At 11:10am, Consular, London wrote: "Thank you for your e-mail correspondence. Your appointment for an immigrant visa interview has been scheduled for June 10, 2010, at 09.30. Please refer to the attached document for further details." Hallelujah! Super sweet! You can start eating and sleeping again! And, only £6? Some poor person got a £45 bill cos they called on their cell phone! They must have had a special offer or discount sale on their extortion line they day you called! David said everything went very smoothly this morning, everyone he dealt with was really nice and he was in and out of the embassy in about an hour. We're both so relieved and happy to have this part of the process over. He probably won't move over till mid-June but it's nice to feel that there's nothing stopping him from coming over as soon as next week if we want! We will write up a review in our timeline later today or tomorrow for those who are interested in the details. Best of luck to all of you getting ready for your own interviews! The description of your wedding "process" is hilarious (and so are those "drapes", I use the term loosely, they had hanging on the wall behind you). It sounds like getting married in jail! Don't know how you can face it right away, I had a quick look at the forms....here we go again....more duplicate information and some bizarre new questions thrown in for good measure e.g. list all clubs/societies/groups you have been a member of since the age of 16 (why would being in a chess club when I was 16 be of any interest to US immigration authorities?) And it must be said, just married married, still thinking about all of us on here, you are one big sweetie pie, a lovely, lovely person. We've all got emotional now! Can you Handle the DOG!!! HandA I will be at the shisha party! I drink 5 coffees and about 10 cups of tea per day. It doesn't raise my blood pressure, only immigration has the power to do that! Bring on the strong stuff! I also plan to knock myself out with gin and horse tranqulisers on the flight as I will be so stressed about my dogs in the hold of the plane. I rang DOS again today to see if there had been any movement...this time the lady said my P3 had been logged April 13th but that I still wasn't showing as qualified for interview...she said maybe I had forgotten something which worries me greatly. Lady I spoke to Monday just said they hadn't had a chance to give me an interview date. Unfortunately I think the time has come to call the extortion line...6 weeks seems like an awful long time to wait for a date judging by other people's experiences. Gonna bite the bullet and bankrupt myself Tuesday!! PS JL_n_JL - congratulations J x it is because you didn't put a travel date. As I remember correctly, that "annoying the planet one person at a time" member put the fear of god into you and everyone else when we were discussing it on the UK interview thread (which is why I no longer discuss anything on there). Careful on that extortion line, it cost someone £38 for just 15 mins. We went to go buy Ewan some clothes the other day - he had no shorts at all, which is basically a choice between death or nudity in the South Florida summer, so we took care of that. Neither of us would buy anything for the other in terms of clothes; we're both a bit picky, I guess... We just got our marriage license today, and are planning on going to the courthouse for the ceremony on Friday. Ewan's ring is being made right now - hopefully it will get here in time! Friday? This coming Friday? Blimey, megger, you don't hang around! It's like a shotgun wedding! Love it. As you were the first to start this thread, it is fitting you are the first to actually get married. If you hadn't noticed by my absence - I DID make it stateside only after 10 hours sat in Manchester airport freaking out whilst they did so many checks on the plane they took the bloody engines apart!! 2. For the first time I told the Immigration Officer I was visiting my fiance - I got fewer questions than ever before. Definitely a good move. 3. My Packet 3 has been logged at the Embassy but no interview date yet.......anyone got better news?? Anyway just wanted to say hi - I'm off to look at apartments with my mother-in-law!! Yikes!! So glad you made it. I've got my interview date 19th May. We've established that London does seem to allocate interviews depending on what travel dates you put on your packet 3 forms. I'd requested any interview date in May cos I need to travel in June (as I've sold my house and can't be having dogs in a homeless situation). Others who have got their interviews on the UK thread are saying the same, so whatever date you put on your checklist, they are going by that. Happy househunting and safe journey back to the UK. I'll buy her a bag on my own, but for clothes, it isn't worth it.. One time she spent an hour trying to pick out a $20 pair of flip flops.. She had the salesmen pull down every size 5 (and 6) from an entire rack.. I just sat there watching in amazement.. Yep, that's what we are famous for. OOOOOh! Mr Dog took complete leave of his senses last Christmas and ventured into a jewellery store alone. Mrs Dog got one horrific bracelet in the mail (for which she had to pay $50 UK import tax on cos Mr D was foolish enough to put the real value of horrific bracelet on customs form). The bracelet was so horrific it was a miracle it didn't get seized by customs as it was a crime against fashion and good taste. Mrs Dog went mental and sent it back to Mr Dog with a note which read "people have been divorced for less, hope you kept the receipt". However, I am soooo jealous of those who have moved already. I am still waiting until May 20 to go to Thailand. This has been the longest month in my life so far, and I have 3 more weeks to go. I have been working on a few things. I was able to get Jum a credit card and I bought her some clothes. Buying clothes for a female - unsupervised? Mr T - you are one hell of a brave man. It is a road most men fear to tread. The risks involved are immense, and include getting an earbashing for:- a) getting the size too big "so, you think I'm fat?" b) getting the size too small "are you trying to tell me I need to lose weight?" c) buying an expensive item "you could have got that half price in the sale, that's a total waste of money" d) buying a bargain "is that all I'm worth, a cheap, nasty sale item?" e) getting the style wrong "do you want me to dress like your mother/prostitute?" The item is then kept in a bag at the back of wardrobe only to be brought out when wife's female friends visit where they cackle like witches and there are screams of "OMG! - he bought you that?" Reassuring for me. Naddy, that dress is totally gorgeous, and as we've all got some kind of mental picture of what we all think each other looks like, I've always had the sense that you look like Audrey Hepburn, therefore that dress is perfect. How funny about the eating and putting on weight (apart from our Miss Jess!). The stress of waiting turned me into a massive comfort eater for the first time in my life and I too have put on weight, so much so that I've even gone up a bra size. That's another thing to blame immigration for - it's ruined my figure for my potential ladyboy career! Oh, it's totally our week here in the Nov. thread! I win the bad girlfriend award of the week: My alarm didn't go off, so I was about 45 minutes later to the airport than I meant to be, but luckily I arrived about a minute after Ewan picked up his bag from the carousel. Got the poor, sleepy dear back home, through the morning rush hour traffic, and he hopped straight into the shower. Sigh. It was a little bit awkward for the first ten minutes of him being here, but all good now He said the POE at LA was easy-peasy, took no more than 10 minutes... Anyway, back to snuggling my poor tired fiance! Hugs to all of you!! You slept in for one of the momentous occasions of your life? How cool are you? That's hilarious! Glad he arrived safe and sound. It's a wonder we even recognise our SO's after all this time. I've almost forgotten wot mine looks like. There is a risk I could launch myself at the wrong man at my POE. FINALLY! 202 days from filing to interview date. Now there's so much to do, all that sitting on my butt consoling myself with non-stop donut and chocolate eating stops now! Just booked medical for 12th May and have to plan trip to London. WE ARE ALL THROUGH NOW!.....and after all that has been said and done, I now kinda like the fact that I was last! Remember the dark ages when there were over 120 November filers all waiting for NOA2? K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	November 2009 filers	Right now if you gave me a snorkel and mask I'd bloody swim there. Well, to me it looks inevitable now but Virgin still haven't formally cancelled my flight so there's nothing I can do. I haven't slept properly since Thursday and my appetite has deserted me (that's how you know it's serious!!). The horrible thing is that one of my American friends was due to fly back with me from the US on May 2nd - and unless there's still an ash problem then it'll cost her a fortune to rebook - so it's not even like I can postpone until next week cos otherwise I'll be in the US and she'll be here by herself. So if I can't get a flight this week the earliest I'll be able to go is a month from now, and as much as I've been trying to brace myself I'm finding it very hard to prepare myself psychologically for that kind of disappointment. Aside from anything else I'm so gutted at the prospect of not getting a break from work I'm almost as upset about that as I am about not seeing the boy!! I'm totally burnt out. I know it could be so much worse - at least it's not the wedding - but I've been on the receiving end of so many cancellations and delays and disappointments in the past 8 months that it's very hard to take yet another travel disaster. You've been jinxed honey. Burnt out, I'll bet you are. If you'd gone last week, you would have been stranded with the boy in the States and unable to get back to work. Now, I imagine that would have been preferable for you. My man (after weeks of nagging) sent all his financial stuff to me the day before the flight embargo. So, it's clearly now stuck in the mail over there. And apparently the ash cloud is heading to the east coast of the States, so their planes will then be grounded, I'll get my interview date and have no financials, I can see that scenario playing out (and I'm gonna donkey kick that man's ####). So, we're now hoping at least Ewan's travel won't be affected. But nothing would surprise any of us now. What's next, do you all think? Me and you still in the same boat. London still not even logged our cases a month on. I can't post on the UK interview forum no more due to the presence of a big cheese member, who brags about being personal friends with the UK CO's and who takes great pleasure in berating, humiliating and attacking anyone who dares express frustration, upset at the stresses of their own personal situation, or even humorous jibing about the London embassy for the long wait. S/he has already mockingly pointed out that I seem to think I am "entitled" to a visa (which I have never said), and took great pleasure in emphasizing that I am not and I am clearly not aware that it is in fact, a privilege. It's nice to know there will always be someone who enjoys kicking a dog when it's down. I will be eternally grateful for the support, comraderie and all the laughs you good people on this forum have given me during these soul destroying 6 months. I am supper jealous now!!!! In Cairo, the only 2 things they do super fast is DRIVE a car and approach a tourist... The rest is at a snail's pace HandA You're always a good laugh! There are plenty other November folks who seem to have useless consulates that are averse to sending out P4's, for some reason. Seriously, get the heck on top of your game, US Consulates! I hope you guys all hear something soon! Ewan's interview in T-minus 2 hours! Yeeep!!! Hopefully I'll have some good news to share by tonight. Mrs Megger! All fingers and paws are crossed in my kennel tonight for Ewan's interview! H&A - Cairo can join the club with London and Paris for being at the bottom of the class. We're all still waiting and in some London cases, it's over 5 weeks and still cases not even logged according to NVC. I read on another thread entitled "Bangkok embassy faster than a bullet train" this: P3 sent back and tracked online embassy received at 9am. He could be here with me in as little as two weeks!!! I'm pretty sure I won't believe it's real until I see him at the airport, though. Fantastic news! So excited for you. I read somewhere on vj that it is 'less' expensive to buy round trip tickets than one-way tickets,I mean,is that true? And if at all that is,will that be a problem at the POE if they see somehow see that you have a return ticket? I think this is not a problem,just wanted to know y'all's opinions. I am getting very antsy waiting for that package that John sent me on the 18th of March,where is it. I really hope it makes it here a little before time,please God. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	November 2009 filers	Hey guys! Just got in, but wanted to let you all know as soon as possible: I AM IN THE US!!!!!!! Puppy was a hero and survived the cargohold! POE was a breeze - when I got in, there were hundreds of people in the foreign citizens line, so I asked a guy in uniform if I could go with the US citizens. I gave him a very sad look and told him about my puppy in cargo and he let me There were no question whatsoever, just about the dogfood I had on me - because of that I had a twenty minute wait in secondary customs. Otherwise, really no problem at all. Now I am just waiting for my baby to come home on Sunday and we'll be reunited I am ridiculously (however you spell that) happy!!!!!!! Great news about the puppy. That's very reassuring for me. I had no idea dog food was the new contraband. Best of luck and warm wishes for your new life.
