Our petition still says under initial review. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	how long does it take to process the i-130?	For I-130 approval you can look for a wait time of 8 to 12 months for the whole process. I am a January 22nd filer still waiting for my NOA 2. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Tier 2 question	I am the petitioner of my wifes I-130 and I have called the USCIS twice. The first time they told me that my papers were at the Atlanta field office and had been there since February. I called the 2nd time just the other day and asked the Tier 2 officer if she could tell me if our papers was just sitting in a box some where or if someone was looking at them. She first tells me that its possible they are still in the box then she says I can tell you as of August 26th an officer is looking at your papers. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	decision	I was told by a Tier 2 that as of August 26th an officer was looking at my wifes papers only to find out that it wasn't true. How I found out was I called the following week and talked to another tier 2 officer. I told him what I had found out the week before and he told me that the tier 2 officer I had talked to the week before had lied to me because they have no such information such as specific information such as dates of when your papers are or will be looked at also they cant tell you who is looking at them.   Sorry for the bold print its in the settings of this message box and I don't know how to fix it.   Best of luck to you	pnjandmtc1209	Male	Philippines	2013-09-26 22:03:00

But if ever that case happens? do we need to go back to the starting line?  in our case the guy that i have spoken to in atlanta..his quiet nice and told me that he take responsibility he gave me an envelope with his name on it and office address he just said that to mail him our copies of our application ang marriage certificate and 2x2 photo. I filed petition since 6 mnths and 2 weeks I called many times to USCIS bt thy never pickedup n waiting time was 3 hrs Our file was transferred from Nbc to Reno field Office . We r hoping to get approval in ths mnth aur nxt mnth hops so reno office dnt have much load likemy husband w my husband went to atlanta for infopass he was told by the guy that he was talking to that he will approve our papers since he went all the way from alabama however the guy cannot find or files so he declared it as lost my husband wanted to cry when he heard this weve been waiting for like 9 months and no one is looking in our papers and they lost it. He gave my husband an envelope with his name on it and told my husband to mail him directly our marriage certificate and 2x2 pictures. I was told by a tier 2 operator that my file had been transferred to the Atlanta field office so I went there to talk to them only for them to tell me they didn't have my I-130 petition so I have no idea where my file is. SO FRUTRATING!!! :(	i couldnt believe this!! its 10months of waiting nothing at all!! still initial review I know how you feel I am the U.S. citizen who applied for my wifes I-130 and our priority date on our NOA 1 is Jan 22nd 2013. I have contacted my congressman and my senator and I have even been to the USCIS office in Atlanta but nothing I do to try to help my wife be here with me seems to be working. Our papers also say initial review and we are getting discouraged. We filed the case last March 26th, 2013. and we received the First NOA last March 29th, 2013. I looked on USCIS dashboard and our case is still on Initial review . We filed it in California Service Center.       Thanks,   Well there is no certain time table for the uscis. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	JAN.2013 filer	Don't you agree that it would be a terrible mistake to assume that it's safely waiting in the NBC, where a loving, caring adjudicator will carefully place the file upon his or her desk, and page through it ever so delicately, being sure not to even bend a single corner on it? They have hundreds of thousands of files, and different types. Not to mention, some adjudicators take files home to adjudicate them. Yep, that's right. The adjudicator takes the file outside of the facility and brings it back when it's complete. Don't you think it's within the realm of possibility that it may have been misfiled somewhere o..r just stuck under the leg of the coffee table to provide stability?   Simply put, you have too much faith in the system. I agree...been receiving different answer each time I call tier 2, been waiting for my senators response and my congressman's and it takes 45 days for the ombudsman to reply for my complaint...for 9 months nothing has been done.worst of all the guy in atlanta when I did my info pass I was on cloud nine when the guy told me to look for my file and review it and went back to tell me that he cant find it declare it as lost and ask me to mail him a copy of our application so he can personally adjudicate it (even provided me his personal envelope) and wait another 2 weeks for his reply but nothing happened. If this is true then its a good thing but i will not put all my confident on it I will still go to my schedule infopass on nov 1. I was given different answer each time. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	JAN.2013 filer	hey i also suffered from the same situation whn my file completed 5 months i contacted my senator congressman and thy found tht my file was transferred from NBC to my local office !!!! thy even didn't send me any notice for transfer bt i knew it frm my senator aftr tht we took an info-pass and conformed tht our file is thr aur nt ?? it's thr frm July and still we r waiting for the NOA-2 ( i m a FEB filler and last 2 mnths ago we again took aninfo-pass and at tht time the officer who has our case informed us to wait for 1-2 mnths in ths end of the mnth we completed their time limit let see wht happen so its nt compalsory for thm to send a notice of transfer  just go to ur local office n mak sure thy hav u r case ... all the best for the journey.. I have been told by my congressmans office that our file was transferred to the Atlanta office but I never received a notice from the USCIS saying it had been transferred. I went to Atlanta on an infopass and talked to an officer he said he would pull my file and told me to have a seat and wait only to come back 20 minutes later to say they don't have my file. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	For all December and January filers	I just wrote a letter to them and sent it by U.S. mail. that's how I contacted my congressman and senator then in about 2 weeks received a letter from them telling me that my file was at my local USCIS office and at that point I went to the USCIS website and made an infopass appointment to go to my local uscis office and talk to an immigration officer.	pnjandmtc1209	Male	Philippines	2013-11-11 19:22:00

Really Congrats   Well, as you can see from my signature, USCIS received my file on December 3rd 2012... I've heard absolutely nothing since. I have a case number that I can type into the little USCIS website and see the same old 'Initial Review' bubble mockingly glow in my face, but other than that...? Close to tears, I tell you. How many December filers or earlier are in the situation I'm in? Something is surely wrong, right? contact your congressman or senator and let them find out if it's at your local uscis office that's what I did then if it is at your local office you need to make an infopass appointment and ask questions about your case. I learned something when I went to my local office. Initial review means your case is sitting in the file room waiting to be assigned to an officer. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	For all December and January filers	What exactly did you ask at the info pass apt Actually my nov.1st appointment was my 2nd infopass appointment. My 1st one was October 10th in which the 1st officer just flat out lied to me and told me my file was lost which wasn't true he just never left his post to go look for it because he told me to have a seat while he found my file and he would make a decision on it. I watched him and he never left his window and he kept calling people up and helping them. Then after about 20 minutes he called me back up to his window to say to me that my file could not be found. The thing is he never looked for it but he told me to mail certain things in to him and as soon as he got it he would make a decision on my case and I believed him so I did what he said and waited exactly 3 weeks and nothing happened. That was on October 10th.   I made my 2nd infopass appointment Nov.1st and I made a copy of my entire I-130 petition and took it with me because that's what my lawyer told me to do. It turns out I didn't need the copy because the officer took the time to really find my file in which he did. Now to your question I didn't ask him anything I just told him what I know from researching the USCIS website and by reading here at VJ. I told him I had 2 letters from my congressman's office that said my file was there at the Atlanta office and that I had been told by the previous officer on my 1st info pass appointment that my file had been lost. I also told him that by researching the USCIS website that if my file had been lost that I had the right to ask for an expidite and he said that's right. He took my receipt number and looked on the computer and went back to the file room and looked for my file he was gone for a while and came back and looked at the computer again went back again to the file room and came back with my file in his hand. At that point I started asking questions. I told him that I was on this site and I was keeping up with what's going on I told him that from this site most December, January,and Feburary filers were already finished and he asked me did it come from this office meaning Atlanta and I said no most were from the Vermont office. Then he said I tell you what I have a file here at my desk from July 2012 I have to come in in the morning to make a decision on and I'll put your file on top of it and make a decision on both which was a Saturday morning that he came into work. He told me for my peace of mind that he would give me a call once he had reached a decision and he did what he said he would do because I received the call saying my case was good to go.
