K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNovember 2009 filers

Hello everyone,
Again Congratz to all those who have gotten their NOA2s

With all this activity here lately my fiancee is getting very excited. While for me I am getting somewhat stressed. I hate to throw some down trodden information into all this joy of late but I lost my job of 6 years last October. I filed for the K-1 in November thinking I'd have plenty of time to find work. I earned around $60K. Now I earn $536.00 every two weeks. It's hell!

Anyway.... I have had my father offer to be a co-sponsor. The thing is I am sure he's a bit private about his finances and I will suggest to him that he provide me with a sealed envelope if he so chooses.

I have a couple of questions about this.

#1 Even if I get a job here in the next few weeks I will still need a co-sponsor correct?

#2 If he wants to keep his finances private when it comes to me I can submit a sealed envelpoe with his information and I won't need to answer questions in regards to it, correct?

#3 #4 and #5 My understanding is that I should submit two I-134s one his and one mine. Does the fact that I owe back taxes to the tune of $10,000 have a serious negetive affect over and above the fact that I am an unemployed looser? I have a payment plan with the IRS. should I include this information? I heard that it might be possible to have him be the soul sponsor and I just bring my I-134 and info in case it is requested... Is this a fact?

We will be dealing with the embassy in Bogota Colombia.....

Anyones help would be greatly appreciated.......

Tech-Mo

Hi - I know only 1 of the answers. The IRS question - the payment plan is crucial so yes, you must send it. I only know this cos I read it yesterday on VJ, posted by one of the clever, trusted sources people. I've tried to find the link, but can't. Will keep looking for you, but basically they said as long as you have the payment plan in place, it shouldn't be a problem, but it is absolutely crucial.

I just found this site and its been so helpful reading through the post.

My fiancee and i received our NOA1 on the 20th of November.

We are missing each other alot.. I was in America when we decided to get married and during the process i had to travel back to the UK, so im now in the UK, with no job and not much money trying desperately to stay sane and find a job, any job... Why are there no jobs in England...

I'm excited to see that I-129Fs from the 17th of november are getting approved, so here's me hoping and praying ours will be on someones desk and approved very very soon.

Good luck to all in our position.. Its tough but the reward at the end will be completely worth it.

Hi nickm

Don't try too hard to stay sane, we all went nuts with the waiting months ago, so if you are still sane, we will think you are the doctor and start asking you for our medication! Welcome!

J :)

I don't think your "balls up" on the addresses will necessarily result in an RFE. The waiting does induce total paranoid thoughts. And the psychological impact of the wait is not to be trivialised. However, it's a bit like childbirth, when the baby finally comes, the pain of the labour is forgotten. I can't wait for you all the get "the feeling" and am holding your hands until you all do x

I'm in the same case as you. only 2 photos for proof, passport stamps copy, and no copy of the K1 application, didn't know bout VJ till after we send it.

Oh well, RFE is better then nothing ^^

I only sent 2 photos. And, because all I thought they wanted was proof of meeting in last 2 years (and the actual verification of relationship was carried out at interview), I only sent evidence of our last meeting, so one passport stamp, one airline ticket etc. The only other thing I sent was a screenshot of our email headings and some phone bills. After we sent it and started reading stuff on VJ, I then panicked and kicked myself I hadn't sent more evidence of how long we've been together, evidence of other trips etc.

I got approved so hope that puts your minds at rest. What you have sent is identical to what I sent. So - No losing sleep over that one.

That is fantastic news Mike! Definitely worth celebrating!!! :wow: We here in the November group have been thru a lot and to see an approval is nothing short of a miracle!! Seems like one of the folks at the VSC is working hard on November K-1 Petitions which is certainly heart warming.

Good luck with the DOS and the rest of your journey!!!

See you at the November filer reunion next year!!! lol ;) Seems like we should have one as much as we have been thru.

P.S...I am not a mad poster either...I just enjoy reading the thoughts of our fellow November filers!

Please can I come to the November filers reunion next year? I will of course, be coming on a tourist visa, as I'm obviously in the October Bermuda Triangle box. Missing in action! x

I dunno if I'm just lucky or if VSC are getting on with it, but my fiancee received the following email this morning:

> The last processing action taken on your case
>
> Receipt Number: EACxxxxxxxx73
>
> Application Type: I129F , PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)
>
> Current Status: Approval notice sent.
>
> On February 17, 2010, we mailed you a notice that we have
> approved this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E).

My NOA1 date was November 5th and before I get verbally assaulted by some of the angrier members here, I can assure you there is nothing special about my case - no deployment, no asylum, no son of any deity - just a bog standard I129F petition for a normal Scottish boy and a normal American girl.

Hopefully this gives some of you hope - it's a great feeling to get the approval and get ready to move on to the next stage!

Congratulations! Am well happy for you (and for the fact that they are not meddling about in any Dec or Jan boxes!)

Enjoy the moment, crack open the Irn Bru and treat yourself to anything you like from Gregg's the bakers!
Am now hoping for approval of ordinary Scottish lass and ordinary US man.

i bet at this point, some november filers might be afraid to fill in their noa2 dates on their timelines. i mean, the backlash of getting approved before someone else is harsh on this thread.

No, we won't be. We will be delighted it is actually a November filer and not a January in a non-special situation and processing is going in some semblance of date order.
doghandlerFemaleUnited Kingdom2010-02-17 17:58:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNovember 2009 filers

Personally I have no problem with expediated NOA 2's especially when it is either Military or extreme hardship reasons etc.
If your Military Fiance/e spouse is deployed waiting for them to come home alive must be unbearable. Noa2 waiting in comparision is nothing.

Again I hate to harp at December 15th approvals. But in all reality I cannot believe they are all "Special Cases" I mean over 50% approved or processed. Being approved long before November Filers even October Filers.

All I want is date order processing except for those few (And I am sure its only a few) special cases. But the proof tells another tale.

Anyway today the 17th Feb 2010 there has been no activity for Nov3rd 2009 EAC100235xxx filers.

Agreed, Adrian.
Respect in life has to be earned, and the VSC visa process has yet to convince me it is deserving in terms of living up their own mission statement. Big respect to anyone in the military facing active deployment and also respect to Naddy. I would not expect anyone who was currently trying to immigrate to the UK to say they respected absolutely everything the UK government did or how certain UK government agencies carried out their business and swear blind, unquestioning allegiance to all government processes which affect each and every one of its citizens lives. That would be niaive and the natives would all laugh and say, "wait till you move here!". It is heartening and even touching when a government agency does move mountains in response to one individual's plight, but for the millions of others not in special situations, the experience is for the most part, is entirely the opposite.

Look on these two time-lines:

NOA1 : 2009-11-04 VSC
http://www.visajourn...l...=0&id=77407

NOA1 : 2009-11-05 CSC
http://www.visajourn...l...=0&id=75156

In Dec the VSC was a month ahead of the CSC. Now we have fallen a month behind.

I don't know about anyone else but it's very hard to "effing chill" with this kind of confusion. Also just an observation, isn't there a Dec filers thread. I'm just saying some might find more of a common ground there, if they were a Dec filer.

Yes, being told to "chill", which I know is meant kindly, actually has the opposite effect, when my case hasn't even been touched since they cashed the cheque over 110 days ago, when I see approvals in 21 days for my fellow travellers who filed 3 months after me, and from my own country, the UK, (so no excuses from VSC about "humanitarian" cases having to be processed first, pluuueease!), when I know there is nothing complicated about my case, when myself and my fiance both have jobs which require high level security clearance (and we are criminal record checked more than once a year).
I get great comfort from you guys on this site, from the hilarious banter, and from the ranting and raving. I am a tough old dog, can laugh in the face of adversity, able to take the rough justice of life at the worst of times and put my own needs aside for others in worse situations, but this latest January approval is the nail in the coffin in terms of just how much blatant unfairness of process I am expected to suck up without going mental. I may live like a dog, look like a dog (especially in the mornings), I do have flea bites as I live and work with pack of dogs, but last time I checked I was actually human and admit to being brought to my knees by the stress involved in being exposed to this. But having this space just to type out my diatribe has helped. Now don't anyone be telling me to chill now! (lol, laughing again already!)
loving you guys

I am a January filer and was looking through the cases to see if any were moving and found that a few have been approved already, 3 have been approved with NOA 1 of Jan 12th (my date) and 2 approved with NOA 1 of Jan 13th. The randomness in VSC continues.

And the shocked silence from all October and November filers was deafening until the atmosphere was broken by the sounds of an explosion, as Miss Jess, as forewarned, did actually spontaneously combust.

It's a holiday that keeps the postal workers from working, so my guess is that there won't be any movement at the USCIS, either.
I hope they're at home staying snuggly warm and carbo-loading for four days of 12 hour work-days the rest of the week!

I've just completed checking the 14th October and loaded it all onto the super spreadsheet. 7 people from that date are still waiting (that's 124 days and still waiting for them, whilst VSC continue to pump out another December in 56 days, that's so fair, yeh, right) . 24 approvals, 2 denials, 1 withdrawn and 1 "other". I will start on another October day now, unless anyone else would like me to do any day in November or December, if so speak now, I don't mind.

And the congressmen are also on holiday today....if anyone was thinking about paying them a visit today.

I've seen Saturday and Sunday updates, but backdated to the Friday. USCIS don't work weekends (although they should!!) but the contractors who look after the updates on the websites apparently do. Some of the October people got their electronic NOA2 notification on a weekend. :)

Just letting you guys know I am now working on the spreadsheet too. Was up half the night looking into October 15th, and yes, there are still a number of untouched souls that far back, it's not right and it's not fair! They are clearly running it like a lottery.
I'll be updating the spreadsheet for that day later today, then I'll be working my way forward. It's keeping me off the heroin, cos Miss Jess, it is all true, we are a nation of substance abusers and your man doesn't look like he is Scottish, he's not got a blue complexion and still has all his teeth.

Hello kids :)

I decided to take a week away from checking VJ and USCIS because my other half (yensid) said that I was on the point of spontaneous combustion...I now know what it must be like to give up smoking!! ;)

Deeply depressed on how little progress we've seen though :'( Great news that there's been a few NOA2s but looks like California is sprinting ahead :(

My mum pointed out something to me this morning that I hadn't thought of as well.......although she is a British citizen and always has been, she was born in Venezuela and held dual nationality when she was a child. So that could ####### my background check right up :'(

And to top it all, I've got in to work this morning and SOMEBODY'S STOLEN MY CHUFFING MOUSEMAT!!!! lol

Still, trying to stay positive, let's have some more good news this week :)

J

YOU NOVEMBER CREW! I have just got my hands on your all singing and dancing, code breaking, super-dooper, jaw dropping spreadsheet! What genius did this? Was it you Miss Jess? I am formally thanking you and all the workers bees who put this together, for the merry hours of distraction it will give me to obsess over. I have posted it on our Octoberarians thread to keep the troops there happy, and wish to nominate myself as President of your official fan club.

I was working on petitions way before VJ was here.. I did 3 of them of different types but with VSC.. Also I helped a few friends with theirs back in 2001+2002... I can't believe what ####### people talk about on this website...Everything and anything including getting a puppy on the plane and we want the visa quick to do this so it doesn't have to ride in cargo..#######?...... I remember asking you a few questions last month because I am too busy to become familiar with everything about the works of this website..Do not tell me to calm down because I am calm .. You know nothing about me ..Also I am not your bro... We don't ride together... You have me mistaken with somebody else.. Don't like what you read here? then don't comment.. You started your own thread. November VSC...It is obvious that I am not saying anything to offend anyone here or the moderators would have stepped in by now.. I am not here to play games.. VSC is pissing me off as this is my 4th. time dealing with these people..And I paid so much less back then and got so much more from them at the time..So I see things differently than you do...This is not my 1st time dealing with what use to be the INS...... This website represents only a percentage of people..Not everybody that files knows about VJ.................... How many thousands of other people are also in this and not counted because they do not use VJ.? Did you ever give that any thought?

As a 30th Oct VSC filer I thought I perhaps this was my thread. Sadly for me, I'm clearly not welcome here.
The originator of this thread has stated that people who are concerned about the welfare of dogs, and who exchange valuable information on this site to prevent unnecessary suffering of animals, are talking #######. Not saying anything to offend anyone? "#######" You sure about that? Animal welfare issues and concerns discussed by highly responsible pet owners obviously makes the originator furious. Wouldn't want to be responsible for inciting his rage any further. Wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of any Incredible Hulk who hasn't been attending the anger management classes situation.
Don't worry, I won't be back here.
ps -" We don't ride together". Hilarious.

You will need more then just 2 photos

Well having just read that, that's me now in a state of fear and alarm! I went by the guide on VJ it says to send 2-5 photos. So I only sent 2. Mainly cos we are not huge photo people. I am always the one behind the camera and have hundreds of photos of my fiance and his kids and his dog! I did have lots more of us together, but ones taken by his kids which results in one of our heads cut off or blurred, or simply looking awful (you know what us women can be like). As we were not worried about not having enough other evidence (we submitted loads), I thought 2 would be enough. Shoot! Ah, well, nothing I can do about it now. Looking forward to my RFE now!

I put all my vacations, going right back to my first visit in 1996, just to be on the safe side. There was no way I could remember which months I was there all those years ago, so I just guessed. I couldn't check my old passport for the date stamps as that one was lost/stolen by the DVLA when I sent it in as ID for driving license address change 2 years ago (that's another story!).

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPut wrong embassy/consulate on my I-129F form

seriously doubt it.

When I did mine I didn't realise Sydney was the only consulate was for K1's (I hadn't done a lot of research by then) and put "melbourne". I didn't have any issues and everything was still sent to Sydney.

I assume the same will happen for you as K1's are processed the same until they reach the beneficiaries country.

I made exactly the same mistake. I put Edinburgh Consulate on my form, as I foolishly thought all Scottish people would be interviewed there (but no, they send us all to London!). No RFE. Got approved. No problem.

Hi!
I can't seem to get a clear and definite answer on these two, please enlight me!

First, I am getting my birth certificate and my criminal background check translated by a retired translator. He signed, for both documents, a paper that state :" I, ___________________________, certify that this document is a translation from French to English, and that I have the skills required to do this translation. Signed on ______________ in Trois-Rivières, Qc, Canada". AND, I'm getting those two documents certified by a notary. Will this be ok with the consulate?

B)
Second, on a question in one of the forms to fill in for the P3 (sorry I have neither the form nor the question close by) they ask for the dates of any previous trips to the U.S. About 6 years ago, I went to Michigan twice for a short time in the span of 6 months. I drove there once and flew the other time and didn't have a passport since it was not required for Canadians at the time. I have ABSOLUTELY no idea of the exact dates I went there, and have ABSOLUTELY no proof or receipts. I can say it was around September-October the first time, and late December early January the second time. What do you suggest I write down? An attachment explaining my situation?

Thank you SO MUCH for taking the time to answer! It would be a GREAT help if someone did!

Good luck to those of you who have their interview soon! Let us know how it went!

Hi

For B) - I have had numerous trips to the States going back as far as 1996. There was no way on earth I can remember dates going that far back. Also, my previous passport was stolen, so I didn't even have that to check back on. So, all I did was guess! I'm sure it's nothing to worry about.

You sure can. The only requirement is you have met at least once during the last 2 years and you have your pictures of your meeting in 2009 to prove that. You are good to go.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresFilling Out Forms...
For the employment history - it's pretty impossible to get the addresses to fit in those tiny boxes! I wrote in the box "see additional sheet attached" and attached an additional sheet to the form with all my work details. it is fine to do this. Just remember to write on the top of any additional sheet, your name, petitioner's name, form and question number.

I can relate to you completely and some days that feeling can feel like it will overwhelm you.

I put my studies on hold also, I moved back to my mums with my son to get a job and save the money needed for this process. We moved away from friends, my son changed schools, I hate my job, everything is taking much longer than we thought it would. Its not an easy journey to take, even though we all know it will be more than worth it.

Hang in there

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsIs it just me or has going through immigration really put wedding planning into perspective?
I love this!

We had the most simple wedding ever. I had no dress, no venue, no seating plans, no guest list, no flowers. It was me, my son, my (now) husband, his mum, sister, best friend and the nice woman from the court house who married us in the sunshine. My son wanted a toy with his dinner so we went to burger king, I wouldn't change a single thing about it.
