US & Canada land/fixed line calls as well as mobile/cells.

Given that yesterday we were on the phone for 2 hours 45 minutes to USCIS, you'd probably spend more money in Skype's pay as you go credit than you would taking a subscription for 1 month.

The beauty of this is that I can dial these numbers from either my laptop or my cell phone and I don't have to worry about costs because it's paid up front (I actually paid 1 year up front which benefited me a discount). And best of all I can call by US husband when I'm in the UK and call my UK friends and family when I'm in the US,

So it appears that our file has been dusted off an someone has looked at it.  That's the good news.

The bad news is we got RFE.  Perhaps someone would be kind enough to update the spreadsheet for me?

We put in an SR as we are outside of processing times but still within the 60 days since transfer to CSC.  Has anyone seen any positive outcomes from raising an SR?  Worried that we are "put on hold" until someone checks the SR then they say "it's not been 60 days, get to the end of the line"

It's really disheartening to see so many people who filed after us getting approved before us.  Obviously I'm happy for everyone who has been approved but from a personal level I feel like the case has been lost in a pile in some closet or something.

Hey guys, I'm getting a little worried. We got transfered to CSC on Jan 8th and we haven't heard anythign from them. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that we're a same sex couple. I don't know really.

Oh and congrats on all the approvals! smile.png

Good luck lorenalen,

we are same sex couple too, I don't think that's going to be an issue for the CSC, but I do imagine that after DOMA was repealed that many same sex LDR couples will have applied around the same time, so it's probably more to do with a large caseload that we are being left hanging.

Interestingly enough, there are May and June filers who are still waiting and when my OH called the USCIS they said they are processing May 13th applications.  I really hope we don't have to wait another 6-8 weeks!!!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsJuly 2013 I-130 Filers

I usually expect to see notices from USCIS first thing in the morning.  However, it appears that today, a real human being picked up my petition.

I got the "Your Alien Registration Number has been changed...." notification!

Last Friday, a June filer got this message on Friday, and was approved the next Monday.  Here's hoping the same thing happens.

I actually straddle the month - I applied on June 27, got notice of receipt on June 28, but my POA date is July 1st.  So I am posting on both the June and July forums!

So...this is 30 days from transfer to TSC.  And again, it just means a human picked up the file and assigned a number to it...

I could either get approval, or an RFE.  We'll see!

Susan

Good luck, just a word of caution however, I got the same notice from CSC on Jan 15th and got all excited as most people seem to imply that means you will get your NOA2 or RFE, but I'm still waiting.  It caused me a great deal of sleepless nights as, being in the UK, the notifications usually come through during the night but I found myself checking the USCIS website every hour through the night.

That being said, I lot of people do get their NOA2 or RFE following an ARN change so I wish you all the luck in the world and hope you get your approval.  Meantime, I'm back into a regular sleeping pattern and checking the site every morning and throughout the evening, but not through the night wink.png

Hi everyone,

Up until now I've been a silent follower, but thought I'd introduce myself and to ask if someone could kindly populate my info on the July filers spreadsheet.

I'm in the UK at the moment.  My husband is USC.  We filed our I-130 at the end of June but receipt/priority date was July 3rd so we are patiently awaiting our outcomes along with the rest of you.

Here's my timeline:

I-130 received 3rd July 2013

I-129f received 19th August 2013

I-129f change of address received 24th November 2013

I-130 change of address received 7th December 2013

I-130 transfer notification 1 - 7th Jan 2014

I-129f transfer notification 1 - 7th Jan 2014

I-130 transfer notification 2 - 8th Jan 2014

I-129f transfer notification 2 - 8th Jan 2014

I-130 transfer to CSC complete - 10th Jan 2014

I-129f transfer to CSC complete - 10th Jan 2014

I-130 Alien registration number changed - 15th Jan 2014

Needless to say I've been on edge since I got the last notification on the 15th Jan.  My husband called and spoke to a Tier 1 but they refused to transfer to a T2, just saying that we are still within processing times for both cases.

Good luck everyone

I submitted my DS261 on may 28 for my another case and still no IV fees invoiced.Did you get your IV fees?

Just to clarify, the date you submit the DS-261 and the date is shows in their system isn't always the same.  For me it was the next working day.  That being said it looks like they are reviewing 23rd May - 30th May at the moment.  They seem to spend a few days reviewing a specific date range so some people on or after your date might see movement on their case before you, but don't panic about that.

ColGilMaleScotland2014-06-27 10:46:00
IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNVC Filers - June 2014

people at nvc is saying different things, before the lady said they received our case June 2nd, after two weeks my husband called and they gave home our case number and invoice number. we tried accomplishing ds261 but it says we cannot process coz the numbers don't match blabla.... then I called today the lady was friendly but she said they received our case June 19 and we need to wait 30 more days, my husband will be coming home for our first year anniversary and it makes me feel bad to think that he will be leaving me again in the airport. what should we do? how often should we call nvc now?

They do email when the AOS invoice and DS-261 are available.  I've heard of people having luck getting into the site before the email, I did, but only a couple of mins before the email so think it was just coincidence I logged in when I did.  If you are getting error messages, this is normal (checks Saylin's wiki for more detail on the first post in this thread).  If you wanted to double check the Invoice number I'd just call back each day and say that you think you've been given an incorrect case or invoice number can they please confirm it.  Some of them don't like giving out the Invoice number over the phone though.  Whatever you do, make sure they have both your email addresses so you both get notified of the AOS invoice and DS-261 form.

Oh, one last thing, your case number and Invoice number will be on that email.

Checklist was scanned 5 jun and today morning they told me that they opened my response and now its under review

That would be pretty sweet if they are reviewing packages up to the 5 jun as that would imply they are starting to clear the backlog.

Just a word of caution (and I really do hope it's being reviewed, as I don't want to be bursting any bubbles) I called and was told my AOS and IV were under review the day after my IV packet was scanned.  I asked if this meant someone was physically looking at it now and she told me "of course, that's what review means."  I called back and someone else told me that docs are put into a status of review until they are assigned to someone, so no-one was physically looking at my files.

Good luck though.

What date did they scan your returned checklist?  Did they tell you when it's been in review since?  They are working on 23rd - 30th May (approx) at the moment.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNVC Filers - June 2014

I agree, if I had the foresight to know how long this process would take, I would have definitely kept a blog or at least a journal. When I started this process 12 months ago, I didn't have my head around the whole process and thought it would be about 6 months, boy was I wrong!  I also thought getting our I-130 approved would get us the green card.  Jokes on me!  After 10 months of waiting, there is a whole other step called the NVC!  Wish I had stumbled upon VJ long before I did, I would have been prepared.

I love your grandmother's quote, so cute.

We were exactly the same.  We filed our I-130 on June 28th 2013, so figured we'd have the approval at the end of November, interview in December. Like you we didn't realize there was an NVC stage.  When we didn't have approval in November, then December, then January, I started to worry and it was around this time I noticed the NVC stage.  I told my husband and he freaked saying it can't be true, I must have missed something.  Both our hearts sank when we understood this was only the first step of a very long process.  Anyway, we are nearing the end now!!!

Thanks it was a breeze, I am at the last part. Am I supposed to put yes for both questions?

I am stuck at the social security part

Do you want the Social Security Administration to issue a Social Security number and a card?

Do you authorize disclosure of information from this form to the Department of Homeland Security, the Social Security Administration, and such other U.S. Government agencies as may be required for the purposes of assigning you a social security number (SSN) and issuing you a Social Security card and do you authorize the Social Security Administration to share your S?

I see lots of people have answered and you have already submitted so instead I'll say:  Yaaay!  Now it's just waiting on CC!!!

Dumb question: how do we find out when our packets have been scanned? I have searched all over the CEAC site and haven't been able to find anything.

Also, it seems like someone at NVC entered my address incorrectly into their system, and it is spelled so wrong that there is no way any mail will be delivered to my actual address. What's the best way to fix this?

You won't find out unless you call.  They have different terminology though, they used to say "received" now they seem to say "reviewed."  Also they can't tell which documents were scanned/received/reviewed, only that something has been.

This should be covered on the DS-261, to be honest, they don't actually snail mail anything, choosing instead to email.  Call and make sure they have both petitioner and beneficiary email addresses so you can be notified together of any invoices and progress etc.

So i paid IV june 20th and i sent out the forms june 26th. i would like to know how longer do i have to wait to get my interview date????? please help me!!!

I seem to be answering this question on a daily basis, have you read any posts in this thread and/or people's timeline signatures?  They are taking approx 4 weeks to review docs, so providing you have already sent in your AOS docs separately then 4 weeks from the date they scan your docs into the system (which is taking approx 1 week from the docs arriving in the building) you will likely get either a checklist or case complete.  You'll then need to wait however long it takes to get an interview, it varies.  The best way of keeping up with the date range they are working on is to read the posts in this thread.  People have recently said that documents from 23rd May through to 30th May have been reviewed, so this is likely the date range they are working on at the moment.  The NVC may start to work faster than 4 weeks, or (God forbid) they may slow down, so it's important to follow theses threads if you want to have a true indication.

:ot:   Since NVC is now closed for the day and nobody will be calling for several hours, I was thinking of a way to pass time.  There are some amazingly witty writers here on VJ and I love stumbling across anyone with a blog.  My favourite so far is the one by bdrew612. It has kept me laughing througout this ridiculous gauntlet. If you have time, give it a read!!!  http://thelonelynewl....wordpress.com/  I hope this link works and bdrew612 won't mind me sharing!

If anyone else has a blog to share about NVC or immigration please share!  It makes me feel better to read other people's stories to know I am not alone :ot2:

I'm a newcomer to bdrew's blog but I find it so inspirational.  There is a lot of truth in there.  I wish I'd been focussed enough to write a blog, but I didn't expect this process to last this long, so I didn't start one, and fear it's too late to start one now.

On the subject of wit, I'll say goodnight on a phrase my late grandmother used to say whenever I cracked a joke:

"If you are as $#itty as you are witty, you'll be in a heck of a mess!"  Good night, God bless, Good luck to all.

Hi ColGil,

I understand that all questions in this form should be answered from the beneficiary's perspective, but it makes no sense and the option to which i should select I'm still confused. Beneficiary, who is my husband will be immigrating with me in the US and the question is being asked about the current wife, who is me/petitioner already living in the US.

Oh my goodness, this should be such a simple task and questions are asked in so complicated way that makes no sense at all!!

Please help!!!

So your husband won't be immigrating "WITH" you, he'll be immigrating "TO BE WITH" you.  They are wanting to know if anybody who is not a US resident or citizen at the moment will be moving the US with your husband, specifically his spouse.  You won't be immigrating to the US as you already live there so the answer to that question is No.

Your will have already have listed your home address as the address your husband will live in when he enters the US, so when it asks which address your spouse will live at, you will select "the address I plan to live at" (sorry can't remember the exact wording).

Hope this helps.  Take a look at the exemplar the NVC have provided if you are still unsure though http://travel.state....60 Exemplar.pdf

Soloenta, you have been plagued with problems throughout this entire process!  Have you considered getting congress person involved?  It's shocking that people wait as long as most of us have, but your case is really not fair.  I see all these people from September I-130 filing getting their Case Completes, and, while I'm happy they get theirs all I want to do is shout "We filed in June, where's out Case Complete?" Then I realize you filed in March, not that USCIS or NVC will recognize that, but still.  That's been 15 months.

Let's all start a petition to get Soloenta and all those who have waited over 12 months Case Complete now!!!

Hi guys. My wife sent aos packet on 9 June and nvc received it on 12 as per usps tracking. I m still not able to pay 4 invoice. How much time it will take for this. Please suggest

When did you submit the DS-261?  It's taking approx 4 weeks at the moment from that date.  If you have a lawyer then you should receive the IV and AOS fee's at the same time.

I left VJ after I got the damn checklist because I couldn't handle it, but I've come back because I can relax (a little) and say that today we got case complete. Waiting on the interview date now.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

I submitted mine May 28 Th and nothing yet. :(

Just spoke to Jeff, nice guy said my AOS has been scanned, my tracking says they received it on the 12Th of June they say the 25 Th and scanned

in on the 30 of Fing June.  Also that my IV fees should be ready in a Fing week or two. DS-261 was sent on the 28Th of May.  :ranting: :ranting: :ranting: :ranting: :ranting: :ranting: :ranting: :ranting: :ranting: :ranting: :ranting: :ranting: :ranting: :ranting: :ranting: :ranting: :ranting:

You must be very lucky! My DS261 was reset to 28 May and I still can't pay the  IV invoice.... :(

Glad for you though! Hopefully the journey will be fast for you!

I'm sorry to hear you haven't got your IV invoices yet.  From my time in the NVC forums, I've noticed that the NVC typically work with 3-4 days of docs at a time.  I've seen posts today alone of people ranging from May 23rd thru May 30th (remember 3 days of those aren't business days) which means they are potentially working through 5 days worth of activity at the moment.  I've been waiting on May 27th review of my AOS docs, which I know (providing no checklist) doesn't trigger any other activity, but it seems that all of us waiting through this date range will hear something in the next few (business) days.

Best luck and wishes to you all.

I agree with the comment about techology. My husband and I were separated while we were engaged and were in the immigration process for me to come to Australia. We are talking 12 years ago and calling was super expensive and there was no Skype. We relied a lot on letters and cards and he even sent me VIDEOS he recorded showing me the apartment he got for us and other things. I am not talking a video from a smart phone and emailed, I mean a camcorder on a video cassette mailed! ha ha

It was hard, but we made it and looking back is sounds romantic. I still have those letters and videos and they are such sweet memories.  Everyone remember in this day and age of Skype to take the time to write a love letter to your spouse. How wonderful is it receiving mail that is not a bill these days.

I must admit, when I crack the joke about no immigration and sailing across the atlantic, I do sometimes forget how recent most of the technology is.  It's a testament to your relationship to have gone through that in a time when the technology wasn't there.  I always assume that we make the most of the communication methods we have.  I imagine a time in the future when instead of skype we have holograms "a la Stars Wars" and people are saying "I don't know how people did this when video was in 2 dimensions!!!

EDIT:  sorry hit "post" too soon, I meant to write this!!!

In the meantime, here's a great site for long distance relationships http://www.lovingfro...ouplestodo.html

I did the telegram (#94) and my husband just loved it.  He still has it on the wall in his (home) office.  http://www.telegramstop.com/ which your letters remind me of.

My husband and I have said in the past that we don't know if we could have survived if we didn't have the techology we do today.  Could you imagine if phones, computers, internet etc didn't exist and you could only communicate by mail???  On saying that, in those days you could just turn up somewhere and get citizenship so we'd only have the journey across the atlantic to worry about

thanks to both of you!!

ANOTHER QUESTION regarding current spouse, I'm not sure which one to choose for "Spouse's Address" field..it gives be 4 options - same as present, same as intended US address, DO NOT KNOW, Other -specify.

The funny thing is I'm the petitioner and I am already living in the US...and when I click on either of those options, the last question appears asking - is your spouse immigrating to US with you? Well I'm already in the US..how do i answer that, whether i check Yes or No...it's still a wrong question and answer will be obviously wrong...please suggest!! thanks

So, you need to think as the beneficiary here.  Let me give you it from my point of view and how I filled these questions out....

Is your husband a UK citizen and immigrating with you?  NO.  Why?  My husband isn't a non-US citizen so he's already living there, so is not immigrating with me.

Which address does your spouse live at (considering your spouse might not live in the USA) - Same a YOUR present address in the UK?  No.  Same as the intended US address? Yes (I'm going to move in with him, which is why I'm moving to this address.

So I think you would answer, No to the first question and Same as the intended US address for the second.

Remember this form is also used for Diversity Visa applicants so the questions have to be slightly ambiguous.

Edit:  Remember that the DS-260 is intended to be completed by the beneficiary, not the petitioner.  Although the petitioner is allowed to complete it, ALL questions should be answered from the beneficiary's perspective.

Hello everyone!

Filling out D260 at the moment... question about the time my husband started living at the current address...well he has been living there since 1992...and he doesn't recall the month...but in D260 month and year is needed...what should I do...any suggestions?

thanks

Please do not quote me on this and take this as qualified advice until I get a case complete, but I was in the same situation (I'm the beneficiary) and I've moved around a lot.  I can't quite remember the exact month I moved into all my past addresses, but I just estimated the closest possible date and made sure my end date of one address and the start date of the next address were the same.

On hold with the NVC, that's 38 mins in.  Was 55 mins last time.  They are crazy busy.  Husband just messaged me asking if this is the dance I do when I get through to them ROFL  http://deadspin.com/...dium=socialflow

OK Now I don't know whether to angry, sad, or excited...

Just called again because my something inside me told me too...

This time I spoke with Rick, very nice guy, said a supervisor reviewed my checklist response and that I will be getting another checklist in my email for leaving the same Part 3 Number 9 bank...Which I know for a fact I did not. My checklist response I put "N/A" in every single blank spot.

I was allowed to speak with a supervisor who was a total jerk and did not give his name. I was told that I need to put my same address there NOT just "N/A". He also told me that it would be another 6 weeks after they scanned the response. He also said that they would not complete the case and allow me to return the corrected document upon the interview.

This makes a grown man want to cry! So looks like I'm calling my senator once again!!! Good luck everyone, they started working on May 28th scans today.

shocked-smiley-emoticon.gif WOW!!!  I'm so sorry to hear this.  I think you should call and speak to supervisors every day.  Their instructions say leave it blank, they checklist saying to put N/A, now they checklist you again when it's THEIR instructions which aren't clear.  OMG, I'm so shocked by this.

oh my gosh! I just checked for kicks (figuring no one with scan dates of 27 May have been reviewed yet) and the affadavit of support fee says "N/A"!!!!

OH GOSH! I'm so excited and calling RIGHT NOW!

Do let us know how you get on.  My fingers are crossed for you.  good-luck-emoticon.gif

From a selfish standpoint, I'm hoping this means my AOS is being reviewed (scan date of 27 May too) .  praying-to-god-smiley-emoticon.gif

Invoived! Finally!

Now once I can fill out my DS-260, I can get back to more waiting... :P

This wait is so difficult.  If you are anything like me, you will feel so helpless.  Do everything in your power to push it to the back of your mind for a couple of weeks.  Good luck!

Do you by any chance have a smart phone, I know they are expensive but can't be as much as calling from Pakistan there is a app/program you can download to it that calls are free.  If you have one of these phone depending on which one I have a search that will show you which one to download depending on what phone/cell you have.  My husband purchased one for $160 but we will be able to talk all day and night if we wish for free. :D  Please consider this option.

There are lots of great technological tools these days.  I have a Skype subscription to the US.  It doesn't cost too much each month, but I paid around $100 for a 12 month subscription.  I can call UK landlines and US cells & landlines at no extra cost. I use this to call my husband at home, or the NVC.

Another option which is free is to use facebook messenger on your cell phone.  It will come out of your data allowance, or home wifi if you have your phone connected, but it's free cell to cell calls anywhere in the world.

Hey, I looked in the NVC Wiki and did not see a link to print out the old DS-230 to practice for the DS-260. Do you have a link for that? :)

Was going to post the link, but see a few others have done so already, also Saylin has updated the Wiki (Thanks Saylin!)

Hi all Vjs
I need ur help
Our lawyer sent out iv docs & aos on 7th June but nvc says they don't received any docs from our side.

now what should we do?
our lawyer said he sent out all things...
I m so worried...

Does your lawyer have delivery receipt/signature?  They do take some time for it show as received on their system, but not this long.  Definitely speak to the lawyer and ask for proof of delivery.

Doc scan date means what?
they received our docs or reviewed docs ?

Scan date is the date they receive the document into the system (usually a week or so after its physically received in the building).  They will tell you the docs are being reviewed, so asked them to clarify if this means waiting to be reviewed or under review, for clarification.

Hey hi all

I am in bit of confusion can somebody please help me with it...I send my ds-261 on 10th june and aos package send on 15th june,my iv fee is not invoiced yet...

Can somebody please tell me how long would it take to get the iv fee invoiced and how long will it take for case complete after sending the iv package..

Thanks!

It's taking about 4 weeks from the DS-261 to receiving IV invoice.  They are currently processing everything (including DS-261's) from 23rd May give or take a few days.

Once you've paid the IV fee you can print off the cover sheet and send your docs.  Once the IV payment changes from in process to paid, you can complete the DS-260.  Once they scan in your IV packet, considering no Checklists for AOS or IV (other than false ones) start counting case complete from there.  Like I say, at the moment it's approx 4 weeks, but that can change, either faster or slower.  If you keep an eye on what activity it happening on this thread you can have an indication on when to expect movement on your case.  For example, someone today mentioned that they had docs approved from May 23rd.  I'm waiting on docs being reviewed from May 27th.  Since 24th, 25 and 26th were weekend and federal holiday, I know that 27th is next.  My last scan date was Jun 17th so I have to wait a bit more time before I can dream of Case Complete.

YES it was the best feeling in the world seeing the IV fee showing up  lol I been waiting and counting the days and seconds.  I have copies of I-130 perhaps I will use that as my guide and will mail out the documents tomorrow. I have everything except proof of relationship which my husband has all the pictures of us and other things in the D.R, I don't need to send those now right? I was planning on taking it to the interview instead.

How many pages does the DS-260 have?

You would have submitted proof of relationship to the USCIS though?  If they needed more, they would have sent an RFE.  We had to do that.  You should be able to print off the cover page and send in your supporting documents now.  Then the DS-260 will be available as soon as the fee show's paid.

There's quite a few sections.  I prepared by completing the DS-230 and printing it off, I had this sitting next to me while I completed the DS-260 but there's more detail required in the DS-260, so it took me about 90 mins to complete.

BOOOO!!  I wish they would hurry up already!!!

Shouldn't be too much longer, seems they have started on 23rd and they seem to do them in batches of 3 or 4 days at a time.  If they do then you should expect to hear something within the next few business days.  Good luck
