IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresHow long after submitting civil documents

What visa type?  You haven't mentioned in your post and you don't have a timeline.  I assume CR1/IR1 but did you file at USCIS or DCF?

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresWill I receive a confirmation letter from NVC?

Hi all,

My husband has sent in the AOS and IV package to NVC last week and was delivered on Tuesday (confirmed with tracking number). It's been a week now and neither me or my husband has received any email or letter that NVC confirms that they have our package/documents.
Does NVC normally send any sort of confirmation to the applicants?
Could it take longer then 30 working days to hear from NVC?

I would appreciate for some advise or answers.
thank you

Hi IlonaLannon, for my docs it took them approx 1 week from delivery date to the date they show as received on the system.  It's currently taking 3-4 weeks from the date they show as received on their system to be reviewed, so about 4-5 weeks in total from the date of delivery.

They don't issue any emails or letters to confirm this.  The only way to find out if it's been allocated to your case yet is to call them directly.

You might find it useful to join the NVC thread, it's all people in the same situation, but at different stages so you will find a wealth of useful information in there.  The wiki which dwheels referred to is linked in the very first post.  The thread closed each month and a new one open so it's currently called NVC filers june 2014.  It will be a bit overwhelming at first because there are almost 300 pages just now, it's for this reason it the thread changes each month, but you wouldn't have to read every post, definitely the first post by Saylin, then just pick up on the last 2 or 3 pages for now.   http://www.visajourn...lers-june-2014/

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsK-1 Fiance Visa approval in 23 days ?? Is this normal???

It was likely auto-expedited due to the special measures USCIS recently implemented for beneficiaries from the Philippines.

I did't hear anything about that .. because of the typhoon?

I was there when it hit ... I was in lower Cebu so we got the tail end of it ...

Has anyone out there also had there K-1 Visa approved in a month or less?

I'm not complaining but curious ... I was thrown for a loop when I mailed my packet and I got messaged and emailed they received it on Nov 25th I was expecting April or May or even longer for the approval. I was prepared for the worse. Then I got a message and email on Dec 18th saying it was approved and they sent me an approval letter (which I received 4 days later) that I should be getting shortly.

Has anyone else out there had this kind of luck??

I live in California and wasn't sure were to mail my packet so I mailed it to the Dallas, Texas location because the web page I saw said to.

The approval letter came from Laguna Niguel here in California?

I'd like some feedback from people out there to see if this was a fluke or does it happen often?

I hope everyone out there good luck on their Visa's ... and yes there is hope!!!

God Bless

Vic

APPROVED --------

Let me add something. Be careful of advise that you get in these kinds of forums. People do a lot of guessing and we were told we wouldn't get approval because my wife (fiancée at the time) overstayed her visa by 6 months. The people here do not really know the procedures. I was also told that when the case status was updated that the case was being moved. It was not -- we were approved soon after that. Caution to the wind ... not all cases are the same.

Well, congrats! You are soooo close!!!! Hopefully this won't prolong the process too much!
Btw, is that message/email sent to everybody before the approval or RFE? What if the beneficiary doesn't have an alien registration number?

I have researched the hell out of that text message and it really has nothing to do with alien registration number - they use it as a generic message when they are shuffling your paperwork around their desk.

OK ... flash update! I received another text message of an update. That was six text messages in one day --- That "your alien registration number was changed message" is just a bullshit text from them because they don't have any other text. The good news is that it is merely an RFE. I called them and asked them and it is just for a copy of the Marriage Certificate from the NSO - not the Marriage Certificate from the province. That is something we didn't have when I filed because it takes 90+ days to get one form the Philippines. Booooya!

Last time I filed it only added 10 days to the process. But just be warned of the stupid messages on the text - they are misleading at times.

WEIRD THINGS!

NOA1 Filing June 13, with Philippines beneficiary -- This morning I received three separate text messages from USCIS. One at 4:14 am pst, One at 7:00 am pst and finally one at 8:14 am pst. The final one says this:

On December 16, 2013, your Alien Registration Number was changed relating to your I130, IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN.

I have read other VJ posts two different scenarios 1) many people received this just before an approval. 2) one guy received an RFE.

Either way ... I am very satisfied.

Dont have to, they are expediting these cases due to the typhoon.

NO they are not ... everyone is not getting expedite. I know people who filed for expedite cases and they are still being reviewed. The cases in the Philippines are simply being moved to local offices.

Five months is the average processing time if you look at the NVC timeline.

It's not an expedite -- it's a transfer. The couple didn't send a request for expedite with reasoning.

I really don't understand that if they are saying they follow by date order some people from June 20th (for example) are being transferred to another office if my husband and I filed June 7th! unsure.png

Who ever told you that? The process is SO RANDOM it is impossible to know what ones are moving and which are not. You can only speculate from the ones around yours.

we filed from France, but no expedite. ours were at overland park , today we got notice that our application went to local office.

Did you apply for an expedite or are you assuming they are expediting you?

Or do you simply mean a transfer?

Wow! That's sooo helpful! And you are right! there are still a lot of March cases waiting for NOA2 while those who have received NOA2 with in a short time after the transfer! What's the deal?! Why some get approved soo soon?!

Not everyone reports in either --- Once the approval comes in they just blow-off this site... can you blame them?

You were transferred because you are being expedited. Beneficiary is from the Philippines, USCIS is auto-expediting all of these cases because of the typhoon. No action required on your part.

I just noticed a September Philippines filer get transferred to Nebraska also -- holy #######!

The weirdest things are happening to my case -- I have received four text messages in two days that my case status has been updated but the status only changed to

"The I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN was transferred and is now being processed at a USCIS office. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made"

This never happened when the process was in the K1 stages before. I guess the good news is that someone is actually looking at our paperwork and doing some work on it. Ours should be a no-brainer because we were approved before and she was in the United States for 5 months. This isn't that difficult of a case for them at all.

I am in my group chatting with another guy that is going through the same process. We both live fairly close to the CSC here and he happens to know someone there. Central said that they received a flood of expedite requests for people who filed with Philippines beneficiaries after Yolanda Typhoon. The office decided to move Philippines cases first -- That's hope for us that are filed with our Filipinas.

In case you guys haven't stumbled upon this yet... someone has kindly created a general email (google doc) for all of us to copy and paste and send it to everyone on the email list (on pg 3 of google doc). The plan is that everyone will email/fax them THIS TUESDAY (11/19) in hopes to raise awareness of the issue of the long dreadful processing time. Please help take part in this issue and pass it along.
I truly believe if we all took part in this, we can make change!

Nice to have hope that way but I sincerely doubt it -- I worked for a congressman before and those things are really what they call LPB .... "Low Priority Bitching"

As long as there is a system in place and it is moving it isn't a fix problem on the overall scheme of things. An intern will be handling those for them -- I started to read all those steps they were taking in the other forum and it made me feel for them because I am sure they are spending many hours on those letters and contacts.

I cant take this any more y file yesterday for another expedite since the one i requested for medical reasons wass denied hopefully this one gets aproved .. this time for financial reason is just dificul for me to support 2 households and i have all the prove that i am supporting her she got no job so lets see what happens

Worth a try but you have just described 98% of us ----

I called USCIS last Monday and they told me not to expect anything until 8 months from know...

Their standard IDIOTIC answers - been through this before

One time they told me a year for a date I was checking on and it cam through in 2 months

They are the biggest group of morons when it comes to customer service

They are worse than calling Apple or ATT customer support --- and they are the king of poor service.

As things stand right now I don't think it's reasonable to expect approvals for June filers next month. February and March filers haven't all been transferred yet, and out of the ones transferred, only a handful have received approvals. April and May haven't even been touched. It would take a small miracle to get petitions from all 4 of those months adjudicated and then ours too before the end of the year. Meanwhile Overland Park is so busy shipping out the files they've been sitting on all year, they don't seem to have the time to actuall

I was denied ticketing once the same way. I don't know why some airlines say or do that - I don't know what advise to give you because from then on I used Travelocity and it always was easy to change flights and move things when I needed to. I think you have to purchase a ticket back at the same time - that seems to be the rules in the Philippines.
