What form does our co-sponsor need to fill-up for affidavit of support since he is a retired government employee?

What are the documents we need from him to show during the interview???

My fiance will hopefully start his new job this coming 22nd and he can ask for employment certification and he will get his first pay stubs on 29th but he will fax it to me. Do I really need to have W-2? He has IRS way back 2002-2006...

"If they take your passport?" They give it back to you then don't they? I know they take it at the interview and keep it until they send you your visa. But I didn't know they took it at the medical. ???


They took my passport after I'm done with my medical and they gave me a copy of my x-ray and vaccination document. I think all K1 filers who went there and passed their medical they took their passport too...

I think it will depend on your country It depends on the process

My new found friend in St. Luke's who is also a k1 filer asked me that question and I answered her that if they found out that there is a problem with your medical examination they won't let you have the vaccination and they won't release a copy of your x-ray and vaccination documentation worksheet.. Just don't know if I'm right smile.gif

I was so thankful that I met a very nice friend named Jennifer from Zamboanga we actually met during our medical examination and we found out that we had the same interview schedule. We stayed together in the hotel. We woke up around 4am and went to the Embassy 5:00am but I guess we are too early since we were told to go inside around 6:30am but it was ok since we rent a chair for 20 pesos so we didn't really get tired standing...

Don't bring any cellphones, mp3 and camera inside. They will not allow you to bring it inside and they didn't have a counter area where you can left your gadgets. Before you can go inside the embassy you should present your DS forms(pictures pasted and forms with signature) and 1 I.D. to the guard but don't worry if you can't bring I.D. you can present your NBI clearance to Identify if it was really you smile.gif When you get inside they will scan your things so better not bring gadgets that are not allowed because surely they will see it.

When we were inside the guard guide us and let us sit on the chair and after few minutes the guard said we can already get our number so there I gave my DS forms and the receipt from BPI(payment for visa)and afterwards they gave me my number and it was 7009. We go back to the chair were we sat first and then wait for my number to flash in queuing board. You should need to be attentive if you see your number to be flash, you need to go quick to the window assigned to you if not they will be rude to you. After 1 hour of waiting my name was called at window 16 for finger printing. All you have to do is to show your number and don't worry what to do next because you will be guided by a lady on how to do the finger scanning and after that I went back to my chair. After 1hr of waiting my number flashed on the queuing board and I was assigned to window 26. This time the Filipina pre-screener asked some documents from me like my BC, NBI, CENOMAR, Affidavit of Support, Income tax return and W2, few pictures and letters. She also asked me few questions like:

Who is your petitioner?

Where did you meet?

How old are you?

Was he married before?

I was done about 15minutes from the filipina pre-screener... I went back to my chair shaking and very nervous... Hour after the CO windows was already opened and starting flashing numbers... My friend Jen was assigned to window 44 and when she get inside my number was flashed and it was window 44. Jen was done just for 5 minutes and after she went out to the room I came in and I smiled and greeted the CO Good morning and he respond Good morning How are you?? and then He told me to raise my right hand and asked me If I will tell the truth.

Questions from the CO

Who is your petitioner?

Was he married before?

Does he drive?

What car?What is the color?

Do you know how to drive?

And he said you better know how to drive since people there are driving....and thats it! He get a pink slip and stamped it and I was so happy when he said OK YOU ARE APPROVED!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!

I wait for my name to be called in Window 37 from there they will give you the pink slip and appointment letter and let you pay the delbros for only 165 pesos only and after paying it you are ready to go home and wait for visa delivery smile.gif


I'm so thankful to God that everything went well............

HELP.... I just found out that the ANNOTATION OF MY VISA is my fiance's name and my family name... I guess its not right it should be my fiance's full name..

it goes like this

Annotation

CHRISTOPHER YDIL

and YDIL is my family name

What am I going to do?Do I need to go back to Manila U.S. Embassy to correct it or I will call delbros and deliver it back to the Embassy??? or Is it fine to have it write that way???


I guess its not a full congratulations yet since having wrong info in my Visa...argggg

Well, if the filipina pre-screener will ask for your fiance's ITR you can give them both business and personal. Its all up to you on how you will explain it to the consul.

Are you from Cebu? just get your passport through a travel agency... I get mine through agency and no hassled I paid P900.00 and it took only for 9 days but if you want to have it soon they have 3 to 5 days processing and it cost about P1,500.00

It depends on the CO, some CO doesn't mind with the age gap of the couple..I have a friend whose fiance is 35 years older than her and she was approved. It all depends on the CO. I guess both of them is in the legal age to get married. I met a couple at St. Lukes and the girl is 19 and the american fiance is 20+ and the fiance american is finacially stable. We both had same interview date and they were approved too...

D&N is right about the 2 year meeting in person! good.gif

YuAndDan is right! Base in our case my fiance earned last year which i think above poverty level and he doesn't have so much money in the bank that will support me. I still took the risk but it went fine...

Its all up to you if you will go or not....What I did before, was I asked some friend if i should go or not because of our unstable situation for evidence of support but they all answered YES GO! so I go and took the risk...

if your fiance have enough fund to show that he can support you I suggest not to reschedule your interview...I was also in your same situation before my interview my fiance doesn't have a job but he earned well last year... we came to the point that I called USEM and trying to rescheduled my interview but then when I talked to the lady I suddenly changed my mind and not to postponed my interview and I was so right...I'm approved!Good LUck

My visa annotation has an error too.. The family name of my fiance is XXX and they put YYY which is my family name...its a big mistake!!!! so I gave a call to USEM and talked to Grace and she said as long as the information above annotation are correct it would be OK! which means as long as the information of the beneficiary of the visa is correct it wouldn't be a problem..

I just want to share that during my interview day I met a lady in her late 30's. We had a conversation while waiting for our interview and she was so nervous because she was applying for a tourist visa more than 3 times and all those was denied and she is worry if it would be ground to her denial for a k1 visa. She was interviewed before me and when she went out to consul room she was smiling and was approved....She said she was being asked about her tourist visa and she answered it straight and honest..
