i have submitted IV fees today......should i send IV package now or after i submit DS-260???  DS-260 is not available online yet..... and my IV fees status is  coming like as below........

APPLICANT INFORMATION

Status IV Fee IV
Application Civil
Documents

KHAN, ARMAN
PRINCIPAL
PRINCIPAL APPLICANT
IN PROCESS NOT STARTED N/A

I'm going to be sending my IV docs as soon as the IV fee is paid, simply because of the amount of time we are waiting for docs to be reviewed, I'm confident that the DS-260 will be issued and completed before they get a chance to review my IV docs.  In fact, if I could get the cover sheet I'd send it in now even although the bill hasn't been invoiced lol

Hi everyone.

The best alarm call this morning. As my alarm went off so did the beep that another email had come in on my phone. Had to do a double take yo check it really was from NVC.

After waiting exactly 30 days we received the IV invoice. Hubby paid it. Lawyer couriering IV package tomorrow.

What a sad little life I lead that I have been walking on air today just because I received an invoice!

Oh well the waiting begins again now.

Great to see lots of good news today.

Come on bdrew I am waiting for your CC and Sukie your interview date. Great that you got that medical out the way Sukie.

Off to cook dinner.

That's great news.  Seen a couple of IV invoices creeping back in over the last week so at least we know the CAC isn't broken, and that they are still invoicing people.

On May 15 AOS showed Paid...then i sent AOS package....... so since that day i was waiting for IV...and i got it today.. i checked before 2 hours there was nothing.. bt now my wife called me and said that i called NVC and i told them that when will i pay IV fees they told me that you can pay it today.. so now its available....... its amazing........ :)

yeah u will get it soon.....when you have paid the AOS fees?

It's supposed to be linked to the DS-261 though, not the AOS package.  When did you submit your DS-261?

Oh, and congratulations.  I'm constantly checking CEAC to see if I can pay my IV fee

Right behind
May 16 last scanned.
Everything crossed ..........sending good vibes your way!!!!

There are definitely 2 Abby's that work the day shift on the phones! The one I talked to today was not the polite nice lady I spoke to at the end of April who gave me my case #.

And they are definitely not up to the 16th yet. She refused to tell me what day they're currently working on (I say refused because she said 'I can't give you that information') she said I need to give it at least 30 days bla bla bla. I asked if a July interview was possible for me at this stage and she sighed and said "honestly, that's not happening" and then quickly said "but I could be completely wrong" (I think she was covering her tooshie lol). It wasn't a completely pointless phone call afterall, I guess. :/

Although not waiting on CC, I sent in an email on May 16th with Choice of Agent details (I also completed the form May 19th - received May 22nd).  I received a reply to my email today, so I think they might be working on May 16th.

Now, here's a question, does the reply to my email mean they are processing it now or just that if I hadn't done the DS-261 then today would be my received date?  Here's the email:

Dear Sir/Madam:

The National Visa Center (NVC) received your inquiry regarding the immigrant visa petition: LND2014xxxxxx filed by (PETITIONER) on behalf of (BENEFICIARY).

We received (BENEFICIARY's) Choice of Address and Agent form. The next step is to pay the immigrant visa application fee. We will send an invoice to the designated agent.

To learn more about the immigrant visa application fee, you can visit the website below.

http://travel.state..../info_3904.html

We received documentation for your case. Please allow 30 business days for us to review your documents.

To clarify, this is in RESPONSE to the email I sent in using the Choice of Agent template on the wiki.

Now the question is: Do they select cases according to the Case Complete date or according to the  Priority date (time we filed the I-30)?

Does anyone knows?

It's neither of those.... They have a very thought out, well planned and thorough process:

First they take all the files which are case complete and are awaiting interview scheduling.  They take them to top level of the office block, stand in the stairwell, then drop all the files at once.  They then go down the stairs 1 level at a time and as they find a bar-code, they scan it.  They keep doing this until they reach the 1st floor and this gives them the order in which files will be scheduled interviews.

Stage 2 involves assigning an actual appointment.  What they do now is have a yearly planner on the wall  They work though the cases in their newly found order and fire darts at the yearly planner.  Whatever date the dart lands on is the date you get the interview.

Maybe this should be added to the wiki?

Yup! there is nothing i can do so might as well just send a new form in and stop bitching. I've been waiting a year already, whats a week more :).

It's stupid that they aren't making a change to their process if they keep seeing this everyday.

My husband always asks "did you read that on an official government site or those damned forums?"  when I tell him to do something different, like putting N/A despite the instructions saying otherwise.  He's slowly but surely coming round to the idea that the people in "those damned forums" have more experience and knowledge that any of the government staff, websites and filing instructions!

Your so selfish, if they squeeze you in and make it 6 for the day they wont be able to have their three hour lunch with a nap afterwards.   Have you no sense of priorities?

         (had to cut back, apparently I had an emoticon overdose!)

Nvc received our package last may 30, but until now it's not yet scanned in their system, is that normal?

It's not normal for the NVC, but it seems that nothing in the NVC is normal at the moment.

I think the July 2013 thread can be closed now!

I really hope so,  it would be very disappointing (and disheartening) to read of people still hanging around waiting on their NOA2's from July (or earlier).  Especially when we have February 2014 filers joining this thread recently

I'm so excited to finally join the NVC thread :) we filed in July 2013, and just got our NOA2 on May 29th. Just glad to know this part is a shorter wait lol

:wow:  we were in the July filers thread together, waiting for NOA2.  That was a long wait you had.  Does this mean you won the game of last man standing????

In the meantime, welcome to the NVC  :joy:

Be sure to read Saylins wiki and update the spreadsheet (see post 1 in this thread)

After almost 14 months at USCIS and NVC, we finally have CASE COMPLETE! And as it's my birthday, I have one more reason to celebrate!

I talked to Bruce (?), very nice guy, he told me they are still scheduling for July interviews and so there was a chance I will get one. Don't know if he just said this to be nice on my birthday, but let's hope he says the truth.

Thanks to everyone for the moral support, help and advice.

Happy Birthday and CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!   :joy:  :joy:  :joy:

Hi!

is my first post in this topic, but  i need understand well the process NVC,my question is the next, is possible pay mi fees in NVC having priority date feb 2014? or i need waiting my priority date nearly become current?

I read NVC WIKI Three Times before i  asked, but i need hear your comment :clock:

Note: I got assigned my case number and IN last 21 may and i waiting  still ds -261 available or the next step.

thank for you help!!

You have your Case # and IIN so just keep checking the CEAC site https://ceac.state.gov/ceac/  If you haven't done so already, you could also call and give beneficiary email address over the phone too, so that both petitioner and beneficiary receive the email advising when the DS-261 is available.

From the updates on this forum, it seems that the NVC are working to approx May 9-12 at the moment though.

My advice, follow this forum, check the spreadsheet, read what's happening with other users.  If they are reporting progress/activity, check their timelines to get an indication of what date the NVC are working to at the moment.  If people are making progress from May 21st there's a strong possibility you will be able to complete DS-261 and pay the AOS fee.

nope,  but I called last night around 9:45.  took 45 minutes to get through and an hour on hold.  But I had to know if they completed my case AGAIN !!!!   and it is ... Everything is fine but I would not have slept if I didn't call last night.

I honestly didn't expect a call this morning..  I told you... I don't trust them at all.

Fingers crossed you get that appointment notification soon then!!!

We are on the same boat!! I resubmitted the DS 261 without any changes original submitting was 14th May and resubmitted on 22nd May that because of new site... I have been waiting for 2 weeks for IV invoice.. what should i do? Can i call to NVC or need to wait few more days??

Please strong advice required...

Same here waiting on VI invoice for weeks,  made the mistake to resend the DS 261 with a change (did any one help you filing this form, Husband translated) a week after. I was just making sure I did not missed anything then it showed not completed... So I re-did it. I guess that will send me back another week.

I would call and ask what date they "received" your DS-261.  There's not too much you can do with the info other than use it to help gauge when you might expect to get the IV invoice.

For example, mine was submitted May 19th, then again on May 21st but was received on May 22nd (a call to the NVC confirmed this).

Although I check my email and the CEAC site frequently, I know they are only working on May 9th at the moment, so I'm watching the forums, checking peoples timelines, waiting for the NVC to catch up to May 21st/22nd

You're so lucky, I am the one who submitted the DS-261 on May 8 but IV Fee still not invoiced. Called yesterday, they said wait for 30 BUSINESS Days

Did you call to find out what date they received the DS-261?  I completed mine on May 19, accidentally resubmitted May 21 and the NVC confirmed it was received May 22.

It was about a week to the first available medical slot when we called, so not too bad :) You won't wait long to get an appointment. But definitely leave them that 5 days to send your results to the embassy. Another UK member went through recently and didn't have medical results at the embassy on time, so the approval was delayed until the paperwork arrived >.<

Thank you for the well-wishes! Currently on Skype reviewing common interview questions together, hehe ^_^

Ah a week, that's not too bad then, was expecting longer, like every other step of this process.

I know the list of questions you refer to, I'm saving that until all fee's are paid and docs sent, but that page is bookmarked!!

ColGilMaleScotland2014-05-18 16:17:00
IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNVC Filers - May 2014

The interview scheduling isn't dependent on the medical for spousal visa filers. Your interview will be scheduled in the next round of scheduling after your case complete whether the medical has been done or not.

London advises that you wait until your case has arrived at the embassy before having your medical, because Knightsbridge will send your results directly to the embassy and it's best your file is already there to match the medical documents up with. That's not a hard and fast rule, I've seen a number of other UK filers have medicals prior to interview being scheduled, but we personally waited until receiving our interview notice before booking the medical.

I would advise against scheduling your medical this soon in the process, because it has a limited validity to it. You want the results to still be valid at your interview, and if you're delayed by checklists etc., they may not be. The amount of time you have to go through POE is also based on when your medical results were obtained, so if you can't travel immediately after receiving your passport back, that's all the more reason to wait to schedule the medical

That's really useful information. I'm naturally keen and eager to push anything forward which I have control over but if it could cause issues down the line then I'll leave it for a bit then, maybe until case complete at least.  I'm planning to travel on the first plane to the US the second I have my passport  :joy:

How long did you have to wait for the medical?  That's my main worry, interview in 6 weeks after case complete but the medical ends up scheduled for the day before (and not the 5 days they ask for)

The interview scheduling isn't dependent on the medical for spousal visa filers. Your interview will be scheduled in the next round of scheduling after your case complete whether the medical has been done or not.

PS - I notice you have your interview tomorrow!  Good luck and all the best  :goofy:

Can anyone in the UK answer me this?  According to the London Embassy website, the interview will not be scheduled until the medical has been completed and they are in receipt of this.  Does this mean that the medical can be scheduled before NVC case completes, or do we have to wait for case complete before we can schedule the medical?  If the latter it seems this would add additional and unnecessary time onto the process. My case was only received at the NVC a few days ago, but was hoping to schedule my medical now if possible.

EDIT: Post had duplicated

Hi everyone, not sure if this is already common knowledge or not, so apologies if I'm sharing something you already know....

I have a job lined up for when I arrive in the states, and I thought I'd have to wait 3 weeks for the SSN to be sent out before I could work, however I've discovered that you can work as soon as you clear customs and immigration as your temporary greencard acts as employment authorization.  Here's the official info from Social Security if anyone is interested:

http://www.socialsec...oyer/hiring.htm

It does seem to be more aimed at temporary workers, but it also applies IR1/CR1 green card holders.

Congrats!!  By the way, what is the I-824 in your timeline?

Thanks Lakehouse,

So our NOA2 on the I-130 said I (the beneficiary) was in the US.  Many people told us to ignore that, but since it said that the only way to send to the NVC was to file a I-824 (Action on an Approved Petition).  Turns out we didn't need it, so it cost us $485 but we aren't complaining.  If we went down that process it could add up to 3 months.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsScrewed up and in tears.

Im at the nvc stage and I submitted the d-261 over a month ago.it showed complete. I called the nvc about 2 weeks ago to ask why the iv bill is not available to pay and they said give it another week or 2.. So I go and review the d-261 and accidently resubmitted it. now when I called today they said they only got the d261 today. so it will be 20-30 days from today :( is there anyway to fix this?

Did you use the print receipt, or email receipt option?  If so, call and ask for a supervisor.  Tell them you have the receipt and you'd like it changed.  I too resubmitted mine but only 2 days later so I didn't bother escalating it, but I've heard others have been sucessful.  One more thing though, this will only work if the resubmitted and original submission are exactly the same.

Good luck

EDIT:  Sorry I see you have already resolved the issue, but it won't let me delete this post.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsJuly 2013 I-130 Filers

hello guys

can you tell me what are the documents to prove that my relationship with my wife is real ???

Did you get an RFE?  We had one asking for proof of bona fide marriage, we sent in:

Phone Call logs (date/time/duration)

Photographs together, with each others family members, or with only one of us in shot, but multiple photo's of each other clearly in the same place

Affidavits from friends and family members (notarized)

Flight confirmation, hotel confirmation

Photocopy of passport stamps

Evidence of a joint checking account

Cover letter and timeline of events (when we met, visited each other, proposal, marriage etc)

Although we didn't submit the following, I've heard of others having success with:

Skype logs

Facebook conversations

Emails

We didn't get married in front of family or friends, just a court house wedding, but we have planned a ceremony in front of family and friends once I live in America, so we explained that on the cover letter, and our family and friends made reference to that in their affidavits.

Good luck

OK, so we received the I-797, Notice of Action, and it's saying I'm in the US and to apply for AOS.  I'm not in the US so it's saying to file I-824 and pay $405 for the pleasure of their mistake.  Anyone else experienced this?  What was the outcome if so?

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsJuly 2013 I-130 Filers

They have been taking more than a month after they receive the approved case to generate a case number. After that, things seem to be quicker if all docs and payments are done in a timely manner.

We have researched exactly what we need, and have all the funds sitting ready to pay the AOS and IV fee's, all paperwork completed (signed, not dated) and filed ready to add our barcodes and send in, so once we get our case number we hopefully can make up for some lost time.

Hope you get your case number soon!!!

I really hope nobody answers this question: is anyone still waiting for NOA2 from July 2013?

If anybody is still waiting, don't feel too bad, I was approved Feb 26 and still nothing at the NVC stage. No progress at all (no case # yet).

I'm still hanging on in here.  Been RFE for weeks now.

My silver lining was that the NVC stage might go quicker, but it seems that's a false promise I've given myself.   :(

Hello

Can anyone please share their RFE. What evidence they are asking?

I believe there are about 10 fliers that haven't been approved by Nebraska and I believe is due to RFE

All these files were transferred the same date 1/02/14 - 1/03/14

We were asked to prove bona fide marriage.  They gave us suggestions of what to include, we went with:

Call Logs,

Joint checking account statements

Photos

Flight/Hotel confirmation

Photocopy of passport stamps

Affidavits of Support from friends and family members (notarized)

Written timeline of events from petitioner on how we met and subsequent visits, proposal, marriage etc.

Good luck, they received ours on the 11th March and every day we wait for a response. I'm hoping today is that day (but then I say that everyday lol)

So both RFE's arrive in the mail today.  Considering one was supposedly sent on Feb 20th and the other March 4th, who's thinking what I'm thinking?  If you have an 129f and 130 in at the same then send the RFE's out together, whichever is later.  So frustrating.  Hubbie is out and about just now so don't know what they are asking for but I'll keep you posted.

Won't let me edit,

129F - Passport photo's and some form

130 - Proof of a bonafide marriage.

We have mountains of evidence to send in; skype call logs, affidavits of support from 8 people (4 each), flight confirmation, hotel bookings, passport stamps, wedding contract, about 200 photo's....

Looking for a bit of advice.  We are thinking of ignoring the 129f RFE and just responding to the I130.  Anyone know if anyone else has done similar?  Has it caused any delays?

Oh my gosh!  I was thinking of filing an i129 K3 & K4 since an attorney I spoke to said it wouldn't hurt & maybe get my wife and daughter here quicker from the Philippines.  But now that I'm seeing what happened to you, it seems they're trying to railroad people anyway they can.  This is ridiculous!

I sent a message to the author of this story at the New York Times asking her to do a follow up story on this.
www.nytimes.com/2014/02/09/us/program-benefiting-some-immigrants-extends-visa-wait-for-others.html?_r=1

Here is where you can also send her a message and maybe shed some light onto our issues with USCIS.

This is the email I wrote to the author of the story.

Interestingly I had just read that article before you posted this.  Thanks for the contact information.  I understand that sometimes they need additional evidence, but why does it need to take so long to get to this point.  Other people who filed after had their NOA2 weeks ago (not in all cases I know) and then we get RFE's!  To top it all off, we haven't got the letter, hubbie has been on a family vacation and they will not speak to me as the beneficiary.  Trying to stay positive, but it's so difficult being apart.  I'm not even allowed to travel back to America to see him, I nearly got denied entry last time I went over and they told me not to return unless I have a visa in my hand!

Will this never end???

RFE for I-130 on 20th Feb, no letter received by 1st March, my hubbie went on a family vacation 2nd March so not sure if letter arrived yet, but we got I-129f RFE on 4th March.

I'm still here!  Waiting on RFE info.

They asked for the original copy of our marriage certificate. They claimed to have only received the translation which isn't true. I guess they lost it when my file moved to the CSC. They also asked for more evidence which I guess they lost as well since they claimed that I only submitted a copy of my marriage certificate (I'm guessing they meant the translation of the copy)...

I sent in another copy of the marriage certificate. I also sent in some wedding photos (again), my airline tickets used to visit Indonesia as well as the Visa receipts and also about 40 odd pages of chat records. (I took screen shots of my phone with the chat application open incase they claimed that the transcripts of the chat weren't proper proof).

thanks for sharing Ashiraz, good luck, I hope you hear about your approval soon.

we still haven't heard anything back yet.  I have our marriage certificate in the UK so I hope they don't ask for that, but it's a US one without translations so hoping that they haven't lost the copy we sent them.

In the meantime, we have prepared a folder of everything we can think of.  Best to be prepared.

Ok is it just me or is the uscis case status site not working for anyone else??? I haven't been able to see anything for like 3-4 days now sad.png

I was able to log into it on Friday, but Saturday and Sunday it's been down.  Maybe going through some maintenance or something, strange it doesn't say that though.

EDIT:  Found this on their website, but I don't remember it being down last weekend.  Maybe they delayed it a week?

I hope so! CSC received my RFE on Feb. 14th. Hopefully they don't delay the decision for too long!

I'm waiting on our RFE letter so we can see what evidence we need to submit.  Do you mind if I ask what evidence you were required to submit?

While we are waiting we have pulled together a file with pretty much everything we can think of so we have no delay in responding to the RFE.
