PhilippinesTragic Story of Thomas Hunt and Filipina Wife

UPDATE: http://goldstardaily...ent.php?id=3390

Hunt widow could lose green card, get booted out from US
By JIGGER JERUSALEM - Correspondent Updated May 16-17, 2009 12:00 AM
JANELAZE Hunt could end up losing her green card if proven that she lied to US authorities about her having a daughter when she applied for a visa and subsequently, a permanant resident status.

Bureau of Immigration director for northern Mindanao Florentino Diputado said the US government ‘‘is very strict when it comes to immigration laws.’’

He said lying to US immigration authorities about not having a child could mean serious consequences on one’s status as a green card holder.

‘‘If it can be proven that Janelaze violated their law, then there’s a chance she would be deported,’’ Diputado said.

A message posted by Mrs. Hunt on a ‘‘Yahoo Answers’’ page a year ago suggests that she denied that she had a daughter and lied to her husband, the late Thomas J. Hunt, about it apparently just to be able to go and stay in the US.

Diputado said he believed that the Hunt affair was an ‘‘isolated case.’’

‘‘Filipino women are generally very caring and loving to their husbands, be they foreigner or not,’’ said Diputado. ‘‘Filipino women are good wives.”

Diputado said there were also times when Filipino wives complained to the bureau about alleged abuses. He said there were actual cases Filipino wives who went to the immigration bureau here to complain because they were handled roughly by their expat-husbands.
The ‘‘usual reason,’’ according to Diputado, for the alleged abuses: jealousy.
He said he advised the complaining wives to press charges.

‘‘But things got patched up right away... Complaining wives normally do not come back to the office,’’ said Diputado.

But generally, expatriates here have good relationships with their Filipino wives, he said.

Perhaps the complainants are sick and tired waiting the issue to be resolve but never happened; and the complinants decided to stopped coming back to the bureau... we all know that the LAW in PI SUCKS! there are many crimes that have not resolve yet and just forgotten. protest6wz.gif protest6wz.gif ranting33va.gif

What about posting these pics with the love of her life (which is obviously not her husband)on the internet: http://goldstardaily...ent.php?id=3272 But Thomas Hunt is such a good person who loves his wife and put her on pedestal. But in time she will harvest what she sow.

Do you know him personally?

PhilippinesTragic Story of Thomas Hunt and Filipina Wife
Why her husband died? because he is too old and its time, or he died because of the desease?

We only heard one side of the story...perhaps the Filipina husband while spending his time in Philippines has a mistress (while he was not sick at that time) and the Filipina wife was mad at him and desided to have a Filipino man herself and flew to the US.....however I , agree that the wife was very heartless did not take care her husband while he was so sick at that time.

let's all stop from bashing, comparing whose the best or not and getting too personal.
every woman in every country (not only the philippines) can be the best wife for her husband. though we're all entitled to express about how lucky we are to have such great partners, let's all be sensitive enough not to bash too much and started comparing other cultures and other countries. that will diffidently create heated discussion...

I agree 100%

Let's just put it this way, IF based on OP's statistics, more foreigners in VJ prefer Filipinas

One of the reason is that:

Filipinas speak English much better compare to other countries like China,Thailand, Vietnamese,Columbia etc etc.

Better than Canadians?

Yes, and when the beneficiary speaks the same language as the petitioner, then they approve the visa more often. Several guys here are having trouble getting the girls from china or vietnam approved for visa to US. Besides this, the Filipinas and Americans share a very close history together. The US basically owned the Philippines from 1899 to 1945, so Fil-Am relationships tend to be closer and more loving because of the affinity between our 2 countries. Divorce between Fil-Am couples is much lower than other couples. No wonder Filipinas make the best wives! kicking.gif kicking.gif

india speaks better english too, isn't it?

I agree...but generally speaking Indian culture is so strict most of their people wont marry someone from outside of their culture. Their parents arrange their marriages and the prospective spouse usually is someone with the required religious and ethnic/linguistic qualifications as well as also belonging to an appropriate caste.

As nice as that sounds, I'm not sure there's any evidence to back up the fact that Philippina women make "better" wives than women of any other nationality. I don't think we're being honest with ourselves here.

There are plenty of evidence that among Filipinas are good women, many people said the same thing. there is this American woman who is an army and she happen to destined in the Philippines; she's surprised to know how great people there in general.... I'm not saying this because I'm a Filipina. blush.gif

I agree with you, there are good women in any country. whether its the philippines or in columbia or any country. rose.gif

I have to say my Wife Nan is very very very jealous of me being around other ladies. I asking nan if she don't trust me, she always say she don't trust the other ladies in Thailand. One day her sister came out of the bath room from just taking a shower with nothing on but a towel. She start to talk to her cousin in the room at the time. I guess I look to long because when I turned and look at Nan I could tell she was mad as hell.

Methink, if your wife to be was not around at that time, you and her sister probably did something "miracle" innocent.gif

US Citizenship General DiscussionDUAL CITIZEN
QUOTE (jsnearline @ Aug 13 2009, 11:11 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Since you have to renounce allegiance to your former country when you naturalize and the US does not generally recognize dual citizenship, there is no impact on how long it takes to process your N-400. Whether your prior country of citizenship chooses to continue to recognize you as their citizen is entirely up to them. As for how much time it takes for proceedings to retain your prior citizenship, that depends on the your former country of citizenship, specifically what their procedure is, and what the processing timeframe of the consulate with jurisdiction is.

I'm afraid you'll need to clarify your question a bit in order to get a more relevant answer.

Thanks for your input, My husband called and spoke to someone who works there .and We BOTH decided to go there tommorow and apply for it in person. again thanks.

edit: I'm already a US citizen, I just need to apply a DUAL CITIZEN.
