For AOS paying fee my wife doesn't have checks to pay
Does she can pay using her father checks ??!
Or whatt ???

Does she have a routing and account number for a US bank account? if so, she'd be quicker doing the electronic transfer?

i'm 20th and i'm curious what is going on at  NVC.

my husband is very stubborn and he doesn't want to call cause in his opinion it's not our time yet, grrrr.

My AOS was scanned on the 19th May as well and I have not heard anything yet....hurry up and wait...that's all I do these days!

I just called and was told they are currently review my AOS docs which they received/scanned on May 27th.

hi guyz,

Today i have received an email from NVC stating that "we have finished your case and we  will send you interview date, do not contact with local embassy," so it means our case is complete now ? and we should wait for the interview date ? they also stated that i should bring the tax return of co-sponsor in interview.. does everyone received the same email on case completion? it is compulsory to bring tax returns of cosponsor in interview ? i am confused please advice.

thanx.

CONGRATULATIONS on case complete.

Do I need to enroll my case at NVC by sending them an email with both husband and I contact information?

I did send the email as soon as I had the case #, the DS-261 was completed a few days later.  I don't know for sure, but I think my IV invoice was triggered by me email rather than the DS-261 as they replied to it one day and the invoice was sent the following day so I'd say go for it.

Is it normal for it to look like this? Where it doesn't even show anything under applicant name or any other information. It's been about 3 hours now, I'm not exactly worried but I've heard 30 minutes from multiple people and never anything else.

Hmm, that's a little suspicious, not sure if there's anything to read into it or not.

Thank you for the sweet welcome message!

This thread moves so fast and it's pretty hard to catch up haha.
But there are many usuful information for NVC process and I'm happy to be here.

My husband says I should wait with no stress.
I know I should enjoy the rest of my life in Tokyo because I will live in America for long time from this year for sure.
I know this visa process sucks, but I should not to feel stress since this stupid and annoying visa process will be done this year for sure:)

That sounds crazy we have to wait for a month to pay IV fee.
But well I will try to wait until the day comes.

I'm going to Hawaii to spend vacation with my husband this weekend. He is coming from LA.
I've been to LA for 3times during my I-130, and this is the first time to go to America after NOA2.
I hope I can enter the US without any problems..

Good luck everyone!

Welcome.  You are possibly aware of this already, but do take proof of employment, mortgage/rent, and anything else to prove you will return home and await the visa.

CASE COMPLETE as of June 11th! :) :joy: Waiting for an interview.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Hello all, I am here with yet another question. My application is still under process, i filled out my DS-260 in April. In the last week of May, me and my wife were blessed with a baby girl :) Now in the DS- 260 i have written i have no children, however the situation has changed now, do i jst explain this at the interview or do i have to notify the NVC?

It does say if you need to make changes, call the NVC so I'd call them if I were you and ask for their advice.

I called NVC - Case Complete!!!!!!!!!

Didnt get e mail yet.

AOS checklist 9 May

new AOS scanned to system 16 MAY

so "around" 20 business days :)

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

hello, I have a question can you sent the DS 260 doc. before you submit the paperwork ? I have already paid the fee just waiting for it to be accepted insha Allah.

If the DS-260 is available then submit it, it doesn't matter if you have sent the other paperwork or not.

Is anyone familiar with how long AFTER the IV Fee e-mail from NVC does it actually show up on the portal as payable? It's been 2 hours and there's nothing available to pay.

I think it varies, mine took about 35 mins.  Just keep refreshing and it should be up soon

Ok Arthur is a piece of work, I mean is rude really that necessary.

I've had the pleasure of speaking with grumpy Arthur, not Joy yet though.  It was before my case was received, actually I was calling to see if they had received it yet, he told me I had called far too soon, even though it had been a month since my NOA2 lol

Called NVC.  Agent Jean couldn't confirm which date they are working on at the moment, just the usual 30 day script.

Anyone else waited almost a week for IV payment to move from "in process" to "paid"?  My AOS only sat in the "in process" status for 12 hours.  Jean told me that it's showing they don't have the payent so I have to email (and wait 30 business days for a reply) and attached my bank statement which shows the cleared payment.  I've done this, but I really can't face having to wait 3-6 weeks for them to review an email before I can pay my DS-260.  Hopefully I'm just being obsessive and the payment will clear shortly.

Saaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaylin, would you please do the honors of updating the spreadsheet? I HAVE A CASE COMPLETE!!!!!!!!!! (I'm getting ready to submit the form, I'm just being dramatic with this post) ;)

Agent Jean also said they are still scheduling July this week!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!   :joy:  :joy:  :joy:  :joy:  :joy: That's great news.  Also, great to hear they are still scheduling July appointments for London this far into June.  There's hope for me getting an August appointment now.  So happy for you.

I got a stupid checklist for N/A on place of residence (no, I did not know about this at the time I mailed it in). I just want to go cry in a corner now. Anyone got a checklist only for this? I want this fixed now. This is ridiculous.

Sorry to hear that.  There's been quite a few people who have had checklists for this.

A brand new week & good luck to everyone! Quick question...
How accurate is the switching from "paid" to "n/a" on the website? I was thinking about just watching the website instead of calling everyday :D

It does seem to be really accurate from what I've been reading.  I think it's more a glitch with the new system rather than a process, so there's potential that it might stop doing that at somepoint.  If I were waiting for CC at the moment, I'd probably reduce the amount of calls by 50% and increase the number of times I check the site by 100%

The first part of your comment is not always true. Back when I got approved, this seemed to be an NSC glitch. I was approved at CSC and my status never changed to let me know when my case was shipped to NVC.

I'm only stating this so people don't freak out if their USCIS never updates to reflect shipment :-D

Same with me, it's not a glitch thought, CSC don't provide further updates after NOA2.

Hi everyone,

Been lurking around for a while now, but got tired of waiting so I decided to join the conversation.

I received my NoA 2 saying that the application has been approved and they will be forwarding the application to the Dept of State NVC in Portsmouth, NH last 5/20/14. Been waiting since then but I haven't received or heard anything from the NVC. Is this normal? It's been 24 days since they forwarded and haven't heard from them yet. Is there something I can do to follow-up on it even if I haven't received any case number yet?

Thanks

I see someone else has already referred you to the Wiki for essential reading, but I waited weeks before my case arriving in the NVC.  You will be waiting a while if you want them to notify you though, you are much better phoning them every day at this stage until you have confirmation they have received your case and assigned your case and invoice numbers.  Good luck and welcome to the NVC thread.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNVC Filers - June 2014

Just to clarify.....I am not angry at bdrew.. or anyone here..  and if I said what I wanted about the process I would get banned from this thread.   I have my interview date and this part of the journey is almost over for us... what gets me every time is if the USCIS would have processed my I-130 in the 5 months they are processing now, my husband would actually be entering the US in July.  Since we had to wait 11 months and 6 days for that dang approval and another 2 months at NVC.... we can't file the waiver until we complete the interview.  Then we are at the mercy of the NSC for another 6-8 MORE months.   I try and track the I-601 waivers on the other thread on VJ  and another forum but it makes me depressed.  I have seen a few getting approved in 5 months lately ( Decemebr filers)  but I know the journey  is probably another 6-8 months for us.  My goal when I started at the NVC was to get my husband here by December. Now with a July interview, we are probably looking at February or March  .... unless we file an expedite and it gets approved....    THIS is why I get so angry at the quick appprovals. Its not anger towards the filers.

Makes sense LoveMyTico, totally understand your pain and feel for you.  When most are seeing the light at the end of tunnel, you know you have an extra step to go.  I'll be following you, praying for you and keeping fingers crossed that your husband can be with you by December.  Power of positive thinking.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNVC Filers - June 2014

Wow I had lots to catch up on, seems the full moon is getting to a lot of people lol.

I'm going to chime in on two topics.  Firstly, barcodes.  The barcode is purely just your case number.  There's a wiki entry on this site somewhere which shows how to make your own barcoded cover sheets.  I made one so we could send our docs in sooner since they were taking so long to review but decided against it incase I'd made a mistake.  Once the cover sheet was available I compared my mock up and it looked exactly the same.  Anyway, it makes sense that you can use the AOS cover sheet as long as you address it to Attn: CMR and not Attn: CMR AOS, so it goes to the correct department.

Second point, USCIS wait times.  I've got mixed feeling on this.  Yes it's great that the USCIS have caught up so nobody else has to experience what we went through (I wasn't an 11 month USCIS'er but not far off it at 9.5 months).  Yes it's not very fair for those who have waited a long time see people who have waited 6 months complain that they have waited to long, it's painful and brings back memories, but it's not a game of who waited the longest, and it seems people are starting the "You can't complain, I waited longer than you" posts.  Sure those getting approved in a month or two, yes it does rub salt into the wounds.  It makes me think I could have filed this year and be in the same situation just now, and not had all that extra waiting around for something to happen.  The thing that p!ssing me off, is the fact that USCIS catching up has caused the NVC backlog.  I mean in the past 3 months they must have processed about 11 months of applications and sent them all to the NVC at the same time.  That's what is annoying me, we waited all this time at USCIS because of the backlog, and now we are taking longer at NVC because USCIS cleared their backlog and made it NVC's problems.  But, that isn't the fault of any petitioner, and I congratulate (with a hint of jealousy) all those getting fast(er) approval notices from USCIS.

Phew!

Can I ask more detail about your IV bill?  Basically a comparison against mine? I've been checking every 5 mins and my DS-260 isn't available yet.

IV invoiced - June 10 @ 5.20pm EST

IV paid - June 10 @ 5.55pm EST

IV cleared account - June 12 @ 4.30am EST

When we paid the AOS, it cleared our account and showed as paid on CEAC within 12 hours.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNVC Filers - June 2014

Great to see so much good news about interview dates, congratulations everyone.  Time to relax and celebrate.

International Courier Express taking a week!?   :wow:

It takes 7 days to send a letter from North America to Asia or Europe by regular mail.

Maybe it takes longer from Australia?

I sent mail to my husband, next day delivery from the UK (although next day, it takes a couple because of time difference).  Once it arrived 1 day late and I was able to get a full refund.  It won't get your docs there quicker, but you might be able to get the money back.  International Courier services are not cheap!!

Not sure if anyone has ever heard of this situation before but if so, I'd SO appreciate someone sharing with me.

After seeing a few Australians get early July interviews, I am FREAKING OUT.

I got my case complete on June 9th and I am now thinking we might get a July 8th or July 15th interview. This COULD be a problem because I still have a package waiting to be reviewed, scanned in on June 6th (I am kicking myself now for sending it...). It will most likely be reviewed the first week of July, sent to the embassy within the same week....

My package might not make it to the Sydney consulate before our interview! Is there any way I can call and ask them to expedite the review of our package if we do receive an interview date for the 8th or the 15th??

Ugh...

I've quoted two posts, but will answer both here, so from what I understand, they have CC'd you and will send the package to the Embassy as is.  You would then take the originals (which you mentioned later you have) and the NVC will not send the package to the Embassy which was scanned June 6th, but instead return that to you.  That's my understanding anyway.  Either way, you will be fine.  Worst case scenario is they send the June 6th stuff to the embassy, it's not there on time, but you present the originals and you get your approval.

Ok so here is my situation

I sent my checklist for original birth certificate and marriage certificate. It was scanned in on May 13th. I called last thrusday and was told my case was complete. Today I get a letter saying the case is complete and an interview is scheduled for July 3rd, but the letter states to bring the original marriage certificate and birth certificate to the interview. So I call the NVC to tell them I sent these documents already as part of the checklist. The lady tells me that if the checklist isnt reviewed by the time they send the case to the embassy, the documents will be sent back to me. I dont understand. Why would they give me a case complete and schedule the interview if they havent reviewed the checklist  ?

I'm not sure if it's standard process or not, but I think it's probably got something to do with trying to meet their targets.  The sooner they can get the cases completed and distributed to the Embassies, the better they look.  I guess if it's a checklist for something straightforward then they are pretty much saying "we know you can send this in and it's nothing major so we are happy to complete the case, just give the docs to the embassy."  If it's something more complicated then they probably need to double check it first.

I am actually not worried about original documents getting there, I have ALL originals with me (I paid to have two-four sets of everything) :)

Just worried they won't interview us without our package :/

Oh, and I already got an interview date :) July 22nd.

My package SHOULD arrive by then. It SHOULD be reviewed at the latest by July 4th :)

Answered above

i checked CEAC shows all fees paid,DS 261 and 260 completed, but docs shows N/A....im stressing out on this one..do i need to send the docs again...NVC gave me a false checklist asking for all documents again..is it possible to resend all the docs>>>a rep from NVC told us they got the response to RFE last May 23rd and reviewing it....What does this mean?

I asked yesterday on this thread if the docs update from N/A and everyone who replied said that the docs stay as N/A throughout (perhaps a future enhancement).  They've been working on or around the 16th May, so if I were you I'd just keep checking for Case Complete.  Most people are saying that their payments turn to N/A once Case Complete, so if you notice that, then definitely get on the phone to find out for sure.

I just got my NOA2 so I think I will be here for a while.

Question: how do I put my progress in my posts? Like the timelines that people have at the bottom of each post.

Welcome to the NVC thread.

Go to your settings, 4th option down on the right (I think) say's signature.  Select that and you can add your timeline there

For some people the AOS fee changes from PAID to N/A. The documents part always says N/A. Yesterday, there were CCs reported and they said the AOS fee did not change. It's just a glitch.

Thanks bdrew, I'd followed the part about the fee, but just couldn't remember people mentioning the docs.  Such as wasted opportunity on their site.  Hopefully for the next generation of NVC'ers they will update it to show when files are received, reviewed, checklisted etc.  Would cut out a significant number of calls.

Hi Guys, I need a little suggestion what I should do. I am worried I am maybe losing time with NVC for nothing.

My PD 25 Feb 2013 and we filed the case as F2A (green card based). I am not citizen and had updated records with USCIS but it turns the file they send to NVC still showed F2A. I have since sent my citizenship certificate, photocopy of US passport to them via both via email and post about 10 days back and called them as well asking them to fix this. They say it will be fixed when your documents are processed.

Yesterday I received email correspondence from NVC and it still show my case is F2A. I called them again last night but they tell my documents are received but they are not processed yet and it will be taken care of they are processed. I asked them what if you guys never process it because the Visa Bulletin has retrogressed? She didn't have any conniving answer.

Is this normal, should I wait for my AOS and IV to be processed? I did send a letter along that that I am US citizen and the records should be fixed. What should I do? Please note Visa bulletin has retrogressed to all the way to 2012.

I'm sure I read somewhere that if the PD retrogresses, they still deal with applications which have started processing so I think you will be ok.  Don't quote me on that though, but if in doubt it's maybe worth having a supervisor review it?  In the meantime, I'll see if I can find the page which explained retrogression cases.

Sorry, I think this has been asked and answered before, but I'm having a bit of a brain melt today....

Once the AOS and IV packages have been reviewed, and if no checklist is issued, does the CEAC portal update to reflect this, or does it always show "N/A" under those sections?

Hi all, I received a hard copy NOA2 (well, my husband did in Japan, I have received nothing at my new address, which I changed 5 days before our case was approved at Nabraska Service Center) on May 15th. Our case was approved on May 6th then sent to NVC apparently...

I have yet to receive anything from NVC. I know it can take 30 days. How do I know they even received anything? Do you get something in the mail saying it was accepted?

I tried to call the NVC at the 603# and it has been busy every time. It beeps three times like a busy signal and then nothing. I'm calling 603-334-0700.

I just wrote the nvc inquiry email address to see if I could get anything from them. Any advice on my next step?

Thank you :)

Welcome to the NVC thread.  Firstly read Saylin's wiki at least twice (first post in this thread).  You will need to call to find out if your case has been received and case # allocated.  The number is always extremely busy.  Redial, redial, redial some more until you get through.  Then you can expect a 25-45 min wait on hold before you are connected to an agent.  Call as often as you like but since it's over 1 month they probably have your case and possibly case number (don't forget to ask for the Invoice identification number) by now.  Good luck

I think NVC is doing to us (waiting for a CC) what they did to everyone waiting for their IV. Making us wait 30 days. -_-

I can't call anymore. I'm tempted to shoot for the interview expedite, but I feel silly doing so. I am so done with this. I really regret applying for my husband to come here, I should have just sold my house and taken the financial hit. I'd have been in England a long time ago enjoying my life with my husband.

Today is not a good day.

My fingers are crossed for you.  Hopefully you'll hear something soon.  Good luck  :joy:  :joy:

I got my AOS invoice within a couple of business days, but other people have waited a few weeks.  I don't have a lawyer so not entirely sure of the process, but assume you would receive and email or notification when the fee's are available.  Maybe worth getting your lawyer to log in and check though.

so they had room on your case status and not mine? :P

I wish i knew what it was before. I have a feeling that everything was bold before.

Can you check the attached screenshot and tell me if you have the two boxed items as bold or not bold?

Mine looks exactly the same, I think it's just the design of the website.  Not sure what it looks like if there are multiple beneficiaries, I always just assumed the principal applicant was in bold so it stood out.  Either way, I don't think there's any magic formula (like the "paid" turning to "n/a" when CC)

Hi! Sorry I'm not sure if this question was asked and answered before but does NVC wait for the checklist response before they look into the IV supporting documents?

For example, AOS and IV packet were sent and received on different days. A checklist was received for AOS before the IV packet was reviewed. Will they go ahead and review the IV packet even if the response for checklist is not yet received? Or they will wait for the response before they review the IV packet?

Thank you very much!

I believe they will review the IV docs anyway while waiting on the AOS checklist response.

Received a checkilist yesterday stating:

INSTRUCTIONS FOR: xxxx

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

______F - FINANCIAL EVIDENCE:______________________________________

We received your Immigrant Visa Application; however, we have not received an Affidavit of Support

form. You must submit an Affidavit of Support form before we can complete your case.

Does this mean they've accepted the IV package, but are still waiting for the AOS package? (which they have not received yet as it hasn't been sent...). I would assume so, but should we call and confirm?

Sounds like a false checklist to me.  They are just asking you to send the AOS package, so to answer your question, yes they have accepted the IV package.

Hello guys!

I haven't been on here in a while. I traveled and have limited internet access. I submitted my da-261 and it's already three weeks today and I still don't have my iv invoiced yet... I worried :(

It took me 3 weeks, but think others are waiting longer.  Don't think there is reason to be worried, but plenty of reason to be frustrated.

We'll receive an email from NVC when we can pay the IV fee, correct?   :huh2:

If so, I'll stop checking https://ceac.state.gov/ceac/ since I feel silly checking it everyday to see if I can pay the IV fee.   :bonk:

I logged into CEAC and noticed that the AOS was available, I'd checked 4 mins earlier and it wasn't.  Just as I spotted it, the email came through within about 60 seconds.

For the IV fee, I received the email, and it didn't show on the CEAC site for about 35 mins.  So from my experience, Yes, you will receive an email.  It didn't stop me checking the site about 100 times a day though

Normal to get that delay.  Normally takes up to 5 days to be able to pay from the email.

Thanks for replying. Wow  :wow:  NVC must have pulled their finger out, only took 35 mins from email to payment being available.  Civil docs getting prepared and ready to send as I type!

Same here just got the email but cannot pay it on their website

Guess we just need to wait.  Seems a lot of people received the invoice so I guess they need to load them all into the system.

Well I received a happy anniversary (1st) email from NVC saying to pay my IV invoice AT LAST!!!  woop.

Only problem is it's not available on ceac.  My AOS was available the minute I got the email.  Anyone else experienced a delay?

This is the number +16033340700, correct?

because I call with google voice as always and now i'm receiving this message At 2:18 PM +1 603-334-0700 was not available for a phone call.

That is the correct number.  I'm not sure about google voice, I use a Skype subscription, but it takes me 20+ attempts for the call to connect.  I usually redial, redial, redial non stop until the call is connected.  Perhaps try that if you haven't already.

i have submitted IV fees today......should i send IV package now or after i submit DS-260???  DS-260 is not available online yet..... and my IV fees status is  coming like as below........

APPLICANT INFORMATION

Status IV Fee IV
Application Civil
Documents

KHAN, ARMAN
PRINCIPAL
PRINCIPAL APPLICANT
IN PROCESS NOT STARTED N/A

I'm going to be sending my IV docs as soon as the IV fee is paid, simply because of the amount of time we are waiting for docs to be reviewed, I'm confident that the DS-260 will be issued and completed before they get a chance to review my IV docs.  In fact, if I could get the cover sheet I'd send it in now even although the bill hasn't been invoiced lol

Hi everyone.

The best alarm call this morning. As my alarm went off so did the beep that another email had come in on my phone. Had to do a double take yo check it really was from NVC.

After waiting exactly 30 days we received the IV invoice. Hubby paid it. Lawyer couriering IV package tomorrow.

What a sad little life I lead that I have been walking on air today just because I received an invoice!

Oh well the waiting begins again now.

Great to see lots of good news today.

Come on bdrew I am waiting for your CC and Sukie your interview date. Great that you got that medical out the way Sukie.

Off to cook dinner.

That's great news.  Seen a couple of IV invoices creeping back in over the last week so at least we know the CAC isn't broken, and that they are still invoicing people.
