K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Is this horrible feeling in my gut justified?	Aloha kakou, We got our NOA1 on 2-17, got a touch on 5-4 - then nothing. I called CSC and they give me the October processing song and dance. I called NVC and they never heard of me. I see people who filed both around our time - and now more frequently - after us - getting approved. Some of those people are already out the door of NVC. I wouldn't say I am panicking, but at times it seems pretty damn close. The feeling of helplessness is overpowering at times. I used to love reading these forums. Sometimes I would get tears (of happiness) in my eyes reading of people's joyful progress. Now I rarely read them because I feel we're getting left behind. I know nobody here can do anything other than listen and commiserate with me. I can't really talk to my friends about this coz they have no clue in hell what a miserable process this is. So I guess all I can say is mahalo for listening and here's hopes that we all get thru our respective VJs with minimal bumps and bruises. I faxed Senator Mel Martinez(by the way he was an immigrant from cuba) a letter this morning explaining the situation. Not sure how much influence they actually have but i figure it can't hurt. I still haven't figured out how CSC processes these things. There are still several Jan. filers waiting for NOA2, at least 50% Feb filers waiting, but March approvals? Makes no sense!!! Oh well, i guess that's the best system we have! Good luck to everyone, maybe this week! K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Case sent to Manila 5/25	Were you surprised at the 2 day turn around? I was honestly expecting longer and was floored when I called a few days later and it had already been sent out! I was shocked on the turnaround, I thought it was really going to be two weeks, i'm wondering when the interview date is coming..... I called the NVC yesterday to get my MNL#, in which they gave me, then I asked the status regarding my case and the guy kindly told me that it was sent to the Philippine Embassy on 5/25. Wow, that was quick only two days from 5/23 to 5/25. Next step, interview date, I guess I need to really start gathering all the documents required, I'm going to make sure my baby is prepared well in advance. Keep up the Great work NVC! Congrats to you! I know you must be happy that things are moving rather fast now. I wish you continued success on the rest of your journey!! Yes, I am, and you should be too, my fellow CSC survivor! Make sure you call the NVC and don't wait, starting Tuesday! Where you end up filing is pure luck due to your geographical location. Nothing anyone says here is going to make ANY of the service centres move any faster, unfortunately. It's something that we all just HAVE to deal with. Threads like this do nothing to help anyone having to cope with their processing times, however. I suggest that we all put our energies into supporting one another when needed, not having a sly dig because some people are lucky to be going through VSC. Thankyou! I agree too, however this title and wording could have been a little different...see the replies that were left, then imagine the ones that were not left. Although there have been people who have been touched then no action for monthes, the majority recieve an RFE or approval within a week or two of the touch. Keep us posted. Hopefully an approval will follow soon. When you want something done right do it yourself. Forget the lawyers. I'd agree with the above statement. In most marriage-based immigration cases, the process is straightforward. We DID call a laywer when we were starting the process, but she knew less than we did! Visajourney.com has helped us more. But for some people where the non-USC is overstayed then a (good) laywer is indispensible. If you are looking for free or reduced cost services, talk to your church. Some churches have a non-profit immigration law firm in their Rolodex. I hope that your process goes smoothly this time! I concur...I have an immigration specialist in Korea right now and he is filling my fiance' full of really bad information...he almost had me waste $90 of some certified tax transcripts...when I originally could used regular transcripts with my W2's...it will be harder to get a K1 if you apply and are denied for a tourist Visa...and the list goes on...right now he is only there to fill out the forms...that is it.
