K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsHelp Scheduling Appointment for K1 Visa Interview Mexico

It's just a letter that's all. It says in bold letters that without letter they will not let you in for an interview and then just gives you links to websites to submit DS-160 and schedule appointment. I am the Petitioner so it has my address, but letter is addressed to my fiancée.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsHelp Scheduling Appointment for K1 Visa Interview Mexico

So I just received the "packet" from the Consulate, I am the petitioner. Don't know why they call it a packet, it's just a letter. We have already submitted the DS-160 and have the Confirmation printed out. I am concerned about scheduling the appointment for the ASC and interview and the consulate. We registered on the http://mexico.usvisa-info.com site and it prompts me to make the payment of $240 before scheduling the interview. I have no problem paying right now but I want to know if after I pay and print the receipt if it's going to show me a calendar and allow me to choose from available dates or if it's just going to give me a date. My concern with the date is that I don't have any more time off at work for the remainder of this year so I would love for the interview to take place on a Thursday which is my scheduled day off from work so that I can accompany my fiancée to the interview. Can anyone with previous experience from Mexico help?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsK1 I-134 Bank Letter Issues

I replied to your other post.

It's called a certificate of deposits is what you need.  It's the same as if you are applying for a home loan.  Certificate of deposits shows date account was opened, account numbers, and mine was 12 months of deposits, average balance last 3 months, currently available.  Just ask for a certificate of deposit.

AWESOME! Thanks for the info!

Not self employed. I work for a large communications company here in the US. I have already requested an employment verification letter and waiting to receive that from Human Resources.

Are you self employed? If not then you probably better of asking your employer for a letter confirming your employement supported by most recent pay stubs /w2's. Not sure how much info Mexico needs but I think in most cases tax return transcripts and employment confirmation is sufficient.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsK1 I-134 Bank Letter Issues

Hello everyone! So our interview is on January 03, 2014. I am getting all of the documents my Fiance has to take with her. I have filled out form I-134 but have been having some issue acquiring information that is supposed to be included with I-134. I will not need a co-sponsor. The instructions on this form indicate that a Bank Letter be provided. This bank letter is supposed to have the current balance on the account, the date the account was opened, and the total amounts of deposits made in the pas 12 months. I have 2 bank accounts with 2 different banks. I visited the first bank and they game me a letter with date account was opened and current balance. I told them about the deposits for the last year. They told me it was not on letter but they would give me the last six statements and stamp them with the bank seal. I took it but as soon as I left the bank I called their 1-800 number. I was told on the phone that they would have to research the total amount deposited within the last 12 months and that would take them 48 hours to do and they would charge me $20 an hour. My immediate response to them was no! I'm not about to pay $960.00 just for them to add up all of my deposits, I rather add them up myself and call them back. The other bank provided me with a letter with the date the account was opened, the current balance, and the average balance on the account for the past 12 months. I left that bank and called their 1-800 number and they had no clue as to what letter I really needed and if they could generate it for me. At this point we still have time but I have no idea what to do about these banks! They are completely clueless when it comes to these Bank Letters. I am sure I am not the first person to request this type of letter. Anybody had or having the same issue? Can anybody shed some light on what it is I should do?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsSame Sex K1 Approved! NOA2 Question
Hello everyone! We finally had our interview today in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico. I am proud to say that after waiting for 4 and a 1/2 hours my fiancee was approved! My concern now is that our NOA2 expired today as well. Does this matter? The consular officer made no mention of this to my fiancee. I know the NOA2 has a 4 month validity, but we had to reschedule interview once. Anyone had this same situation happen to them?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsK1 to AOS Vaccine Concern

In the AOS from K-1 visa forum, you will find a whole thread called 'Civil Surgeons who don't rip you off' with listings of CSs who know about the vaccine only.

That forum has a lot more information too for AOS.  This is the K-1 forum.  Good luck.

Awesome!! Thank you!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsK1 to AOS Vaccine Concern

Hello everyone! My wife came to the US with a K1 visa. At the time of the Medical, which was done in Mexico, vaccines were not required and were skipped. She had her Medical done in January of this year, only a few months ago. Now that we are married, and are starting our AOS package, we are having issues with vaccines. I have called several civil surgeons in my area and I have explained that the only thing we need is the vaccine transcription. Every civil surgeon that I have called have told me that she has to have the WHOLE ENTIRE exam done again and I will have to pay $300.00. I let them know that she had exam done just a few months ago in Mexico, and according to USCIS she does not need ENTIRE exam done again if done within a year of filing AOS. They turn me down, and simply say, "we do not do vaccinations only, she'll need entire exam and it'll cost you $300!" I have called numerous civil surgeons, some don't have a clue as far as what I'm talking about, and the rest just want $$$$. I am starting to feel that we have no choice and she'll have to have the entire exam done again. Has anyone else had this experince going from K1 to AOS? Any help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Thank you all!!! Congratulations to all new approvals! Most of all THANK YOU VISAJOURNEY! I have to say that I could not have gone through all this process without this site. We were super prepared the whole time. My Fiancee told me a lot of people left the Consulate as she was waiting with Denials or Requests for more information or documentation. Needless to say, she had everything she needed with her because I arranged everything for her based from information on this site. I have been receiving requests from friends for information about the process we went through. I have referred them to this site of course. I am looking forward to AOS once we are married because I know how reliable this website is. Again thank you all and most importantly THANK YOU VISAJOURNEY! good.gif

I took on the whole process by myself and with the help of this website no added costs no dumb lawyers to deal with and all we're just waiting for the packet to arrive. The whole process including RFE has been a breeze. I will also be taking on the AOS as soon as we're married and looking forward to that without a lawyer as well.

Congratulations to all of the recipients of the awesome NOA2!!! You will be notified by USCIS as soon as they ship your paperwork to NVC. I waited about a week after it shipped and started calling. Be prepared to wait on hold 30+ minutes. I remember I called one day, left the call in my car, got off at Walmart bought some stuff I needed came back and the hold music was still going. The first time I called the guy was rude, simply said did you have record of my receipt number and call ended. Second time I called I was surprised how nice the lady was, bad news is that she told me to wait 8 weeks and then they would have case number ready. I felt discouraged but I waited a few more days and called yesterday, and they provided me with our case number and told me it would be shipped as well the same day. I checked NVC status website today and have READY status. Just waiting for packet in the mail to move this along and get interview date. Everything has really moved along quickly after NOA2. For those of you still waiting hang in there, it's all worth the wait! Best of luck to all of you out there!

Still no alien registration number change for me. It's been 42 days since we applied and 31 days since we received the NOA1 hard copy. This waiting is killer. When you don't get something that everyone else gets you freak out. The anxiety and paranoia was so bad one day that it led my fiancée to ban me from checking our status for at least a week. Instead she'll check it and let me know if there's been any change (I'm not allowed to ask her, I have to wait until she tells me). Argh! I expect to wait a while for my noa2 but I really thought my alien # would be changed by now.

You're almost there!! Looks like based of your timeline information you're possibly getting your application adjudicated between November 8 and November 16. I know it's so hard not to check on a daily basis, but you can stress out yourself and your significant other by doing so. My estimated timeframe before NOA2 was October 23-November 3. I can bet you you'll get your NOA2 any day now, you just see.

Hi there Congratulations everyone with NOA2 approval.. I New to this forum and need some help from you ....

Is there anyone who had or is in the same situation ..

If you have a different date, it just means that someone pulled up your file that day. Could have been moved or handed off, but the status has not changed. Be patient, you're almost there. If this is not correct information, fellow VJ'ers please feel free to correct me.

So my RFE package was picked up by INS EXPRESS today and signed for by M. Salcedo. I was worried because I forgot to waive signature, but it looks like the packages are actually held by USPS until someone picks them up the next morning regardless of waiving signature or not. I hope everyone else that has received an RFE has had an opportunity to promptly send back they paperwork. Now we wait...........

Congratulations to all NOA2 recipients!!! I think getting RFE depends on petioner's state of residence. Which makes sense because we obviously cannot marry in Texas, which is where I'm from, and they need to make sure our intent is to marry in a state where it is allowed. I actually got the information requested for my RFE in the mail yesterday. I sent it through Express Mail. My only concern now is that I did not waive signature and the return address was a P.O. Box. I tracked it online and says the post office received package and it's ready for pickup. I'm wondering it the Texas Service Center has some sort of arrangement with USPS to pick up mail randomly at the post office.

Information you provided on your Form I-129F indicates that you and the beneficiary are the same gender. Please identify the state in which you intend to celebrate your marriage and submit a copy of the relevant state's marriage laws permitting people of the same gender to legally marry.

Hello guys!

Long time lurker, new member, and first time poster here. I have questions regarding my same sex adjustment of status case -- please don't get mad if I posted at wrong thread but I couldn't find a more appropriate one to post at.

Here's my story. I've been in a relationship with my partner since 2007. We are both "closeted" so we kept our relationship in private. None of our family members and friends know. Because of the understandable non-traditional nature of our relationship we tried and kept our relationship as "downlow" as we could. He, a natural born US citizen, lives in the east coast, and I, on the other hand, on an expired H4 visa (and no criminal background and not in deportation proceeding) lives in the west coast. Our geographical distance worked to our advantage as it made our relationship easy to hide. For 6 years, either of us visit/fly to see each other for up to a week or more, about every 2 months. In some cases 3-5 weeks apart. We made it a point to see each other as often as we could and we've been to about a dozen trips just the two of us together -- Hawaii, Miami, Chicago, etc.

Also for the past 6 years, we talk on the phone almost everyday -- from about 10mins to more than 1 hour each time. When DOMA was struck down we both decided to get civilly married in private: just us two and a commissioned employee at a city hall in California. Now we are in the process of gathering evidence for adjustment of status.

Here's all the things we have:
Airline tickets to see each other
Hotel/car reservations for our trips
Years of phone records
Photographs of just him and me from our different trips
Photographs from a couple concert events we went to together

Due to the nature of our relationship, neither of us have photos with either of our families. We know each other's immediate family members by name but he never really met my family aside from "hellos" when he come to pick me up at the house. I haven't met his family at all.

Also because we live apart we don't have joint bills and bank accounts and co-mingled funds. We both plan to live together in the future and share bills and have them under each other's name -- but that probably won't happen anytime soon as I plan to go back to school here in the west coast once I get my paperworks done -- and he cannot leave his job in the east coast at this point.

So with this situation, what's our chance of being successful in the immigration AOS process?

Any insights will be appreciated.

Thank you friends! :)
J

I think these situations happen all the time even with heterosexual couples and USCIS has to understand that both of you are consenting adults. I know heterosexual couples that stay away from one side of the family because of "issues", and this should not make us any different from them. It is not a requirement to send pics with partner's family. I have read forums where during the interview they might ask for mom's, dad's name and date of birth but not something you might get denied for simply because you don't know them. I hope someone familiar with this situation will come in and reply to give you ease of mind. I know as we enter this process our minds are filled with doubts and anxiety but we have to have faith that everything will turn out fine.

Update:

On September 18, 2013, your Alien Registration Number was changed relating to your I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)

Yay!!!!! I am excited.... I guess they are taking a little longer at TSC in issuing this notification for people who filed in August... I have seen lots of VJers that get that message a day or two after USCIS receives their application.....

That's great! Process is moving right along. Personally I feel that waiting for any type of notification from USCIS is the hardest thing I have done in my life. I literally log in daily to their website to see if the status of the application has changed. I even try my hardest to not log in sometimes but I just can't do it and end up on their website checking and feeling a bit of disappointment when I see everything is the same.

The response to this forum since I started it yesterday had been positive. I expected negative comments right away from people with different views and opinions. That did not happen until today. There have been people that have come in here and commented and left their well wishes and congratulatory messages and I absolutely appreciate and thank you for that. Please, if you have no positive comments to leave for us, or if your views are different than ours, negative messages will not help us out, nor will it help you as it will only feed your ignorance.
